I would strongly warn against anyone considering buying from this establishment on line. Deceitful is not strong enough but that’s as strong as posting rules allow. I Bought a 2013 K1300S from them on line. Being an owner of a 2007 K 1200 GT I’m aware of some of the quirks and failures of the K bikes. Therefore I did my due diligence with the sales staff and was assured it was in tip top mechanical and cosmetic condition and NO, not “as is” condition. We agreed on a purchase price and I arranged for shipment. When I received the bike I started it, put it in gear slowly released the clutch and to my horror heard the clutch shuddering, some call it a judder. Meaning the clutch has issues and, with only 20k miles. Quite sure that was the reason the previous owner traded. I immediately contacted them and was given a complete snow job. When asked what I wanted to do, I said they needed to either take it back and refund me, or pay for the clutch or, at least the materials or split the cost. They refused to consider any of those suggestions, nor offer any resolution. I told them it could not be ridden as there is no way to predict when the clutch would fail. As I’d explained at the time I had already been through this with my 1200GTbut had been reassured by them during pre-purchase discussions that there were no issues. That was a complete lie and they knew selling it long distance would prove problematic as far as any returns. They knowingly dumped there problem at my feet turned around walked away and said Tough Luck, now it’s your problem. The bike? I’ve never put the first mile on it and I don’t have the $4k it would take to fix it. It sits in my garage as a constant reminder of how unscrupulous this dealership is. Save yourself a major headache and stay away from this dealership.
The times Ive come in the staff was very helpful. The shop has a nice selection of motorcycles too.
Great customer service, knowledgable staff and their Bikes are made of quality. Their service department is spot on. If a shop is clean and organized, that tells me they care about what they do and care about your bike too. One mechanic brings his dog to work and it stays in the shop with him. I love the way employees are treated and taken care of. Great environment.
After searching high and low, I finally found a shop to work on my Triumph! Seriously went to all the shops I could find in Cedar Rapids and around Eastern Iowa asking of they work on Triumphs. If we break something on it we cant fix it is what one shop told me. I resorted to walking over to a Triumph rider at a gas station and asked him where he got his worked on. His reply, Dont take it to anyone but BMW in Iowa City! He specifically mentioned Jared. Sage advice. They mounted a tire and came in under the quote they gave me. Jared caught a couple things that need attention on his test drive and it is most definitely go back to their shop for those repairs. I highly recommend these guys for any and all Motorcycle work or even a friendly chat. Great guys! Thanks again.
I was driving home from the BMW National Rally in Billings, when my rear tire needed to be replaced. I called BMW Motorcycles of Iowa City to inquire as to whether they would be able to install a new rear tire and get me on my way. They gave me directions to their dealership, replaced my tire, and had me on my way within 45 minutes. They were friendly, and very helpful. I would highly recommend stopping by BMW Motorcycles of Iowa City if you get a chance. First Class!!
Excellent service and attention to detail. I took my 2005 R1200ST in for 2 factory recalls, and had additional service done while I waited. A defective fuel strip was found during the service, and fixed on BMWs dime. Mechanic and others were great to talk to and very interested in me being more familiar with the workings of my bike. I will be back.
Also experienced exceptional attention to detail, great communication, and good value overall. Even referred me to a paint guy who is at least as talented as the service staff. Will definitely be back!
I own a 1999 BMW R1100RT and have been coming here for service for several years. The staff is very pleasant and nice to work with, they have a wide range of BMWs I could only dream of having along with very nice apparel. I would recommend this place to anyone who has a BMW or any other brand of motorcycle for service.
I can only speak about the service at this dealership as I purchased my K1600 when I lived in Chicago.Mitch and his staff are first class from beginning to end. Just had my K1600 in for 18K service before my trip to Canada. Best vacation ever !!!! No issues as expected. Mitch and his staff just keep me on the road.Nuff said......Bill Phillips
Great selection of bikes, gear, and accessories. Service Dept. Staff and Mechanics are as solid as they come. I have bought several bikes here and do all my service with them. Extra credit because the showroom smells like affluence.
Great staff to work with. Did a great job tuning up my bike. I will definitely be back. Thank you
I love to ride thats where I get my parts they are very helpful
They did an excellent job and explained everything to me. the mechanic also saved all the parts to let me know what he did.
Bad news, my rear bearings went. Good news this place went right to work. Will keep this on my list of good places.
I was very impressed with the professionalism of Mitch, Eric, and Jerad on the pickup, repair and return of my 1999 BMW 1200LT.
Nice shop, good to know I have a place to go when visiting family.
The service department will bend over backwards, and literally work late, to make sure you are satisfied.
BOUGHT MY r1200RTat Ginas . Got great service out of them until sold the dealership. Seems now to be going downhill . Hardly any BMW jackets or apparel. No longer a Schuberth dealer Took my bike their for an oil change and left with a service soon symbol still showing up on my display, pulled back in the service shop and they told me it would be another 40.00 and 30 minute wait after being there 6 hours. I left and will never be back. Take the extra ride to KS for far better service and ask for ED.
Very competent mechanics and fair prices (anything BMW is never cheap). Very competent sales manager as well.
Not much for kids or used like advertised.
Employees here are very friendly and knowledge able. There are not many bikes here but they are very well kept and clean.
Friendly staff, excellent mechanics. Wide selection of BMW bikes.
