As far as truck stops go, Joplin 44 Petro is the best I’ve ever seen 😀 they have an entire section with truck parts and another section that is a gift shop with tons of stuff to browse through. They also have the usual chain fast food restaurants and coffee shop. When we visited they were having a truck show and the place was pretty packed. If you are driving through Joplin, stop by to stretch your legs 😀

My experience at Joplin petro 44 mechanic shopAs a owner operator.. I called late night around 2300 and spoke to John he was nice to say come right in and we’ll get your oil change done .. don’t know what happened he passed the call to another rep there by the name of Jeff who was completely RUDE and did not know what he was talking about when it came down to oil brands and Quality he lied to me just to get sell and go home .. the man who did my oil change was very nice and knowledgeable about his job … going to be calling TA corporation and explain my situation.. thank you again TA for another bad experience there .

Petro is Good spot for truck drivers. it is one of the a busiest store but they have big truck parking.-You’ll find Wide variety to pick tools, lights or any accessories for your big rig. -They have clean restrooms & showers.- I love there Colombian coffee & soup.- for travelers you guys can find good stuff to buy from Missouri.

The soup at the Iron Skillet was sooo delicious! There are big trucks inside the store! The kids will love it! There seems to be everything you need to fix up you Semi. From carpets to lights to mattresses. My second trip here. Love this place!

I really like eating at the Iron Skillets at most Petro truck stops and this one is really no exception. Food is overall pretty good and not sure if they still do have the buffet for lunch and/or supper....but thats a good deal with good food. Breakfast choices are limited tho, but only by menu since they do not have a breakfast buffet back when I was last there. Not sure of Covid-19 made Petro truck stops dump the buffets there, but at least their food at their Iron Skillets are good. Their gas station/stores are great also. 4 solid stars I rate this place in Joplin, Missouri.

It is a sad occasion when you have to wait over 10 hours to get a PM done on your truck. Either they need to hire more qualified workers or get out. I arrived at 1945 and was interested in getting an ultimate PM done on my truck and was told it cant be done until 0700 the next morning. It was a good thing that I was not in dire need of the PM. I hope someone in corporate sees this. Be safe all you drivers out there.

Amazing selection of lights and accessories for big rigs

This is such an awesome truck stop! If youre a trucker and you need to do a thirty-four, this is a great place to do that. Super huge parking area for truck drivers. And really, not that many reserved spots. The showers were clean, tidy, and roomy. The drivers lounge had very comfortable seating with a huge TV on the wall. The staff was phenomenal. Very friendly and extremely helpful. They have everything that you could ever think of for your truck and then some. I was like a kid in a candy store in the knickknack shopping area. So much to look at! Love it! I really, really enjoyed my time here and I hope to come back this way again real soon!

Everything is overpriced, the quality of product is low - just the typical modern truck stop. The only difference is theyve got a lot of space compared to others to mask the highway robbery on prices. Wouldnt shock me a bit if they are remodeling the entrance to put pay-to-park booths up. Even the restaurant has become nothing more than a low quality gutter which is a shame because it used to be really good - now its dilapidated and unsanitary. Dont believe me? Go sit in a booth and check out all the food and used napkins crammed into the cushions.

Even on busiest nights you’ll find an open spot. Walk 1/4 miles to building but all paved and trash cans everywhere you look. Very clean. Nice staff. Nice very clean showers w blow dryer and fan. 5 bars on sprint & Verizon. Repair shop with 8 truck bays. Pizza Hut Taco Bell and Coffee shop in addition to the usual foods/ coffee bar. Iron Skillet restaurant.

Best travel center around.

