Phenomenal service and guides. We had the most memorable and amazing experience with this company. Carrying the kayak to the beach was not an issue at all and they made it very convenient. Snacks and food tasted fantastic as well. The guide was also very educational and informative throughout the trip. If you are wondering if you should do a trip with this company, do it! Only negative is that their picture taking skills are a bit blurry so remember to bring a waterproof case for your phone and selfie it up.

My first time Kayaking and I had a great adventure. I took the 1:15pm trip and had the pleasure to have Ian and Austin as my tour guides. Both stayed with us through the trip and gave us a the best experience! Love this place I will definitely come back for a second trip

Was an amazing time went out to an island on a 5 hour kayak tour with Brian and Alvin as our guides. Ask for these guys if you can they were very knowledgeable about the island and the wildlife.

Alan gave us a GREAT 2 hour kayak tour! Gave great instruction on how to kayak. Learned a lot from what he explained about the islands and their history. We were comfortable kayaking and would have really enjoyed a longer tour, but didnt have the time. If youre a beginner, great way to get your feet wet😉. If youre comfortable kayaking(even lake or river) and have the time, go for a longer experience than the 2 hour tour. It will be worth it. Thanks Alan for the fun experience! We appreciated the tour!

They are expensive and take advantage of their location (which is a good location for sure) yet run a nicely staffed service and shop. But the cashier didnt honor my coupon which was weird because I got the coupon from the airport (minus one star for that!). Beware that the kayak rentals are very self service - you have to haul these heavy things on rollers for quite a while down paved roads and bike trails and over sandbars before you get to the ocean. If youre able bodied its not a problem but those with limitations should look for somewhere more convenient. Altogether a great paddle out to the bird sanctuary, but not as easy an endeavor as the shop makes it seem from their videos and brochure.

This was by far the highlight of our trip!! If you are thinking about doing the guided kayak tour…. Worth EVERY PENNY! Located in such a cool town Kailua, near a beautiful beach; this shop is so cool and the guides so friendly. Kayaking out to the island was an amazing experience. The guides were knowledgeable and it felt like I was experiencing a live National Geographic show. The guided tour generously included a delicious lunch and use of snorkel gear so we could see tropical fish and sea turtles once on the island. When we got back, the shop even allows us use of their equipment until they close at 5. Again… the shop is so cool. Laid back, friendly…. I just can’t rave about it enough! Purchase a guided tour! Buy clothes at the shop! Make a life time memory you won’t regret it. Shout out to Tommy and Kathy

We had a great experience kayaking out to Flat Island and Lanikai Beach. The weather was great and the waters fairly calm. The staff at Kailua Beach Adventures, especially Brian and Jamie, were helpful and friendly. The instructions and video were great to prepare us for what to expect. We walked around Flat Island and the rock formations and wild life was interesting and beautiful. There were both young children and seniors enjoying the experience. Be sure to bring along snorkeling gear to use at Lanikai Beach. People of all ages would really enjoy this activity.

Tommy was a great guide! We had so much fun on our trip even though the waters were very rough and we couldn’t snorkel. Everyone was so nice and it was a great time!

This place made renting kayaks painless. The staff was really friendly and sounded like they really knew what they were talking about. We got there early and they were still able to get us set up and we went from two kayaks to one two person one with no problem. Dont let the short walk to the water scare you it was an easy walk.

Fantastic company! If you want to go paddle boarding they have some great suggestions and areas in which you can head out to. They also have the ability to mount the boards to nearly every kind of car which is great. The gal who helped us was very kind and I appreciate them helping me create some great memories.

Austin was absolutely amazing! So knowledgeable about the islands, lots of tips, we aren’t the best at kayaking and our boat flipped a couple times and he immediately helped us and made the entire experience wonderful and so much fun! Would definitely recommend doing the tour with Austin!

Fantastic trip. Was a bit windy and the trip there was a bit longer but had a ton of fun. Not too physical. Brian, our guide, was super helpful and got us thru the windy waters even tho we didnt have any kayaking experience.

Wow they took great care of us and have a well oiled system. If u want a kayak adventure with your family this is the place. Mike our tour guide is just super cool. He noticed my wife and I slowing down and came to our rescue and gave us a break with his vip tow service 😜. He took many fun pictures for our group and airdropped it to us at the end. We met the cutest seal on the island. But… do be aware that your endurance will be tested and your relationship if going with a spouse or boy/girl friend 😥

This was such a memorable day during our trip! Brian and Jamie and the entire staff were fantastic! I went with my boyfriend and my parents and the day we went was pretty calm. They prepared us for what to expect and how to get to the surrounding islands and beaches. The beaches were beautiful!! Highly recommend doing this!

Very smooth & easy process renting kayaks through Kailua Beach Adventures. Everyone that worked there was super nice and worked very efficiently. We rented 2 single kayaks on a Sunday so it was unguided. They gave us great instructions and had us watch a very helpful safety video. We kayaked to Lanikai beach and snorkeled around. The beach was beautiful and the views were incredible from the kayak. I will definitely be recommending Kailua Beach Adventures to my friends & family in the future :) Thank you for an amazing experience!

