Awesome customer service, bought a used kayak that was purchased from them and ask them for a checkup and run through for me. Adam took his time and his explanations were clear and concise. Adjusted somethings and when i asked about other items, he showed me all the important details so i could make my own decision about the items. He did not try and sell me anything but showed me all my options which was very refreshing, Atmosphere at Black Creek was invigorating, they wanted to help me anyway they could with no pressure applied. Also drove 2 hours to get there and will do it again when i need anything else.

I was greeted the moment I walked in the door. I mentioned the two kayaks that I was interested in and in no time, there was a demo of each model in the lake behind the business waiting for me to try out. I highly recommend going to an outfitter where you can demo because I was planning to buy one model, but after trying them both chose the other model. After attempting to tandem kayak, we decided to take lessons from Adam at Black Creek. We tried tandem and single kayaks and realized we like single kayaks. For a few months, we rented different kayaks or returned to Black Creek to try their models. The Hobie Outback has the stability we needed, and the freedom of the pedal drives to navigate while photographing. Now were also enjoying fishing with our kayaks.We dont have room in the yard for a trailer, and I wanted the trailer to lift over our SUV in the garage. We worked with several folks from Black Creek who were all patient as I tried to get the dimensions right for our kayak trailer and install a garage lift. Once I had the lift and trailer, we brought our new Hobie Kayaks home!Our Yakima Rack and Roll trailer is impressive, we drove 300 miles last weekend, and you forget its behind you. We lower the garage lift, hook it up, and off we go. We also purchased a Yakima roof rack for gear and fishing rods. The quality is outstanding, and everything is easy to attach/remove.

While I havent visited the store yet, I ordered two Hobie kayaks on line from Black Creek Outfitters calling as well to learn about delivery options. Best place to go to for car racks in the first coast area! I live in Fernandina Beach and they were the closest place that had what I needed in stock. They installed my racks for free right at closing and were super informative and friendly. My daughter and I also enjoyed browsing their store while we waited. Weve already referred several friends to them and will continue to!

I wanted to get a roof rack for my car to put my bike up there. I was clueless about everything dealing with roof racks. I couldnt find anyone in the Savannah, GA area to help me. I decided to broaden my search and just randomly called Black Creek Outfitters.I was surprised (in a positive way)! They took the time to explain everything to me and offer recommendations. When I arrived to get the rack installed, everyone that I encountered in the store was very helpful and nice. During the installation, they also took time to explain how it all worked. Today I was enjoying a kayak trip with my wife at silver springs and I had a catastrophic failure with my Mirage Drive. We called Adam at Black Creek Outfitters and he assured us he could have that repaired today and if not he would give us one to use until it could be repaired. This meant a lot to us as we are on vacation and planned several trips to springs close by. We got there around 2:30 and they were busy. He looked at it and informed me it was all warranty work on my 2019 Hobie and he could have it done in less than 30 minutes. No lie he had it done in about 25 minutes and it didn’t cost me a dime. I would highly recommend this place to my mother. And I love my mother in case you were wondering. Great customer service and i will be back again and again. They have my business for life.

I like the store and especially the employees very much. They KNOW kayaks, sups and foils. I learned to efoil there and Dasher is great. Prices are MSRP, but show them where you can get it at a better price and you will be pleasantly surprised.I only give the store 4.9 stars ( and I cant wait to make it 5 ) because the lesson paperwork, especially the digital on the tablet. Got to be able to make a customer record and have all that fill in on your next visit. Especially since the UI on the tablet is about 3 stars.

Today I went into Black Creek to finally test out which kayak I wanted between the Oldtown Autopilot 136 and the Hobie 360. The staff there was very nice and knowledgeable. They helped me out and answered all my questions. After choosing the amber Oldtown Autopilot 136 they informed me they just got some in and I’ll have to wait until the truck was unloaded but the owner Mr. Butler let me know I could still get it today. Mr. Butler personally called me and let me know my boat was ready for pickup. Also when I got to the warehouse Mr. Butler let all his employees leave and helped me load it up himself. He gave me some more insight which made this huge buying process amazing. I really appreciate the staff at Black Creek for going above and beyond for me. Can’t wait to get this rig on the water in the morning. Tight lines.

This place is amazing... I found that they had the Kayak (even the color) that I had been looking for in stock while searching online at all the Hobie dealers in the southeast region. I purchased it online (also a 5 star rating), called the store to verify that they had it in (super nice on the phone) and drove the 4.5 hours to pick it up. Not being incredibly familiar with the Hobie Outback, aside from all the information I have read online, the owner spent a long time going over every aspect of the boat to assure I had no questions. After finding a sticky locking mechanism for the drive system he immediately stopped and replaced it for a more smooth insertion. I cant say enough about the quality of customer service that I received from Black Creek Outfitters, and I will definitely be back for future purchases.

We took delivery of our two Hobie Pro Angler 14 kayaks and Yakima side by side trailer earlier this year. Although highly experienced in boating and fishing, kayaks are a new adventure as we begin our retirement years. We just spent two weeks in Anna Maria Island with the grandkids and our oldest son and daughter. The trailers performance to and from Tampa Bay exceeded all expectations. My husband and I took the kayaking for beginners class as weve wanted to go kayaking but thought we should do the lessons first. Our instructor Kyle was great. He did a really good job teaching us the differences in kayaks (sitting in vs sitting on top of), strokes needed to steer the kayak and safety/rescue do and donts. Was a fun 75 minutes and we now feel confident to go out and kayak on our own. Glad we took the class!

