Found this passing through on way to NJ. Excellent find! The outdoor seating was very inviting with comfortable umbrella tables and plants. We sat inside though, which was also very comfortable and super clean. I was impressed with the cleanliness (bathrooms were sparkly), the friendliness of all staff, the excellent food and portions, and very reasonable prices. Dessert was homemade and delicious (cheesecake and mixed berry pie).
They have made a quite picturesque outdoor seating area in the parking area, with heaters to chase away the chill. Generously-sizes portions. Great stop on the way back to Connecticut.
We had some of the most amazing 🏆 hamburgers 🍔 with fries 🍟 and fried 🍤 onion rings. The rice 🍚 🌾 pudding 🍮 was delicious 😋, plentiful, with lots of whipped cream 🍨. The owner, who is a the third generation owner, has tastefully honored the World War II hero who the diner is named after. As you walk into the diner on the right ⏯️ wall, there is a photo and beautifully framed 🖼️ photo and bio of him and his life. May his memory be Eternal 🙏🏻. If you are looking for a diner with great 👍🏼 food 🥝 and service, I recommend you stop 🛑 by and indulge yourself. Enjoy 😊😊!!
The GOOD, the Chicken Parmesian Panini was good and balanced between the sauce and cheese. The BAD, the pizza for the kids was sloppily assembled, the crust was wet and not from the sauce. The cheese was a literal piece of cheese thrown on haphazardly instead of shredded cheese. The wrap, was dry despite stating it had Chipotle mayo, the chicken wasnt seasoned and they couldve added a sliver of bacon. Maybe the chef had an off day? Not sure but I know the chicken parm was good so I hope that the dining experience can be better.
This is a diner the way you remember them! Amazing burgers, fast service, cute tee-shirts on the staff (upstate and chill) and low prices make for a happy crowd of regulars. Owner seems to know everyone. Even nice outdoor dining since covid. Recommended
We go here whenever we can, and they have never disappointed us. Good is excellent (try their potato chips!), And staff super friendly, respectful, and helpful. Excellent. Weve tried other diners in Kingston/Ulster, and the dismal experiences sent us running back to Dietz Stadium Diner.

Excellent, quick, friendly service. Both of the omelets I had there were quite good. As another bonus, they do have gluten-free toast and other options to accommodate people with dietary restrictions.

My cousin & I stopped for breakfast while out doing appt and shopping errands. We had yummy western omelets, home fries and whole wheat toast w/ coffee, plus great service !!!
The food is always good here. Andy is just the nicest man and Isabelle the server was an excellent server. I dont know how these businesses are going to survive these times we are in. Very very sad. Plenty of food, good prices,clean and the food was so good as usual. Their coleslaw is the best
Great friendly staff. Very affordable prices for this day in age for an “old school” All American Diner. Their Hamburgers which is among their most popular items are excellent. Plus their breakfast menu is very good. And finally around the Thanksgiving/Christmas Holidays their Hot Turkey Breast Platter is outstanding. Being going to this place at least 1x a month since I moved to the Kingston area several years ago. One of the best Family Restaurants in Ulster County.

A family owned institution in the Kingston area for many hears. Just around the corner from the bus station, this diner has SPACIOUS outdoor dining and plenty of free parking.

What an awesome surprise! We ate outside in the dining area and enjoyed a really great lunch and fantastic service. Both the burger and the steak & cheese sub were superb. Clean and efficient... Wow!! We will be back for certain!

Wifes breakfast was good, mine was really not that good. Waitress was willing to replace it but after eating about 1/3 of the dish I had no appetite left. Coffee was good, place was clean.
I always come here and get the turkey club and it is always very good. I love how I am able to feed a family of 4 without having a heart attack at checkout. I wish I lived closer so I could come more often, but when I do come to kingston its always a great option. Very impressed with everything they make. Yum yum!!
Great lunch spot! Service is quick and social distancing is observed for indoor dining. They also offer outdoor dining when the weather allows for it. The food is always great and prices are reasonable.

We dine at Dietz’s almost every time we visit my in-laws. Super friendly staff and clean. They have an extensive menu with glorious diner staples, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Tonight I had chicken marsala with a romaine lettuce salad, chicken noodle soup and chocolate cake for dessert. My wife had a salad, cheese ravioli parmigiana and delicious cheese cake for dessert. We highly suggest Dietz’s Stadium Diner if you are in the area.
Usually enjoy this diner.. when it comes to the ground beef especially on a Sunday who ever is cooking does not realize that raw red meat is not meant to be served.. raw. Horrible experience with the Salisbury steak and a simple burger.