This is definitely a beautiful truck stop. However, when they designed the truck parking, they put the lines where you have to blind-side back into the spots. Its ok if theres some wiggle room, but if not, its going to take awhile to back into these spots. My suggestion would be when they repave the lot or restripe the lot is to put the lines on the driver side. 🤔😀

This has to be one, if not, the biggest Petro Truck Stop ever!! We were staying the night at the Sleep Inn next door and the key card gets you 20% off at the Iron Skillet here, so we had to walk over and oh my!! The Petro has everything a trucker could need, even to do shopping for birthdays or Christmas! We found purses, billfolds, watches, lots and lots of toys, signs, candles, snacks among all other great items. My son had to check out the truck seats and was in awe of the truck inside and there was an antique car that held biker things in the back. There was at least 2-3 fast food restaurants inside besides the Iron Skillet. I know we didnt see everything there, we wouldve been there over an hour or more. Ill have to let my hubby know of this place if hes ever truckin through Missouri again, if he doesnt already know..huge parking lot also!!

It is sad row run down this place is now. The restaurant is filthy, service is horrible. The place smells musty there was food all over the floor and under the tables, and in the seat cushions at the booths. The health department should definitely take a look at this place. It is absolutely disgusting, and to top it off hhe manager is very rude. The Drivers lounge chairs are broken and stained. The restrooms never seem to be cleaned or stocked with paper towels or toilet paper.Its pathetic how the place is being managed.

My favorite petro by far! Their sister store Iowa 80 TA in Walcott,IA may have the distinction of largest truck stop but Joplin 44 beats them out in the ways that actually matter. Iowa 80 is def large, but feels more like a tourist attraction than a truck stop and not a place for drivers to shut down and relax for their breaks. Joplin 44 isn’t much smaller. Has all the things truckers like in terms of aftermarket parts but it is much cleaner. Less crowded. Less non truck drivers and really pleasant staff!

One of the largest truck stops in the world. Sister location to the famous Iowa 80. Extremely well stocked store. Lots of souvenirs, gifts, clothing.A boatload of food choices.And if youre a trucker and you go to the truck accessory section, not only will you spend a ton of time there, its almost guaranteed youre not leaving without buying SOMETHING.

This place is huge and slightly overwhelming. Had to walk through half the warehouse before restrooms were available. Food was great! Lots of merchandise to tempt you to buy. Barber was good, and trucker services were plentiful. Absolutely exhausting to walk through it all... and Convenience store on farthest end from truck area.

Never coming back. some truck event has me stuck over an hour in mytruck. cant get out...

Baffeled beyond words at their newest entry/exit design. Absolutely one of, if not the poorest ever!! Two trucks cannot meet and continue in and out at the same time. Think oversized now?! The area is not finished yet and the concrete curb is already being broken up. So now they have added a second level of concrete to create what looks to be a future sidewalk. So now there is a hard curb, two level, 12 inch high concrete wall, guaranteed to eat rims and tires. When exiting if there are a couple trucks or a few cars and trucks in line to turn left, they have the right turn and the straight across lanes completely blocked. Seriously, who made these design descisions and worse yet got paid to do such?!?!? Shameful at best!

What point is it to have a repair shop if noone is willing to work on trucks or trailers? I came in with a simple problem and was told they couldnt work on the trailer. There wasnt even one truck or trailer in their huge shop! Might as well be closed if they dont want to work.

If u need any work done on your truck an your picky...git (Justin) to do the work. Hes a very intelligent an level headed guy an knows what hes doing. Ive had some jo blow Mechanics over the years LoL.

They have a very good selection of Chrome, gifts, souvenirs, fast food and restaurant.Clean restrooms and shower rooms.Very cozy place.Plenty of space to park.I love it especially the displaying of trucks that they got in there.

Its been a few years since I came here to get any work done at the shop. Hopefully it will be many more before I am forced to come here again.As I type this I have been sitting here waiting for over 17 hours to get a single trailer tire replaced. 1 tire... I am now parked in front of a bay, have been here for almost 30 minutes, not pulled into the bay, sitting in front of it.17 hours... 1 tire... Not done yet.

