I stopped by right around closing time and even though the lights were off, the staff was kind enough to come and ask me of my concerns. At that time, the rear frame was missing a screw and rattling. He placed a screw free of charge and set me on my path. Such service is seldom available! Thank you for the kindness and courtesy.

Fantastic experience here. My husband bought skis and got his boots fitted and I got my snowboard readjusted. The people who work here are above and beyond nice, making us feel welcome to a new town by describing things to do in the area. As bicyclists we will bring our tune up business here come spring after our good experience.

Not too great at servicing vintage velocipedes from the bipedal era dating pre1960s. The tire replacement works well but there is no way im giving up my vintage parts for brand new mechanics all the way around! Defeats the purpose of vintage all together! Oh wait... my old tires! they were ariginal! They said they would save them for me for a sculpture! In the name of art dont throw those away! Two and a half stars for a job half done. Lets see what Ribs can do...Bicycle repair shop next to bangs needs access to a time machine. I give them another two and a half s tires!

Went for ski boot fitting and ski tune up. I have big calves, and couldnt even get my boots to buckle anymore. Jacob (I think?) was very patient with trying multiple adjustments and got my boots to a comfortable place! They were also honest about what I needed on my skis, and didnt upsell, which I appreciated.

I have twice gone to Cayuga Ski and Cyclery for advice and had the owner redirect me somewhere else to purchase the best fitting boot for me. He did not try to sell me something he had. There are not many businesses that do that. Usually the exact opposite. Love the store. Extremely helpful. 5+ stars.

Had a great experience with Henry who helped with bootfitting and mounting our ski bindings. Unfortunately, found the other staff there to be much less helpful and lacking in customer service skills. At a recent trip just to pick something up, one middle-aged gentleman that worked there was outright condescending and rudely questioned why I even came to the store. Ill be taking future business elsewhere

I didn’t have to step foot inside to get my bicycle serviced; the employees met me outside to take and return my bike. Also, they cleaned and oiled my chain when that wasn’t a part of the necessary repair. The price was fair and the work was professional. Great customer service, great value!!!

I recently bought my first road bike from Cayuga ski and cycle, and couldnt be happier with their service. The gentleman who sold me the bike was patient, knowledgeable, and very encouraging. I believe his name was Colton. After about 2 weeks and 150 miles, the bike was just breaking in, making some noise. I called and was told to bring the bike in, and Jason had me in and out of there in an hour or less. These guys know how to repair a bike well, and fast and keep you on the road. I will gladly make the drive from Corning every. Single. Time.

I have lived in Ithaca almost 15 years. I am originally from a major city about 5 hours away. My old shop in the city was good, but never seemed to have the time to really get into details about my repair or ever give me any real advise on anything that i was considering buying. The people at Cayuga are very helpful when comes to questions. (I have had to wait a few days for my repair, but I know that in July when the shop is busy and they need to special order a part for my bike that it could take a few days) I like how they email me that my bike is done along with how much the repair costs. Great shop!

Brought my mountain bike to the shop needing a rear derailleur cable replaced on Wednesday. Had been told on the phone earlier that with the job volume they currently had I could expect it back on Tuesday (I live about 20 miles away from the shop). Service tech came right out of the back of the shop when I came in, took a look and told me if I could wait a couple of minutes he would take care of the repair. 10 minutes later my new cable was installed at a very reasonable price. Out the door I went, had a great ride this morning, and I will be back as a return customer!

Staff was busy and I wandered alone upstairs looking at the bike I wanted—I had done my research and knew which kind of bike I wanted and they carried the brand I chose.Once realizing that the sales person downstairs was helping a demanding ski customer, I went back downstairs and the gentleman behind the repair area was able to help me.He was polite, helpful, answered my questions with honesty. After picking out the bike I chose an after-market seat. They put it in on for me and made sure it was adjusted to the right height. They also took some time to give it a minor tuning prior to me taking it out for a test drive.Despite my initial wait I was happy with the service and the friendly attitude of the people who work there.