Great location to rent kayak and have a tour guide take you to popoia island. I recommend goose and bear as the tour guide. After the tour you have free rein to use thier equipment. Great time and enjoy!

Took the 4hr kayak guided tour and couldn’t recommend it enough. Our guide was legit and we had a blast. I strongly recommend the guided tour your first time out. Their gift shop is also worth checking out if you’re looking to bring back gifts or keepsakes that won’t break the bank.

This was a fantastic excursion! We had Goose as our tour guide and he was super knowledgeable and so nice! He was really laid back and great! I did the 5hr tour and it was a work out so if you arent athletic, I wouldnt recommend the long tour. We learned a lot about the little island which was really fascinating and swam in the queens bath! We spent about 45 mins swimming/snorkeling and we saw fish and turtles! That made the trip for me. I definitely recommend it.

We went out with Goose earlier this week for the guided Twin Islands kayak tour. Cannot recommend enough! Goose was knowledgeable and personable and made the trip super fun. He took his job seriously, taking care to ensure everyone on the island respected the wildlife and keeping our group members safe out on the water. Highly recommend!

Bear guided us on a five hour long tour to the twin islands. We saw a monk seal on the beach and several sea turtles and fish while snorkeling around the island. Lunch was served at the beach and you couldnt ask for a better view. Bear was knowledgeable of the local plants, legends, and history. He talked story to us at the beach and again on the return trip. The kayaking itself was challenging but doable. Luckily the hard part is getting to the island and coming back is much faster. I would recommend taking some sea sickness pills even if you normally dont need them as the waves can feel bigger in your small kayak. 10/10, absolutely loved our experience!

My mom and I ended up having a great time here but I do want to comment on a few things that I didn’t like. Firstly, when we arrived we had to make a reservation so we had to come back two hours later because I’m pretty sure they don’t accept walkins. When we came back, they put our kayaks on a cart and we had to walk .7 of a mile all the way to the drop off point with the kayaks. The cart was pretty heavy because it had both of our kayaks on it. When we got to the drop off point there weren’t any signs telling us where we should go. So we followed these guys that were in front of us with kayaks which took us to the ocean. It was hard just getting our kayaks in the ocean and we ended up all the way on the other side. The waves washed us up on the shore on the other side. And pulling these things through the sand was hard. You had to place your carts on the other side of the river so we would have to drag them all the way back. I ended up having to walk about a mile out to go get the cart and bring it back so we can put our kayaks on it and get them back to the place. For paying $69 a kayak they should have a van that loads your kayaks and takes them to help you get out in the water. In Ohio where I live, you pay $16-$20 MAX and they load/unload your kayaks and take you to the drop off point in a van. That’s how it’s been everywhere I went in Ohio to kayak. I just think for the price that you’re paying that they should provide the service for you. Overall we had some great memories but I probably wouldn’t go back here because of how difficult the process to get your kayaks out was.

My husband and I did the 2 hour tour with Goose and LOVED IT! We knew it would be fun, but we underestimated just how amazing the excursion would be and we are already planning on returning for the 5 hour tour! Goose’s energy made the experience incredible and we will be requesting him as our guide again. He was fun, super knowledgeable, moved at a pace we were comfortable with, and was always safe and made sure we knew exactly what to do in any situation. We can’t emphasize enough how great our experience was and we would highly recommend this company and this guide for anyone in the Kailua area seeking adventure and beautiful scenery! A++

We kayaked to the flat island. The other islands were too far and we were nervous to kayak that far as beginners. Please watch the recommended video beforehand as they don’t give much instructions the day of. The kayak was hard to bring back to the location with the cart. It took 10 minutes and the path to the beach is unclear.

Alan was exceptional, the area was incredibly beautiful, and the birds, the fish, the turtles, the islands- even eating the akulikuli - it all was a gift from Heaven. Thanks so much - great memories forever!

Ian and Austin were amazing guides kayaking to Flat Island in Kailua Bay! Our whole family had a great time! They were very knowledgeable, skilled and patient with our kids. They also made the afternoon really fun, giving us time to play in the water inlets on the Island, helping us find the birds that nest on the Island and giving us interesting history of the area. This was our kids favorite activity on Oahu! We absolutely recommend them!!

You absolutely need to ask for Kana’i if you want a true Hawaiian experience. I cannot express enough how great he was a tour guide. He also has a lot of insight on where you should go eat and what things you should go see. Will recommend him to anyone and everyone!

This was our first time kayaking on the oceans and it was the most memorable experience we have had on the island so far! Goose was awesome! He was super knowledgeable about literally everything from the local mythology to the wildlife and ecology of the area. 10/10, would definitely go again!

