My experience at this target optical was great! Melissa was extremely helpful with finding a pair of glasses that not only I would love, but would be best for my prescription.
This store is AMAZING! I had 2 people Melissa and Jessica helping me...They conducted themselves with nothing but the upmost Professionalism, very helpful and truly compassionate about their job and making sure the customer gets what they want without being that fast acting car salesman attitude. I would highly suggest anyone who needs eye care to go to this store to have them help you! The BEST Target Optical in Jacksonville....
Couldnt re make transitions in my prescription even though hey had been made before this was just a replacement pair theough the warranty they offer. The contact for support was horrible. They replaced the glasses were re made with no transitions. I went to a different optometrist for second opinion and had to buy new glasses out of pocket. But the service was much better and they included transition lenses with no fuss. If your having issues try clay eye and associates even walmart had no issues with transitions lenses.
I had a prescription from my eye doc so I didnt need an exam.. That said the customer service in regards to the fitting and sale of 2 pair of sunglass was excellent..
I just needed to get my glasses tightened and order some more contacts so we did not see the doctor but Antonio was amazing! He was probably the most helpful salesperson that I have ever had at any Target optical location!! :)
Please people I am trying to help you, stay away from this clinic!!! Had an appointment with them on 09/17/2020. Paid $120 (thats co-pay only) for an exam. The exam was ok but the billing after was plain confusing. A few weeks later I ordered contact lenses online, and the store rejected my prescription, stating my prescription is not real??? Just because I wanted to order online instead of through the store itself. So the online team canceled my order. When I called the store the. poor lady at reception did not even know who my doctor was?? Said Dr Vuong is a woman and not a man, and that her husband helps her out sometimes and they didnt renew their lease?? Like what was she talking about?? I found Doctor Vuong working at a clinic in St Augustine, and his receptionist says he sometimes comes over to the clinic on South side. Please get that poor lady at reception some medical help.
I worked with the manager who helped me 20 minutes before closing. He was so nice and helpful. I found the perfect frames and look forward to picking them up in a few weeks. I shopped around a little and the prices for what I wanted were much better at Target!
Dr Nguyen is fantastic. Very cramped space and the staff is walking all over each other. I did not like my trial lenses and wanted to go back to my original lenses so I thought I would call the location to order those lenses. I tried 2 days in a row calling in the morning and following up in the afternoon to no avail. Both said they would call me back, both said they were really busy, I tried to explain that the old lenses were on the RX and they just hung up. . Guess I will try to order them from one of the online companies.
The doctor was very cheery and helpful. She was very nice and a joy to be around. She was glad to answer any and all of my question related and not related to the exam.And the staff was the same, very nice and helpful. Loved it here, better than any other eye doctor Ive been to. And super affordable for an amazing pair of glasses.
Was recently seen here and will be going back. My wife is going to be making an appointment too. Everyone was so nice and professional. The doctor answered all my questions. The manager was helpful in assisting me with ordering new frames and contacts. They have really convenient hours, I was able to go after work. My new glasses came in quickly as well.
I order my contacts online and came here for a prescription. I brought the box for the contacts I currently wear and wanted the new prescription for. The doctor is really nice and was also excited to offer me new options. She ended up writing three prescriptions and I walked out happy. Until I tried to order contacts online. This office wouldnt confirm my prescription, saying it was written for another type of lens. So I went to the location to see what was going on. I handed my prescriptions to the clearly superior guy helping me and asked if any of them were for the empty box I also handed him. He asked if I had ever been to this location *as hes holding the prescription I got there.* I answered in the affirmative and he went back to see the doc. He told me that the prescriptions were for different types of lenses but she could write a prescription for the ones I want and have worn for four years. That changed when he told me that I had never been fitted for them and so they couldnt write me a prescription. It was so obvious he didnt want to help that I didnt bother telling him to check the prescription that was written for me last year. I found the service here repellent and wont be back.
Im not sure where all of these negative reviews are coming from. I had a great experience. The doctor was very nice and answered all of my questions. All the girls working were very nice as well.
