If youre looking for new garage doors or even need your current one repaired this is THE company to call. I just had Sears Garage doors install beautiful new carriage house style doors at my house. Chris & Vinny are absolutely meticulous with their work. I had several quotes from other well know Jacksonville garage door companies & some of their quotes were well, just plain obscene. I really had not thought of Sears as unfortunately the name Sears is associated with the retail stores verses Sear Home which is a strong, viable company- I had inquired with a neighbor who has carriage house doors to find out who they worked with & that is how I got hooked up with Chris at Sears. My neighbor could not say enough good things about Sears & after my experience I would agree 1000%. Its always good when you find a good quality honest company to work with- not that most have garage door needs on regular basis but occasionally something can happen like a spring break etc. but at least now I dont have to hunt for a co. & by the way- my new doors have are guaranteed. I told Chris in my neighborhood that when one neighbor does an improvement others start thinking about doing the same thing- the doors were just put in yesterday and already had several neighbors inquiring about the doors and who did the work- one neighbor at night even pulled his car in the driveway so he could see the doors better with his headlights and mentioned he was thinking about doing something with his doors. I highly recommend if you have garage door needs give Chris a call!

Our garage door would not open. We called several companies listed on Google. Sears returned our call within 1 hour and dispatched a technician the same day. Turned out we had a broken garage door spring. The repair man diagnosed the problem immediately and quoted us a price for the repair. He said there was a $50 off promotion and that he would apply it to the repair price. We did not even know there were any discounts available. Most service companies would not tell you about any discounts once they are in your home and have a captive audience. Bravo to Sears for putting customers first. First rate service. From the first time Chris met with us to purchase our new door until the day it was installed he kept a constant line of communication open with us and we were kept fully informed throughout the entire process. I had 2 things done by Sears. First, a refrigerator repair. Every aspect of that repair was 5 Star. Then I tried to get a garage door opener installed. This is where things went south. At the store they told me that I would be contacted the next day. I wasn’t. The next day, also no call, so I called them, after some fumbling about how the installer would be sent an email and that they would contact me and that if I was not contacted, I should call them, The call ended with me unsatisfied and frustrated. I tried to call, no answer. Next day, still no call. Tried to call installer, no answer. Called Sears, berated the agent, asked for a different installer. She tried to call installer, no answer. She said she would send them an email (again). Then said I would get my desired date for installation and the installer would call to confirm. I don’t have a lot of hope for this working out. So regardless of the job they do, garage door opener installation, 1 star (only because you can’t give zero stars) so 3 stars overall. At least they said they would refund my money if this appointment doesn’t happen.Bottom line: I think for appliance repair and installation, they seem ok. If simply changing out a garage door opener is this incompetently handled I would never let them in my house to do something big like window replacement, remodels etc. If you need work like that hire a dedicated professional.

Vinny and his helper did a great job installing my new craftsman garage door opener. I will definitely use Sears again and recommend them to anyone needing garage door repairs.

3 phone calls, Monday, found out my call was not even logged in by service. Tuesday, 2nd call, took all the info and promised that after 4PM same day I would receive a phone call when they tech would come out on Wednesday. NO phone call. Wednesday morning 3rd call, answering service took message, no phone calls to inform me when a tech would show up. What a pityful customer service. Finally got a phone call Wednesday close to noon informing me that the tech would be here between 1-5 PM. I was quoted over the phone that it would be $79.00 for my sensors to be set right again.Tech arrives and decided that my wires, the connections on the ground by the sensors were not good. So I was told that would cost me $129.00, mind you they did not use any Sears material, they used my existing wires to cut them and reconnect. They charged me $50.00 to do that in addition the $79.00 quoted and did not use any Sears Material. That is Highway robbery, that is outrageous. I was so upset, I cried. Shame on you Sears, you will not find my business with you ever again and I will let everyone know about this Highway Robbery.
