Chose this place because of the ratings. Extremely disappointed in Dan & handled everything. I dropped my car off on a Thursday morning was told Id receive a call during the day with information. Id already told them what was wrong, was trying to save some $$ having them fix vs dealership. This location closes at 6pm and is closed on the weekend. About 3pm I hadnt heard anything so I call.... They hadnt gotten to my car yet. Long story short I didnt get any information until Monday evening. I had to KEEP calling, was guaranteed it would be a 1day fix. I came to come pick my car up Wednesday evening right at closing time and Dan had my car blocked in although he knew I was coming to get my car after continuously getting the runaround from him. He came out with an attitude saying he would have it fixed by the next day. VERY BAD SERVICE, EXPERIENCE WITH THIS LOCATION 😒

I recently had my car diagnosed at AAMCO and they told me that I needed a new engine I took it to another place and my engine was fine I just needed a radiator so I do not recommend anybody to take the car to AAMCO Rip off

I would be careful with these guys! I brung my car here and was told I needed a new engine and transmission because the car wouldn’t turn over they quoted me nearly 7 grand to fix it but little did they know I was a tech at one time and knew it was a bad torque converter and my engine was fine long story short I took the car to another shop and had it fixed for 1,400 bucks out the door!!!

I love this AAMCO! Any time I have a problem, they have 100% fixed it, over the life of 7 different cars for the household. Their diagnostics are so accurate that Ive gone in fully expecting one problem only to be told that it was something much simpler and cheaper to fix. They have never tried to scam me or sell me services that I did not need, even when I had expected to need those things.And my roadside assistance can tow my car and drop it off in the middle of the night if necessary. AAMCO will just contact me in the morning to ask what I need. I love this shop!

Had them stop an AC leak and diagnose an AC issue involving consistent hot air coming out no matter what position I put the temperature dial at. Diagnosis was correct as I replaced the blend door actuator myself and now my AC is running effectively this summer.

I had some concerns about my transmission. Dan and his crew quickly diagnosed the issue and took the necessary action. My car feel brand new now.

Should be called SCAMCO!! They tell you that diagnosis is completely free until they have your car in the shop. Then $189 for electrical diagnosis, $450 for removal, open and inspection and god only knows what charges come after that. I am sure you get another charge to reinstall if you decide not to fix your car. Long story short if you want to spend $1000 dollars to find out how much it is to fix your car, you have come to the right place, enjoy!!

This is the BEST place to take your car for work. I had them check 6 things, but only 2 needed service. Anywhere else it would have been problems with at least 8 things. Seriously, its hard to find honest mechanics. Im glad I found this shop years ago.Thanks-Doc

I went to AAMCO because of my differential. It’s not easy to find a place that will do a differential. They were very honest about the cost and up front with how everything would be. I felt the price was high but they did offer a great warranty over the part. They were the company I needed when I had a difficult job that needed done.

Took my RV to get my fan controls and AC serviced, Dan and crew did a great job. All worked great after the service call, cost was fair and as estimated. Always my go to place for care repairs and evaluations. They are professional, respectful, honest and dependably all at a good price. Trust me, I have learned by lesson by going to other poor quality and dishonest auto repair shops. Avoid the headaches and having to repeat work done on your car because of those other lousy shops, just go to AAMCO the first time. You will not regret it.

I recently moved to the Mandarin area. Yesterday i visited the Aamco shop in San Jose for an automatic transmission re-check. The receptionist was very informative & friendly. Then the service manager checked my 1963 thunderbird and gave me the re-check certificate. The service manager was very knowledgeable and friendly. Im very skeptical of most mechanic shops, because you never know whos going to be up front and honest and who will take you for unnecessary expenses. These folks at AAMCO were extremely helpful. They diagnosed my vehicle and fixed a major part of my transmission, explaining that it wasnt necessary to buy a whole new transmission, but just one part. I just wanted to say that I brought my Ford Explorer in last week for a transmission flush. The manager Mark called my Husband and told him that we would need a new transmission, a used one or a rebuild. He perfectly explained the difference in the three to not only my husband but kindly repeated it to my self when asked. We ended up going with the rebuild because it was the best option for us. I was thoroughly shocked at the great customer service Mark has given to myself and my husband whenever we called and asked questions about the vehicle. All in all the price was great for the work that was done. I picked it up today and instantly felt the difference when pulling out of the parking lot. A great experience overall. It was a pleasure working with Mark and the other staff. My 2000 Lexus rx300 needed a new radiator after the original began leaking. I brought my car in around 1 on Monday and it was ready by 2 on Tuesday. Total cost was around $650. Great and clear communication. It has been 3 days since and everything is good so far. Thank you. My Armada went into limp mode...with a bad module...Mark called after his guys tore it down....he said he didnt think I burned it up but for around the same price or maybe a little more he recommended a total rebuild and a new factory module....the cost was $4000.....when he called and told me the news I was ready to junk the truck, thinking that was too much money to drop into a vehicle with 200,000 miles....Mark actually talked me into the rebuild with the argument...what used vehicle are you going to buy for that price where you know you have a 36000 mile warranty on the trans, and you know the vehicle inside and out.....(the truck is actually in fantastic mechanical and visual condition.....). Mark was right on every argument....I waited a while before writing this review to make sure everything was working good with the rebuild!!!!10,000 miles later I am thrilled with the work aamco in Mandarin has done...my truck runs like brand new....and Im going to run it till the wheels fall off.....thank you again mark

