We made a spontaneous stop to look at scooters for our son. We were unsure whether to repair his current or buy new. The guys at this shop were so helpful and full of great information. They helped us make a great choice.

After not riding my bike for over a year, my tire was flat. I tried to use my hand pump, but it looked like I needed a new tube. I walked my bike to Southport bikes and there were 3 young guys working. One of them took my bike immediately and put it on the rack as I was telling him the problem. He pumped it up and said the inner tube was fine. He adjusted my squeaky brakes and adjusted some bead on my front tire. When he was finished I asked him what the charge was and he said nothing. I told him I had to give him something, and he said You can put a dollar in the tip jar if you want. Of course I purt more than that in there..but what awesome service from this sweet guy! I will definitely go back!

I purchased 3 new bikes over the last 3 years along with many accessories, had one of my older bikes in for tune up and always received excellent customer service. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. My son loves his new mountain bike. Thank you Southport

Needed a brake adjustment for my nephews mountain bike and they said if it was less than a 15 minute job it would be taken care of right away, which it was and they were true to their word! Nice people and will definitely be going back for any bicycling needs. Also they have an awesome skate shop.

I had shifters repaired recently and while they did the job their communication was awful. They couldnt provide an estimate without bringing the bike in. I brought the bike in and they still couldnt provide and estimate and told me I would need to bring it back when they had space. Had I known I just needed so get a repair ticket I would had done that sooner.Then I dropped the bike off and was really clear at drop off I needed it back a little over 2 weeks later for a trip with my kid. I was told that wouldnt be a problem.A week later, Monday I got a message telling me they were working on the bike and asked if I wanted the wheel adjusted. No big deal and said yes.Called the next day to see if it was ready and they told me by the end of the day. Never received a call.I called the next day and the bike wasnt ready. I was informed the tech was on vacation and wouldnt be back until after my deadline. I told them this and they promised end of the day.I called back about an hour before close and was told it wasnt done and they would be closed the next day and I should be able to pick it up hours before my trip. At this point I simply dont belive them and inform them I will take the bike 15 minutes before close that day in whatever state it is in.Fortunately it was done and ready but the whole turned me off from using Southport again. This could have been a good experience if there was just honest communication from day 1.

Excellent service. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable! They do not rush you and will help in finding a product to meet your needs regardless of your level of expertise coming in.

We broke a spoke on our bike tour to Milwaukee. They repaired it in 5 minutes for a fair price.

Needed my bike tuned up quick before a race and they got me in right away, took 15 minutes and did a great job!!

I came in to pre-order a special edition SE bike and they told me I was the first one to be on the waiting list so I gave them my name and number. I checked back a couple times to see if it had come in and I was told not to keep checking in, they would be sure to call me. I went in today since I found out these bikes were just shipped out from the manufacturer a few days ago and they said they got the bikes, but they already sold them. No call, no hold, and no apology. Ill never buy a bike from here and I do not recommend this shop at all.

Local Shop Doing the Best They Can.I have had great response from Southport with all of my equipment requirements. Disappointed about the bad reviews. They are local and that is extremely valuable. Reviewers: Dont limit my choices by having extremely high expectations and lack the ability to chill. COVID has changed everything.

The absolute WORST bike shop I have ever dealt with. Ralph cant lace spokes and after 2 months and 2 ruined rims Ill go to a professional.

I was so pleasantly surprised & impressed today with this bike shop, I bought my bike from them about 12 years ago and just assumed as old as it is, it probably need a full tune up, so loaded into my SUV and headed over, they said theyd check a few things and if it needed a tune up might take a while, theyre busier than usual because of the pandemic, the aired up my tires, checked if it needed lube and said I didnt need a tune up, I was so grateful but also realized a should really protect my head so I bought an awesome bike helmet (never owned one before but really should, just in case) just super nice guys, I will always be back to this awesome place with my Root Beer Float colored bike :-)

I have been waiting over a week for “The Duet”! This is an 11,000.00 dollar bike, which our State paid for, in advance. First, it was supposed to be here last week, Tuesday. Got a call Wednesday that the seat was broken, it would be here Friday or Saturday. So, Friday went by and I didn’t get a call. Saturday I’m waiting until around 12:45, I called, oh they didn’t notice until they were putting it together that the foot rest was messed up, so they had to Jerry rig it, but unfortunately they’re short staffed one person, so they don’t know if they’ll be able to get it to me, today. I’ll call you back in a half an hour he said, of course no call back. I’m still waiting on a call for the time it will be delivered, and I will not be paying the delivery fee. I’ll be calling the bike company Monday to let them know how disappointed I am in their product. This is not a very ethical company at this point!!!

