Im from the NY/NJ area originally and this is honestly just as good, if not better than what I grew up on...high praise indeed. Good honest simple New York style bagel-deli. Prices are great too. Im a fan.

Im told that this is the best place in town to get New York style bagels. While Im no expert on that, I will say that these bagels are really good.

Bagel Fair is a little slice of the east coast that I’ve missed for a while now. Well worth the half hour drive for a real bagel! I will continue to tell people that this establishment is the place to go.

I just moved to Indy and it is a treat to have such an amazing bagel place near by. The bagels are amazing deli style bagels, for a good price. The sandwiches they can make are also great and at a good price. I come here way more often than Id like to admit!

Their bagels are the best in Indy and probably in the entire state. Their spreads are delicious too. Even when there is a line, they move fast and youre not stuck waiting for too long

Have always had bagels from grocery stores and never seen a fresh collection. They have cream cheese and other spreads too. Butter is available for purchase as well. I’m no longer buying bagels anywhere else. Need to try the other varieties on display.

Amazing bagels + quick service, suggestion would be to have napkins out and knives, i had to come back since I forgot them since they weren’t out (or put them in peoples bags )

This is hands down the best bagel shop in Indy. The quality of bagels and toppings, and the variety of flavors is as close to a true East Coast bagel as you can get.

The Baoli bagel (the everything toppings are baked into the bagel instead of on the outside), toasted, with any of their cream cheeses, is my preferred order.

Love the bagels here, but my favorite thing is the cinnamon brown sugar creme cheese spread. That stuff is incredible!

I was so let down after reading the reviews of this place. I thought it would be so much better. the apple cinnamon bagel I got tasted nothing of apple and barely of cinnamon. the cream cheese was sliced off a block and sandwiched between the two halves of the bagel. the guy asked if I wanted it warmed up and proceeded to put my bagel in the microwave for about 5 seconds. the bagel itself was so tough and hard to bite, let alone chew. won’t be returning.

Bought some bagels for my mom for Mother’s Day for nostalgic reasons for her. Asked if they were vegan so I could share one with her but they just told me they didn’t know -_- you don’t know what the bagel is made of?? They were friendly just not knowledgeable.

I move to Indianapolis from New Jersey over 6 years ago and since then Ive been on a hunt to find the best bagel in Indy.for the last 6 years Ive enjoyed Broad Ripple bagels and then today while stopping for a haircut I happen to come across Bagel Fair.I went in and ordered a poppy seed bagel with Swiss cheese and Pastrami and could not have been happier.They make their bagels fresh in the ingredients were excellent. The customer service was excellent as well. And dont even get me started on the prices.this has become my new go to bagel place and I will be singing his praises to anyone who asked me for a recommendation on where to get a real New York style Bagel here in Indy

Somehow doesn’t have a toaster. Microwaves their bagels to heat them. Doesn’t cook their eggs on site. Precooked eggs heated in a microwave.Incredibly disappointed.They should be ashamed to call themselves a bagel place.

Amazing bagels... the absolute best.I asked if I could sample the lox cream cheese before buying a big tub (for $4.50). the less than friendly female employee gave me the signature teenage eye roll and went to the refrigerator. an older male employee asked what she was doing, the exchanged some whispers, and she returned to the register and rang up $2.99 for a 2oz container of my sample.long story short, great products, not so great customer service.

We bought 6 bagels and by day 2 they were hard like a rock. We have been buying bagles for over 60 years and they should last more than 2 days so it must be their formula. We will not go back again.

I know everybody has their own idea of the perfect bagel. For me, this is it. Soft inside with a light shell outer but not so crunchy as to jack up your gums. And warm. Who doesnt love Kent a warm bagel?

Great spot. Its hard to be optimistic when walking into an Indianapolis bagel shop. The quality was fantastic, and I only wish I had been hungrier.We didnt even try the blueberry, and it looked beautiful

The bullets:- Cash only- Great bagels- No toaster- Nice service- No seatsI like the bagels. Theyre $1 each. It is very easy to walk in, get the bagel and take off. The people are nice and great you with a smile. It is kinda odd they they have no seating and dont take credit cards. But, that is just not their thing. Im good with it. I was, however, disappointed when they asked me if I wanted it warm, I said yes and they stuck it in the microwave. Bread in a microwave is yuck! They should get a toaster. They should also ask - do you want me to make your bagel all chewy by sticking it in a microwave? and not do you want it warm.

No toaster. Cream cheese not spread on, its just a block of cream cheese globbed on making it more like a sandwich. They do offer to microwave your bagel which seems counterintuitive for a shop that MAKES bagels. Customer service is also lacking, at least among the three acne-inflicted nerds working this morning, not sure about the rest of their staff. This place did not deliver on the hype that has been generated about them.

The best bagels in Indy bar none. Biali bagels with the lox cream cheese just like the PNW...jalapeno bagels with scallion cream cheese - another delicious combo. These arent giant, soft, doughy bagels like you get in NY & NJ - these are hand made, boiled, baked bagels. Call to reserve a dozen, pick up before 1:00, slice, toast. Package and freeze for King Breakfast all week.

Came in for the first time on the beginning of a road trip and asked for 2 bagels toasted with cream cheese. A few minutes later the worker handed me the bagels and asked me if I wanted them warmed up. When I indicated that I wanted them toasted, I was told all they had was a microwave and so thats how they were warmed up. It wasnt until I was driving away that I realized that the cream cheese was warmed up in the microwave already on the bagels too. Im sure the place would be good to bring bagels home, but this is not the place to get something on the way. I couldnt get two bites through the rubbery bagel with warm cream cheese...

The only real bagels (boiled bagels) I have come across in Indy. The best bagels in Indy and better than many I have has in New York or LA. Their shmears (cream cheeses) are good too. The employees are usually younger guys who are not the best ambassadors of boiled bagels but they are good overall. it seems more like they want you to know what you want.Get there early because they run out. The bagels freeze well if you put the bagels you cannot eat same day in freezer bags. I recommend cutting them in half (separating top from bottom) before putting them in the freezer. To eat later either let them thaw at room temperature or toast them, but dont microwave them as it changes their texture.
