Sew True is like family! I first went to them for bridesmaids dresses I needed altered. I loved their work so much, I wanted no one else to do my wedding dress! They did an absolutely beautiful job. I’m insanely short, so my dress had to be dramatically altered to ensure it fit me like a glove. They both did an amazing job and helped me feel like a princess. I will never go anywhere else for alterations!

If I could give Sew Alterations 20/10, I would.Lilli and Gorgetta are not only excellent seamstresses but incredible people. I brought my wedding dress to them a month before my wedding (Please keep in mind, I had made an appointment months before but wasnt receiving my dress from the designer until that month before my wedding).From the beginning, Lilli reassured me that everything would not only get done but that she would make sure my dress would fit perfectly and that it would be everything I imagined.At my first fitting, we realized the dress I had purchased was a little flawed--the designer had made the dress for a woman much taller than I making the torso relatively long. This made me panic. But again, Lilli assured me that she would get this done.Lilli took my dress apart, made cuts, and sewed the seams back up making it look FLAWLESS. Her hardwork left my dress fitting me like a glove. Attached are the photos of the amazing job she did. The kindness and reassurance she showed me will always be remembered. I will be coming back with any alterations I will need in the future.

These ladies are amazing! I used them for my high school prom and then seven years later for my wedding! The are not only awesome at their job but they are the sweetest ladies! I would recommend anyone needing an alteration done, especially to a dress to come to them.

It is very difficult for me to explain how INCREDIBLE the team at Sew True is! I have managed Love, a Bridal Boutique in Jacksonville Beach for 6+ years so I have worked with quite a few seamstresses over the years. These ladies are the best of the best. They are kind, patient, extremely fast, and so detail oriented. Our gowns are very delicate and they take great care with each and every dress. I brought a bridesmaid dress here that was too big and did not fit well, I dropped it off and made a sizing appointment and a pickup appointment. She was so helpful and suggested some creative solutions for keeping my undergarments in place! It fits like a glove now, the quality of the work here is amazing. Very kind, professional, and accommodating of my time frame. I would recommend Sew True to anybody who needs their clothes tailored for a big event!

I needed to have my suit tailored for my wedding, but had time constraints to get it done before traveling. I was turned down by a handful of other tailors due to the turn-around time needed. Sew True however, had no issues at all with the timing. In fact they actually had everything done a day earlier than I needed. Georgeta was extremely helpful and was more than happy to work with me, and the work she did turned out excellent. Absolutely recommend to anyone looking for great service, and even better people.

Great service is an understatement! Georgeta not only had my dresses ready for a wedding and bachelorette ready within a couple days but she took the time to listen to my needs and offer recommendations aligning with what I wanted. Ilona and Georgeta are my go-to ladies for anything alterations. They fitted my wedding dress that I wore in Italy and being petite, take care of my regular hemming needs. Lily was truly amazing and I highly recommend Sew True Alterations for your bridal needs. My bridal gown was over 2 sizes too large. Lily was able to not only take my dress in but made it completely custom to my figure. I am so thankful that I found Lily to trust with my bridal gown. Our daughter needed a last minute emergency fix to repair her first communion dress the day before our event since it accidentally tore from trying it on. Wife took it in and the lady that helped was able to jump on it right away and repaired it in less than 10 minutes. Unbelievable how nice, quick and the great job they did. We cannot remember the ladies name and regret asking but we are so grateful and absolutely highly recommend them.

Georgeta and Lily are alteration angels—skilled, professional, and personable. Their work is flawless. Last December, they added shoulder pads to a blazer, cropped another, and took in a silk jumpsuit that was collecting dust in my closet for years. Then in February, I had an urgent request to mend a lace garment just days before Valentines. They responded to my voicemail same-day and finished the job in less than 2 hours...not only repairing the rip but double-stitching the sides to prevent future tears. I have recommended them to friends and will certainly be back with more projects in the near future!

