A good trustworthy mechanic is hard to find, but you found it. New to the area and not knowing where to go I took my suv for an oil leak. Dropped it off Sunday night. They looked at it, told me the problem, the price, and they could have it Thursday afternoon. Well it was Friday but no big deal at all. They did just what they said for the very fair price they said (and rotated my tires for free because it took an extra day). Courtney is awesome. I highly recommend.

Honestly after reading some of the one star reviews I believe those people aren’t fully telling the truth. I dropped my car off to S&S Automotive yesterday for a diagnostic test, they called me back this morning with the issue and what needed to be fixed on my vehicle! Courtney is seriously the sweetest person and genuinely wants to help me to get my car repaired and back on the road. The price that was given for parts and labor in my opinion was fantastic because I was so scared it was going to cost me an arm and leg to fix my car and that’s why I’m very hesitant on taking vehicles to automotive shops. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone! Very nice and respectful people work here. Thank y’all so much for your hard work and dedication!

My tension pull for my work truck broke on a way to a job, I got the truck to their shop and I had a fair price for the repair and I was in and out in less than 2 hours. They are top notch and do great work. I would highly recommend them!!!!!!

I brought my car here for a detent cable on my transmission and to have a fuel line re run and fuel pump put in the gas tank. Told me a week to start on my car and didn’t do that. I had to keep call every week asking about my car and they still didn’t fix my car the right way! I’m still dealing with the same problem I paid 1481.97 for!!!! This is not the place for good quality work and will lie to your face and smile at the same time. They had my car ( 1990 caprice) from March 22,2021 to May 7,2021 for a fuel line and fuel pump. Tell me to bring it back to them for what??? You had enough time with it. Never go here for service again.

My car sat at their shop for 2 weeks. My car never was look at. I felt I was lied too about my car being looked at. Poor communication and service. I dont recommend using them.

Dont expect an accurate timeline. Apparently they dont have appointments, which is baffling. Your car may or may not be fully repaired, but it will most likely at least run. Both times I went there, I had to bring the car back for the same problem. Twice is not that nice..

I have used S and S several times and have no complaints about them only the very best to say about Hardy and those he manages. Hardy is very meticulous about diagnosing and making sure things are fixed right the first time. He calls promptly when a new problem arises and explains everything to me very patiently until I understand what happened with my vehicle. The staff and crew treats you like family. Even though I do not live nearby, I plan my trips to Jacksonville so they can work on all my vehicles, tail lights, expensive rear view mirrors and everything in between.

While traveling through Jacksonville from Massachusetts we started having AC trouble. We kept trying different places but everyone was too busy. I called S S auto and spoke with Christine ... she said “sure we will take a look”. S&S reminds me of the repair shop everyone took their car to back in the little town I grew up in. It’s not because it was the only shop, it’s because the folks at that shop were friendly, there to help, fixed what needed fixing, did it right and charged a fair price for the work. They were definitely there for us when we showed up at their door with a huge problem that had my wife and I stranded as we were passing through from Atlanta to Cape Canaveral on our motorcycle. It would have been easy to say, drop it off and we’ll have it done tomorrow… but they jumped-in with both feet, had parts delivered, repairs made and we were on our way in just a little over two-hours. Thank you, thank you, thank you…. I’d love to have a shop like S&S in our town!

I had a bit of an emergency when filling up my gas tank at the station next door to S & S. The car immediately struggled and stalled on low RPM. It drove fine all morning so the immediate assumption was bad gas which requires dropping the gas tank, draining it and flushing the fuel lines.The awesome mechanics at S & S found a disconnected vacuum hose, that by pure coincidence causes the same symptoms as bad gas. They found that the hose had wiggled loose over time. Instead of continuing costly work on the gas tank, they reattached the hose, ensured my gas was safe and engine was running perfectly again.They sent me on my way, proud to call them my new mechanic shop. I wont trust my car to anyone else! Hardy and his team are amazingly kind people, wonderful to speak to and truly care about doing the right thing! Id recommend them to anyone!

