I love this location, it’s always clean and organized. The checkout was fast and efficient. People offered to help multiple times, employees were smiling. Just overall a great shopping experience.

Did the curbside pickup for an online purchase and everything went smoothly. An employee was bringing out my purchase within 5 min and I was on my way. Definitely will be using curbside pickup again.

I like this location. I did buy a really nice cooler here not too long ago and there was a part broken off of it that could have only been done by staff and unfortunately they have been completely wiped out of this specific cooler... so I have to drop a star. But this location is always clean and the staff is helpful.Great place to get your fishing license and gear!

Picked up a 10 ft. X 10 ft. canopy after buying a lesser quality canopy from Amazon. It weighed 2.5 x the other and cost the same. It was much easier to set up as well. I am glad I returned the light weight and got the heavy duty canopy.

Mike provided great customer service. He didnt rush me and allowed me to ask several questions regarding my purchase. He also gave me a few suggestions which encouraged me to actually act on instead of procrastinating.

I will never purchase anything else at this store. The staff at the hunting counter is the rudest I have ever dealt with. It is obvious they hate their job and dont want to be there. But their disdain for the customers and their condescending attitude is ridiculous. Its as if Im bothering them by making a purchase. Sadly, the supervisor sees their employee being lazy and rude and does nothing to correct him. Im not spending my money where I cant get basic customer service.

Everything was good. Besides the fact that I got overcharged for my ammunition. I was charged an extra 10 dollars for no reason.

I usually have a no complaints about this academy besides waiting in line, but last night was my worst experience here. Went in to purchase a hand gun and waited 15 min for a couple to finish looking at guns and asking questions. Which is not a problem. The problem was after they left, the store associate leaned on the counter 2 feet from me and proceeded to play on his phone. Didn’t ask if I wanted to see anything, had questions or wanted to purchase a firearm. He was very quick to make his way to the other end of the counter to help another customer who had just walked up to the counter. This is the second time this has happened. It’s safe to say I purchase a product from this academy 1-3 times a week. Everything in my closet and thousands in fishing equipment, sonar, ammo, firearms and more have been purchased here. It’s also safe to say I may be taking my business elsewhere.

Employees are always so helpful. Store is very clean and easy to find things.

This is one of the better Academy locations, easy on and off access from the highway. Staff at the door always greets you at the door. Selection is usually the best in town at this location. Check out staff is fast and efficient.

Store associates does not know the difference between membership card and credit card. They asked me to enroll for free membership and applied for credit card without giving any information. They had no clue how to cancel the application and gave me few toll free numbers but couldn’t reach customer support until the credit card was approved, and customer support representatives were not patient to help. Finally I had to cancel the credit card which ruined my credit score. Very bad experience! Same days i had to wait 15min to get assistance on sun glasses purchase. Terrible Customer Service!

Need more items restocked. Seemed like management waits too long to order replacement or restocking. It seems like they spend more time out of products than in-stock. Losing revenue is tough especially when were in the middle of this pandemic debacle.

Customer service was very helpful with my order. Ordered online and picked up then realized I got the wrong size. The exchange was very easy. Never even had to pull out my card.

NEVER EVER EVER make an online order with this store or any other Academy Sports + Outdoors!! Youve been warned.I made an online order using my debit card and a gift card. Transaction made and fully charged. About a week and a half later, I was charged for half of it again. It was left pending for half a week and went away. I was late on a different bill because of it. Today, I was charged yet again. Im gonna be late on another different bill I cant cancel (can cancel only 5 days ahead and its tomorrow).I called customer service....what a joke! I explained what happened step by step. She got in contact with accounting and they said I still owed. She spoke as if she had taken their side. I hate to say that I lost my cool. She didnt listen from the beginning. I was told to call tomorrow because there is nothing she could do but escalate (IF she even does that).What a headache!! I should have just ordered from Amazon. FYI, I live in a small town about 250 miles away where there are limited resources.

I love academy! They are always super busy at this location! I went for a fishing knife and fishing tackle ...and the sales they had going on for fathers day were awesome!

Finding what you need is easy, but checking out in an reasonable amount of time doesnt happen. I waited in line for 20 minutes because the cashier took forever to ring up the person in front of me. She was buying a soda and a snack.

