I have gone to the Monro center in Kingston for a number of years and I have always been satisfied with their service, professionalism, and cordial way of doing business. These are my Go-To guys for everything from regular oil changes to uh oh, whats that noise? and uh oh, what does that light on the dashboard mean?. I trust that when they tell me this or that needs fixing on my car, the car really does need it. I feel safe in my car because of them.

Got my car inspection. But was unable to get a sticker because my car not being used for months The sensor didnt all work . I was given a 10 day permit. Til I put on addition 50 miles. Which I understand. I paid the inspection fee.. When I go back I have to pay an additional fee they have to re check my sensors. Update I went back a week later . They took another emission test. I was in and out in 10 minutes . Very satisfied.

While I did see some old negative reviews. I had exactly the opposite experience . Had brake work and shocks and struts done. Service managers and staff were great .. Efficient and honest about what expected costs would be . Truck was worked on in the time specified ...I am happy that truck now drives and brakes safely. Because things were in poor shape making me cautious about driving it.Truck is now safe and drives 100% better .Jon

We have two vehicles that have all maintenance work done at Monroe in Kingston. The team at Monroe in Kingston always provides excellent service. Brian does a great job managing the front desk and making sure all the is are dotted and the ts are crossed. Jim is an excellent mechanic and in the 8 years we have been going there, we have never had to have re-work done. The man is an expert in his field. You can trust him when he recommends service.Not only do these gentlemen provide excellent service, they are friendly and hospitable.Highly recommend this shop for all your auto needs.

I needed a tire repaired. I actually had thought I needed a new tire, but rather than go for the sale, Monro did the right thing and did a swift, friendly repair.

Stranded in Kingston, with a major anti freeze leak, these guys went out of their way to help us. We couldnt wait for them to do the repairs, wish we couldve, but they put it on the lift, looked it over, gave me the bad news, took me to a rental and uhaul, and charged us nothing. This place got me fixed right up. They got my tires changed without an appointment. They were fast, and professional.

I was a little thrown off by the managers tone. But in the end it was no big deal. Could have just been having a rough day. Stopped in to have 4 wheels and tires mounted and balanced on a Sunday, dropped them off at 3 and picked up at 4:30. Nobody else in town would do it. I was worried about taking it to certain places, not wanting my new XD wheels to get beat up. All said and done. Outstanding job, no scratches on the wheels. Manager was nice and friendly at pickup, and helped load all the wheels and tires. He took the time to mark the two tires that had less weights, and point out and inform me that those will need to be the front ones. In the future, i will return to have similar jobs done because of my first good experience here! Thanks to everyone at monro for the help on a Sunday!

I cant say enough to explain how great this place is. On two occasions they have been extremely helpful. I brought my Tesla there the first time because Sams Club tried to repair my tire, but it comtinued to lose air. Monroe found the problem and fixed it immediately and for a reasonable price. Today, my brakes were making a horrible noise. I couldnt get an appointment at the Tesla shop for over a week, and its an hour away. Monroe took it right in, found the problem and had it fixed in under 30 minutes. I will be doing more business with them in the future.

Very expensive and bad additute and pressure after refusing repair

I woke up last Sunday morning at a campground near Phoneica to discover a flat tire on the 1998 Land Rover that I was borrowing from a friend. I couldnt find a jack in the car but luckily the owner of the campground had a compressor and was able to help me get some air into the tire. Monro Auto in Kingston was the nearest place that was open. I called ahead and they assured me that theyd be able to fit me it. After a quick 20 minutes I had a tire that was good as new and was able to fit in a few more activities I had planned that weekend before returning to the city.I also witnessed the owner deal with a very rude customer in a very professional manner. The guys at Monro Auto are good folks and good at what they do. I was happy to give them my business. I highly recommend them.

Worst experience they scratch my new rims they wanna talk about what do I expect them to do would never go there again ever!!!and they didn’t even fix the problem and I’m out 134$ You mine as well say I paid them to scratch my rims!!!

I just had the best experience !! Be sure to come here for all your auto needs. They gentlemen here are wonderful. Spent 3 hours in Mavis in Port Chester to have snow tires put on, and I had an appointment. I had to leave to go to work. I left my car at Mavis in Riverside from 12;30 until 5:15 to have the snow tires put on. I arrived at 5:15 and they told me I would have to leave the car and they would put the tires on the following day. I am done with Mavis. Iwill only come to Monro in Kingston .The most amazing thing that happened was that I was in and out in less than an HOUR !!!! Wheel alignment topping off fluids and all . I’m thrilled !!!