Set up my appointment online - which is easy and convenient. The staff was really friendly checking me in. Dr. Nguyen was cheerful and nice, she really took her time checking my eyes. She was happy to explain any questions I had. The staff helped me understand my benefits and I got a great deal on my 2nd pair which were prescription sunglasses.
This optical store went out of the way when I was helping a friend choose frames. Jeff looked up my insurance for my own information. There was no pressure to buy for my friend which made us feel comfortable.
Overall pleasant experiences with the doctors; but rude office staff. I called to get information on my eyeglass prescription, and the lady who answered the phone was horrible. I guess she was having a bad day. Needless to say, it was enough to make me avoid calling that office ever again.
They are very eager to help. Great discounts as well. Highly recommended

Please dont tell a patient to come 10 mins early and then proceed to tell said patient that they dont open for another 10 mins when they arrive. So unprofessional to have me standing out in the aisles while the lady sits at the desk. Also, its past my apt and Im still standing in the aisles waiting for her to turn on the lights and open the gate.4 stars because Dr. el khory (spelling?) Was amazing!
Dr. Ann Huynh Nguyen did a great job with my exam. I felt like she responded well to me and worked well with me on dialing in my I prescription and I will definitely go back! The staff are very friendly as well!
I called to ask how much they charged for high-index lenses and the person who answered the phone didnt seem to know anything. He kept on saying that I would have to come in and go through the whole process so they could put it into the system to see. I eventually got an answer when the person repeated my questions to someone off to the side. Before I could ask a follow up question, they hung up. Lenscrafters and Pearle Vision were much more helpful and pleasant on the phone in comparison.
If I can give NO stars, i would. The doctors were VERY unprofessional. Not a great experience by far. Went in for exam and to purchase new glasses and was not treated very respectfully. The doctor had an attitude the entire time which made me feel like I was being a burden to her. I felt like it was so much trouble for her to see me and perform her job duties. Im not sure if she was having a bad day but I was so uncomfortable I will not be going back ever again. I can see why her ratings are so low.
The Dr and the staff were very attentive, knowledgeable, and very nice. Recommended.
I have always go e to Target Optical, until I needed new sunglasses. Their selection of sunglasses for active lifestyles was lacking. When I found the ones I wanted online, they required my PD measurement. I called and they refused to give it to me stating that they only take the measurement to give to the lab, only to makes sure the lenses were made correct, and that is why they wont give it to me because the online retailer might screw it up. If I give them the correct measurement, why would their machines screw up the lenses... Wont go there again. Anyone have a good suggestion for a new eye doc?
This place is Horrible. The bare minimum is what they strive for. Ive worked in this field for 12 years. This place is a joke. If you want to waste time, be aggravated or get a good laugh...come here. Whats best is when I talked to the optician he said Im just filling in here and stated he owned value vision and that I should find somewhere else to go and he himself would never go there. What a ridiculous situation. Even just getting verification to have contact lens ordered was impossible. If you ignore my advice and go here anyway, all Ill have to say is told you so!!!
Thsee guys have been nothing but outstanding!My visit with the doctor (Was not seen by Dr. Ann) was pleasant, she was extremely nice. Today I stopped by again and was taken care of by Davis (or David), really sweet gentleman, I needed my frames tightened and rescrewedI really dont understand why there are soooo many bad reviews on here. The (only) Optometrist at this location is absolutely terrible. She’s hostile and has no clue how to talk to customers. Rude, discompassiante, and assumptuious. Do NOT go here. I have had TWO encounters with her where I left livid and insulted by her. She must be barely smart enough to be labeled an Optometrist, but she works at Target because she’s clearly lacking in the people-person category. Will 100% never be back and will tell everyone not to go.
