We had a lamp from overseas that required a specialty bulb. Previous attempts at using other international bulbs were not safe/overheating. The team at Bulbtown found a quick solution using an adaptor. Inexpensive fix, safe, and they were very friendly and knowledgeable. We strongly recommend Bulbtown, would give it extra stars if we could.
I asked Bulbtown for an LED replacement for some instrument cluster bulbs installed on my 2004 Mustang. I sent them the number that was stamped on the bulb. The bulb size was a T1-3/4. I received a reply from Bulbtown with a recommended LED replacement and immediately placed an order for 10 bulbs. Certainly not a big order and not very expensive. When I received the LED bulbs I attempted to install them in the instrument cluster. Unfortunately the shape of the upper part of the LED bulb caused the socket the bulb is inserted in to to spread out ever so slightly, causing the socket not to fit in the instrument cluster hole. I figured, no big deal, Ill send them back and ask them to recommend a different LED bulb. When I explained the problem with the bulbs they recommended as a replacement, I was told I could return them, but there would be a 15% restocking fee. I said, WHAT? You people recommended the bulb that did not fit the socket and you want me to pay a restocking fee? The lady I was working with understood and said she would forward my email to her manager. After 4 days of waiting I asked the same lady to please follow up with her manager. Its now 1 week and I have no response from the manager or her regarding the unwarranted restocking fee. I said to the lady, if I had selected the bulb I ordered and it was wrong or did not fit, I would fully understand having to pay a restocking fee. But when you/your company make the recommendation and the bulb doesnt fit, then I feel it was your mistake and I should not have to pay a restocking fee. The last thing I did today was write an email to the person I was working with at Bulbtown and told her after one week of no answer to the restocking fee question, I can only assume my question was unimportant and therefore did not justify a response. I then proceeded to tell her that Bulbtown/Jackson Electric can be assured I will never again order from them again and I will be posting a review about this horrible business practice and experience.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/DELIVERY TIME EVER!!! Ordered bulbs December 23. A month later I called to see why they hadnt been received. I was told Oh, were out of that style. TJHEY NEVER BOTHERED TO LET ME KNOW! So I said send me what is in stock, and was assured they would.It is now almost a month after THAT- still no bulbs. I called today and was told theyd have to look into it. STAY AWAY FROM THEM ! SEE THE OTHER REVIEWS (which i wish i had read before ordering)! NEVER AGAIN, BULBTOWN!
Ordered more than one month ago, received order confirmation, havent received the order, contacted them at multiple email addresses, no response from any email address, and their website merely says that the item ordered is either processing or has shipped, but no details. Terrible customer service.Addendum: The items were delivered. Their response that several employees had COVID is certainly possible. As a suggestion, they could use an autoreply on their generic email address to explain the situation to customers. Customers understand that response better than silence.
Where is my Bulbs? Is this company scamming people out of money or what? Where is the professionalism? I ordered my Bulbs January 19th, and the email said estimated arrival time was three days after, its now January 30th, still no bulbs!
Im rather stunned with the good reviews of this place. On the plus side, they actually had the bulbs I needed. However, they took their sweet time shipping them. Even with paying the premium for 2-day shipping, I received my order a week later. They were completely unresponsive when I emailed asking where my order is and why it took so long to ship. Ill order elsewhere in the future..
If I could give ZERO stars I would. I ordered bulbs 2 months ago and have never received them. But the problem is that you cant talk to anyone. Their phone goes only to two sales peoples voice mail, And when you select either Melinda or Veronica, neither one EVER answers the phone and after half a dozen messages for them over two weeks, I have never received an email or call back about my order. There are no other options on the phone tree. They are the worst. Stay Away unless you enjoy being aggravated.
I had a wonderful experience buying from Jackson Lighting and Electric Supply (Bulbtown). I wanted to convert some old fluorescent lights to LED and Quinn, the counter manager was extremely knowledgeable. He helped me choose the right lights and even took some time to show me exactly how the new wiring would work. Quinn and the other employees I met were all very pleasant and happy, must be a great place to work.
Just needed one tiny little bulb for my desk lamp. Bulbtown shipped me what I needed in an affordable, timely manner, thank you!
Not sure of the service at their brick and mortar, but I ordered some bulbs from them on 10/01/2019 and just today (2/3/2020) received a shipping notice from them. Ill update when I get them, but there has been ZERO communication from them either to explain the delay or response to my emails about where my order was. 4 months between order and shipping is obviously inexcusable from a merchant. I will not be doing business with them in the future.
I really love this place, since I want my collection of light bulbs to be huge, this is the best ever light bulb source.
If youre making a delivery here, the staff was very friendly. Doug, the manager and Quinn, the Warehouse receiver, were both excellent to work with and got me in and out very quickly. Getting into their dock was a little tight but otherwise a very good experience.
