It might be part of True Values chain but this a hardware store from back in the day. If youre having trouble finding something they most likely stock it. They have knowledgeable staff and friendly service. When I mentioned back in the day little did I know how far back. The owner showed me a picture of the building in its original design shortly after it was built in 1847 as a general store and another in 1926 with a new storefront both of which Ive posted.

Islip True Value Hardware was was great!They were the only local hardware store that was open during the snow storm, they had shovels (Home Depot didnt), and everything else i needed. They were shoveling the entrance when I pulled up, and they have a plow that clears the parking in front. Very happy.

Best hardware store ever. They always have anything you may need and you are in and out in 5 minutes. (Try to find a 2 inch stainless steel bolt at home depot in 5 minutes..good luck) Doug and his staff are always very helpful and great problem solvers. Their goal is to solve your problems and not just sell you something you dont need.
