Cashier was super friendly up front whereas the guy with the guns not so much. He kind of acted like he just really didnt want to be there that day, reluctant to answer questions and huffed seeing that more customers were needing help as well. Other than that, all around great store, set up nicely to make it easier for first time customers (like I was) to easily find what we need.

Always a great place to shop for outdoor activities and adventures. The check out line is always backed up when I seem to go, but they must be doing something right to keep people coming back.

We really like academy sports its a everything you need store. That is if your not HANDICAPPED. Your store has one rider buggy and it wont hold a charge for me to make one trip around the store. For a multi billion dollar chain I would believe you could be a little more in tune with customers that may need those services. I spend a lot of money on my children here and would appreciate a little bit of thought as a handicapped customer.

Awesome scenery and trails. This is the best off road park we have experienced so far. The only drawback was the store where you pay to get in. Very limited snacks and drinks (1 Refridgerator).No actual store. They do offer t-shirts and hats. Very friendly and helpful.The Buffalo are amazing. Everything was reasonably priced.

It is a decent place to shop for fishing tackle. They usually have what I like.

I love to shop at Academy but they really have to do something about their poor checkout experience. Even during the middle of the week I see lines that are 15+ people long like it was today. They need to have more checkers, be more responsive to reallocate staff or provide a self checkout option like everyone else. It sometimes makes me leave the store and go elsewhere for my purchases.

Bought a crawfish boiler and they happily brought it out to the car for us. Check out line was long but moved quickly! Store was very clean!

Guns are priced reasonably. Didnt have much in the field cameras. Very good prices. Friendly and helpful.

Love this store the manager Michael Glass is wonderful. I have spoken with him several times as I shopped there. The staff there is always great and helpful this is just an amazing store.

I Drove an hour and half both ways to Jonesboro I was during to pick up my Nike Shorts because it was the only day or night in the next week that I could get them up. Plus they wouldn’t be delivered for over a week if shipped. I needed another pair for work. I picked them up in a sealed shipping type bag. Before I left I opened it and checked the color and size. Ii was good to go. But not so good when I got home because they didn’t remove the security tag and why didn’t the alarm go off. I don’t care if people bought I stole it. Ha. So I called the store and asked how to remove it. The guy said he couldn’t tell for security purposes. I get it. I asked a local store in my town could do it? But knowing my luck it would set the security alarm would go off if I took to another place!) He just said No.it has to be removed @ our store, Honestly the more I think this? More than the forgetting to remove the security tag, the drive, etc. it was the guy that talked to me on the phone wasn’t very empathetic and didn’t really act like he cared. He didn’t even apologize until I said I’ll hopefully go and get it next weekend if I can find some time. Then he was reluctantly apologetic and I’m pretty confident he’s the guy who checked me out. Geez! This was silly. I’ll live and it’s not the EOW. Apparently I just needed to vent. Because In the grand scheme of life it’s not more than a A Fart in the Wind! Thanks for Listening. And I just changed my rating and moved it up a spot because I forgive Dude! Ha.

They have great options and if you catch them during clearance time. The end of July-Aug you can find some pretty good deals.

If they kept their eyes on customers who L👀K lost in finding what they were looking for, and got to them quickly to give them their attention, I could rate them better. Their employees could improve their concern for customers and improve their business.

A great place to shop for most any outdoor needs. Guns, ammo, bows, arrows, hunting gear, sports equipment, clothing, and much more.

Way expensive, went in for a couple spinning reels and a couple rods, I was looking at way over $200 for that. I can beat that double at mountain home, so I decided without a doubt to wait. Now the selection of tackle was good, but their rods were only for the rich man. I was shocked when I drove 40 miles to get there, just to see that.

Update: Ive spoken to corporate several times and they forwarded all relevant info to the local director Michael. I received a phone call while I was in class so I explained I couldnt talk. I also work nights so I asked him to call me back the next morning. I even called the store back and spoke with Chase (manager) and offered a face to face meeting and was told they dont know when hed be there. Two weeks later and Im still waiting. I suppose if you tell their insurance team that you dont intend on filing a lawsuit, youre not worth their time. Unprofessional, lousy customer service, and absolute zero concern for other peoples valuable time.I received the worst customer service that Ive ever encountered anywhere inside this store. I sliced my pinky finger almost to the bone on a cardboard box (theirs) while checking out. I started bleeding profusely and the cashier and other workers were totally unconcerned. I bled on the floor, on the counter, and inside the basket I was holding. I even bled on some clothing I was going to purchase. I was given a paper towel and the tiniest band aid available. When I asked for something larger, I was told they didnt have anything bigger than that. Camping, hunting, sporting, and you don’t have anything larger than a spot band aid? They shuffled me out as soon as they could while I was bleeding all over the place. Never even received an apology. The only person that was concerned was another customer at the other register that actually asked if I was all right. I will never spend another cent at Academy.

