Great fun restaurant. One orders at a counter at the front of the restaurant then they call a number and you go get your own food. The restaurant could try a table number system so numbers aren’t being called over speakers. Dining area has a free jukebox with tunes from the 1950s. Tenderloin was moist and cooked fresh. Fries were cooked fresh as well and they were hot and crispy.
I dont even like Rootbeer Floats but theirs is pretty good. You can drive up, park, and not get out of car and they will take your order, and bring it to you. Pretty consistent on food order accuracy and taste. They do charge .89 per bacon strip and I think that is weird you just cant get Bacon Cheese Buger without ordering per strip. The staff is normally polite and good all the times I have came.
The food that I had at Edwards was exceptional I had the fried shrimp and onion rings. It was delivered to my car like the old days of the CarHop and I enjoyed it a great deal. It was just a little pricey but a little better than fast food I enjoyed it I recommend it.
Coney dog was great as were the onion rings. The tenderloin was subpar. It reminded me of a thin pork fritter from elementary school. Rootbeer was great however they offer no refills on drinks because of covid.
I dont particularly care for fritter style tenderloins but we actually stopped in because we knew they offered hot dogs for my grandson. I mostly prefer a thicker style tenderloin. To each their own. I opted for the grilled tenderloin this time. It tasted like the cook squished all of the juices out of it while cooking. It was dry. I ate it with lots of extra pickles to offset dryness. It was just okay. Nothing special. They were very Covid conscious, I will give them that.
I love this place. The food, the atmosphere, the food!!!!! This is a gem in the ruff. I love they car shows they put in in the summer and they always are friendly and ready to help.
Chicken Tenders and fried mushrooms are great!Good Family owned and family oriented restaurant.
Tried the tenderloin sandwich. Typical fare of taking a 3-4 oz. piece of pork and smashing it to paper thin. The result, more breading than pork.Onion rings, delicious!Their new policy of no refills on drinks is very disappointing. The primary reason for going is the root beer.
The food is amazing - everything is delicious but we love the chicken tenders, breaded tenderloin and onion rings! And you cant go wrong with a root beer float. We had our first date there and we keep coming back! :)
A bit stingy on the sandwich condiments even though you pay extra for them and no straws for our drinks. So that was a bummer but service was prompt and we did get our food pretty quickly and it was quite tasty. I gotta say though some of yall that were there seemed to have alot of trouble parking. 😬
This drive-in is pretty good. The restaurant is always clean and the atmosphere is pretty good. The food is pretty good and they do a lot of things from scratch and by hand. All in all it is a good place with decent food.
Love this place. Great food and great service
Sad they are closed on Monday and quit the 99cent conveys. They were a hit. Also they left one coney dog out of our order
Price was right service was quick. This ones was started in 1957. The interior decoration is cool. We ate outside in our car with A car hop waitress. Fish was a little fishy tasting, but you may view that as good or bad depending upon your taste buds
There were 8 of us in our family who ate dinner at 5:30. Everyone was happy with their meals. Four big tenderloin sandwiches, cod sandwich, double Swiss cheese hamburger, 2 BBQ sandwiches. Yummy crinkle French fries (my favorite), onion rings and friend mushrooms were the sides. I got a yummy root beer float! The price is right and Edward’s food is always good.
Always like Edwards. Love the atmosphere! Wish the self serve pop would come back. Every other place has it now. Not sure why they dont. They also say ketchup shortage but dont understand that one either? No where else do they post that. Puzzling.
Love this place. Sad they got rid of the A1 burger, and the tenderloin is a lot more bland than it used to be but it still has amazing vibes and super yummy food. Plus the BEST root beer!
Amazing food, as always (especially the tenderloin and fried pickles). The place has been here since the 1950s. Amazing food, ambience, and staff.
The food here is so good, and the root beer floats are to die for period. I couldnt eat everything that I ordered either, you get excellent food and excellent service. This place is a place to take your whole family. Loved it...
Awesome place to eat.. delicious food and great service. And the place looks great inside and outside.. I love it..
We came here in search of the pork tenderloin sandwich. The piece of meat was about twice as wide as the bin! It was delicious but a little dry. Cole slaw was very tasty. And must try the root beer!!
Never my first choice. Its like they gave up after getting on DDD.
Root beer in a frosted mug was fantastic. Food was excellent and service was quick and friendly. Highly recommend it.