My experience with Black Creek Outfitters was better then one could hope for. When I decided on a kayak I liked online I was eager to find a local store that carries it. I was able to take my time and check out every nook and cranny of my kayak. I was able to take it out on the lake they have outback and paddle around for a bit. They asked questions about what I was looking for and made sure the kayak I was looking at would fit my needs. The owner Joe is extremely helpful. I had a manufacturing defect with my kayak and without hesitation they fixed the defect. Even after I made a mistake installing a rod holder they were eager to help and make sure I was happy. After my experience with Black Creek Outfitters my dad also decided to purchase a kayak. After I talked to them they wanted to know both how I and my dad like our new kayaks. Overall you cant go wrong buying a kayak from them. The moment I need a new kayak I know who to call.

These employees are awesome! Great experience. Bought paddle boards a while back and let us test them out before using them and even offered to help strap them down on the vehicle. Went back to buy a kayak which I thought was going to be able to fit in my car but it was too big so Adam, one of the employees, offered to personally drop it off at my house on his way home. Could not thank them enough. Definitely would be back for any of my other outdoor sport needs!

Just moved to Jacksonville from San Diego and had a hobie pa 14. It was great for doing all of the offshore fishing in deeper waters so I decided to get an Outback as it is much shallower and more inshore oriented in florida than So Cal waters. I figured a shorter lighter kayak would be an advantage. The staff at BCO was very helpful and even gave me 10 percent off of any extras for it. Very pleased with the experience.

The last time I tried to kayak was when I was about 12 and living in Italy, not speaking the language well. I had flipped the kayak and got caught underneath. Wasnt a good time for me. 17 years later I decided to try again, here at Black Creek Outfitters via the MeetUp group. Did I flip the kayak again? Yes, 3 times actually but thats because I got ahead of myself. Had a great instructor, (Kyle, I believe. If im wrong, my bad) who used my mistakes as teaching moments for how to rescue a partner.(the cowboy rescue is cool, but I cant horse around with it.) It was a very welcoming, informative, and patient experience. Your never too old to try new things and kayaking is something you should try at least once.

We took a beginner kayak class from Adam. He was laid back but detailed in a compact experience. All supplies and kayaks were provided. It gave me the confidence to feel comfortable paddling in the creek near our home. It also didnt cost a fortune. I would recommend both the class and Adam to anyone thinking about enjoying a kayak.

I have bought two, very serious Mountain Hardware tents at Black Creek (3 season convertible tent and a 4 season tent) I love the products they carry...clothing, camping/hiking gear, footware...anything you might need for outdoors, you can buy at this place.This is the only place in NE Florida that I know of that carries Mountain Hardware gear, which can be hard to find.

I cant say enough good things about the folks at Black Creek Outfitters. I contacted them about a Hobie I was interested in, and I immediately received a response. They were very patient with me while I decided on what exactly I wanted, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was so impressed with the service over the phone that I decided to drive over 8 hours for pick up, instead of delivery which they offered, so I could meet the folks running the show and check out the actual store. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted, and assisted with getting my kayak picked up, it was ready and waiting for me that doesnt always happen! I perused the store awhile, which is well worth the visit. they have a very clean, well displayed storefront. I was so impressed that I contacted a friend to brag about my new kayak and the folks at Black Creek. Before leaving I was back inside preparing a quote for him! Also, service doesnt stop when you pick up and leave. On the long journey home I noticed that part of my purchase was of an older version than expected. I reached back out to Black Creek, and they immediately responded with a solution to rectify the situation at no cost to me. I honestly cant recommend Black Creek Outfitters enough. Everything about our experience with Black Creek has been extraordinary. The staff is knowledgeable, patient and helpful beyond every expectation and imagination. April spent the better part of 2 entire days getting us outfitted with our first ever kayaks and accessories. The selection is vast and the prices are comparable to online. Perhaps the best part is the lake in the back where we got to test drive our kayaks and paddles. This group has earned our complete confidence and undying loyalty, which is pretty rare.

If you love kayaks, you owe it to yourself to visit. The fellows here are knowledgeable about all things Kayaking, river sports and saltwater rigs. What is unique is the lake they have access to next to the building, complete with dock and tiedown cleats. I tested two of the Kayaks, a Hobie PA 14, and a Wilderness System Radar 135. Between this comparison, The Hobie was miles ahead in every measurable aspect. But this is my opinion, you should try it out for yourself. Stop on by.

Excellent staff from the owner to the sales team. I have had several employees wait on me even though Adam is the one who handles my sales primarily and they all have the same attitude...Courteous, knowledgeable and can do attitudes. I have bought several kayaks and would never order anything anywhere else, no matter the cost. I met the owner accidentally when he was at the store across from their location when he complimented me about my jeep. After chatting with him you could tell why his staff is as good and as caring as they are. I never knew he was owner till I told him I just left his store. Genuine guy and business is Tops!

Dropped by to pick up some Cub Scout uniform items and was super impressed with the store. The staff was very friendly and helpful! I was thrilled to find that I can get Scout stuff without going across town! Will definitely be coming back to check out the outdoor gear.

My husband and I took a kayak class on a Saturday morning at Black Creek Outfitters. We have had several encounters with manatee on the rivers and wanted to learn how to rescue ourselves if we were ever overturned in our boats. Trent was an excellent instructor. He taught us the basics of paddle strokes and provided us with constructive feedback as he observed our techniques. He was professional, courteous and we enjoyed the class! We also learned how to rescue ourselves if needed. Thank you Black Creek and Trent.
