My husband took my 6 yrs old today for his first visit. He stated from the moment of checking in the front staff was so friendly, and they made him feel like family. He also loved the dr too. My son was so excited to show me his new Black Panther coloring book. We will definitely be back… :)

Dr Atkinson takes great care and has genuine concern for his patients. He goes above and beyond with answering questions and giving helpful suggestions in caring for the eyes. He and his staff are congenial and considerate. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone!

Dr. Atkinson, is hands down the best optometrist we have ever been to. He is incredibly thorough, asked questions no other eye doctor has ever asked, he diagnosed my child with a multi level issue that again, no one had ever mentioned. He walked us through picking out the proper lens protection she would need for school, computer etc. as well as frames to fit her and comfortable for all day use. He had extensive knowledge about what would be covered by our insurance and made the entire process so efficient and easy to understand.

Dr. Atkinson and his team are very professional and are always respectful and nice when my family has their eyes checked. Any issue I have ever had they have helped me with no questions asked and with a smile on their faces! I highly recommend this eye care team to anyone who’s searching for a new eye care doctor! Dr. Atkinson was very prompt in his diagnosis of my needs. That might not be some people’s cup of tea but it was kind of nice to just have a Dr. explain the problem and how they’re going to solve it without getting mixed up in other things. Such a welcoming practice from the minute I walked in I do prefer a private practice than a big box eye care center focused on my needs and what is the best for my treatment and budget that my insurance is very good instead of a procedure that wasnt necessary, but would follow through on my wishesof what I thought I wanted for vision correction thank you for your honesty instead of collecting on what I thought I needed. Nice to know not every Dr is all about making a profit .I found my new Dr. @ Atkinson Family Eye Car .

Dr Atkinson and his assistant are super friendly and helpful in everything you need. I considered going for contacts and decided for my own reasons that was not ok and they took the money I paid for a years supply of contacts and put it to a pair of glasses that had all the perks. I have been going to them for the last two years and expect to go there as long as I can unless I move far away!10/10 would recommend.

The lovely receptionist held my baby while teaching me how to put contacts in and was extremely nice to me the whole time I was struggling to put them on.

Dr. Atkinson was extremely thorough with my examination. He took more time with me than any doctor Ive ever visited. He was concerned not only with my vision, but also my overall well being. He has a remarkable office staff who are also caring and compassionate with his patients. I left his office feeling as if I was leaving an old friends house. I will be receiving new glasses in a week or two, and the cost was surprisingly low. I will be Dr. Atkinsons patient until he retires or I expire.

Individually, I did not feel as just a number to be processed.His professional skills have obviously been honed to a fine edge through 31 years of experience, combined with obvious intelligence, an inherent orientation toward precision (e.g., early study of engineering), and curiosity approaching that of a Sherlock Holmes clone. My experience reminded me somewhat, in retrospect, of TVs Hugh Laurie in House. Quite entertaining!Support staff are learned of their duties, and the office appears to work in harmony and practiced synchrony, with a down-home feel, (especially if you evoke it).John has been long been dedicated to our community at large and to humanitarian projects.. His practice deserves our support, and you deserve his individual focus.

I have been with Dr. Atkinson since I was about 11 yrs old and now I’m 26. Very helpful and I just love it here. I currently take my kids here too. The staff is nice and friendly as well. I’ve considered changing eye doctor that’s close to home many times but honestly the experiences I’ve had here I wouldn’t want to change that. The staff has been patient with me as well helping me try toFind the frames I want I’m kind of picky lol. I think I took like 30 min one time and every body in the office was trying to help me out. I love it here and wouldn’t change it one bite.

As always Dr. Atkinson and staff are personable and efficient. He has been taking care of my eyes for close to thirty years. I have moved over an hour away, but I still return here because I trust him.

Visited because Sams didnt have a doc on staff. Spent more than I planned. They want to do everything in-house so they can charge you more. They would not release my prescription or call me back. Finally, after it expired they used that as the reason not to call it in to Sams. Very disappointed.

Dr. Atkinson is amazing. I took my daughter to a different eye doctor who told me she had no vision issues and didnt need glasses. After my daughter continued to complain about having vision problems and headaches I took her to see Dr. Atkinson. Not only did he say she did need a small prescription but also found that she had an astigmatism. The other dr never even mentioned this. Dr. Atkinson truly cares about his patients and not only if they can see well, but their over all vision and eye health.

Unfortunately I just had my first experience last week and I felt like cattle being shuffled in. Appointment was over an hour and 15 minutes (mostly waiting) and Dr. shuffled between me and 4 other patients. I could hear the same scripted dialogue he gave me and those other patients because the office is small enough you can hear in other room. I have NEVER had a dr. come over to me with a cost sheet and try to sell me the Rolls Royce of glasses before even letting me see a pair.He also told me he would be right back to check on something and after 10 minutes I went to look for him. Mind you, I have a 4 year old with me whose ready to leave!!He was working with another patient and just left me sitting there. I finally asked if he wanted me to look at glasses while I waited and after 10 minutes of waiting, I finally asked for my prescription. He wouldn’t pick up a pen to write Prescription until I went out front to pay..... REALLY? Like He didn’t trust me to pay.Terrible bedside manor and will not be back. Go somewhere else, I am!UPDATE: I have something called narrow angles, which he did not see!Already seen another optometrist and specialist to confirm, which needs treatment with a laser (otherwise I could have vision loss).

Experience is everything, Dr Atkins is confident in what he does - my first visit, he was a step ahead on all my questions and very thorough