Great food. Wonderful staff. Curb service in front with car hops or very large dine in seating. Hot spot for locals. Check web site for car shows at this location. Relaxed atmosphere and comfortable. Super clean and well maintained inside and out. Easy parking. Great jute box plays oldies. We had breaded tenderloins and onion rings. Delicious!
Place is going down hill. First the tenderloins now serving warm hot dogs. Get a grip on it Jeff. Your save a buck is costing you customers.
Ive been going there for over 40 years and everything is still the same.. delicious! Make sure to get the house made root beer and onion rings👍👍
Tenderloin was hot and delicious. It was very clean and the girls were very nice 👍
Love me some Edwards chili And grilled cheese sandwich. The root beer is stellar as well!
Good food, good service, we came as a family to treat my husband to lunch who works in the area. Our three children had kids meals, my husband and I had a tenderloin. He had a side of friend mushrooms and I had a side of onion rings. We all had root beer and it was all excellent. I knock off a star only for the portion of mac and cheese with the kids meals. Its very tiny. About three small fork fulls, and its Kraft style macaroni and cheese which we were surprised at. Eat curbside if you dont want to smell like fried food all day though! :)
I would have given higher, but there was things missing that would have made it better. If youre eating chicken tenders dont expect them to present you with sauce and less you ask them for when youre ordering. Ketchup packets or in limited Supply. As well as some other things. I did enjoy my food but those were major issues that I couldnt overlook
Great breaded tenderloin. Fun place to eat a meal
Large Grilled Tenderloins, and Root Beer!!! So delish. I grew up close to this gem, and was back in town, and had lunch with my 89 year old mother. We both loved it. Good memories past and present.
Great place with a great atmosphere. They have a really old diner feel, while keeping the vibe up to date. Their root beer is made in select batches and it could not be any better! I truly come to this particular restaurant for their root beer. Its amazing what a good cup can do to the soul. If you are looking for a great pork tenderloin, then look no further as Edwards drive-in restaurant is the one to spend your money on. Their onion rings are like the state fair where they give you the big outer rings instead of the smaller inner rings. This place is superb
First time here. The tenderloin is amazing. Really cool atmosphere. Will definitely return
30$ and it tasted like a freezer soy burger. Prices keep going up and food quality going down. Used to be one of our favorite places but not anymore.
Perfect weather for chili! Thank you for the hot and delicious dinner 🥣
Best breaded mushrooms in town....service is fast and the food is really good.
Been going here for several years. The onion rings are the best and their hot fudge sundaes are delish. The best part is the customer service. The owners are so nice and their employees are the best!!
I Been coming here since I was a kid. The food has always been good. Milkshakes and onion rings are the bomb!!!!!
An authentic, long-standing drive-in and basic fast food joint. Im sure it has regular customers, who grew up with their food. Unfortunately, for the rest of us, authentic Indiana means boring, unseasoned, and plain. Hamburgers are... Okay. Tenderloins are mealy, and taste frozen. Fries are the typical factory-made crinkle cuts. Onion rings taste like underseasoned, frozen, thick breading.Ill give it 2 stars, on the basis that the food is not hazardous. But over $10 on their burger, fries, and coke is no value.
Best restaurant around. Great food at a good price. Family friendly and just a great time. If you love old diners this place is for you!
Awesone giant tenderloin in Indy. Great food,The restaurant is so 1950 decor, inside and out.
Saw this on Diners. Drive-ins and Dives so we had to check it out when we were in town for Youth Nationals Bowling. Located close to bowling and our hotel, they did not disappoint! Had the famous huge tenderloin and homemade rootbeer with fries. It was amazing! So good we ordered takeout the next day and took back to the hotel! The staff was friendly and it was neat and clean. Would definitely go back if I was in the area.
Unique 1950s feel and tasty dine in meal.Friendly Service
Third time there and its been closed. They say due to lack of labor I say due to poor management.
Must have their giant tenderloins they are so good and tender lol onion rings fries and a root beer float and if you eat in you can listen to the Jude box. Just a great place for one or the whole family. 😃
Of course got the bearded tenderloin, its like their signature sandwich and onion rings. The tenderloin was huge, way bigger than the bin but not as tasty as I remember it, lacks a lil seasoning. The onion rings on the other hand were AWESOME!! Oh and my husband got the broccoli/bacon salad, it was good until I realized the broccoli smells almost expired... Edwards has been there since I was young. It was my oldest sons first job lol.
Edwards, wonderful food and atmosphere. Like going back 50 years in time. AWESOME!
Great spot! My go to whenever I’m in town.
Edwards has been an Indianapolis staple for years. Good food and friendly service. Family owned.