My trail blazer broke down Sunday, S&S towed my vehicle Sunday and had me back in my car Monday when I got off work. Was driving through Jacksonville on I95 from Savannah GA headed to Destin FL when one of the trailer tires studs sheared off and I lost a wheel. I was towed to SS by Jimmy’s Towing and was seen promptly at 8am by Hardy and his crew. Even though they normally do not do trailer repairs they tracked down the parts needed, which was not an easy feat, and even returned and reordered parts when the wrong ones came in. The customer service was top notch and sitting there all day I got to see first hand how hard all of the crew and customer service people work. They were constantly having people pop in or call and accommodated everyone they could. They got me back on the road and the cost of the repair was very very reasonable. No price gouging and were very concerned that I still had 300 miles on my trip. Even loaded the boat back on my vehicle for me. Would recommend them for all your auto repair needs. NAPA parts certified and trust me, I saw first hand how they will return a part in a heartbeat if it is not top notch. Definitely 5 star service for me.

Rip-Off: This the worst place to go and ask someone to look at your car. I had information from a diagnostic test to provide S&S and I explained that I live in the neighborhood and I watched my car sit in the same spot for hours, when I called the car was moved only to have someone look at the door (only one issue). Then close to closing, I called again and I was told that it would be the next day- after 9 the next day still no quote on the service. Then the person called back with one part of the repair information (poor service)...then S &S quoted a price that was unbelievable, so I asked to pick up my car...then this person Hardy calls and stated he would give me my car for a diagnostic of $65 no print out of the diagnostic and while waiting - Hardy was on the phone with a angry customer - explaining prices. After leaving, I went down the street and the oil cap was left off, the door panel hanging and my tire was cut (new tires). Please dont leave your car, they will charge for a diagnostic (with no explanation) and they have a sign that states they are not responsible for things taking from your vehicle. I called back and they stated they will order an oil cap and no response and S&S close for today!

Where to begin. Went in for a good bit of work. Primarily wanted windows fixed (88 Olds Ciera). Dropped car off before Hurricane Irma hit (9-8-17). Just got the car back Friday (12-1-17) after refusing yet another search for your part. After about 3 mos., I go to pick up my car and only the oil has been changed. SMH... Ricky isnt there anymore. Hes about a mile down the road. Started up his own shop - 10738 New Kings Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32219.F.Y.I. - If they say they will call you back 95% of the time they wont (two returned calls of calling approx. 2x week for 3 mos.

They suggested and did a transmission fluid flush and filter change on a failing transmission. Charged about 400-450$ for replacing a power windows regulator. The part alone was 263$. I work on cars all the time and Ive never bought a window regulator that pricey, especially for a 2002 Saturn. Anyway, they did a complimentary ac recharge and replaced 2 shrader valves on the ac.

Traveling break down.... 3 hrs later new bearing... and on the road... great service with southern hospitality... thank you...

I had my firebird there to have a motor put in i furnished the motor, new heads, all the gaskets, water pump, plugs and wires. the orivinal quote was $800.00. when i got the car there it was $1,300.00. i just wanted it fixed including the water leak which was not fixed nor did they put on the new head bolts. they didnt install provided transmission dipstick tube it is still in my back seat. not even sure the new heads got installed. made them a list to go by which was for the extra $500.00 supposedly, but none of it was done but the motor. had new alternator and battery in it but they claimed it was bad and charged for a new alternator. definately will never take my car there again and may even peruse legal help. worst shop ever! note i had my car in there in January for ignition switch and got car back with steering wheel not even hooked up! owner blamed it on his mechanic but i told him that is no way to run a business. he said it was an acxident so i tried to give him the benefit of the doubt big mistake. my car wont even turn off now i had to disconnext battery and alternator to get it to shut off. what a waste of money!!!!!! and to top it off these dumbasses put regular coolant in a dex coolant system only!!!!!!!! they just ruined my whole damn system what the hell DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THESE RETARDS THEY WILL DESTROY UR VEHICLE!!!!!!!!! the worst part is i went by the next day 7/25/17 to see if he would honor what he promised to do and he told me he will not and he put my used motor in. well the actual motor isnt broke but my ignition is and you didnt do what u said now my cooling system is messed up too. see ya in court s&s automotive

Customer service is horrible. They argue with you and hang up on you. Do work thats not needed. Excuses why vehicle not ready. Had ours for 8 weeks. Dont go there.