Love this location. It has everything you need in a travel plaza but does a great job of branding while also giving some great respect to its Missouri heritage. It’s a very classy area across the board and of you need some very inexpensive souvenirs they have those too. Love the mural!

This is a perfect example of “you can never make/have enough money. Fuel sales, maintenance, food, awesome store, and they charge for parking. I know it’s just reserved and they’ll tell you it’s so people later on can have a place to park. If it’s so important for those people to park why do you charge for it and why turn away people that are here now who want to park but the only open spots are reserved.

Great roadside stop with several food options, clean bathrooms, and some fun things to look at.

The restaurant selection is nice (Iron Skillet, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, PizzaHut Express, Caribou Coffee). The fast food employees dont seem to care to be there & will show you as much. The store employees & Skillet employees are nice & accommodating. The showers are decent even though they could use some updating (I seen signs saying that updates were on the way). Plenty of parking & nice fuel islands.

Huge Parking Lot, Lots of Gifts idea, Truck Accessories and Truck Shop. Lots of food choices. Clean and Friendly and baby versions of Iowa I -80. Love this place.

Place is a joke!! Bought an item and dont have the reciept. Told the people we bought eith our credit card and the item doesnt fit. We dont always get thru there. All we want to do is exchange it for a credit cuz they dont have another item that will work. Manage said 10 days with reciept. 10 days seriously? Were truckers we dont always get thru there. And i told him i dont have a reciept it was probably probably 2 months ago we bought them. He wont even give us a credit. So were stuck with an item that dont fit. We always enjoyed stopping here when we did. Guess we dont shop here anymore. Place has gone down hill. Never had issues before. They could just look it up with our card or give us a credit.

We were traveling through and stopped late one evening for a shower. The sweet lady behind the counter, Rasid was so kind and made us feel so at ease, as we were nervous about the virus. The facility was very clean. Would highly recommend as this is a shoppers paradise and the variety of food was phenomenal. Definitely stop on your next trip through Joplin!

So went to return an all weather seat cousin. not comfortable at all. i’ve been crushing around the west coast for about 1 month. got here. tried to return it. said after 10 days it has to be an exchange. they don’t do gift cards anymore. i totally understand that. but what got me was the guy helping the girl at the register said “ if u were like a truck driver and was gone for a while we might be able to make an acceptation” i said “oh i am a truck driver. i’ve been on the west coast until now. the first 7 hrs i sat on this it was no longer comfortable that’s y i’m returning it.” well i guess because i don’t look like a truck driver or something he went back on what he just said and said it has to be an exchange. i would appreciate a phone call or a response from someone at petro explaining to me 1st why that guy said that, if he wasn’t even going to honor what he said. 2nd. how i am not a good enough truck driver for someone to make an exception for when i was just told if i was a driver they could. had to exchange $75 worth of stuff i didn’t need right now to do the return. oh and on the plus side i just pumped $300 worth of diesel fuel in my truck. guess that’s not enough to make me a good enough driver for them to make an acceptation on a $75 return. thanks a lot petro in joplin mo for ur driver appreciation. i haven’t been treated like that since i left my ex

You can acquire clothing, a hair cuts, barbecue at a buffet, a hot showers, parts for your truck or trailer, or accessories for everything Industry related. They sell guitars, bumpers, cell phone this and thats ect......

Im not going to give them a no star. However, their customer services is like most other truck stops. Service is no good.I went in on the 8th of November 2019 and purchased two sets of rain guards for my two trucks. We installed my drivers before we even left the parking lot. However I knew I would be sitting on the 10 of November 2019 so I would install mine for my 2016 Volvo 780.On Sunday I pulled them out of the box and the passenger side rain guard was broke, right out of the box.So that same day I sent a message to their website so I would not forget. They contacted me Tuesday 12 of November 2019 and assured me they would send me a new one for the passenger side.Since then I have contacted them every single week and still no rain guard.This is very sad for me cause over the 25 years of have my own truck and trucking business. I have had nothing but good service from this business. But like they say one bad time will be remembered for ever.I guess I will just have to go on amazon or something and order another one or something.Just hate to through away the $100 I spent on this no good to me item.