The chili has a bit of sweetness to it lived it there root beer amazing and tenderloin needs two buns and medium thick goodness oh my wish I had one right now for breakfast
Prices were great. Food was good
Tenderloin over cooked, nasty, tastes freezer burnt. Tasted like cat food, wouldn’t even feed my dog this. Mushrooms were good tho
Best tenderloin in town. Great onion rings. All their food is great. Great service.
Ate the grilled chicken and onion rings, service was fast and good. But if get a drink make sure you ask for ice, ketchup was if needing more than 3 is,0.59 cents a pack 😬😳🤔
Foods fantastic a little expensive but its worth it it is very very good
Food was good and hot and the service was great. Will go back again.
Somehow I always forget just how superb the breaded tenderloins are here....think and juicy, never flat and dry. Really delicious. Also had great beer batter dipped onion rings and a fountain cherry Coke. Theyve perfected all three items.Add some Lou Christie and Little Richard from the free jukebox and you have a sublime flashback for your ears and taste buds.***My only complaint would be some loud grumbling by the cooking staff regarding late night orders of chicken strips...we dont need to hear that. Either take them off the menu or just be glad you still have a line of excited customers at 7:30 at night. There are a lot of businesses right now who would love to have eager patrons! Be thankful.
Be going about 50 years Good food @ Good service
Pretty cool little place. Decent food. Worth checking out
Best Tenderloin you will ever have, I used to go here all the time before I moved to Texas. Yet to find one here as good as Edwards.I will definitely be back next time im back in Indy...Keep up the deliciousness
We showed up unannounced with about twenty folks on motorcycles. Adequately staffed for a large group one hour before they closed on a Tuesday night. the restaurant was clean and inviting. We always enjoy ourselves at Edwards drive in.
The food was excellent, the onion rings are so good. The bacon cheeseburger was what a burger is suppose to look an taste.
Overrated. Tenderloin was dry like cardboard. Dont need to return for our search for excellent tenderloins
Absolutely love their burgers, and their onion rings are amazing, should definitely eat here. 4 of us ate for a great price.
Decent food. Could have been a little cleaner. There was also a few flies that were annoying.
Food was good and girl was very nice also that waited on us
Was driving past into Ohio and we saw all the reviews, great places quick and the food was was quality. Probably best rooter Ive ever had
Great people and kinda friendly service. These people here are over worked a d it shows . Also it shouldnt cost 11$ for 2 tiny orders of fries and 2 full cups of ice w a splash of coke. Probably not coming back .
Edwards Drive-In is absolutely fantastic there tenderloins are to die for also the onion rings. Root beer delicious. One of the best drive-ins in Indiana.
Food was delicious and root beer is very good.
They have the best onion rings and give you plenty in the order. I even had some leftover and they were still crispy even after being in the refrigerator.
I got the tenderloin sandwich and it was good as i remembered it when I was a kid.
Food wasnt too bad I guess
Reminds you of a route 66, good food, made right there for you.
Every since I was a kid my mom used to love Edwards tenderloins, and she has passed down that love to everyone of her six children, along with the love of their famous onion rings!!!!I have straight a little bit from the tenderloin but I will never stray from the onion rings I will always bring me back!!!
Classic diner fare served hot and fresh.
Amazing food! The onion rings are the best I’ve ever had. Bacon cheeseburger was great too!
Foods awesome and rootbeer great. Recommend it to all
They are a locally owned business that cares about their customers and community. They have great food including tenderloins and onion rings just like they had there when I was a kid. They have drive up and dine in service that really keep the 50s diner style alive. They even have an old style jukebox playing Elvis and Chuck berry.
Their burgers are good, though Id say a few other places have better ones. My husband loves their tenderloins and will choose this place when thats what hes craving.Im not a huge fan of their fries, but their onion rings are phenomenal. The reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 3 is their root beer! Its amazing! A root beer float is heavenly.I love supporting local businesses, and this place is the areas quaint, local institution. Their burgers are good. The food is hot.
What a fun place to dine, I miss the pre-covid atmosphere, but well get there soon. Good food and friendly service has always been their standard and theyve never fallen short. Thanks!
Edwards Drive-In is awesome. Cool old school drive in vibe and the menu is spot on. And, theres a sweet 60s style juke box with oldies music on it thats free for drive in dining fun!
Coney cheese dogs tenderloins and root beer like i remember
Phenomenal first visit. The service was as good as the food!
The food was so good. That was the first time I have been there. It was worth the trip across town 🙂
