Visited twice Great food but biased to English speakers. The interaction with Spanish speakers were more inviting. English speakers seemed to bother the staff.Chopping it up to miscommunication or language barriers.Will not return.

What a delicious spot!! We got carnitas, pastor and chicken in tacos, enchiladas and burritos. We stuffed ourselves and joined every minute. Loved that I could wash it down with a Dos Equis. Chips were hot and salsa tasted fresh! We will return!

Las Tapatías restaurant has a pleasant family environment. The servings were plentiful at a very reasonable price. We were a large group and had 2 servers taking care of us. They were quick and efficient! The food was amazing and I liked the green sauce the most. Mexican food is not my favorite, but I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

If I could give them 10 stars I would. Got some tacos the other day after work had to come back today for more. If you like spicy try their red spicy hot sauce with your tacos. Food was fresh and their service was beyond good. 10+ stars ⭐️

The tacos were good. We ordered 25 or more and the tacos themselves tasted great. We didnt know they didnt come with veggies or toppings. Other than that we loved them.

Soy Muy Triste!I’m so sad to review this place and deliver a “yuck” to the carne asada tacos. The tacos had an old or aged taste to them, the tortillas tasted a little stale, and the meat had no seasoning at all.I overlooked all the flies (regular and fruit) buzzing around due to the time of year, but these things mixed with 6 tacos at almost $20 have to be highlighted as to why this place only received 1 star and if I had the option to give it a half star, I would.This isn’t a place I’d come back to or refer to anyone I desired to stay friends with.

Would be a 5 star with just a bit of atmosphere, but when it comes to authenticity the food is the best I have had in North Florida.The chicken enchiladas suiza are the best I have ever had and topped with their Queso dip is perfection over the top.Prices cant be beat either!

I was really excited to try this place after reading all the reviews that it was authentic. Having moved here from SoCal, I was missing my taco fix. My office ordered Las Tapatias for our weekly lunch today. I ordered the Chori-Chicken, several people ordered the fajitas and tacos. The consensus was they the food wasnt tasty. The chorizo tasted burned, the taco tortillas were super dry, and the fajita meat was chewy to a pointe where several pieces were inedible. The carnitas were reportedly good, but unfortunately they did forget one of the two orders we had. The chips and guac were tasty. Overall, I would not repeat.

This is by far my favorite Mexican place in Jacksonville my co workers call it a hole in the wall but ya its a hidden gem its small but gets packed I feel because the food is amazing and really authentic and I love there hot salsa thats made fresh instead of most places I go and ask for hot sauce they hand me Tabasco also its the only Mexican place I can find great stews and Ive called around. All great food with excellent prices.

I must have gone on the wrong night. I ordered steak fajitas and a carne asada taco. The steak fajitas were tough and too bland. I added salt and salsa and it could not bring flavor to life.

Great place to kick back enjoy some good food and drink some cold beer with friends! Authentic food and atmosphere. was even better when they had the little tienda in the front. You can send money to someone and eat some lunch and drink a couple beers while you wait for it to go through. I recommend the tacos al pastor, some of their fresh sopa (pollo or res) and a nice caguama of Corona to wash it down. The lady that runs the place is super friendly and accommodating.

The food is fresh and authentic! I highly recommend this place for their tacos and their enchiladas! Dont forget to grab a tamarind Jarritos to go with it!

Love this place. Im a big taco fan, and they do it right! These are real tacos. My boyfriend likes to get the shrimp quesadilla, and says its the best hes ever had. The staff are very polite as well. Very reasonable prices, too. We will continue to return here often.

It may not look like much but to my surprise it’s been better that most of your big fantasy restaurants I have eaten here many times and have picked up take out food is very fresh and made to order. Had to wait for 50 mins for my food had to make it to go because I had no time left. If your rice water sinks like this then its not gonna taste as good. But, food tastes good so if you go preoder so you dont have to wait. Will give another star depending how my next visit goes always gotta be fair.

Great food not influences by any American cuisine whatsoever. This hole in the wall is one of the most authentic Mexican restaurant in Jacksonville. Here youll great staff who will wait you with a smile. I would definitely recommend for a quick fix of Double tortilla tacos, how theyre supposed to be made. I Would say that the freshness of the garnishings could be a little fresher ( onions, cilantro, limes).

