What an amazing honest man. I was broke down a little past Jerome and he had no problem coming to tow me to his shop to see what was wrong. Ended up being a blown engine pretty much so he towed me and my vehicle back to Pocatello which was a 122 mile drive. I have never had such a great experience with someone, especially being from out of town. He was willing to do anything to get me and my wife home. Very honest and upfront with his prices and timing as well.. I will absolutely recommend this man to ANYONE.

I ended up having a complete crate motor replacement in my 2011 F350. Brian was outstanding at letting me know and understand what the time line would be and the cost. He even finished ahead of schedule. This was a fairly stressful situation because of the cost involved but Brian kept the information and communication open and frequent. I don’t remember the last time I was really happy with both the customer service and the quality and professionalism. I highly recommend Black Bear Diesel for anything in automotive service.

My wife, kids, and I packed up our home and hit the road in our brand new fifth wheel on Saturday 9/25 and were heading to Texas from Central Oregon. Along the way we ran into trailer brake issues which we got fixed and headed to Twin Falls.We got as far as the Bliss Rest Area before our truck displayed “Cleaning Engine. Continue driving” followed by “Engine Power Reduced” and we were crawling up a hill towing our 43’ 5ver.All diesel repair places were closed or did not answer their phone so we had to camp at the rest area for the night (not ideal with a wife and 2 kids IMO).After calling a few other places with no luck, I had to wait the night out at the truck stop before I called and spoke to Brian at 6am and told him my situation. He answered right away and was very friendly, accommodating, and very calm which helped me tremendously as I was feeling defeated and super concerned with dealing with the other issues we had along our way plus I slept for 1 hr that night due to my concerns with being at a truck stop and looking for any possible solution to get my family back on track. Brian did not say that couldn’t help or say find someone else and actually was FAR more helpful/confident than I could’ve asked and was a GMC certified mechanic which was perfect to work on my Sierra 3500HD. He offered multiple options for me to feel comfortable and confident in the safety of my family.He showed up on time and towed me to his garage and quickly got to work fixing my truck (my wife and kids remained with our 5ver at the rest area). Knowing this he got to work diagnosing my truck and immediately found the issue to be my regen didn’t complete, MAF sensor, and air filter needed attention.He got me fixed up and on the road safely and with confidence the issue was fixed. We have had no issues since. 🤞🏼🤞🏼This may seem easy for some but not for us. This is now our home and being a father with 2 daughters and a wife, staying at a rest stop is not what you want for your family so our ENTIRE life in his hands. Thank you sooooooo much Brian for all the help, education, recommendations and work you did for my family and me. I HIGHLY recommend Black Bear to anyone having issues with their diesel or gasser. Brian is VERY knowledgeable and offers only what you NEED and nothing more. The experience I had with Black Bear was incredible and will definitely tell my friends and family about it. Very accommodating and was understanding of my situation. Provided options and updates throughout the process. More importantly, work was completed ahead of expected time and was done correctly.  Replaced my power steering pump, and completed a brake job. Also rotated my tires without me even have to ask! Highly recommend.