I am from out of town and was very nervous getting a gown for a black tie event tailored in Jacksonville. I was so surprised at what a wonderful job Sew True did. They were life savers. They were able to get a huge job done in a short amount of time. The dress looked wonderful and it was tailored perfectly. The girls are so professional, understanding and sweet. Highly recommend!

I love these ladies! They fixed my prom dress (which needed MAJOR alterations) within three days! They always do an AMAZING job no matter how big or small a project.

I brought my bridesmaid’s dress here to be altered after another alteration place didn’t do as well as I hoped. They said they usually didn’t work on items that had been altered by other people and they weren’t sure if they would have time to fix my dress before the wedding. They said they would do their best to help me and said that it would be ready the day before I needed it. They ended up finishing the alteration way before they thought they’d be able to and they did an amazing job! These ladies are so sweet and helpful. I will definitely be coming back for all my alteration needs!

This place far exceeded my expectations. Sew True altered my wedding gown and it fit me like a glove. The dress was heavily beaded and had several layers of silk tulle in the skirt. It looked like it would be a nightmare to alter but the staff at Sew True had it ready very quickly and the alterations were imperceptible to anyone but me. They sewed cups into the bust and shortened the straps handling every individual bead with extremely delicate care. The women were so honest and thorough that they even returned the scraps of fabric from the hemming process back to me along with the beads they removed from the straps. When I returned months later, the staff remembered me and asked to see photos from the wedding! This is a wonderful small business and I am happy to support people who do such stellar work.

Wow! These ladies do quality work and are extremely affordable. I had my wedding dress taken in, had cups added, and bustled. They went above and beyond to make sure I looked and felt like a million bucks on my wedding day! They were even able to use some of the extra lace that came with my gown to design a matching mask! The service was truly phenomenal! Thank you so much!! Ill be back soon with other items I need altered.

The women at this shop were such professionals. I had a gorgeous dress that was way too long (I am only 53) with beautiful lace details from top the bottom. I was worried that I would lose some of the detail in alterations but I didnt! When it came time to do the bustle after they finished the hem they were so patient with me and we tried so many different ones before I finally saw the perfect one. Also there was a little detail left over that they were kind enough to make me a beautiful garter to keep (I tossed a cheap one at the wedding I got on Amazon). Will definitely be going there for any alterations I need in the future and would highly recommend for any needs you have as well! Brides dont worry! You are in good hands with Sew True!

I got this dress brand new and the first time I went to put it on I noticed the straps were fraying!! I tried fixing it myself, but I ended up having to take it in to these wonderful ladies who got it fixed just in time for my wedding weekend so I was able to take it on my honeymoon. The ladies here are great. They are very knowledgeable about the alterations of fine garments. They do not ever hold back on what they think is correct. Many times, I have asked them to hem my pants a certain way and they will say NO. It is only later that I am glad that they did because my pants always turn out to fit perfectly. I will only take my clothes here for alterations.

Had a bridesmaids dress altered. They did an amazing job! It was ordered online from Amazon and came over two sizes too small and they were able to take it out with it still looking incredible! So impressed with them and how quick they were able to help with short notice!

I went there today for my prom dress with no appointment not knowing you are supposed to, and the lady was very polite took me in and sized me then and there, although she was busy she did everything for me and made a date to have me pick it up, very polite and kind people. They were very delicate with me when helping me put on my dress went above and beyond for my expectations! I most definitely recommend! I will update you all when I get the dress back to tell everyone how well the dress looks!

This is the best seamstress I’ve ever been to! She helped fix a wedding dress. There was so much care and attention to detail. The prices were reasonable and turn around was quick. Both ladies were professional, kind, and genuinely cared about me, my story, and my feelings in the dress! HIGHLY recommend!

