Great local bike shop. Wide variety of products. Best part of this place is the mechanics. They are pros and can fix anything. Also very honest place. Went in thinking I had to replace many parts. They told me some things could be fixed and gave me a great price. They could have just replaced all parts, but they are very ethical. Kudos to the staff.
The owner of this shop is always great and my experience with him was awesome. When the owner isnt present and his workers are running the shop...its HORRIBLE! They are rude, dismissive, and there seems to be an underlining animosity towards non-hispanics and black people...As a black person in America, you learn to pick up on the non-verbal passive aggressiveness. Its unfortunate for the owner because he is a great spirit and always conducts good business. Ill be taking my business to Grove Street Cycles going forward...it really is too bad that his workers are so socially inept and unprofessional.
Recommendations galore. I was told for many months to bring my bike to this shop., and because of 2020 I hesitated. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to bring my Trek 820 Bicycle here. Excellent workmanship, the Clerk pinpointed what was wrong, and gave me detail description, a walkthrough of how he was going to tackle my issues with my bike’s Performance. My gears were off, my Bottom Bracket in terrible condition, plus Brakes, you name it. The mechanic at the shop was super friendly and knowledgeable. The turn around on the work (repair) was quick., in mere hours. And boy, how well does my bike ride now... so smooth. The price for repairs here so affordable, and I trust my money was well spent here. My Bike will never see another mechanic or shop again., as my Bike and wheels never looked this good. Thanks.
They are good the mechanics know what they are doing...and they get you out, as soon is possible.. they are friendly...
Luca and his team are amazing! Have never known them to be anything but extremely accommodating and always willing to go the extra mile. Jersey City is extremely fortunate to have Jersey Cycles! Lets keep em in business folks, Summer is upon us and people are gonna be ready to go a-trekkin!!! Cheers!
These guys are great..I dropped off my sons bike..they fixed it in under 2 hours and even gave him a tutorial on how to work the gears. The bike is like new....very friendly and professional..Awesome shop!
Great for ebikes. Its the only shop in Jersey City that handles them.
Theyre great. Theyre the only bike shop that works on ebikes. I love it. They helped me get started on an ebike, & Im doing good at delivering.
Wow. They were fast, efficient, performed the bike repair we needed for a childs bicycle and for a great fee. They even spotted and performed work I didnt even realize to make the bike safer and better to ride! Not a ton of selection/inventory at this time for purchasing a bicycle due to the times we are in but a great local place for beautiful, quality bicycles and bicycle repairs for sure! With a great, accessible location, I would highly recommend this local place. ; )
I’m a 17 year old, working part time. I came in and needed two new tires for my track frame fixie and had to be at work in an hour they handled my bike super quick got me out the door in like 20 mins or EVEN LESS I love this shop.
Decent bike shop
Happy to find Jersey Cycle. I thought I needed new inner tubes. I left my bike and received a call a few hours later that the tires were fine.Picked up the bike the next day - they had repaired the pedal and it was good to go. Very reasonable and friendly service. Especially during Covid19, I appreciated their speed and the seriousness with which they are managing social distancing and caring for their staff and the public. This is a gem of a local small business.
I needed a quick repair done the same day and Jersey Cycles was able to accommodate me! I called four other bike shops in the area and Jersey Cycles was the only place that even answered the phone. The staff was helpful and thorough. They listened to my problems and fixed everything quickly and effectively. They also provided solutions to help in the future. I was in and out in thirty minutes. Thanks again!!!
What can I say. Friendly, knowledgeable and fair.
No respect given to customers..very rude
These guys are the best! Been going here for years and they always put my best interests first. Ive felt like they were my friends from the moment I walked in.
Honesty is their policy. I showed up with a second-hand craigslist bike, and they said, Ride it till it dies. I value their willingness to find the best solutions for their customers even at the expense of losing work.