We took the Twin Islands Kayak Tour and it was an amazing experience! Our guide (Fran) was fantastic - instructions were very clear, he was extremely knowledgeable about the local ecology and geology, and we had plenty of free time to snorkel and enjoy the beach on the island! Would definitely recommend having some kayaking experience before this trip, the swells and headwinds going out are no joke, but make for a very fun ride back ;)

One of our most memorable experiences on Oahu! We took the 2 hour tour. Riki was our guide and he had amazing positive energy the entire time, and was super knowledgeable on the sights, wildlife, history, and just kayaking tips in general. Lanikai and Kailua are gorgeous sites for kayaking, plus we were able to surf the kayaks at a beginner-friendly spot AND get some magical sea turtle sightings.Just a note - would recommend having at least one active/fit person per kayak - due to local restrictions you have to tow your kayak from the rental shop down to the beach unassisted.

Our guide was Will and he did a fantastic job! He was knowledgeable about the sea life and was able to teach us some interesting facts. A fun day paddling to the different islands. The trip was around 5 hrs but it flew by! I’ll definitely be doing it again!

Wonderful customer service, we did a double kayak for the whole day and it was a blast. The dry bags they have for rental work wonderful, we flipped our kayak twice and all our stuff stayed safe and dry. They walk you through where to go and how to get anywhere you would like to see. Absolutely recommend and will use again.

I took a five hour tour and had a blast! Ricki was our guide and he was super welcoming and energetic. Ricki knew a lot about the area too which added context to the incredible views. A heads up that this side of the island is known for being very windy. It’s definitely still doable to paddle in, but be prepared to paddle hard. Our guide kept the energy up on the way to the island when we were facing the wind and we had fun letting the wind push us back to shore coming back.

The best tour while I was on the island! No one can tell me that there is a better guide than Goose! He was so patient and made the trip truly one to remember! He knows so much about the history of the island. I will make sure everyone I know comes here and requests Goose!

Had an awesome doing the early morning 2 hour tour. Our guide Hopoe was amazing, very knowledgeable about the land and ocean ecosystems. She was especially knowledgeable about local culture and heritage, being a native Hawaiian herself. We all felt very safe with her at the lead. Overall super great experience and highly recommend!

BEAR 🐻! Our tour guide for the Twin Islands Guided Kayak Tour was Bear. He went above and beyond. Our kayaking experience wouldn’t have been the same without him. He helped us get on the kayak safely. We saw other people taking off on their own from Moku Nui capsize. The waters were choppy that day but we still had a great time. Definitely earned the included lunch.Bear was personable, shared his local knowledge, and was always looking out for our safety while both hiking and kayaking. You could tell he just wanted us to have fun. We’re so grateful he voluntarily took photos and videos of us with his own phone. We both forgot our cameras and are lucky we have epic shots to look back on. At the end, he even shared a list of his restaurant recommendations.Everybody at the shop is friendly. Appreciated the dry bag, lockers, and drink choices.

I chose to do a private Twin Islands tour due to my age and not wanting to slow anyone down. It was a great decision. Me and my Girlfriend did a 2 hour excursion kayak tour with Brian and Ian! We had a great time kayaking to the flat island and saw some cool turtles! They both were extremely helpful the whole experience and taught us some interesting Hawaiian culture and hiking spots! Really enjoyed how enthusiastic they were and how they did everything they can to make the most of the experience!

Tommy was our guide for the twin island kayak tour. He was extremely knowledgeable of the island ecosystems and animals inhabiting the island. He was very engaging with everyone on the tour and made sure everyone felt welcomed. During the tour he taught us a lot about Hawaiian culture and the importance of the islands as well as the beaches in the areas. He always kept a look out to make sure that everyone in the group stayed together, and would quickly redirect anyone who was going off course. Additionally, he was always checking the ever changing weather patterns that could affect our navigation. We never felt rushed and were extremely glad we booked the tour rather than winging it ourselves…we saw many kayakers who didn’t know how to navigate the waters to avoid reefs / strong currents. Tommy was an absolute pleasure to have as our tour guide, and took sick photos while we were kayaking. The entire time we felt safe, had lots of laughs and learned a lot. Not to mention Tommy gave us local food recommendations, which were amazing!! We would highly recommend this tour with Tommy!

Loved our guided kayaking tour out to Flat Island with Riki and Alan! It was so relaxing and energizing at the same time. We got to see nesting seabirds and some newly hatched chicks on the island. Loved having a chance to surf in the kayak for a bit before returning to shore, too. We didnt stick around for the aftenoon, but I appreciated that we had the option to use more of their gear for free if we had.

We originally booked the all inclusive tandem package, but realized we really only needed to rent only the kayak as the other items werent needed. They worked with us on adjusting our reservation. We kayaked for about an hour and a half in the ocean. Good company to rent from.

The Twin Islands guided kayak tour is a must for your trip to Oahu! Beautiful scenery, lots of good snorkeling (we saw a bunch of sea turtles), and a cool hike on a remote island.
