Authentic Cuban coffee served by lovely people in a lovely town. A lot of flavor and great prices compared to similar restaurants. The skirt steak was phenomenal, I couldnt believe how much flavor was on my plate. Rice and beans cooked to perfection, and the women working the restaurant are some of the sweetest people we have encountered in Key West.
I would post a photo of our food but its in my stomach!! It felt like taking a trip to Cuba; even tho weve never been. The food was fantastic; Cuban mojo pulled pork and the beef empanada were what they recommended..and it was delicious. highly recommend! Just know its a small mom and pop place and doesnt have AC; but the food is worth it.
Do yourself a favor and eat here. It is a small place with a few chairs along the wall to eat at a tiny wall table- but who cares about that when you have amazing food. Get it. Eat it in your room. Sit on the sidewalk. Do whatever floats your boat but go here! Sadly we ate here the morning we left and I am depressed I cannot enjoy it again anytime soon!We ate breakfast at another location because it was hot and we wanted to sit inside at a table to eat. Big mistake. We waited almost an hour to be seated and even though the other restaurant had great reviews, it was mediocre. Nothing blew me away. We should have sat on the ground, sweating and enjoying our food froM here- we would have been so much happier.Okay- Ill stop trying to convince you to try this place and get on with my review. I walked here after placing an online order. I then got my order and took it back to our room. I ordered the BEST THING ON THE MENU- the HOMEMADE chorizo breakfast burrito. GET THIS. My husband got the avocado toast and loved it. My son got the bacon egg and cheese sandwich and loved it also.My burrito and the avocado toast came with a green salsa (salsa verde). It was amazing and I wish I had more of it. Get more of it! It is not spicy but adds so much flavor. You can tell this food is made fresh and with heart.I ordered the cantaloupe/orange juice combo and it was so tasty. My son and I dont like plain orange juice- but we both loved this. My husband had a cafe con leche (milk espresso) and I got an iced espresso (with cream and sugar). The lady that owns the place was taking orders and making the coffees. She was so nice and accommodating with everyone she served. I can tell she puts her heart into her work daily. If I lived here- they would know my name. Highly recommend you give this place a go- even if you have to eat on the fly- its worth it!
Carolina makes some super delish coffee and food as well. I got hooked on the Cortodito and had one or two almost every morning during our visit. Seriously some of the nicest folks ever, they take good care of their customers and are always friendly and hospitable. Their sandwiches are made on fresh Cuban bread delivered every morning. We will definitely be going back on our next visit.Urban CowgillMay 2021
Can I give higher than 5 stars?? Absolutely in love with this place! The owner is a sweet and wonderful woman. She remembered me after just one visit! I come here all the time for awesome coffee and amazing food. Try the chorizo breakfast burrito and the guava & cheese empanada! The women that work here are so personable and kind. This is a very special experience to have.
The food is absolutely incredible - Im still thinking about their sandwiches days later! And though the shop is small inside, the environment is incredibly charming, and the folks running it are absolutely wonderful!! Im not big on coffee myself, but everyone I was with in Key West wanted to go for more every day we were in town! They close a little on the early side, so get there sooner to make sure you get what you need! All around wonderful experience!
This may be a little place but it has big flavor! I highly recommend the empanadas, sweet plantains and the Arepas! The MOJO pork is also amazing! You wont be disappointed!
TLDR: This is a MUST visit!!We came here for lunch after diving and it was such a great choice! The restaurant has many great cuban options. I had the vegetarian burrito which was amazing. They have several vegetarian/vegan options. The tostones were so good. Their green salsa was very flavorful without being too spicy. Their cuban coffee hit the spot. They also have guava empanadas! The staff was very nice and attentive. They have limited seating inside but so worth the visit! I cant recommend enough! Thank you so much!
We liked the food so much that we had to come back twice to try more items! Super sweet staff, very generous portions, and delicious dishes. We tried the island bowl, the Cuban breakfast sandwich, the burrito, and the empanada. The guava and cheese empanada was something special. Don’t miss out on this awesome spot!
Incredible food and con leches! Everything I have ordered is always delicious. And, the ladies working here are so welcoming and nice. Thank you for being the best!