I got brand new tires here they had really good service very low priced and they did it right away I didnt have to wait more than 45 minutes for them to take care of me. They did make an order and I have to come back a few days later for the tires I like theyre waiting area its really nice and clean thank you so much for your service

Horrible experience - made an appointment for 10:00am to have tires installed. When we arrive they told us they couldn’t perform the work right now because they were too busy, even though we had an appointment. Told us to come back at 11:30. I told them we had to leave no later than 12:30 for an appointment and the manager said “No problem, that’s plenty of time”. When we arrived at 11:30, they told us to wait. When I reminded him that he said we’d be done by 12:30, he said “I never said that, I said I’d try”. Then, as soon as the car was on the rack, he came out to try and sell new brakes and to tell us he broke two tire pressure sensors. He took no blame in this, saying that they always break. Then tried to sell us new sensors for $125 each. Finally, they broke the wheel cover and then reattached it to the wheel with zip ties, and never said a word. When the car came out, he saw me looking at the wheel with the zip ties and he came over and said “It was like that when you brought it in”. Please spare me the “Thank you for your feedback” response.

Ive been going to Monro for all of my automotive needs for many years, as have my daughter and grandson. The management, counter people and mechanics are always pleasant and responsive to my needs. A special nod to the mechanic, Jim, who is so good at quickly diagnosing the problem and fixing it. I wont go anywhere else.

Just paid $1,085 to have my muffler/interim pipe repair job done. Tried to discuss the price of parts being triple what they sell for on Amazon (I knew every part I needed by number and looked them all up) but they wouldnt hear it and bull sh1tted me into doing the job I really needed anyway. Im just really disgusted by the mechanic scam. Other than that they were*pleasant, quick and I have no way of knowing if they did a good job or not. Yet. But you know- come on? 1 part in Amazon was 106 but I paid them 325 for it. That was one part.

The people at Monroe tire in Kingston are fantastic . I came there for a basic repair &the service was great & the repair was done promptly and as promised.Before leaving they test drove my car & locateda problem I was not aware of & not related to the repair they completed. They then check my car again, put the car on the lift & solved the problem.The special effort they displayed & the carehas made me a forever customer. I highly recommend Monroe muffler & brake, and give them a 5 STAR rating.

Alignment for a Tacoma

After almost being ripped off by Mavis and being told I needed to shove out $300 bucks for brakes, rotors and having parts left under the hood of my car. The guys at Monro assured me that those 2 things did not need to be replaced. Dillon and Kyle were great! They brought me in and showed me that both my brakes and my rotors were in good condition and that I didn’t need to replace either of those things! Decent, honest guys! I would recommend them!! Thanks guys!

These guys treated me right. They were prompt and helpful when I needed an alternator immediately. From now on, Im coming here for any work I need done on my car. Its a comfort knowing a good reliable place to go.

I made an appointment online for the next morning. When I arrived the staff was waiting for me. I knew I needed front brake pads and possibly rotors and they confirmed this. They gave me the option of doing the rear brakes that would include a discount but I declined. They tried to convince me to flush the brake system and do an alignment but I declined this too. I had gotten an estimate from another mechanic on the brake job of $300 for front rotors and pads. Their cost was $430 but it comes with a lifetime warranty on the pads. I am satisfied in that I was in and out in 30 minutes and the staff was so friendly the time flew by. A little more money but it works out even since the next time I get free pads ($100 value). Besides, they have the cutest Great Dane/ mastiff puppy.

Monro Muffler/Brake Service on Albany Ave Kingston NY provided me with excellent service! They were polite and kind - it was a pleasure doing business with them. The went above and beyond making an additional weld repair on an item I asked about last minute and ensured I was fully satisfied.I highly recommend them.

This is the WORST Automotive Repair facility I have EVER gone to in my life! I made an appointment; told the guy I had a coupon and that they had mispelled my last name. I told him what kind of car I had; EVERYTHING!So I get to the place, tell him I have an appointment, give him my coupon and ALL Brian Vanata does is frown. I asked him is there a problem? He said the store # on the coupon wasnt theirs. I responded that I ONLY received it in the mail and I told whomever I made the appointment with all of my car information.I will NEVER go there again!Monro Auto in Kingston, NY

I brought my car here for an oil change, and the mechanic told me I needed new brakes right away, and needed my rotors done too. I took it to J&H for a second opinion, and found out the brakes are fine. Monro lied to me and tried to make me buy brakes I didnt need. These folks are not trustworthy, and take advantage of people.

Five-star Service today from Munro Auto Service and Tire. On a Sunday, they took care of my leaking tire as soon as I pulled up and didn’t charge me a thing. Super-nice and efficient, and we sure felt lucky starting off on a 2-hour drive to have had their expert service.

I went there to get a inspection and was told I needed about 5 things done to my car In order for me to even pass inspection. They where wrong. I went to someone else and they simply stated I passed! Every time I go to Monro somehow they always seem to find 10 more things wrong with my car. Trying to get literally every cent out of me. Also, the environment is not very friendly. Never again!

I received fantastic service yesterday at Monro! I came in on a donut spare thinking I needed a new tire, and was happily surprised to learn that my old one could be easily repaired. Love this place. Not easy to find true customer service oriented places these days but its clear these guys make that a top priority! The management must be doing lots of things right.