Mark, Stephanie, and the whole crew at AAMCO are always so friendly, resourceful, and thorough. Theyve replaced my dads transmission and compressor and my rear main seal along with a couple of oil changes. They really do display a warm, small-town hospitality that is a rare find. Mark always bends over backwards to make sure the job is done right. San Jose AAMCO is definitely a keeper! Wouldnt think twice about taking my car anywhere else.

The customer experience was really important for me. About 20 years ago I blew a GM transmission while I was on the road and I literally coasted into the local AAMCO in the town where I was. The staff at the time was very polite, and helpful and sent me on my way with a very quality job on the replacement. A few weeks ago the manual transmission in my 2006 Scion XB started to make a bearing noise similar to a bad wheel bearing. I spoke to the representative there about having it checked out. I informed the representative that I was keeping the vehicle around for a while and I wanted the transmission to be like new. The AAMCO representatives were all very helpful and professional. Throughout the entire time that the vehicle was in the shop the staff was very patient and courteous with all of my questions. I was very pleased with the work that was done at the San Jose location. On the last day of my experience I met Dean Black who is an awesome store owner. The customer service skills that Dean possesses are incredible. Dean was very patient and customer oriented. I was very pleased with my experience and give several accolades to the entire AAMCO Staff at the San Jose location in Jacksonville, Florida.

Pretty good place. Works on nearly everything on your car, accept maybe body work.

Will not tell you whats specifically wrong with your transmission if its having multiple issues. Will be you financed though westcreek fiances company to fix your transmission. Only to try to charge you more 1500 in labor . Will try to get you to buy a whole new transmission instead of trying to rebuild your old one. Will charge you 800 dollars to take out your transmission and put it back in but not put on your recipe what parts it needs. If your having serious transmission problems just get a used one from co parts and go to the local small business repair shops

Amaco solved my auto concern first with suggesting to issue a diaognosis which ultimately saved time and money by getting right to the auto defect. Dan was punctual with the repair and his expertise makes me determined to have Amaco 2000 VW Beetle in his shop for all future services.

This is the most professional and thorough contact I have had with any auto repair shop. I had to decide whether or not to repair a Honda transmission or get rid of the vehicle. Dean helped me process the options and the economics of each choice. We repaired the transmission and it has been great. I also appreciate the nation-wide guarantee since we were going to be traveling. We also had a Mazda clutch go out and I got the same great service as before. We have an 02 Lexus LS 430 that was throwing a knock sensor code. After an initial diagnosis, the guys at AAMCO said they suspected it was electrical, and quoted a very reasonably priced diagnostic fee. Unfortunately, the problem was not that easy. After 5 weeks, it was finally solved, and the final price was under the quote. I understand 5 weeks is a long time, but we were fortunate enough to have family help us out. After it was all said and done: they were friendly, honest, and an overall pleasure to work with.They have my familys business for life...and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you to Mark and Dean for providing such wonderful service. You are a perfect example of what every company should strive for.

I would NOT recommend this location. The management seems to have all the answers and NO results. Not once but twice I’ve had bad experiences at this AAMCO, I was speaking to a friend and it seems he had had the same problem where we brought a working car and end up having to tow it half way back home. Mark is very condescending and not nice at all. Beware of the classic “salesman” he only cares to put money in his own pockets.

Before You Take Your Car To Fix At The One On Atlantic Blvd, Make Sure You Check Any Recalls,I Was Charge $2074.02 For A New Clutch,They Only Took 100.00 Off My Bill, But Yet I Had To Tow My Car Twice To The Dealer.They Had My Car For 10 Days,Then They Told Me It Was A Recall, They Charge Me 900.00 For Labor Really? Very Bad Lost Money For Nothing!