This is the best place for food! EVER! We loved everything we had! Service was amazing! These ladies love what they do and it shows! They serve you like family...Delisioso is an understatement!
Best place Ive ever visited. Wonderful, kind people, delicious breakfast and lunch, and the best coffee Ive ever had! I took time to go there every day during my trip- trust me, its worth it!
Love this place! Nice little humble piece of Miami. If your traveling from the Miami area and looking for a bit of home, especially for breakfast, this is the place! Cuban toast with some croquetas and a colada, best way to start the day!
This might not be a fancy place. It is really just a little hole in the wall but it is INCREDIBLE! The chorizo breakfast burrito is out of this world! The ladies that work there are also very sweet and happy!
Chorizo breakfast burrito and empanadas were very good, a lovely filling breakfast for a day of kayaking and scuba diving. Smoothies were good and inexpensive compared to most of key west. Im not a coffee drinker but my friends tell me the coffee was excellent. We will be heading back multiple mornings on our trip. Caroline and the rest of the crew are very kind and the food and drinks come out very quickly even when they are busy. Everything comes out fresh and piping hot.
Small place with huge flavor. Great coffee and delicious food. Just wonderful
We love this place!!!!! Some of the best coffee, food, and people you will ever meet. We stop in every time we are in Key West. Thank you all for what you do.Scott & Suzanne
Very small place with a very large menu. The place may sit 12 people. I had a breakfast burrito and it was delicious. The key lime pie was very good as well.
This place is great! All food is freshly prepared with love.
Great coffee. Outstanding food. The woman working the register was as sweet as they come. Always great to start the day with someone addressing you as mi amor! Their chimichurri is outstanding!
Had a wonderful cafe con leche and the proprietor called me sweetie. Perfect morning, pretty building. Look for the bongo drums.
What’s not to love? All the staff is sweet, especially the owner. The quality is excellent. Highly recommend for coffee and a delicious quick meal.
We were vacationing just a block down the street, stumbled across this cute hole-in-the-wall, had a Cuban mix sandwich that was delish! Others in our group had other items, all really good. I’m now 915 miles away and so wish I had gone back to try other items.
The friendliest atmosphere I have been and very good food. I am glad I stopped by and wish I had done so more.
Coffee is absolutely amazing!! Coming from Seattle, where coffee is life. This place delivers and goes over expectations! The Owner is so sweet and even takes the time to care about her customers. Even with a full house she came outside and delivered our food to us!
Fantastic food! The owner and her staff are awesome. You will love any items on their menu...my favorite being the homemade Chorizo sausage breakfast burrito.I cant stress enough how great the food is at the Key West Cuban Coffee. the coffee is great....but the food is absolutely outstanding!
Hands down the best coffee place in Key West with the kindest owner I have ever met. Her coffee shop is always extremely busy but she doesnt stop being positive and kind! Amazing service! Nicest and sweetest lady here. No wonder she got citizen of the day award.Cheers
If youre having a bad day, stop by the Key West Cuban Coffee and let these ladies put a smile on your face! They are so wonderful and the coffee & food is awesome, too.
Stopped by for breakfast and had a great experience!Excellent service and delicious food! Ordered the café con leche and a ham croqueta sandwich and will definitely be returning. The staff greeted everyone very warmly and service was very quick and friendly. Hidden spot in Key West that definitely competes with some of the bigger spots!
I loved everything about this little place! The women that run it are fantastic! The food is fabulous as well! Definetly a warm friendly place to visit on vacation.
I ordered at 12:47 and I didnt receive my order until 2:15.The ice coffee was warm. And my order was completely wrong. What I got was cold. Never again will I order from this place.
This place is a true gem. With so many great food options around we went to this place the most. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything on the menu looks mouth watering. Price vs portion is very reasonable. Staff was nice and inviting. Truly recommend on including this spot in your gastronomic itinerary!
Wow. Especially bad drinks. I got an iced “mochachino”. It was like strong sickly sweet chocolate milk with crunchy powder lining the bottom. She also overcharged me from what the menu showed, and I didn’t argue. The food looked and smelled good, but all I was looking for at the time was some caffeine. I couldn’t take more than 3 sips though.
