Went in for a diagnostic of the front end to make sure nothing needed my attention before winter hit. They were very Professional and quick. They made sure I knew what was going on with my car. I will definitely use them for future vehicle repairs.

I had difficulty finding a place that was open to do emissions on a Friday. I stopped in, asked if they were doing emissions, and was told I could pull up to one of the garages. I was in and out in 5 minutes, the staff was very professional and courteous.

Could not find a place that was able to complete emissions testing. Most places on the WIVIP site for emissions are. Not Merlins! Walked in and they were able to take care of me right away! Professional gents.

I see they dont enforce mask usage here. In the past they did excellent car work. Now I have to schedule even a quick oil change a week in advance. The last couple of times I had work done here I needed something else repaired a couple days later...fishy.

No problems smooth transaction. One guy on the phone was a bit harsh.But got the job done in a few hours and my car was ready!

Very prompt however 1/3 of the techs that dealt with my transaction was very curt especially when I was in the phone with the owner of the vehicle getting tested and whom I had to ask the questions the tech asked me. Also some undertones of disdain, likely due to my mask wearing - see previous posts be other reviewers. I cant fault the promptness and fulfilling the needs of my car but as a nurse I was very surprised that the entire staff of Merlin must suffer from very serious pulmonary or psychological conditions. Must be work related if all the staff cannot protect each other and customers by wearing masks. The sign on the door states they are not requiring masks of those that have serious medical conditions and will assume those not wearing masks are due to their conditions. Im concerned for all those sick workers and will have to call a OSHA and the Labor Relations Board to look into what must be horrible conditions that all their employees are so unhealthy. I have pretty serious asthma and have no issue wearing my mask for 8-12 hours as a nurse. Unless you have some serious end of life COPD or Psychological issues, please wear your mask for your customers at least. Otherwise I may question the trustworthiness and honesty of the staff at lying about health conditions. What else will they lie about? Signal fluid? Headlight oil?

Great customer service with fair pricing. Always willing to explain and show whats wrong with your vehicle. Always friendly, but busy so its best to be able to drop off vehicle and pick up later. Overall, a good experience without the haggle.

We absolutely love Merlins. The warranty they do on their work is true and we couldnt be more grateful that they are such and honest company. Numerous times they could of pulled the wool over our eyes and they never have. They will admit when a part went bad or a mistake was made and fix it at no charge and because of all these reasons we will forever use Merlins as our only auto shop.

Merlins was neat & clean; staff friendly & attentive. My 2 star rating was due to the fact that I went there for emissions testing. The wait time was 3+ hours. They said I could leave my name & phone number & they would call me when my turn came up (I live 6 minutes away). I never recieved a call.

I was very upset this time with the corporation.. they are nice but I guess not nice enough to refund my part money. They misdiagnosed my vehicle, replaced a part that didn’t need replaced, after having my vehicle for almost two weeks then said because they put the new part in they can’t refund me for the part money.. I am not usually one to call out a company, but I am livid right now. When I walked into Merlin on 75th Street in Kenosha to inquire about an emissions test (which is something the state requires), I noticed that they had a sign posted on the door about Gov. Evers requiring masks. The two other customers in the waiting room and I had masks on, but none of the employees did, in particular the two individuals dealing with the public. I wasnt able to get my car tested, but I tried again about a half hour later (because the other place I tried isnt doing emissions testing any more). Same story. Two different customers and I had our masks on, but the employees at Merlin did not. I left and then called back to talk to the owner of the franchise (Mike), who informed me that he does not make his employees wear masks (something to do with the constitution) and told me I could go somewhere else. If I recall, the city of Kenosha has a mask mandate for businesses. If they are located in the Kenosha city limits, they need to have their masks on! On a positive note, I contacted 1 Stop Auto (4720 22nd Avenue) in Kenosha, made an appointment, and asked if they wear masks there. The owner Johnny informed me emphatically that they all wear masks there. I know who will be getting my business from now on!

Simply came here for a Emission Test, and found out I could renew my tags for a nominal up charge. For the convenience, totally worth it! Will be taking my other vehicle here next month to get the same thing done!

They always have done good work for me at reasonable prices.

Ive always had good luck with this place. Had exhaust work, brakes and oil changes and its always been a pleasant experience. They even fixed my plastic splash shield which had cracked in half and was almost dragging along the roadway. I didnt want to buy a new piece, so they stitched it up (with my permission) and its nice and clear under the car again. Highly recommended!

Merlin is not requiring any customers or staff to wear masks. This means an unmasked technician may enter your vehicle. This is wildly unsafe. They seem to take pride in not taking basic precautions during a pandemic. If you value your familys health, find an alternative service provider.

I went to have an emissions test done and informed I could leave my vehicle there and it would be done by the close of business???? For something that takes less than 10 minutes to do.

Great Service and honest most of all

I used to take my car to Sears Auto for all of my automotive needs. However, now that Sears Auto no longer exists, Ive had to find somewhere else to go for servicing. After doing some research, I settled on Merlins. They get solid reviews online and consistently average 4 out of 5 stars.They must be doing something right because after my extremely positive experience there for minor repair work, I wont be taking my vehicle anywhere else but Merlins. My mom was so impressed that shes going to start using Merlins as well.

Their customer service is excellent. Service is prompt, thorough and fair. I highly recommend this Merlin location for all your vehicle repair needs.

