Little college Einstein Bagels. Dont expect a full restaurant, but if you need a bagel between classes then it is perfect.
When I walked up, all the employees were sitting on the floor, and at least one of them was eating a meal. Also, one of them was playing their hip hop music from their phone. The one that was eating asked me if I was ready, I said yes, and then she gave me an expectant look like she wanted me to order, so I did. Another employee said “you take it”, so she stood up and put it into the cash register, and I paid. She didn’t ask me if I wanted my receipt, so I had to reach out and pull it from the printer myself. I ended up grabbing the previous customer’s receipt, too, because it was still attached. Another employee made my bagel and called it out when it was ready (which I didn’t understand a word of what she said because of her thick accent, so I had to ask if she said my order, but I guess that’s not her fault). This was just the last straw when it comes to this Einstein Bros. Bagels outpost. Over the past 3.5 years I’ve been going to IUPUI, they have been excruciatingly slow when it comes to taking orders and fulfilling them. I’ve left the line many times when there were just a few people in front of me in line because it was moving at like one person every two or more minutes. The employees have no urgency at all. They’re always talking to each other or just moving slowly behind the counter, no matter how long the line is.The only reason I keep going is their food usually isn’t bad, and their coffee is good. However, their customer service is just horrible, and I would definitely go more often if it was at least average.
First off, the lady that consistently does the cash register needs to stop being so rude all of the time. She should be rude to customers at all, if I’m being completely honest. Secondly, if the staff here could pick up the freaking pace when making things so that we can get back to wherever we need to be on time that would be perfect. Lastly, when did the price for a medium smoothie go up to $5.19?
I am really confused at how they always have a sign up saying they are out of espresso. How does that happen for months and months? Part of the appeal of having Einstein/Caribou on campus is the access to coffee without having to go all the way to Starbucks! Based on other reviews, Im starting to think the employees are just lazy and dont want to make coffee drinks. Also I think they should have weekend hours!
This place is definitely hit or miss. Some of the ladies are very cordial but there has been times ( total of 3 )where I’ve placed my order and then they’ve completely forgotten about me. Totally disheartening...
Went to pay with cash and they said they only take card and the person behind us paid with cash no problem. Just because I am a minor doesn’t mean you should not serve them.
Did she really just ask could she sell me 6 bagels? Being open to the public I thought product was first come, first served. If you cant sell someone a dozen bagels because youre trying to make sure you have enough to last until closing then perhaps you should consider increasing your delivery order. With this being the only Einstein on the Westside Einstein Bagels Corporation Office should have considered this when placing this store on campus. Also, the staff could to be more professional, customer service friendly and move like they have life. I have got to find me another bagel spot on the Westside.
The open times state 7am, yet I wait 30mins to an hour for the employees to put out the bagels. The cashier lady is extremely rude to customers and purposely writes name down wrong even after giving the spelling. It is a hit or miss with this location.
The food is great, but employees were loudly playing music and YouTube videos.
Bever bought anything here before. Friend had a bagel mix up once though. I just enjoy the smell it creates in the IT building.
I imagine sloths on Xanax could move quicker than these ladies during their busy times. Its annoying the amount of times Ive waited UNNECESSARILY, because they float around like lackadaisical amoebas. If these ladies worked chic-fil-a in the campus center it would be a catastrophic cluster**** (Maybe even a federal disaster area). So ladies...if you read this: stop walking around like someone pd in your cheerios EVERYDAY.Also can I ACTUALLY get some cream cheese on this?
IUPUI is a public campus and anyone can go to this Einstein during open hours. The staff is always helpful and pleasant. That said- the hours are influenced by the school calendar and the menu might not be complete.
Great place to grab coffee and a bagel before class
I am a big fan of Mocha 😀
I went there 4 times each time I meal was incorrect Ill have to drive all the way back and somehow was still on time for work. Yet he fourth time I decided to call corporate number that did no good I have been on the phone with them 12 times no one will call me back it has been on now been 6 weeks and I was promised my money to be returned it is still not being heard dont go here very soon to be closed and its not worth anyones time.
Didnt go, but wondering why in the world a bagel & coffee shop would be closed on a Sunday. Lame.
Vegan cream cheese! Amazing!
I cant walk through this building without being tempted to buy a bagel.
Disorganized mess. Go somewhere else.
The workers dont seem to be very bright and they dont always have bagels at 8 AM. Portions are very inconsistent.
So good!
No parking
Yummy