Coffee heaven. Atmosphere... Like home.
Dont miss out on their homemade key lime pie!
Amazing. You need to be here if you are in key west. Fresh and delicious! I got the arepas and the empanadas!!!!! Quesadillas unbelievable. Make this a go to.
Fantastic hole in the wall. The food and latte were amazing. Staff very outgoing and friendly. Great prices! Will definitely go next time Im in Key West. Want to try more of the food
Blows coffee queen out of the water, from one foodie to the next. In general this food is excellent, can’t go wrong with your choice. Stop by even if there’s only room for an empenada! Won’t regret it.
Friendly staff, excellent food and coffee.Would like to have been able to see a menu while in line (not much room inside to be indecisive).
I’ve never had Cuban cuisine. The bread is like leather. The coffee is like crack cocaine Jesus . It is something to try
The reviews are true! Amazing food and the owner and her staff are friendly and loving! Highly recommend for authentic Cuban food.
We wanted to try as many restaurants as possible in this trip and this place didn’t let us. The food was SO GOOD, like INCREDIBLE, as Colombian is so hard to find a good flavor in US and we normally cook because of this but this place tasted like the best of the best I had back at my country. Like you can’t not go here if you’re in the island. A massive plus is that the service is incredible they even remembered what we liked when we get there every morning 😂. Anyways. Best restaurant ever.
DELICIOUS EVERYTHING! This place is truly a gem! The two women behind Key West Cuban Coffee know what they are doing!!! Its so much more than coffee! The food is incredible, so much flavor, so fresh and ALL homemade! I would definitely rename this one the QUEEN of the cuban coffee world in Key West! Gracias Bonita!!!
The ladies here are so sweet & The food is delicious!! We had the arepas and empanadas...sooo good & served with an AMAZING salsa. We sampled Key Lime pie all over the island and this was by far the best! Everything is homemade and it feels like youre sitting in your mommas kitchen.
My wife n I love this place. The empanadas are amazing as well as the café cubano n more. Enjoy!!!
I finally made it to Key West Cuban Coffee today and was amazed by how delicious the burrito was. The shop is so cute and I only went in for coffee, but the delicious aroma was too wonderful not to eat something. The Latte was perfect and the burrito was so fresh and flavorful that I will be going back often. Thank you Key West Cuban for the lovely lunch!
Great options, even for vegetarians. The staff is very warm and cheerful. Make a stop here if youre in Key West!
AMAZING food and staff!!! The woman working the register was such a sweetheart! Stopped in four coffee, wound up bringing the entire family back for lunch. Huge portions st a great price!
Amazing homemade food and coffee. The owner deserves every star.
I’m currently eating here, and let me tell you...THIS is legit. Got the ropa vieja arepa..oh MY. So good! I’m not a coffee person but tasted the iced coffee and it was really good too! In hindsight, I wished I would’ve come here first above some of the other places I went to here in Key West, because it tastes better than anything I’ve had here so far. Owner is sweet and attentive. I’m a VERY happy diner right now 😋
If ur feeling down, had a hard night, are hungry and want to feel some love in both the experience and the food, this is the place. Carolina, the owner, lathers your experience with her heartfelt response to your orders with me Amor and my love..this is a must do spot.
One of the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants in Key West and really all of the Keys! The owner takes such pride in her guests experience. Get the breakfast burrito with a cafe con leche and you will never be disappointed!
Order online and have it ready when you arrive! The chorizo burrito was top notch.
I wish I could give this place more stars. The food is amazing. Stopped here for coffee which is great. Got some food which was amazing. Ended up going there everyday. Carolina will take care of you ..
Fantastic food, strong coffee. I got the Cuban breakfast, the ham in there was great. Salsa verde was on point. Everything was just great!
Kind service food to order that is homemade and tastes great
My wife and I were looking for authentic Cuban food in key west and this is the go to place. The food is unreal, super tasty and fresh.
Good coffee and food. Friendly people.
Really enjoyed their coffee, strong and delicious! Had the chorizo, egg and cheese sandwich which was also very good. Highly recommend!