Walked in the store looking at a $1600 Fuji bike. Took awhile but an older Gentlemen asked if he could help. I said Im looking at these bikes on top rack. He responded that they were all bikes in for service. I said the 3 in a row have for sale signs on them and he said oh yeah. I asked what gearset was on the Fuji bike. He responded I would have to take one down to see...he seemed put out. He then gave me the wrong info so I left the store. Not a welcoming experience.

I’m from Canada. This shop was one of the only ones that had the trigger gloves I wanted. Purchased the gloves and they shipped to Alberta. Funny thing was the security tags were still on them 😂. So I contacted the company and Ralph took excellent care to manage the return process for me. He was even willing to repay the shipping! The service was excellent and flexible to my needs. They have excellent products and I would buy from them again any day!

Still in their parking lot as I do this review. Called yesterday inquiring on the availability, pricing and ETA for replacing tires on my bike. Was told same day if I arrived around 10 a.m.which I did and upon getting here was told not the price for my size tires but I told him yesterday and again this morning my tire size. He then told me the tire that I was quoted is not in stock so I asked how long would they take to come in if they ordered them and he replied that they were out of stock which how would he know since he hadnt bothered to make a call or check. At the exact moment the guy working on another bike behind him bumps into my bike knocking it over. Needless to say I will now be visiting the cycle shop downtown which is 4 blocks from my house and also was up front and honest with me during our phone call. I will never come here again. Even if during our rides which we ride past here often also and my bike were to break down I wouldnt coast it here. Its really a principle thing for me along with integrity and morals Now you have been warned that you can do better than here.

I purchased a new Trek mountain bike from The bike shop and within a month the front forks broke throwing me over the handlebars. I went to the bike shop, they were polite and within a week I had my bike back with new forks and no hassle. Great business, great service and Im glad to be a customer.

I keep coming back to this place, and its always been a great experience. They try very hard to keep their products affordable and wont upsell. Ive bought a couple of bikes, tons of accessories, and now a skateboard, and every purchase has been easy and surprisingly competitively priced.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! They sold my daughter a womens bicycle however it had a seat made for men; this is very different due to the pelvis. It was purchased at the end of the summer for the following year. It was not until a bike rally that summer that someone who knew about bikes told my daughter. She could not trade it in even though it was brand new. These people will not negotiate about anything!! My advice to you is to go downtown Kenosha to Ski & Sports Chalet. They have wonderful salesmen who know about bicycles, they will deal with you to have your business. They do an excellent tuneup.

Great customer service. Was in a bind, forgot binding disc and screws at home for my snowboard and they took the time to go through their stock of discs and found a set that worked and gave me the tools to fix it.

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff at southport rigging. I took a couple windsurf lessons through the store and got hooked. When I began to research purchasing my own equipment I found I needed some assistance. Ralph, Bret and company have been friendly and helpful, in helping getting me geared up from boards, sails, and booms, to gloves, and wetsuits, and a car-rack. I could have bought some of this stuff else-where, but it wouldnt have saved me any money or time. The store is very comprehensive regardless of your size - Im large and sometimes hard to fit but had no trouble finding a perfect fit wetsuit. I ended up buying most or all of my windsurfing gear from southport partly because I like to support local business, especially when they do a great job helping their customers, but mostly because there really offer outstanding service. The prices are as good as you can find anywhere be it brick-and-mortar or online, and they wont try to sell you things you dont need or things above your budget......I was surprised to see the single review that complained about poor service. Is it possible this person was at a different store? Everyone else seems happy.

The owner is very rude. Will not go back to this bike shop ever again. He did not have good coustomer service skills and refused to sell a bike for the price on the ticket which was made out by him. If you make a mistake you need to deal with it not say oh well.

I Stop in pretty often these days, though a few years back the service was less than stellar, the term Bike Snob comes to mind. I had stopped goin there for about 2 years as I had my fill of the attitude. In the last year though I believe they got a few new workers on the bike side who are much less snobby. I find myself going there just to look and chat. Very helpful very friendly keep it up.

Not very good customer service at the Bike Shop! I found the person who took care of me (glasses, beard, tats on his calves) to NOT be very customer service oriented. The dude was arrogant and condescending... If you dont like to deal with the public then you shouldnt be in this business dealing with the customer. Perhaps the dude should be leashed in the back room wrenching on bikes and not working with the customer. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere!

It is not very complete in windsurfing, but there is not much in the area, the best is the excellent attention of its owner and get what you want.