Will never return after being a customer for 7 or so years. The owner left my wife stranded with a half fixed car in the middle of the parking lot after paying $400....he refused to help get the car back to our home literally across the highway and left my wife outside alone in the middle of parking lot for a half hour while the car he just said was running and ready to be picked up wouldn’t start.....until she had to go to the shop area and tell the workers she needed their help because the owner Mike wouldn’t help her. So they workers stopped and pushed my car off to a side road where it sat for days...He said he didn’t have a big enough diagnostic system to see what was wrong with our car, so he fixed half the problem and sent us on our way without a bit of help. Firestone fixed it, the service manager Dan was amazing. Firestone said it was difficult to figure out the problem but he checked a few options and after a few days of trying out parts he figured out what it was and had it ready a couple hours later...sorry Merlin you were close to home too, bummer Mike, maybe you shouldn’t have left any customer let alone a regular customer on such a bad note.

Got my emission test done here. Quick and easy.

I recommended Merlins to my son because I had good experiences there, though it was only for oil change/tires.His dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree after a hard stop. The initial diagnosis showed multiple failures; so many that they needed to reschedule to allow for a more extensive evaluation. Uh oh. After a couple hours they called back with the results. Blown fuse. Thats it. The open circuit prevented the sensor data from reaching the computer, indicating multiple system failures. Bottom line; $25 for their trouble.Unless you know someone, choosing an auto mechanic is a difficult decision. Who can you trust? Will the work be done right? Will I be fairly charged? They could have billed hundreds of dollars, and he would have been happy that he got his car back. But they didnt.Highly recommend. 10/10 for service, professionalism and integrity.

I have been a customer of this Merlins for 7 years now, they are knowledgeable, friendly and always reliable.

I keep returning to Merlin for service on my car because I trust and value the work and opinions of the personnel here. They are pleasant, fast and efficient. Being a female, they do not make me feel as though I am not knowledgeable or understanding of what needs to be done. They are very fast and thorough.

They dont do the your car in the order it appears. Dont ever tell them you are going to leave the car with them and wait for their call. They will service people who are waiting in shop first. Multiple times I have done what I did today: show up at 8am leave it and with them telling me 1-2 hours and at two pm calling them to check only to tell me there is one car ahead if me. Their model appears to me is to tell customers anything to get them in the door and wait until they show impatience and then servicing it. Reservations mean nothing. You have to keep calling them so that then they will service. If no calls, they will service others first who are waiting in lobby even after you tell them you need it as soon as possible. This is my opinion living only a few miles away but now refusing to go there after realizing their game. Reservations mean zilch. You have to be willing to do there for hours so that they will service you ahead of others. I go to other places where they will service you based on order of appearance.

I had an exhaust leak, the investigated and found I needed a new exhauster manifold and that both of my engine mounts were shot. The called around and found the best prices for the parts and kept all the parts and labor reasonably priced. I had the car back by the end of the day. Good service, good prices and good people. I will use them again.

What an amazing store! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was in kenosha visiting family when I noticed the back end of my car making some rattling noise. We brought it to the shop at 4:30 to get looked at and within a half hour they called us to let us know the problem and the cost. 6pm we picked up the vehicle! Great service.

Couldnt get better service than this. Honest,hard working, nice staff. The only draw back is theyre so great its always so busy and, unless you have an appointment, youll be waiting over an hour just for an oil change.

Front wheel bearing failed within the parts warranty period. Part was replaced without any questions and in accordance with the Merlin warranty policy. The Kenosha business location has always been pleasant to work with and they always check your car for any other possible issues, If issues are found they explain them thoroughly but never pressure you to have them repaired. If there are safety issues they emphasize the issue. Good place to auto service needs

The other day we had a tire go flat on our truck while pulling a horse trailer. The team at Merlin 200000 on 75th was AMAZING. They were able to help us out and get us back on our way quickly to complete a long journey home. They were honest, efficient, and friendly. The help they gave was truly appreciated for a rather bad week! I would recommend this shop to anyone and would go back in a heartbeat if we did not live 100 miles away!

I told them I just purchased a vehicle for my son and granted its 2005 Nissan in tough shape, so I bought it in to Merlin’s in Kenosha to get a idea what I was looking at and paid for the full service oil change thinking they would give me a run down of what it needed. After they did the work the owner of the shop dropped off the paperwork with the gal at the counter and did not tell me anything but return to the shop to chat with the mechanics. The gal at the counter was a bit confused why he didn’t share with me what was wrong with the car and apologized that he didn’t share with me about the concerns they found and that he was the owner of the shop and it was very unusual for him to not say anything. I won’t be bringing any of my six cars back and I will pass the word that this owner really doesn’t care about his customers or business, sad to see a failing business in the area

Nice people but didn’t like the price

I had a rattle develop under my car. They got me in within 20 minutes. Turns out it was a heat shield that was rusted through. It couldnt be fixed, but they removed it for me at no charge. Sonya was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I told her that I will continue to be a customer in the future.

I scheduled a brake fluid flush, dropped the car off and waited all morning for completion. Finally they call and say that the machine has been broken, something they failed to make clear to me when I booked the service. Shame on them. I scheduled the same service three weeks later assuming that it was fixed when they accepted my appointment. When I get there they inform me the machine is still not fixed. Shame on me for assuming such a silly thing that they would know what services they are and are not able to provide. I dont mind that its broken but please done make me waste my time two different times.