Incredible food, great tiny restaurant find. Had the homemade chorizo breakfast burrito and Cuban toast. Definitely would try their other menu items.
You can smell the delicious aroma of this kitchen from down the street!Hefty portions, very kind & caring staff.By far one of the best restaurants in all of Key West.
If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions and ask them to remember that when making your food, they will not. I ordered a breakfast burrito NO QUESO NO CHEESE NO FROMAGE (in that order of requests). The overworked FOB at the register said something along the lines of si. Surprise surprise, after a decent waiting time, a breakfast burrito to go shows up WITH GOADS OF QUESO/CHEESE/FROMAGE in it. I had a fun time spending an hour at work on the porcelain throne with horrid GI upset, brain fog, horrid abdominal cramps, vomiting and fever of ~38 Centigrade. These symptoms persisted over the course of four days. After the first night of not being able to hold fluids down i went to see a doc for IV fluids. When there, I described the incident and how i was surprised that this lactose intolerance episode lasted longer than a day! They decided to test for food poisoing and, surprise surprise, I tested positive for norovirus! If you value your health and/or have dietary restrictions for religious or medical reasons please spend your hard-earned money at a more... Sanitary establishment. Oh, OSHA, where art thou?
Love coming to the keys and getting amazing home-made food from here! Sweet, sweet hard working ladies running it ! Always makes it feel warm and welcome 😊
OMG! Just a little hole in the wall (almost literally!) Not much room to stay and eat but fabulous food, wish wed found them sooner on our trip.
The owner was extremely patient with our party as we order. She was kind and understanding of dietary restrictions and made sure to make us feel welcome. A true gem in the Key West Community. Food was great and the service even better!
The owner is the sweetest lady! She always greets you aloha mi amor. She has the best homemade empanadas, I tired the guava & cheese and the beef & cheese, best empanadas I have ever had! I also tired the chorizo, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich that too was very good. If your in Key West make sure to stop by this local place and try their empanadas.
Omg, the best breakfast burritos I have had and the salsa😘. The owner went out of her way to share the salsa recipe with me when I asked her if we can buy salsa from her. She is so so hospitable and I only wish I could give 1000 stars. People and food like this make your day. Love love and lots of love
Only had a great Cuban coffee but a great extensive menu for a tiny little place. They were making homemade chorizo on the stove!! Will be back for lunch. They serve breakfast also. Sweet folks working there!
So good we came back the next morning too! Great coffee, huge variety of breakfast or lunch options, friendly service, reasonable prices, this is the spot!
Absolutely amazing and tasty food would go here for every meal if I could. Staff was so friendly!
This was my husband and I’s ‘go-to’ for breakfast and lunch! The owner always greeted us with a ‘hi sweetie!’ and we can’t wait to return to visit for the amazing food! Can you ship coffee beans to Nashville, TN?! ♥️
Great coffee (hot when you get it or cold an hour later), great food (get the mixed Cuban, but add the pepper sauce for the french fries!), and great service!
Breakfast, lunch and delicious coffee any way you like it here at Key West Cuban Coffee! We sampled something here every day for a week and nothing disappointed. The service is friendly and there is literally something for everyone.Breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burrito with homemade chorizo, ropa vieja, and lunches big enough to also serve as dinner. If your over coffee grab a cold beer with lunch. Some items are served with salsa verde, this is the best fresh salsa period on Earth.A must stop for an authentic Cuban experience/food in Key West.
Absolutely wonderful!!! Had the Mexican Chorizo Sausage burrito (5 stars!!!) Service was amazing, so friendly and welcoming! Will definitely recommend & come back!!!
“Wow,” this little spot has the best Cuban coffee, and their sandwiches are da bomb. My wife and I split the Cuban Mix sandwich that was quite large, and we were so glad that we decided to share. This coffee and sandwich shop is a hidden gem that everyone Should visit before they Leave Key West.
Best Latin restaurant in key west! The shrimp ceviche is to die for 😋😋! Everything we ordered was great! Very flavorful! Will definitely go back
This place is incredible. Tiny but huge menu and taste. Had a Cuban coffee and guava and cheese empanada and chicken empanada. Delicious. A must visit in Key West. Service is good and quick!
