I had broken off a spark plug in the head of my Volkswagen GTI that I was getting ready to sell. I called The Auto Shop and they were happy to say they could get it extracted out of the head. I was thrilled to hear that they could also give me a ride home, I will use their services in the future.

Highly professional. Mainly dealt with Justin, who is a great guy overall. There was an error involving a part that turned 4 days with no vehicle into 6. With no loaner available, I did mention how inconvenient this was to me, notably given the high cost of service. Fortunately, Justin hooked me up with a discount and made it right. I overall recommend this location for the good service.However, I really hope this doesnt happen again if/when I bring my vehicle back in.

Called to get an estimate on a gasket valve cover replacement on my 2015 BMW X5. I explained to Justin over the phone that I was comparing prices to the quote I had received from BMW of Columbia, and I had heard great things about the business. I specifically asked if the cost he quoted me included the full Valve cover kit with the PCV. He said yes AND with an oil change. I was excited to hear the experienced information provided by Justin, as BMW of Columbia had not informed me that an oil change would be needed with the repairs. He broke down the repair and how it would be completed. He quoted me $1,100 with 5 hours of labor. I continued to schedule the appointment, because it was $600 cheaper than what BMW had given me. Once my vehicle was inspected by the mechanic, the shop called me to inform me my quote was now $3560. They couldn’t tell me where the increase had came from except the possibility of Justin quoting me aftermarket parts versus OEM parts. I took the part numbers and looked them up. The total cost for parts were less than $600. I explained to them that I too am a business owner and understand the need to make money off of parts and labor. But upcharging me from $1100 to $3560 without explanation was absolutely uncalled for. I directed them to not touch the vehicle any further. I paid for my diagnostic testing which was $190 and picked my car up later. They seem like good people, but they could very easily take advantage of you quickly! Make sure you do your research before permitting their work to be completed.

Scammers. They are well known liars when it comes to professional business. We needed a sensor, they told us we needed a whole new motor. And then some but I won’t write a book on a review. Payed a lot to get nothing done. I got better information and the help I needed at a parts store.

Danny and Kelley go above and beyond for their customers. The services they offer for their customers make this the best shop in the area to take your vehicle to. There is no job to small for them and they always make sure that you and your vehicle are completely taken care of. They picked my vehicle up for me and returned it all while being able to pay conveniently online and stay safe in my home. I will never go anywhere else to have my car worked on.

On my advice my wife took her car here for a full brake job. Ive had good luck in the past with the Auto Shop so I wasnt worried. We were charged over $1000 for replacement of the rotors and pads on a late model Hyundai, over $600 for parts alone. $100/set for brake pads that anyone can buy at OReilly or Autozone for $40-$50 is criminal. I paid $624 ($329 for parts) at Auto Shop for the same work on my other vehicle in Oct 2018. I realize things are higher than 2 years ago but this is price gouging. I plan to report this to the BBB. Ill never set foot in this place again.

I had them inspect every inch of my truck. I normally keep my truck out of shops because I dont like other people touching it. But after blasting the parts cannon at my truck; replacing part after part and still not fixing my issue, I figured I needed to have another set of eyes look at it. These guys were awesome! They gave me a very detailed report of everything they found. I was completely comfortable with them working on/inspecting my truck. They are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Any issues I have in the future that I am unfamiliar with, I will be seeing them again to diagnose and work on.

Very picky about car repair shops - VERY glad I found this place. We just moved to Jeff City about 6 months ago. Have been to 2 other shops before I found The Auto Shop. Very friendly, very thorough, very customer service oriented - you can tell they care about their customers and their vehicles, and are in this for the long term - happy people come back! Seriously cant believe everything they checked out on each of our 2 vehicles for just an oil change - which makes me feel much more aware of what is happening with the vehicles, and what needs to be done. Some needed NOW attention, some for down the road. Looking forward to being a customer here for a long time!

Turns out the Auto Shop is nothing more than another shop that preys on peoples ignorance. They do unnecessary work, over charge for what they do, and dont actually finish the repairs they do work on. Thanks to the basic work of changing a serpentine belt on my fiances vehicle a couple weeks later were stranded on the side of the road out of town. As an ASE certified shop they certainly Dont do thorough work.