They put my bike back into tip-top working order after a tuneup. They also helped me pick out tires to make my commutes around town on my older mountain bike more comfortable. And when there were some small charges on my invoice that hadnt been quoted to me before picking up the bike, I didnt have to pay for them. Honestly this is some of the best customer service and attention to building customer relationships that Ive ever seen. I look forward to going back and being a frequent customer during my time in the grad school at Cornell.

I almost never do this but I feel I need to. Maybe it will help them treat theyre customers better. Theyre costomer service is awful and I have not once walked in there and felt welcome. When I first bought my bike there the guy tried talking me out of it. And could have cared less if I bought one or not. I saw why after only a few rides. The giants they sell are junk. Now I will be totally honest. I converted mine into an ebike. They did not recommend this. In fact they told me not to. But I did not mess with the tires at all and have had many issues with them. So I brought it to them to fix. They took a week longer than they told me it would. And I just had one 6 mile ride on it and its flat again. Lesson learned. Dont ever buy something from a place that tries and talk u out of it and if at all possible, fix your own stuff. Sign of the times I suppose. Guess thats why Amazon is killing businesses like these. And it really shows in there attitude towards theyre customers. DO NOT BUY A BIKE FROM THIS PLACE! you have been warned.

I worked with the store associate Jeff when looking for a new hybrid bike. He was extremely knowledgeable about his products and helped me choose the bike that best suited my needs without upselling or pressuring me to buy. He walked me through possible customizations on less expensive bikes that could better the bike without buying a very expensive one. When I wanted to take a bike on a test ride, Jeff tuned up the bike and adjusted everything for my height and weight. I ended up purchasing a bike from there because of Jeffs great customer service and knowledge! Thanks!

Purchased a bike about a year ago now, performed well but was admittedly under-used.First hard ride and I took the bike in for a break bleed because it was acting funny/had lazy breaking, and threw in a full tune-up as well. Bike was returned to me, and after a single ride was leaking oil from the break system. Brought it back in, and it was returned to me with one working break: the one that hadnt even been leaking. Give it back to them, again, and come back to find a new break installed, but the front break now does not break. Took it back, didnt give them the change to fix it again.Manage to get the rig home and to another shop, to lots of head shaking. They didnt explain it much further than this rig was not put together carefully. The bike was assembled by CSaS.They were, admittedly, accommodating, and seemed apologetic when I took the bike back. So I dont think youll get bad service, or even that you should deny them business. At the best, I drew a bad card. At the worst, theyre not the best at building bikes. Be wary, maybe get your bike somewhere else.

This shop takes too long to get a bike repaired. If you bring your bike to The Bike Rack in the morning it will likely be done by that afternoon. The folks at The Bike Rack are very friendly and most helpful. You will get the best customer service at the Collegetown shop. Cayuga Ski and Bike shop is ok, but the owner is not very friendly. Hes got some good people there and sells great bikes, so if you go on a good day, you might get good service, but dont expect your bike back for a few days if you bring it in for a repair. Same goes for skis. Ive been a customer at both shops for a number of years and I much prefer The Bike Rack for customer service and bike repairs. You can get good boot fitting at Cayuga, which is pretty much the only game in town for skis. But it is good that there is at least a shop that does this in Ithaca.

Out of the couple of bike shops in Ithaca Ive been to so far, I chose to send my bike here for service a while ago. I didnt get any snobbery from them as a casual cyclist interesting in becoming a bike commuter. They happily explained different aspects of keeping my bike in tip-top shape, showed me how to oil the chain and the brakes, and did an excellent job of cleaning and tuning the bike. It was a bit daunting walking in there since I am not really interested in the biking shoes or other things that are for the serious cyclist, but the staff seemed knowledgeable and were quite welcoming. Since then I have been biking all over, reading up on bikes, and have discovered their advice on the money. Best part was that they werent expensive for someone on a tight budget and they didnt try to sell me things that I didnt need or want (but were willing to explain the uses for such things if I asked and gave advice on how I could use it if I so chose). Overall, A+ in my book.