Ive been coming here for years for oil changes, disappointed in the last visit. The service they offer seems to diminish each time. The latest was I was low on some fluids (windshield washer and another) and wanted to charge me. Most fluid top offs are free, and used to be here. Then they gave me a list of work that needed to be done. The car is 2 years old and still under warranty. None of it needed to be performed yet, and not at the high prices they quoted me. The topper was when I left they said make sure to go onto google and rate us a 5. Sorry, not going to happen.

Highly recommend Monroe Mufflers in Kingston NY. I had the pleasure of having Dillion and the service team work on my Camry. They were very professional and curious and best of all have a good chemistry with their customers which is rear these days.

My daughter thought her muffler was rattling so I stopped in on a Saturday morning without an appt. They had the car up on a lift within minutes and gave it a complete inspection. They found nothing wrong and I was on my way within 15 minutes of my arrival with no charge.

I have been using Monro for the past three years. I recently relocated to Kingston from Rhinebeck and started using the Monro Kingston location. I ended up getting a nail in my tire and it was leaking slowly. I stopped in Monro to get it patched. They said they would charge me about $30 to fix it.Some companies will patch the tire for free if you bought your tires from them. From what I could remember, just over a year ago, I had bought my tires from Monro in Rhinebeck. The man behind the counter said he did not have access to that information.While waiting 45 minutes for the tire to be patched, I found a coupon online for a free flat tire repair. When it came time to pay, I presented the coupon on my phone and the man behind the counter said it had to be printed out.He wouldnt accept it until I pointed out that the coupon has a send to text button. (I would think he would be familiar with Monro online coupons)He charged me for the parts which came out to $15. I would not describe him as courteous, friendly or respectful despite my appreciation for the service.After looking into the cost of a simple tire repair, I believe $30 is on the high end. Especially for a return customer who (believed) they bought their tires from Monro.I dont know what its like to work at Monro or how well the employees are paid, but they do seem to try to squeeze every penny out of me when I go. I know that cars require maintenance, but in my experience, Monro takes advantage of customers. Maybe not all customers every time, because that would be too obvious.

Over $100 for an oil change with synthetic oil is a little outrageous. How does $69 oil turn into over a $100 charge? Rip off Id say. Feeling very overcharged. And to boot I was told I need four new tires because they were almost bald, yet my tires still have plenty of tread. Wont be coming back again

Avoid this place. The staff is rude, disrespectful and extremely unaccommodating. They are dishonest and lied to me about the condition of my vehicle when I took it in for an inspection.About 10 minutes after I dropped my car off, I received a phone call in which I was asked if I had replaced my calipers recently and was then told that they were leaking. They asked me to come back in order for them to show me the problem. I instructed them to take the car down and I would just come get it.When I returned, the disgruntled man at the font desk was there waiting for me, keys in hand, looking very disappointed that I had not decided to stay and listen to their concerns about my “leak.” I recently had my front rotors and calipers and all of my brake pads completely replaced. Immediately after I was told about this “leak” at Monro, I took my car to be seen by the very HONEST man who had replaced my brakes. He was fuming. There was NO LEAK whatsoever. Everything was fine and the vehicle should have passed easily. Do not go here if you need your car inspected—end of story.

Manager will ask you(customer) to write a review before work is done, and bill made out . DONT do it . Bills I have seen all haveTOP OFF FLUIDS charge . I checked all fluid levels before taking car in for oil change . All levels were fine . No leeks, I would see it in my driveway . short story, no fluids were added, but shop refused to refund charge . NEGATIVE STARS FOR MONROE RHINEBECK .

I feel generous in giving 2 stars but Im giving this because the work itself was perfect. My tire pressure light came on so I came to have it looked at. Nothing needed to be replaced and the shop staff was efficient and everything went well. I saw the man who worked on my car bring my keys back to the front after driving my car to the side of the shop ready for me to leave. Im not exaggerating when I say from that point when everything looked done I sat and waited for nearly an hour AFTER my car had been serviced. Now I dont know if they didnt charge me because they felt bad (as they should) for making me wait that long or if it really didnt cost anything because I wouldve fought that over the crappy customer service by the one gentleman sitting at the computer while getting every customer before me out the door until another customer commented that I had been sitting here for a long time and looked irritated and worried about the time (which I was). Will absolutely under no circumstances ever go here again until the customer service aspect of this location is looked into and fixed (whether that means they add another computer and another front desk employee or they speed it up as there were only 3 of us in the shop at most).

After trying for at least a month to get an inspection done over in the Rhinebeck store and endless frustration with them telling me they were unable to do inspections for over a month, I called the store in Kingston. Not only were they able to get me right in for my inspection but they were also able to do the work I needed while I was there. Very pleasant experience with the employees there. I will be going to Kingstons Monro from now on.