Dakota was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. He did a great job at explaining pricing and the issues that my car had at the time.

Went in for an alignment after I performed quite a bit of work. Alignment came out great, car drives solid. Courtesy general inspection was greatly appreciated and provided very useful information for continued maintenance. Will go back!

What a delight to go into an auto shop that not only respects women but actually caters to them. A complete assessment was performed on my vehicle and explained step by step. They even showed pictures of all the check points. I had been going to the dealership and trusting them to keep up on the recommended service. Well that was a mistake. They told me that my upper ball joints were bad I ordered a full front end rebuild kit. Well my friend that is certified mechanic said they are fine no play in them at all. So what I feel is that they were trying to take me for more money for something that didn’t need to be done.

According to my dashboard, I had a leaky tire, but which one? I called the Auto Shop and they were able to get me in the same day. I use my vehicle to transport my aging Mom and two other dear ladies about town. They no longer drive or do not feel safe to drive at this time. The Auto Shop found a three-inch decking screw embedded in my tire, removed it and repaired my tire. As I waited they also ran diagnostics on my vehicle and found a low battery. They gave me a price on replacing the battery but did not pressure me to make this repair now. I appreciate their quick response and feel they really care about my safety and the safety of my passengers. The friendly staff really make you feel like an important customer, even for a small repair. I would highly recommend this company.

The people here are very friendly and very helpful offering extra services when needed. They provide snacks and beverages in the waiting room, rides to and from home if needed, and a free gift at the end of the services that they provide. Loved it there!

So much respect for this establishment. I found myself in the worst situation when my car broke down in Jefferson City. Knowing I was far from home and already in a lot of stress, these guys fought to get my car looked ASSP and had me back on the road a lot sooner than I thought. On top of that they have the nicest and most professional staff any business can have. Not just to myself, but to ever single customer that came in while I was waiting in the lobby.

I came out to Jefferson City to look at a used car. I live about two hours away in Kansas City, so I wanted to make sure that I could get a used car inspection during the time Id be out to see the car. The Auto Shop was very accommodating and helpful when I called to ask the day before if they could do an inspection on the car. They let me know that its easiest if I take the car to them, so we agreed for an appointment the next day. I came to them a little early with the car, but they got to me right away and let me wait in the shop while they completed the work. Tim gave me a virtual copy of the inspection with everything easily laid out, as well as pricing for the work Id need to get done in the near future. I do not know much about cars, but Tim made sure that I understood everything, and printed out copies with estimates for me to keep. If I ever find myself in the area with car issues, I already know that Id come back to The Auto Shop for the service!

This shop diagnosed our issue accurately and offered to repair it quickly. As a DIYer though, I usually ask for a part number and do the repairs personally. They were extremely resistant to helping me in any way, something I had not encountered at any other mechanic, and left without any of the typical aid which other shops have offered.Good diagnosis, failed to work with the customer.

Went in for free healthcare oil change and we knew something was wrong with front end but never though something as bad as they found. They fixed mutliple issues with no pressure and they did it all in one day. Even with no contact the communication was excellent and no surprises. They are our new auto repair center and I was happy to reinvest my stimulus check with a local company. Thank you for getting me on the road safely.

These guys never start repairs until after they speak with you, give you a solid estimate, and get your approval. They also explain whats going on with the car in a manner that a layperson can understand. They are very respectful and friendly. Finally, they do excellent work and their prices are very fair. I am now a loyal customer.

I have been a customer since 2014 and wouldnt take my car anywhere else for repairs. The Auto Shop does a great job, with friendly helpful staff, and they are honest... professionalism with integrity.

Best shop in town!