We had our van towed to this shop to get work done. It would not start up and couldnt drive it at all. When we got our van back it started up great, drove great. They fixed the issue at hand. My van is an older van and apparently started cutting out again and shaking the other day. So not sure whats wrong with it. Also when we got our van back from this shop the handle on the drivers side door inside was broken! Cant get out now unless I open it from outside the window. A little upset about that, but the major problem had been fixed. Thank you for getting my van operable again!

I dealt with a gentleman named Marc and he explained each step taken in order to fix my transmission in a way even I could understand it. Im a spaz and not was Marc patient with me, but the entire staff whenever I called. I drive for a living so I was overly anxious even though it didnt take long at all...Ive had my baby back 3 days, been back to work and shes running like a dream, engines purring, transmissions catching gears, Im a very happy camper, I love my Chevy...lol

Transmission issues? Dont take your car anywhere else. I wasted time and money taking my car to the dealership, where all they wanted to do was replace the transmission for a big price. I brought my car to AAMCO for a 2nd opinion, and I am glad I did. They were extremely thorough and went through all the options available to me based on what was wrong with my car. They actually diagnosed the specific issue, other than just telling me the transmission was not working (which I already knew), and calculated out the best option financially (rebuilding vs replacing the transmission). If considering other places, just stop looking now, as their customer communication alone is worth choosing AAMCO over competitors, and is honestly what all businesses should strive for.

I was pushed to go out of town the next day and was not sure if the issue. AAMCO laud outcthe plan and got me back on the road earlier than promised the next day. Great job!!

He is real quick to state his expertise and bad mouth his competitors but he runs from responsibility when his work fails. Not only did he charge a unreal amount for a transmission that didnt last 38000 miles but also tried to sell me a waterpump and fuelpump stating they would leave me stranded any day. Thank God I saw through that story because neither ended up faulty. However, when the transmission failed he sent me to another AAMCO since I was out of state. Ignoring the other AAMCO or two other competitors opinions he continued to stated that he has NEVER had a transmission fail under 50,0000 miles. The other AAMCO let me know just how big of a lie that was and the competitors called it laughable. As of 15 minutes ago he stuck to that comment and said that the other AAMCO couldnt speak for him even though he sent me there. Now that I am reading other reviews on this site ( Yelp)my opinions are confirmed. HE LIES!! In short, he is a great presenter selling the services of a very poor mechanic / repair shop. This is by far the best auto repair shop I have used in my life. They are honest and do phenomenal work, and have excellent customer service I would recommend them to anyone seeking auto repairs. I brought them a 2002 ford F150 that had been in my family for about 8 years to have them do a complete inspection, they looked over the entire vehicle at no charge and gave me a estimate to fix the problems they found again at no charge. I decided it would be cheaper to get a good used 2000 ford F250 diesel mainly because the other truck had to many issues with it mileage was too high to justify fixing it. I had them do a complete inspection on my 2000 F250 and again there was no charge for the inspection, they again gave me a estimate on what they found wrong with it. Through out the entire process Mark Lee went the extra mile as well as the service technicians they had to keep me up to date with what was going on and why it possibly was wrong in the first place as well as what they could do to prevent future problems. The entire staff is phenomenal and are extremely fair and very meticulous in working on any of the vehicles I may need work on in the future. In my honest opinion this is the best shop in Jacksonville, I actually switched to this shop because the shop I used to take my vehicles to for 10 years rejected looking at my 2002 F150 due to being so busy said they didnt have time to just look only repair. Unfortunately for the old shop I used Aamco was closer and there reviews were just as good as the old shop but more importantly Mark Lee and Dean Black said it would be there pleasure to look at it for me at no charge and from what I could see they were a lot busier than the old shop I went to. Hands down the best shop in Jax. Thanks again for your honesty, patience, expertise and most of all your phenomenal customer service.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Just like the one star review under myself. Dean A. Black us probably one of the most manipulative mechanic shop owners I have ever met. He will easily charge you double what the average cost to repair is. Tricks you into giving some confirmation to work on your car even without getting consent, leaving your car in a dismantled and inoperable condition then charge a ludicrous amount just to put it back together, or charge even a higher amount (double average service cost) to fix it. The car will be worked on for 2-3 weeks at the minimum causes even more problems unless you have a 2nd car. The only way to be treated properly is to lawyer up, further showing their actions are illegal. Its amazing after they see you know what you are doing and you are not afraid to contact your lawyer and bring out any audio recordings, how much they can reduce the price. Funny how they couldnt do that at the beginning.

Only place I take my car. Manager and Owner are extremely responsive and willing to work around my budget. Highly recommend!!