Husband and I love this place. Good food. Eye candy upstairs and downstairs. Clean bathroom. Walking around with so much to look at is fun.We love the green & real trucks inside. We come as often as we can, since we never get to Iowa80.Appreciate not being harrassed about the ridiculous mask. I am anti mask..

I would give a 0 star rating. Im new to the area and I work overnights. The cashier supervisor Jamie and the cashier Cheryl all they want to do is take pictures with the sheriffs and flirt with them. I even overheard Jamie tell Cheryl shes sending Aaron a message telling him about making a calender with all the hotties I needed gas but I left and went to Pilot. My money is just as good there as it is with Petro. Also some advice dust your coffee pots off. Its disgusting and I wont get food or drink from here again.

It was my first time going to Joplin 44 Petro truck stop, and I must say I was very impressed about everything. Great place to park your tractor trailer, if you need to get something to eat or if you’re running out of driving hours. This is a huge, nice, clean and beautiful all around place. Highly recommended to all the truck drivers out there.

Nice truck stop with plenty of parking spaces but limited seating inside the Iron Skillett restaurant and very small menu so you might have to order To go but its still a great place to visit

My husbands steer burger was supposed to me med rare it was burnt. Told waitress she said ok and walked away. So husband talked to Mgr and the waitress came back over with new receipt and she said in a snotty voice. If thats what u wanted you should have told me instead of talking to the Mgr. Well its ur job to.offer that since he couldnt eat it and u didnt. Will look next time we come in to make sure waitress Linda WILL NOT wait on us again.

Very large and very nice Petro. The Iron Skillet is open for business and open for 24 hours (rare these days but we were glad to see it)! We are transporters and were pulling a 40’ 5th wheel and security was nice enough to help us find a place to park. They have several restaurants, nice gift shops, a barber shop, a truck shop and fantastic large, modern, clean showers with all of the amenities that are standard with TA/Petro showers. I believe this Petro is a sister location to the I-80 truck stop in Walcott, IA so it’s as nice, but not quite as big. We don’t travel this route very much but when we do, this will be one of our regular stops.

Walked up to the counter today with a part number, looking for a $1,000.00 seat. Lady wasnt willing to type in a part number. Just what you see on the floor is what we got. Said ok turned around and walked out with my cash and my parts list. Will buy online.

This place represents everything that a truck stop should be. Its sheer size means you never have to worry about parking, and it has various dining options. Including being able to sit down inside like a real human being. Unfortunately, too many other places have been pandumbicing away their loyalty when it comes to that. Props to Petro for actually supporting drivers.

Stopped for breakfast couldnt get it done. 1/2 tables closed for covid, the other half taken up by locals or Rvers. truck drivers on a schedule are forced to eat fast food instead of a decent meal. Way to support the truckers. I buy about 900 gallons of fuel a week on my run, wont be at petro.

This is the Candyland of truck stops! Snacks & candy galore. A gift shop full of fun & unique gifts. The Super Truck Showroom... wow 🤩 I especially loved the hands on experience with the two trucks they have on display. A must stop for any tourist looking for a break on I-44.

Dont pass it up. Open bar, resteraunt, Taco Bell, Orange Julius, coffee cafe similar to Starbucks. A lot of room to walk off a long travel, breathing room and souvenir shopping. Generals Hot Sauce can be found here btw, that is a good find. I walked out with Taco Bell and a chilled caramel frappuccino. My only criticism is the gas pumps. Dont trust the pumps auto off switch, I jumped on the road and realized it stopped short at only half a tank, bad news right there. This place is so unassuming from the road, worth a good half hour visit if ya have the time.