I went there first thing in the morning with a brake problem and they said they couldnt get me in until later that afternoon, and had me make an appointment. So I returned at that time but still had to wait 40 minutes before they started. Then, as he took my keys, he said there would be an $89 fee to determine the trouble and give me an estimate. By then it was too late in the day to go somewhere else, so I agreed. As I waited I looked everywhere for a sign telling customers about that fee, but there isnt one. Its not even mentioned in the fine print on the service ticket I had to sign before they would look at my car; the guy at the counter just wrote it on there. Anyway, they came back with a diagnosis and an estimate of over $800 to fix it. They also said my serpentine belt was cracked and should be replaced right away. I decided to go to another garage (Warehouse Tire) for a second opinion. They checked out the brake issue for free, and the repair was $280 lower than The Auto Shop. And, the second mechanic found no cracks in the belt, saving me at least another $80.

I dont have a shade tree mechanics level of car repair knowledge but I do have an OBDII reader and have done a bit of car work so I generally know pretty much what is wrong with my vehicle when i take it in for repair. Over the years i have probably used a dozen garages in central Missouri and right now The Auto Shop is number 1.

I went to another auto repair shop, coupons in hand, for a oil change and fuel system cleaning. To my surprise, my water pump went out right then and there. The price quoted was outrageous, so I began my search for good reviews in Jefferson City and the first place I called was The Auto Shop. Service was great from the get go. Prices were compatible with most places and the service was friendly and professional throughout my experience. I highly recommend The Auto Shop to all of my fellow Jeff Citians!

Really friendly and professional staff. However, I made an appointment and told them what was wrong but I only got as far as paying $50 to diagnose the issue I had already diagnosed and told them about on the phone when I made the appointment. Then, they didnt even have time to fix the problem and needed me to come back in two days. They had the part to fix it but not the time (1-2 hours). Wouldnt that be something to say on the phone when I made the appointment? I understand that auto shops must diagnose problems on their own but knowing they wouldnt have the time to fix the problem should be made clear before they let me schedule an apointment and pay $50. They clearly took advantage of me and pocketed 50 easy dollars.

They were very professional and polite! They were very efficient, too! They got me in and out in less than an hour when I went in expecting to need to leave my car at least overnight. Theyre also more than fair when it comes to pricing. Thanks, Danielle and Danny!!

Bottom line, Im stationed 12 hours away from Jefferson City and The Auto Shop is the ONLY place I take my vehicles (BMW Sedan and Toyota Prerunner) for service.Im a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer in the US Army Special Forces (The Green Berets).. to say Im particular about my equipment and vehicles is a severe understatement. This shop is compromised of professionals through and through; they are true masters of their trade. I trust the diagnosis, recommendations and pricing. Once again, well done people, stand tall!

Great auto shop! Very friendly and they dont take advantage of you by fixing things that do not need to be fixed. We have a suburban that has given us lots of problems and have taken it to a couple places before we took it to the Auto Shop and they have never been able to fix it. My car broke down on my way to st. Charles mo. The owners were so kind. They offered me free coffee and water amd snacks with a phone charger. They had a comfortable waiting room and they determined my cars.issue immediately. Even though their lot was full of cars. They gave me a ride to and f rom the mall and checked on me while i gathered my belongings. Aaa plus for customer service. Best car service i have ever had.

VW Jetta Great experiance! We all hate getting repairs done to our vehicles the money and time all of it is a hassle. But The Auto Shop made it a somewhat better experience because to be honest unless someone does it all for free there is always going to be bad parts lol. After the initial inspection for the things I needed looked at they sent a text with a link to my car and all of the issues good and bad that they found. I thought I was going to need 4 tires they said only 2 that was great. I needed an oil change they sent back pics of the air filters that needed changed. There were videos and explinations for everything good and bad. The only thing I needed fixed that they could not find an answer for was my ac. They checked every thing out so it boiled down to a computer problem and they were honest and said they could not fix it. I was sure I was going to have to replace the whole thing. They could have milked me for a lot more money but they didnt and that means a lot.

They did my rear brake in a jiffy and turned my rotors one last time saving me a bunch of $$$. They are always looking out for my pocket book but if something isnt safe I trust them to not let me leave with out it getting it fixed. I love the Auto Shop!

Very expensive and told me my belt and belt tensioner needed to be changed, I got it changed did nothing and my belt was just like the new one and didnt tell me what was actually wrong my car which is a catalytic converter, which two non-machanics told me what was wrong with it within 5 minutes of driving it.
