Good variety of everything involving sporting goods. The store is about 40 % clothing and footwear. The best prices I have found on footwear in the area.Good selection of kayaks in stock.Overall a good place to start if looking for hard to find items. I probably shop here 4 times a month.

I am always impressed with the breadth of options here at Academy. Love the fact that they continue to sell traditional sporting equipment and haven’t bowed down to the Political climate like Dick’s. Plus they have better prices. Also love the broad selection of shoes and apparel.

Nice store. This location seems to have more stock and better option over the one closer to us. I rate 4 stars for a good experience and 5 stars if a place goes above and beyond. The reason for only 3 stars is we pushed one of their help buttons in the bike section and waited 10 minutes while several employees walked right past us doing tasks. I have done, managed, run, and trained customer service all my life. Customers always come before tasks such as stocking, cleaning, ext. This store seems to ignore their help buttons as we watched another customer press one in camping and no one came so they walked away. Going out on a limb I am going to say they are loosing sales because of this. Other than that prices seem decent and they have signs saying they will beat competitors price by 5%. Will have to test that one day and see how smooth that process goes. Over all a fairly pleasant experience but they definitely have some work to do on the customer service side of things after all if it were not for customers there would be no point of even being there.

This store is laid out well and the associates were very nice. Not a lot of shoppers, but plenty of associates if you had any questions. Firearms were scarce but there were some availability. Ammo even more scarce. Background checks come back in a flash and done within 30 minutes. 5 days wait on handguns.

This is a terrific place to shop & spend your money. Dont forget to grab a shopping cart. LOL

They have some great deals on sneaks etc. when they run promotions ( also Nike deals, Adidas etc great deals especially on sneakers on Hot Deals). Although its touch and go on the availability on stock.. I deff recommend for value

I prefer Academy to all the sporting stores. Nice layout with plenty of space. Do not feel crammed while shopping and have decent prices. Thankful they still supply firearm parts and supplies. I wish they put more of an effort to stock more reloading supplies. This store had limited options. Not just for the bullets themselves, but also for tools and equipment needed to complete the tasks. I know its tough to get those supplies now, but some vendors manage to squeak out supplies.

This is absolutely my favorite store in Jacksonville. If you love the outdoors or your an athlete, then this store is just for you. Their employees are very helpful, and they always have what Im looking for.

20210621 _ 1339 _ god forbid your child has a meltdown. Just left the store unfortunately my 2 year old was having a meltdown while my husband was trying to shop for shoes so the best thing to remedy was to leave and wait in the car. My complaint is the greeter up front as I was walking past her said oh my god in an annoying snarky tone. I looked at her and kindly stated she’s just a little kid. It was extremely rude and not what I wanted to hear after already stressed about getting my child to car quickly. While they apparently pay you to “sit” and greet people I’m sure they don’t want to pay you for snarky remarks. Won’t spend my money to continue to pay her to sit and be rude!

Found exactly what I was looking for!

Grills, shotshells and Fishing gear oh my. I go and actually plan my next adventure with my wife there. Clearance items and top grain items; its all there all the time. So re load that old Penn reel or use it as a target. Look good doing it with Name Brand clothes that dont break the bank. I came, I camouflaged, I canoed. I shall return.

Young people are friendly the older staff see you coming they walk off. Hmmm?? If stuff not sold out have some interesting things . Its a grown man paradise

I can always count on finding my walking shoes here and usually on sale too. They also have a great selection of athletic wear for all ages and sizes.

Couldnt have asked for a better customer service experience recently at this location. I went specifically to purchase a USA 10x10 canopy. There were none in inventory but Nick allowed me to purchase the floor display at a discounted price. He went out of his way to assist us and I avoided a drive to the Atlantic location in 5 o clock traffic. Needless to say, I was very pleased with this experience. Past experiences have been positive as well.

The Hispanic store manager is shady. I will never buy from here again. I was trying to buy an item and the sales associate had to get an approval from the manager. The manager came and had to check paperwork and license. While he was ringing me out he asked me if I had any questions regarding the product or price. I said no because I knew that the sales person already got the approval from him. When I was ready to pay I noticed he didn’t take the discount off. I told him that I thought you approved the price match and you’re still charging regular price. Then he told me “well I asked you if you had any questions with the product or the price” and he tried everything to not give me the discount. He eventually gave me the discount but very shady of him. Filed a complaint with corporate.

Bought a NFL Duke Gold Football..Wouldnt hold air..They wouldnt let me return or exchange it..Kinda pricey too...MGR was Rude and dismissive..Really a let down because I was gonna send it to my son and his squad in Afghanistan....I will never have anything good to say about this company or its employees...

Facility is well organized. Unfortunately, the brim hat I was looking for was not available. Prices for other brim hats were considered too pricey for my taste.

Order a screen room for my yard found one that I really liked ordered online when it came I put it up with holes in the ceiling. So I took it down drove 45 miles each way to get another one. So I get back home and put second one up this one has more holes than the other one. Am not satisfied with them helping you out didnt happen

A lot of people drive farther to Academy because of better prices than most Sporting Goods Stores. It is large and has many options. We have gotten good clothes, soccer and basketball shoes (& inserts) and gear here, etc.

This location surpasses all other locations. Best variety of basketball shoes

Ordered bike online with free assembly. Picked up bike put it on bike rack on vehicle in parking lot ran gear check. First attempt to front gears wheel no shift to low wheel. Chain ran against front derailer system. Shifting from 2 to 3 gear the chain would jam up on occasion. Rear derailer would jump the chain. Cables leading to gears on frame hanging loose. Rear brake not adjusted too loose to engage. No quality control after assembly or safety checks could have been conducted with the issues on this bike. Returned bike for full refund.

Academy Sports staff is courteous and knowledgeable. I have been buying fishing tackle and clothes there for many years. They have a good variety of tackle at competive prices. They are one of few stores that sell 4-E Nike Monarch sneakers.

Very typical academy to begin with which if Im being honest is something that I like about them its not flashy its just heres the right stuff that you actually want at a price thats good. The item I wanted was the last in stock and had no sticker, but the person up front was very friendly and helpful in looking it up so that I could purchase it from them.

I get some shoes, go up to the waiting line and the manager was rude. Then I get to the cashier and show her they had 2 different prices. I showed her the lower price and she calls the manager to override the price. The manager overrides the price with a sour face and the cashier gives me the receipt. No have a nice day. No thank you. Nothing from either. I love academy sports, but not this location. Not the employees anyway!

It’s two days before Black Friday and Muck boots for hunting are very hard to find for less than $100. Academy sports and outdoors has the best price and they are in stock. If you open a credit card with them you will get 10% off and free shipping. Just pay the credit card off as soon as you get the bill and you just bought your first Christmas present.

Its like a shoe dealership with no shoe salesmanship... I needed to measure my foot for adequate sizing, not a soul in sight... Overprized and not a good selection of shoes... I paid 140$ for 2 pairs of shoes at the competitors... I was a happy camper afterwards...

Late night emergency pickup of hard-to-find cleats in smaller toddler sizes. Saved the day! Cant beat quick curbside pickup either. We were back in action and good to go in less than an hour :)

No ammo shelves not stocked out of alot of items

They have a 3 box per person ammo restriction however if you have children with you they allow you to get 3 box for each of those children aswell. Also they allow place holders in the line so one person can sit there and then 9 people show up with them and cut the whole line. Told employees and nothing happemed.

I stopped in there on vacation one of the cashiers was a Browns fan, so I instantly enjoyed the visit. Yes Im biased but so what lol. Go Browns and checkout Academy Sports
