I ordered 11 Metal Sales panels for a patio cover this summer through Lowe’s. Since the bottom was going to be exposed I expected the bottom to be free of defects. They ship the panels with ample protection on the top but provide no protection on the bottom so that the bottom panels were completely scratched and bent. Over 3 months I received 2 delivery attempts to remedy the situation with replacements that were in worse shape than the original. I finally gave up and installed a completely scratched panel on my new patio cover that I spent thousands on. I guess it gives me a story to tell at my BBQ’s. I had requested touch up paint that I never received so I guess I will need to find matching spray paint next spring.The panels are great if you can get them undamaged. I suggest that if you do buy from them, make sure you buy an extra throw away panel knowing that the one on the bottom will not be usable.Really a frustrating and disappointing experience.

Metal Sales are the best. They are a great team. They keep their machines tuned to specifications so that the panels are consistent.

I have ordered numerous metal panels through Lowes manufactured by MS Metal sales in Kent Washington. Other than the occasional damaged sheets, I have never had an issue. I am a 25 year construction veteran contractor specializing in garages and sheds. Unfortunately, my last 3 loads have been nothing but a struggle. A dent through the whole stack 3 loads ago that took a couple weeks to replace. MS blamed Lowes. Lowes blamed MS. But the dent was pushed up from the bottom. Dent was directly over a sticker where the banding was. So obviously done at the factory imo. But Lowes footed the cost and got me replacement metal so I was happy but my customer had to wait an extra two weeks. Now the last two loads, both for the same building, have come with width issues. Outside rib to outside rib on some pro panel varies 5/8 on every shingle sheet. On both loads. Second was replacement for the first. MS claims both times, its not them. They left their factory cut just fine. Its not a cut issue. Idk exactly how this happens, especially twice in a row. But I assume its mishandling the material at the factory. I dont see any way, once the sheets are banded on stickers, that they can get out of whack like that. Also not sure its even possible to come through the machine like that. But the sheets are less than 5 long. 5/8 of variance top to bottom in every single sheet builds a nice fan, but doesnt work on a straight roof. Banded tighter on one end squishing the material maybe? I really have no clue. Customer is getting impatient though and I dont blame him. Bottom line, you cant depend on MS if you want to keep your customers happy. I wont ever again. Pay a little more elsewhere to ensure satisfaction because you wont get it here. If something is messed up and needs to be replaced, it should be priority to get it done. Not pushed to the end of the list. I cant do that to my customers.