A bit of affordable authentic Mexican food in an area with many options.This is a quirky little restaurant literally in the middle of a Mexican grocery store. I had a lunch combo and my companion the same. The portions were good sized and the food was fresh and tasty. It took a while for our lunches to arrive but I believe they were working on a large takeout order at the time.Decent food, low prices, good portions and a friendly staff. Definitely worth a look for a fast lunch or takeout order.

Been here twice. The first time for lunch and this place was actually pretty great. The second time not at all they didn’t refill our waters, they brought out the wrong food and just didn’t have anything together. The food came out burned tasting and were missing certain things completely. I definitely won’t be back

Staying nearby to avoid the hurricane sweeping through the beaches. Ordered takeout during lunch (chicken fajitas)....they were incredible. Only $6.50 for delicious fajitas, amazing salsa, chips, and hot sauce. Super great deal. When/if Im in the area again I will most certainly get some takeout.Also, the two women at the checkout were very nice and genuine. :) I wish I took a picture, but I was so hungry I forgot! Sorry guys.

This is a mom and pop place that serves food and has a grocery store under the same roof. The food is good. The portions are generous. The service is friendly. The ambience isnt like the typical American restaurant, but its refreshing.

This restaurant went from one of the spots that had the best delicious tacos in town that made fresh guacamole that you wont find in a lot of restaurants to the worst spot in town. They used to have fresh tamales that you can take to go one day I ordered some tamales and she gave me a bag full of refrigerated tamales and told me to warm them up in the microwave. Their salsa wet from tasting fresh to tasting like they never washed the pesticide off of the tomatoes because it tasted like Pine-Sol with salsa mixed it happened twice in a row I asked the waitress what is wrong with this also because it tasted like it had a chemical in it and they said that we get different batches of tomato and thats why it tasted that way this place with nasty salsa and cold tamales was my last straw that broke the camels back

The best taco I have had in Jacksonville by a landslide.Theres not really any ambience- the lighting is similar to a gas station and there was a telenovela playing on the TV Im the corner- but you really dont care because the tacos are amazing.They come out on corn tortillas, served with the typical Mexican toppings of cilantro, lime, and onion. The portions are plentiful, the tacos are two dollars each, and theyre served with fantastic sauces.11/10. Get you some tacos.

This place is tucked away on Baymeadows across from the Winn Dixie. Its a little hole in the wall, but the food is great. Very authentic and priced right! Nothing fancy but you will be glad you went.

Only had tacos. The two soup specials seemed popular, lots of bowls coming out of the kitchen. The steak was a little overcooked and chewy. The pastor was seasoned well and very tender. The carnitas were also very good: lots of crunchy bits with the meat and fat. The best by far was the cabeza: very tender and flavorful.The tortillas were old, almost crunchy at the edges. Five stars if the tortillas were fresh.

My favorite taco place In Jacksonville, they do not speak good English but man are they friendly. Food is hot and made to order, they have a calm atmosphere, old Spanish music usually playing. If you go later in the night sometimes the younger ones will have j balvin on and that is awesome. If you eat in they gove you free chips and salsa, idk how they make money because their prices are amazing! Id eat here every day if I could. I have high blood pressure now but i would eat here daily sometimes 2 times a day. 10/10 Id go here.

Went here with a co-worker, needless to say is never picking a Mexican restaurant again. I had the chicken steak and shrimp fajitas. The beef was from a roast, the ship was warmed cocktail shrimp, the chicken was dry. Im fairly confident the refried beans and tortillas were bought in walmarts grocery section. The chips tasted from a bag, then warmed. They were stale and the salsa didnt have much taste. By far this was the worst Mexican restaurant Ive been to. Also, dont expect a margarita (typical Mexican restaurant drink) to go with the meal.We ended up a taco bell to actually eat food afterwards

The staff was pretty stand off-ish. The chips came out stale, but warm some how. I ordered the Chilaquiles and it tasted like it was made with velveeta cheese.My friend had the fajitas jalisco. I verified by tasting that the fajitas were a cut from roast and the shrimp were store bought in a port town. Absolutely aweful.

Food is excellent! Best tacos carnitas I’ve had in Jax and I’ve been here since 2004. Food is fresh and hot and the service is excellent and very friendly. Tacos are huge portions and they are ONLY $2/each!!!! Reminds me of being in Southern California.