PLEASE READ!(if i could i would give it a -25 stars.)On Saturday August 7th my husband and I decided to go to this diner for breakfast with our 3yr old daugther. We could have chosen any diner but we pick this diner because the service is usually pretty good food is fast not the best but somewhat decent.When we sat down It to the waitress a bit to get to us it was not that busy. When she took our order I was very specific when I said no onions in my home fries plus I asked for my burger to be cooked medium. I had the two eggs with a hamburger combo. for one the eggs were cooked correctly but the burger was cooked well done and there were onion threw out my homefries had I not seen the onions I would have been sick from eating them. As I realize the waitress does not cook the food. She should have checked to make sure the order was correct before it got to the table. I took her a bit to come and check on us. sense she didnt come back to check on us and the the diner no longer has crayons and a coloring page for kids. When the waitress finally came back to check on us I told her and showed her the onions in my home fries her answer was . I wrote and told them no onions. Then asked if I would like new ones. but sense it took so long to get our food and the toddler was getting antsy. I couldnt stay any longer. This diner is defiantly no kid friendly anymore. This Kingston landmark has done an outstanding job of dealing with the seating restrictions. They have put together the coziest outside dining area. Yes Im using cozy in this crazy time. The food was fantastic with generous portions. The staff including the owners are extremely friendly. Support a local business. Go sit outside before you cant.
My husband and i went there today . 5/03/21 i only had 45 minute before i had to go back to work . When our waitress came over wish i could of got her name she was tall with blood hair. Anyway my husband told her i only have 45 minutes and ask if she would be able to get our order out by then we both only had sandwiches . But we sat maybe 5 minutes i got up to go to the restroom as i was going in she brought our order out. And as i was finshing mine she brought the check over and went and ran the card . Our service there took less then a half hour . Wish i got her name but thank you . And good job. Will differently go back.

Took the grandkids to dinner so everyone could have what they wanted. The smallest had a pancake with a egg and bacon, nice size portion for the 6 year old. The 13 year old wanted eggs, bacon potatoes, and toast. It was plenty for him except had to throw in a rice pudding that was delicious. The oldest wanted wings and had the buffalo wings appetizer, he seemed to enjoy it. Thats was plenty for him. I enjoyed a fish sandwich that came with fries and cole slaw. The flounder was a large frozen fillet that came on a nice size roll with lettuce and tomato on the side. All in all enjoyable and a fair price. We chose to eat inside thought they did offer outside as well.
First time at this diner and we will definitely be back! Service with a smile and the food was delicious! Dietz Diner is a win!

Had dinner there while on a trip to Hudson valley. They had a great menu. We tried grilled chicken sandwitch, ceaser wrap and chicken panini. Food was good, portion adequate, accompanying fries were crisp. Would love to try their other items when I am in town again.

Great service, excellent menu selection, and classic comfort food. This is everything that anyone could ever wish for. Seating both indoors and outdoors, ample parking, and ideal location, right next to the Kingston Trailways Bus Station. Highly recommend.

This is the best diner! They set up an outdoor seating place in the parking lot that is awesome. The staff is excellent and the homemade potato chips are so so good. Its an easy place to meet during the pandemic.

Went there for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised! Service is quick and very friendly, portions are very large and the food tastes great! Had the Philly cheesesteak which was huge and perfectly made. Place was also very clean.
The food used to be really good but has become mediocre lately. Their french toast doesnt taste like anything and I havent really had a good meal there in a long time but their service is really good and the people are really nice. I just wish they put more time and money in their food since thats the main reason to eat out.

I just went there tonight 6/24/2020 and they now have outside seating which is wonderful. They also have indoor seating as well. Great service, awesome outside dishes and friendly atmosphere. I totally recommend it for a quick outside meal.

Food was very subpar, burgers came out undercooked and very greasy, fries zero seasoning and garlic bread was just decent bread with diced garlic and weird stripes of cheese on top. 2 stars because service was good.

Dietz Diner is a gem. The folks are friendly, prices very reasonable, and most portions are big enough to take some home, and a bonus - the food is delicious - hearty home cooking. Their dinner and senior menus are worth writing home about. Definitely an asset to Kingston. By the way, this great diner is just around the corner from the historical district. A win-win.
I have been to every diner in Kingston. Most of them several times.Dietz is the best by a significant margin. The food is always good, the prices are fair, and you NEVER leave hungry.This is especially true with their specials. I usually get 2-3 full meals out of one of their specials.Everything Ive ever had there (and Ive been there dozens of times) has always been fresh and well prepared. I have literally never had to to send anything back.My only gripe is their coffee. It consistently tastes like charcoal. Otherwise, this place is absolutely superb.