I am so rarely impressed with customer service anymore that I think it’s incredibly important to give a shout out when you receive great customer service.Today I went to Sew True Alterations in Jacksonville Beach to get a torn seam of a commercial umbrella fixed. It was just a small job, but it’s used in a commercial business and I needed it done well. Not only did they fix it right away without having me come back, but they also found another area that was coming unraveled and fixed it as well. When I went to pay them, they said don’t worry about payment and wished me a Happy New Year. Mind blown! 🤯 Great small business right here! 👏🏼🙌🏼

My husband and I have used Sew True Alterations many many times! They are great with his suits and worked wonders on a special dress for me for the Kentucky Derby. Wonderful friendly ladies. They have more than once turned over something in a few days or less when I have been in a major pinch. Highly recommend!

This place is very accommodating and the staff very pleasant. My husband is in the service and needed a badge stitched into his uniform asap. I called to see if they did same day alterations and was told that they would be able to. When I got there both ladies were very friendly and I was told to just have a seat and they would sew the badge on immediately. They were able to complete the work within 20 minutes. Will be coming back to this establishment for any future alterations while stationed here in Jacksonville. I would highly recommend this establishment, they are good people.

I had a pair of jeans altered here a while back . I put them on in store and bent at the knees to get a more snug and realistic fit so when she took them up they wouldn’t be too short. She told me “not to do that,” and insisted on straightening them out. They ended up being too short (duh!), I just paid and gave them away 🤣

I have always had great experiences with Sew True. For my wedding last week, I had all of the bridesmaids take their dresses to these fantastic ladies and they did a great job and were extremely efficient in getting them back in a timely manner. My husband had his suit tailored to perfection and has begun taking all of his suits, shirts, and pants there to be altered. He even took his tie in to have the loop moved up several inches. These ladies are incredible.

Two lovely ladies run this business.I called them on extremely short notice to do a major repair on a new jacket that the same had come undone on the shoulder which require taking the inside of the jacket apart making the repair and putting it back together.The repair was made to new standards and completely unnoticeable, I cant even tell that there was ever a saying there that had come undone.The cost was more than fair and I gladly tipped and said thank you. Wonderful experience that deserves to be recommended 100%. I went there with a dress I thought could not be saved and was surprised by the miraculous touch of Geta & Lily’s art. It’s definitely hard to find someone that can do such a great job.

They were very patient and polite! My dress was a lot of work and they did it very well, even sewing some of the clasps back into place. If I need alterations again, Ill definately come back.

I brought my wedding dress there to have it altered, and it required a lot of work. They had to reconstruct the top of my dress (take it apart), and I was hesitant to do so after spending so much money on it. There were beads and crystals encrusted on the top, and I was wondering how they would do it. Well, let me tell you, they did a beautiful job! The dress fit perfectly, and after they took beads off, they sewed them all back on to perfection. They also created a bustle to hold the long train and again, it was gorgeous. If youre wondering where to take your wedding dress to get altered, come to this place! It was also extremely reasonable--less expensive than other places. Also, they only take cash.

I had two hours to change a uniform error. Called a few places around no would do it in such a short window, I called Sew True Alterations. They said sure, come on down, within an hour and half, my uniform was fixed. I would recommend this business to everyone.

The two ladies who run this place went out of their way (seriously) to insure that my linen suit was altered in time for an out-of-town social event, to the point of directing me to a nearby dry cleaners first, knowing that the linen fabric would shrink when first cleaned!They did a fantastic job and i will certainly go back the next time I need something altered!

We are so lucky to have Sew True Alterations at the Beaches. Lily and Georgeta are EXPERT seamstresses. They are European trained and simply the best Ive ever used. Friendly, genuine and accomodating, too.

They are probably good with alterations as many are happy according to the review but Im very unhappy with the way they treated me . They were helpful in the beginning but once I asked them for options or shared my opinion ( since Im the one wearing it ) they just showed no interest . I still asked if I could come back with my mother to make the final decision, they just said No the can not do that and opened the door for me to leave .