I found this place by accident. I just happened to be driving to Bergenline Ave to check out another bike shop and saw this in passing. Checked it out because I was curious and ended up getting a bike. I was very happy considering I had been looking for a bike for a month and a half. Very nice people and informative. They even added a basket for the front of my bike. Great place! 👌🏾
Knowledgeable and friendly service. These guys eat and breathe bicycle culture. They have done all the updates to my faithful commuter and after 2 years of daily grind and it still runs like a dream.
I love these guysAlways honest and fare
Have had some adjustments done here and also purchased some tubes and tires. I’m assuming the guy I dealt with is the owner. Very nice and knows what he’s talking about. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The clerk that fixes the bikes does not know what they are doing or how to repair bikes. I came in with an orange mongoose bike asking if he could change the screw on the handlebars because it was stripped. His reply was “hmm.. this is a factory bike and the screw cannot be replaced. The bike was poorly assembled and I would need to replace the entire handle bar and brake system on the bike. He stated I would have to pay 58 dollars to start the process. I left the shop and took my bike to JCBICYCLES Co. on Montgomery and Monticello. They replaced the screw and fixed the brakes on the handlebar within 10 minutes. Also the charge was very very reasonable and I left there very happy!! Do not take your bike to be fixed here, they are looking for a big pay day with no operational fix to your bike. What a waste!! Instead go to the bike shop on Montgomery in Jersey City!! They gave excellent advice, reasonable prices and quick service!!
Good tuneup, great staff. Only 4 stars though bc, they didnt tell me to take a spin around the park to see if I liked the tuneup though, and my disc breaks are still a bit squeaky...
Best service I got from them. And their staff is super friendly and awesome.
Great bike shop, very friendly and knowledgeable owner and staffWould definitely come back
Jersey Cycle just finish a custom build for me..!!!GREAT JOB!!!...⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you Luca & staff..Bike looks rides & feels awesome!!!!ralph mendez
These guys know their bike. Every time I ask them about a job needs to be done on a bike they always say yeah we can do it. Could be regular or an e bike.
Customer service was great, Purchase my E bike in 2 days, Very satisfied.
A few months ago, my girlfriend and I brought our bicycles in for tune ups. The owner was very bold and up-sold us on everything. After picking up our bikes up, I noticed the bearings and chain had not even been cleaned. I also had to make immediate adjustments on my derailleur. I dont think they did half of what was promised in the deep service package. Their mechanics are very bad and sloppy. They are not true bicycle mechanics, they are obviously under-trained hobbyists. Any average rider can perform their quality of work. If you care about your bike and your dollar, go elsewhere.Because this is my neighborhood bike shop, I tried to support them once again. Today, I walked over to buy 4 spokes to repair one of my bicycles. When I entered the shop, The staff was very rude and made me wait while the staff had a few more bites of food. They charged me $13 for 4 spokes! After I got home, I realized I needed a stem spacer for my project. I walked back over and pulled on the door. The door was locked. It was 6:35 pm. Their store hours claim they are open until 7pm. I looked inside and everyone was hanging out. I tapped on the window and pointed to my watch. One guy made a we are closed type gesture and rudely signaled for me to go away.I am disappointed my neighborhood bike shop is so inadequate and pompous. I have always tried to spend my money at local shops. This neighborhood is changing quickly. Its only a matter of time before another cycle shop pops up. Godspeed to any new bike shop opening in the JC Heights; you will have no competition from this unskilled, rude, over-priced, unprofessional shop.
I moved to Hudson County in late 1988. I have been riding a bicycle on its streets from day one. I am not easy on a bike. I have broken every possible part, sometimes multiple times. Winter was toughest as I popped spokes on almost every ride. Since Jersey Cycles opened, almost ten years ago, all of those issues have gone away. No other bike shop was able to do this for me or keep up with my issues. I can’t praise their staff and services enough. If you live and ride a bicycle in Hudson County there is no other choice for a shop.
Was good but no really happy.
This place is nice and affordable too. Also they fix my bike fast and done. I would recommend to this place to anyone.
Shop local ? For what? More expansiva than online treat you like you are annoying them although I was certainly a big ticket. As many others they have not realized why people don’t buy local.Quality ok.Product okService overall below average.Everything else should improve.