Associate went out of her way to assist me with work shoes. Had the size in stock but only one pair I need. She found the pair for me that wasnt on the shelf! Made my weekend. Did not have to drive around searching for work shoes.

I purchased a stalker 380 crossbow from academy in Katy TX pulled it out the box got ready and when I went to place my arrow in I noticed that it was strung wrong. I called to see if they had another one to take this one back for one that works and was told that they will not take it back or fix it. What kind of store sales products like this thats clearly not right and then tell you its all your problem. What a company

They cant figure out how to contact a customer, much less try to resolve the problem with shipping after 2+ weeks of waiting! Nothing! I had to buy another pair of boots ($150+) for the wedding I officiated thanks to Academy dragging their feet and not even contacting me. So disappointed by your company. I want my money back. I will never shop with your company, nor will my family.

Academy Sport + Outdoors is a very wonderful store that has clothes, shoes and other things you need.

Ordered an item online July 3rd. Called today waited over an hour to talk to someone. Just for them to tell me they can’t help me item is sold out not our fault even though we took your money.

They have redone their store! The layout is much better placed. Shelves seem better stocked and organized. We were very pleased compared to when we went about 6 months ago.

Love this store! One of the few places in Houston that has rifle ammo in stock and they limit customers to 2 boxes per day (thank you!) so that somebody does not come in and buy them out, which happens frequently these days at other stores. They are always friendly and have just about everything.

I much rather prefer going to this Academy over any in Houston. Staff has a great attitude, everyone is super helpful, they have a great inventory, and store is kept very clean.

Don’t do a curbside pickup unless you want to be stuck waiting for 20 plus minutes. It’s ridiculous...should of chosen delivery. They don’t answer the phone either...had to try multiple departments to just get placed on hold.

Bought some sunglasses, it didnt have a price but girl behind the counter was very helpful....she was busy, but for the first time like most, she didnt seem irritated that I interrupted her work...even the check out lady Zayra, I think, had a good attitude...last few trips to Academy it seemed like I was putting them out by wanting to check out...

The only reason Im giving 2 stars is because I like Academy. I just don’t like the fact that your ammo counter is bare empty and you have to ask the attendant for ammo if you have it or not. Other Academy locations keep it on the shelf with a limit sign, so I am in and out. Every time I’ve come in I have to wait for someone to assist me which takes a while sometimes, and I’m nog mad about that just seems unnecessary since yall can just go back to putting it on the shelf again. It’s not gold or silver it’s just ammo cmon. Other than that I have no complaints. I just go to a different Academy even though this is the closest location to my house which is really sad.

Their prices were higher then Walmart for what I bought to go crab fishing.

I have been going to this Academy for at least 20 years and have never experienced unsatisfactory service or an inventory shortage on any seasonal sporting goods (aside from the recent bullet shortage).

The lady at the customer service is very very rude.Store gets bad name because of employees like this.

Ive been buying smoking wood for my pits for many years. I went to this location and couldnt find any. So I asked a employee where it was. She acted like she had no clue what I was asking about. So I found another employee and got the same reaction. I looked all around the store but never found the large bags of wood. I had to settle for two of the small bags. I got to the check stand and thought I would give it one more try. The cashier responded with it should be by the grills. Not a good visit to this location today.

Worst firearm department.bought many guns from here but never happy specially the last time.If buying something from Academy Sports, better to know what exactly will be included & check it before even transferring it to your name.Really bad customer service in this specific store. Once you buy & if you have any issue or concern, they will ask you to deal direct with the manufacturer & they dont even want to be forward to give you any service. Will not even ask your information so they can check something for you. for them, customer is the one who is buying a firearm not the one who is returning with any missing item.Will not buy any more firearm from this branch of Academy Sports & will never recommend anyone to this store.

This is the best academy outlet by far. My sons bicycle broke. They gave us a new one. The whole process was very fast and efficient. Took less than 20 minutes. There was an old chappie named Henry in the bicycle section. He understood the needs of my son, guided us as to the best suitable model and even assisted in the returns process. Chappie is a star