In times like these, time efficiency is important, i stood in line for almost 45 minutes just to have people go ahead of me to eat in the restaurant, come to find out, theres a secret handshake or something to get on tge list to be seated. Most aggravated that they were seating families that live locally ahead of drivers, thats a heck of a way to support the drivers

*Service shop* called ahead by 3 hours to schedule tire patch/replacement due to puncture and pm for truck. After confirming 4 times that we would be able to get in quick due to the nature of the load, the service staff attempted to tell us it would be between 1 to 2 hour wait. After going back and forth a bit, we were finally able to get the trailer serviced. After trailer service we had to wait for a pm. We gave the techs on staff, original tech to take first call was Eli, 2nd tech was Michael, the description of our truck (2021 volvo) and told them we need full synthetic as it would be the trucks first pm and they confirmed the details. After sitting for a total of 7 hours, the mechanic pulled us into the bay just to tell us no one informed him that it was a newer volvo and they didnt know so they cant get the oil or filters... The level of disregard and incompetence here seriously hindered our ability to deliver the critical freight needed into the timely manner promised. We will not be returning to this location for any future service, emergency or planned. The coffee shop here is amazing though. Would very much recommend Caribou Coffee.

Shower remodel almost complete...(the guy who said he got yelled at by the mgr beacuse he showered with his family and took forever to finish-im sorry but you are cheap...why didnt you get a team shower? It uses the same points as one shower and you could have split your family up..if not just buy your wife a seperate shower..she doesnt deserve it?)Anyway big place, chrome shop is a little pricey and half the staff have zero knowledge of what they sell there..but I still enjoy browsing.

This place is probably one of the biggest stops Ive been to in a very long time. Great place for a quick stop. There is a wide variety of restaurant stands( Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, DQ) to grab a quick bite from. There is a whole bunch of souvenirs and supplies to pick from that you cant really find everywhere. They have pretty much every possible thing that a trucker or anybody making a stop could need. Altogether, great place to refuel and buy some interesting things.

Horrible place. They keep saying their new pumps will be up soon but theyre not. Management here wont help out. Jamie and Cheryl, both shift leads flirt with the officer on duty so nobody gets help. Ill go to Pilot or Loves from now on.

Any truck stop that makes 99% of their parking blindside backing is 1 star. And they use the cheapest coffee setup there is. Maybe they should update their fuel building? Its not 1990 anymore.

44 Petro is good with plenty of parking, truck wash, & haircut. But I do not recommend iron skillet food. Their chop steak has so much filler as their hamburgers. For the high price the beef should be 100% lean ground beef but its pretty nasty food.

First off the employees seem very disconnected, not discourteous but not friendly in nature. No greetings, just zero, unlike IOWA 80 or Kenley. This place looks some what looted. Empty shelves in many areas, shirts and well everywhere. Sad reality, I wish I was in charge of inventory. Cant figure out how to add photos, my bad. Aloha

Very nice place lots of cool stuff, some of it is kinda pricey. Bathroom I went in was nice and clean. But get here early to get a good spot.

Broke down in Seneca. Joplin 44 sent a technician out, diagnosed my problem and gave me a tow company to call. When we got to the shop they had located the part but said itd be morning. Truck was repaired timely in a huge, clean shop.Decided since I was there to fuel before I left but hadnt used my Ultra One in awhile. Ashley took her time and walked me through the process and made sure everything was reactived so that I could receive the points.Awesome place with great people.

Stopped here for a 30 and went in for snacks. Found out they are the only truck stop in America where when you buy Redbull at the 2 for X amount, they have to be the same flavor. Every place else you can mix flavors. I should of just returned them and went across the street.

Terrible experience, lot security chased me out of a space near the door, 2 seconds after I backed in.Did you pay for the space boy?No, Im going in right now to do so. I had surgery and need to be close to the door to run in and pay.You cant effing park here, move!!Even worse, after I did and went inside to complain, the manager on duty refused to hear my complaint.Absolutely the worst ever experience Ive ever had there.I will never shop there again, either for diesel or lunch.