Just had my tires/tubes replaced here. Really friendly and knowledgeable folks, the work was done extremely fast, and very affordable pricing. Will definitely be coming back to this spot. Thanks guys!
This place made things possible
Affordable and fairly quick....clean place and my sons bike is good as new!!
Service and talk with the customers needs improvement. Also cost has to be fair and they should build the trust ..not rip the customers.
Just put a deposit on the fourth bike I am buying from them. Their service is friendly and they are mostly concerned with you getting what makes you happy as a rider. Thats why they continue to receive my business. They also know a lot of the best routes to ride for day trips which is amazing. And before I decided on whether or not to buy the bike, I was able to take five of them on a ride. Granted, this one was a big purchase and this is my fourth bike through them. And, I have not regretted a single purchase. Ready for the Spring season.
Ive bought 3 bikes from these guys. My bike was a hybrid that I used for my first sprint triathlon. They could have sold me a much more expensive bike with more features but sold me the perfect bike that I felt super comfortable riding. Always awesome with tuning and repairs. Id never go anywhere else. In fact, I am heading there again today to buy another bike for my husband.
Amazing job repairing my bicycle! Gave me an estimate within 5 minutes of bringing my bike in and called me a couple days later and she was good as new!
Got a new bike here and they were really helpful during the whole selection and set up process.
The best bike shop in the area--absolutely worth a trip up the hill. Friendly, knowledgeable, patient staff. . A real asset to the community.
Nice clean helpful but a little pricey.
They fixed my bmx bike A1 day 1.
I bought a nice bike at Walmart but the bike was not riding smooth. I had this shop work on the bike and it rides great now. They got out all the kinks in the bike. I am very satisfied!
We just stopped in to purchase a helmet for our son. The service was great and the owner was extremely nice. I love supporting our local businesses!!
I came in for a fork installation which would usually cost less than 50 bucks. but the guy on the register said my 1 inch fork doesnt fit my bike. So i went and bought a used fork from them for $70, as they where installing it i seen the mechanic bending the dropout back in place. at first i didnt mind it (which i regret) and I also bought a origin8 headset. all in all it cost me about $120. WAIT IT GETS BETTER, a couple of months later riding that fork i noticed the crack on the same drop out that was being bent back to place. i was very disappointed. Looking for a quick fix I tried putting on my old fork the one jersey cycle said that didnt fit on my frame turns out the headset i bought of them fit perfectly with the bike.meaning i could of saved my self 70-80 bucks if i didnt go to them. To sum it all up Jersey Cycle is just another bike shop trying to make a quick buck out of you. AVOID THIS STORE try Another bike shop near by James Vincent Bicycles on Palisade
Talk too much instead listen to you, been there just for help my friend, very bad experience, customer makes you, it’s not mean you make feel bad customer, I will not let my friend goes there any more
Found them quite expensive as compared to other bike shops in nearby. They quoted $20 for a menial work which require 1 min, got it fixed at another place for $5 dollar.Staff is unfriendly.
Turned around my tuneup in a day. Very nice selection of products and they all seem to know what theyre doing. Very personable as well, which is a plus.
Good prices, great mechanics, this place has the best reputation around so dont believe any bad reviews by idiots on Google reviews page, they work at competing bike shops or just dont listen when the answers to their questions get technical.I live in hoboken and this place take 5 minutes to get to from the elevator, and is a hundred times better than Flos, and no other shop can beat their repair turnaround times!! I trust them to repair my single speed and any higher end projects I have ever come up with.
Luca was great and totally hooked me up with a great SE Lager. Professional prompt service that wont break the bank.5 star rating!
Ask them what time they take store closed they told me 8 oclock I told them I need my bike I have a big event the next day for 4 oclock in the morning.I sent a friend to pick up the bike in to pay for it.I call to let them know the phone just goes to voicemail no one answers the calls.they refused to give my friend the bike.who was there to pay for it.and I got screwed over.he needs to go open up a liquor store cuz all they interested in is drink drink drink drink get their drinking on.