Excellent customer service. Store Director Michael Glass went above and beyond taking care of a minor issue. This is the most outstanding customer service Ive ever seen. I will always be a loyal customer to this store after this experience.

Academy is a great store for those who enjoy a more sporty look, love the quality of fabric here and always get my tennis shoes from here.

The only reason Im giving Academy 4 stars is because they hardly have any fishing stuff. I talked to the staff and they say they are cutting back on equipment. Bathrooms was clean, staff was nice. I was still go back and hope they get more fishing stuff!

Great store, really helpful staff! The store was pretty well stocked except for the guns ammo and accessories area. I went for BB gun accessories, targets, pellets for my Sons new BB gun we ordered online and the shelves were bare with the exception of targets. It would have been nice to have more people on the registers at closing time instead of just running one register. The line was 10 to 15 people long. However, the overall experience was what you would expect from academy sports and outdoors during this global pandemic.

I was nervous about purchasing a handgun and the guys at Academy went far above what I expected in customer service! The store was very organized and clean! The cashier also had a wonderful attitude about me leaving my healthcare card in the car. Everyone was kind and genuine about the information they proved. I definitely recommend this place!!

Went looking for hiking boots and my size was not in stock on multiple different styles.

There is a wide selection of sporting goods, exercise equipment, apparel, and so much more. The prices are on the higher end of competitive pricing (if you are wanting lower prices you may need to try Wal-Mart, 5 Below, or others)

We asked one of the young men working and he was able to go locate and also carried to the check out for us and even offered to carry to our car. I would like to say that everyone in the gun department or grate people.Ive bought my guy from them and had a few issues with my paperwork going through not there fault.This guys have gone far and beyond for me thank aaron and Dustin and his co-workers behind the counter.P.S If things dont go your way dont take it out on them they are just doing there job.

Since covid this store has hardly anything on the shelves. Surprised it is still open. I shop at a local sporting goods or make the drive to Memphis to Bass Pro.

The last two or three times that Ive been in there they are not very stocked up on things. The gun department is almost non-existent and shoe department seems to focus on very certain sizes. I asked if they can order me some boots and they gave me some outrageous the story about it would take a month for me to get them. I have also called them on two occasions asking about certain things if they were in stock I was told yes on both occasions and both occasions Ive got there and found out that they have been out of those products for days.. wouldnt be such a big deal if I actually lived in Jonesboro but I live almost 40 miles away

Customer service was indifferent as usual. The three people at the registers talked among themselves without stopping while we were checked out. The prices were not competitive enough to warrant a return visit.

Pretty much the best place for anything hunting, fishing, sports and camping related in this town.The fishing section alone is huge compared to Walmarts, with a wide selection of hard and soft baits to choose from.

This is the ONLY store where I can find shoes for my specific needs in footwear. I especially appreciated the store manager, Michael, letting me enter the store fifteen minutes before opening because my disability prohibits me from standing. Also the salespeople were right by my side assisting me and making sure I had what I needed.If I could give more stars, I would. The staff went above the line of duty to help me and I left with more merchandise than I had intended on buying because they were so kind to me.

I loved the atmosphere here!! The employees were very helpful and even though they dont assemble the bicycles, they still inflated the tires and checked it out to make sure there wasnt any problems! The sell guns, ammo, barbecues and all types of workout items including workout clothes! The bicycle was cheaper than Walmart too!!! $129 with tax included compared to $248 plus tax. Real awesome place to shop at!!!

My husband and I have been to the gun counter twice and both times the gentlemen working were rude. The first time the counter person ignored us (only people there) until we finally stole his attention from his cell phone and made him show us the limited stock. The second time was worse. Couldnt get the guy to say anything other than out of stock and no idea when they would have anything because the warehouse was out. I get the out of stock issue- the attitude was horrible.

We found very thing we needed. Checker was very polite.
