We were told 45 min. to 1 hour wait. Had a party of 7. We waited, went to check on time and were told another 30 to 45 min. Wait. They seated many who came after us. Parties of 2-6. Was 95 degrees waiting outside, so we finally left.

Not a real far of the new shopping experience, order on line go and pick up the feel for being the mall is its a reason to go somewhere other than home. Sitting at a computer and looking at little pictures of items a lazy mans way of doing business...you go to the mall you people watch check out the ladies try things on have a nice time eat something and buy something. Computer shopping your in and out the mall experience is kaput. W.

This store didn’t have what I expected the selections were limited for men’s pajamas. Also the home section had no bath mats the ones that look like a towel but placed on the floor once you get out of the tub. I bought a towel the JCP brand and it reamed or had reams already. I always thought they brand of towels was a good standard.

Ghost town. Only one register open so be prepared to walk as their time is much more valuable than yours. Grumpy employees and poor selection.

Their combination of sales plus coupon discounts make prices as good as it gets. Just be smart and wear a mask.

No one is at any registers. I stood at a register and a lady who worked there saw me and walked the other way. If it wasnt clothes my girls picked out and were excited about, I would have left it. Horrible service! The employees will be the reason this store closes!! And open up the dressing rooms!! Kids need to try on clothes!!

Nice selection and pretty clean. Its the nicest location in Jacksonville. Fitting rooms were not very clean. But the store itself is very nice. They have a Sephora mini store as well.

Always happy with my hair when I go to the salon at Penneys, and all the items I order online are of excellent quality.

Have not been shopping for myself in years. Was pleasantly suprized to find something I liked and that fit so quickly! They had a nice selection of womens clothing but it was a little lacking in plus sizes. Lots of great clearance priced items and it was easy to find my way around the store. Space between racks was plenty for my walker. Really friendly at check out. Third store I went to but first I was happy with. Oh, the fitting rooms ARE open here.

Customer Service at Jewelry Counter is poor at best!!!!

Order 2 shirts online on July 4th and ship them to the store which they charge an extra $4 for. It is now July 25th and the shirts or MIA I have called customer service and they just tell me to call the store. The store tells me on Monday that the ship to store orders were cancelled and it may be here by the end of the week to call back. I call and no one answers the phone. And customer service says they might be able to cancel my order and then I can pre-order them which doesnt help me because I will end up paying more than the first time because of JCPENNEYS mess up.

Selection for little girls is sparse. Only one register for entire store is opened. A lot of associates but none are available to help you with your purchase. Never coming back here again.

I forget her name but huge shout out to the associate who was working at one of the service desks on the upper level around 12 pm on Monday, June 1st. She told me to lookup JCP coupons on my phone and saved me even more money on top of a sale that was going on.

It isnt what it used to be! You cant find cashiers. I was dissapointed.

We had a great time shopping here at JC Penney. The staff was excellent and the selection was awesome. The salesperson that helped us really went the extra mile to make sure we found everything we needed. I will definitely be back to shop here again and will even try to track down the same person that helped us last time. I even applied for an in store credit card.

Since the pandemic had started, I order online and pick up curbside. Their app is easy to use, the associates are always so nice. Its an easy process. Thanks JCP!

Used to love going here but now it is classed by designer and really great place for those in thier late 50s

The escalator was broken and no fitting rooms on 2nd floor open. I did alot of walking to elevator and back as I was getting an over shoulder boulder holder 😅🙃

No employees around but 1, get to check out, both cashiers had 1 customer each. 1 person waiting so I got into the other line for the other cashiers line only to be told after waiting for 10 mins that the line started on the otherside! So I moved over and had to get in line AGAIN but behind 2 addtl people!!! So now I had 4 people ahead of me instead of 2. No apologies for mix up and oh yeah, no sign saying line starts here! I was not the only customer who did this. Sorry Surry service. Oh yeah they were the only and I mean the only employees I saw on 2 floors.....

The big and tall section is as big as my closet and only has floral print short sleeve shirts or graphic tees. In the companys mind people who need to shop in the section never want to dress nice. They only live in graphic tees. So 10/10 would not recommend.

If you are disabled it is extremely difficult to return anything to the store. Returns are on the second floor, all the way in the back - very hard to get to! Almost didnt make it there and back with out collapsing. o:(

Would give 0 stars but that’s not an option. Got a pair of shoes as a gift that are too small. Have been trying to call for over 15 minutes to see if they have the right size in stock. No one answered when I selected shoe department or women’s. Called the 3rd time and spoke with operator. Told her the situation and she put me on hold, phone then started ringing, again no answer. Called back to speak with operator, now no answer. Called a 4th time and spoke with someone in the salon. She put me on hold for quite awhile then the phone was picked up then hung up.Unfortunately same with the Orange Park Mall location. Really don’t want to drive to Jacksonville if the shoes are not in stock!

Comparing to 3 other j c penneys stores, this one is the worst.... Selection, customer service and quality.

The store we went in seemed more like a discount store than a JCPennys that remember. Hope thats not indicative of the whole chain, if so then its no wonder big box stores are failing. They seem to be competing more with Walmart and Target than Macys or Dillards.

My Jcpenneys service was excellent n very professional in all the areas I needed while shopping, Denise Clayton of the Jacksonville Avenues Store was courteous n had a pleasant attitude in helping me

We were in the Avenues Mall and havent stopped in too Pennys in a long time. First as we walked in noticed that the AC was not working...a bit warmer than we wanted. Had an effort to find the ladies sleep ware department as no signage nor employees were available. Did find after a walk around. Found an item and now had to search for check out. Found an employee and she directed us to On Line Order and Returns to check out...does not make any sense. Hope they wake up as this is not how you keep customers and stay in business 😞.

JC Penney is the one place I can find Arizona pants. This store in the Avenues is smaller than other JCP I’ve shopped at but the customer service I received on my first visit was fantastic. I will visit again to replenish my pants for sure.

Lois in the kids department was so helpful and warm today at checkout. She made me look forward to shopping there again soon. She is a bright light.

Visited Sephora inside of JCPenney and the beauty consultant was very nice. She helped me pick out the right shade of foundation with a neat little device that determined my skin tone. There was no pressure to buy, and she gave me samples of the moisturizer and primer she used under the foundation. I would highly recommend anyone needing help with new make up products to visit Sephora and also to try the Bare Minerals liquid foundation.