This shop is awesome their service is military fast great professional. There is no pretense here, no mireda just good service. The mofos rock!
The guys at jersey cycles take good care of my two-wheeled stallion for very reasonable prices. Service is always quick and top notch as well.
I had to get break fixed of a brand new bike, I had incorrectly assembled it + change the break cable. They charged $82. This is my first bike so I am not entirely sure but guessing that it was expensive to spend that kind of money in fixing up the break. The bike cost is $130. :).. Anyways if you are ok with the amount other things were fine. They said it will take 3 hours because they had some other bikes to fix and they did fix it in 3 hours.
After I got hit by a car, I took my bike to Jersey Cycles to get it fixed. The guy looked at my bike, aligned my front wheel, fixed the handle bar on the left, tested and made sure my bike was fully operational before it left their shop. I will recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
Spent 86$ in repairs and the only thing they did right was my brakes
Great experience with Jersey Cycles. Living in Hoboken this is not only super close but one of the best bike shops in the area! Not only did they hook up bike with some much needed new parts .. they actually machined a channel in my frame to hide my annoying rear brake cable. This was a problem that had vexed me since I built the bike. So glad to have it fixed and at an amazing price!
Came here last week, with a tire that needed a new tube. Dont know how the heavy set guy is. But offered Very bad customer service if any. Told me the price of the tube $7 I think gave me the tube took my money and thats it. Didnt offer to help me installed or if I Needed any assistance even though I was with the tire. I thought I give this shop a try since its a neighborhood shop and all and trying to enrich jersey city but buying local, but nah I think next time Ill just go to Walmart. Ill have to find what Im looking for on my own but at least the cashiers are friendly.
Service is good and the employees during my visit were well informed. I don’t always make a buying choice based on reviews that others post, instead, at times I try the establishment or product first so I can form my own opinion. One should use common sense and be fair when posting reviews.I ride a Bianchi ria nirone7 road bike and I absolutely love this thing. I ride in all weathers; on rainy, sunny and summer days. During my visit to Jersey cycles for a “wheel truing” I walked out pleased with the level of service received and I even made a purchase of my second bike which he ordered for me. Had it not been for the service it is doubtful that I would make another purchase or make Jersey Cycles my go to bike shop!
Great bike shop. Luca and Nicole were really helpful!!
Exceptional service. I only went here for a bike tune up for my Elite Razor because Grove st bicycles building caught on fire (the day I had an appointment).... So I said I might as well try another shop. I walked in and asked about 50 questions because I bought my bike used and the shifting wasnt working right. This guy knew immediately that my shifter on the handlebar didnt match my durailer and advised me to swap it out for my original shifters (which I already had). Then he did a tune up and this bike works like new. The breaks work 100% better. So then I brought in my gfs bike to him as well and he did a great job on that. The price might not be the cheapest, but these guys do extremely good work!
I called to ask if they sell used bikes and the man was rude and then hung up. Horrible customer service experience.
Lucas is very knowledgeable & accomidating, hes is in the process of getting a bike safety program together for the kids here in town so Im glad to have em.
Absolutely rude, they have a new employee that always try to make you come back. Do not let this people touch your bike ever.
Since I am from Hoboken, I was expecting pricey Floo on the wheels will be open, and off course they were not. So I called these guys, they said no problem step buy and we will finish whatever need to be done. Next, it was done in no time, very plesant people and also few kids that learning a business. I am very happy with service, price and timing. Thank you guys!!!
This became my local shop after I moved only a few blocks away from their store front. I have learned so much from them working on my bike. I have also learned how to become a better rider as well. What I like al ot about them is that they are not money hungry. They actually talk to you so see what you want/need and see what they can do with the budget you have.Do not be afraid to walk in and just ask questions or take a look at the variety of bikes they have :)
The worst I have ever met. I wont go there anymore . Never ever let them touch your bicycle!
Nice guys, great service, good equipment selection