To whom it may concern,I am writing after many failed attempts to speak with the appropriate person regarding this matter. If you go to this store, and you are mistreated you will have no recourse for action as the store has no manager, they refused to give the Target store manager their district managers number, and corporate said the district manager would call and he never did!My son (who is in college) came in for a regular eye exam in 1/2018. He has always worn glasses due to a severe astigmatism. It took 3 different trials to find the right fit. Each trial took 3 months to receive (was told this was due to his special lens). Finally by the end of July we were ready to order a box for him! 1 Box of contacts were ordered on 7-27 for at total of $279.98. I was told on that day that they would take 3 months, just like the trials and that was fine as my son has always worn glasses, so we were in no rush.Fast forward to October 8th. I received a call regarding a upcoming follow up appointment. I asked the lady on the phone before I hung up about my sons contacts. She said she would check into it and call me back. I received a call back and she said they showed my son came in and picked up his contacts. That did not sound right to me but I said I would call my son and find out. I called him at school and he immediately said no- he did not get his contacts. I called back and told the lady on the phone no he didn’t get his contacts and again she said she thought he came in and would check into this and call me back.So I went in for my follow up appointment on October 12th and after my appointment, I went to the desk to inquire about my son’s contacts. Alex was in front at the desk. She told me she remembers handing the contacts to my son. She was not only impolite in her delivery but she was rude, cold and condescending in her tone. I asked what day he picked them up because he left for college August 11th and hasn’t been back since. She said “I don’t know”. I asked what day the contacts were delivered to the store “I don’t know”. So I then asked if you don’t have any of this information how do you know he picked them up. She replied “because I remember, it is such a specialized lens that I wouldn’t forget that”. I told her all his trials took 3 months to arrive how did these contacts get there so fast- “I don’t know”. So I then told her what she was basically saying was my son and I were lying and we were thieves. She said “well if you aren’t then I guess I am the liar then”. I will never forget those words she spoke because she repeated that very phrase at least 3 more times when I told her she was accusing us of that. She would repeat each time “well then I’m the liar then”. Alex also inquired how my son could go all these months wearing trials. She stated “how could he still be wearing trials”. Well Alex, my son has never worn contacts before and has always worn glasses. Also, we just bought him a pair of Ray Ban prescription glasses from your store this year. I asked her don’t you record when someone comes in and picks up contacts and she then pulled out a card with my sons name on it and on the card in bold black marker and then highlighted in yellow were the instructions that we needed to sign for contacts before we picked them up. I asked her wouldn’t this something you would implement on all customers picking up contacts and she said “no just you”. At this point, I can’t even speak anymore because I can’t believe any of this. I asked her for her name and just needed to leave the store as I could not even begin to grasp and digest what was happening and what she was accusing me of.On the way home, I called the store to ask her who her manager was and she told me “I don’t have one”. She then said “after you left I called and found out that your contacts were delivered on August 7th”. They never called- my phone records for the month of August will be sent to the BBB and Target corporate.This is abbreviated due to my character limit. Corporate, Yelp and BBB will receive full letter.
Absolute worst place to do business at. I am a frequent Target shopper and I love that they have their optical business inside their store, I do not, however, appreciate the rude and negative environment this particular business had during my visit. The young doctor (not dr Ngyun) was very immature and unprofessional. I waited exceptionally long to be seen. I was the only patient waiting to be called back for my appt and I arrived 15 minutes to just sit and wait AN HOUR before I was called back. I didnt complain to her I just said that another dr should have been there to help. That was when her attitude and demeanor towards me took a dive and she kept huffing and puffing while performing my eye exam. She made it seem like it was such a drag to have to see me. I apologized to her for having said what I did but she didnt acknowledge me. That made my experience with their office quite awkward. I asked to see someone else to which she replied well as youve mentioned another dr should be here to help but Im working by myself today. I thought she might have said that jokingly and I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt because I couldnt believe she just talked to a patient that way, so I asked to speak to her manager to which she told me she doesnt work for Target and she did not have a manager. So I asked who her superior was and she told me she did not have one and does not work for anyone. After my appt was complete the very nice older woman working the front desk gave me Dr. Ngyuns phone number so I can call and tell her about my experience. I left a message asking her to call me back to which i never received a phone call. I left unsatisfied with my visit and will sadly not be returning to this location for any of my optical needs.If this is how you treat your patients you should be ashamed to even call yourselves a business. Nobody should have to endure such horrible customer service from a doctor.
