I was given a timely appointment, not a long wait at all. When I took my car in I was told I’d be getting a call with the diagnosis and cost. I got that call within 30 minutes. The next call came within 2 hours of dropping off my car. The job was already completed. I couldn’t quite believe it took such a short time. The best part of all was that the price was quite a bit lower than what I expected. The crew there at the shop is great. Everybody was so nice and friendly especially Kelly. They were thorough and polite. I was about 10 minutes late to my appointment and they still got me right in and we’re nice about it. They changed the oil, rotated my tires, and replaced the air filter while assuring that all other basic and general functions were working properly. It was a great visit! They’re lobby and bathroom and clean as well which is always nice.

My son had just moved to Truman State University 2 weeks before having an issue with his car not starting. Although we had checked the battery and everything prior to him moving, things apparently can still happen. After asking on the Truman State Parent Facebook page who to use in Kirksville they suggested C & R. They were helpful, quick to help and reassured this nervous Mom that they would take care of her sons car. They replaced the battery, alternator, and serpentine belt in a day and I trusted them completely. They were professional and top notch. Scary when your kiddo lives out of state and they have a car issue. Grateful they were able to help him and fix his car! As long as my son is at TSU and if there is a car issue again, we will use C & R!

Took a 2009 chevy malibu ltz in for a transmission rebuild and brake work. Although they started working on it a week later than was told I was understanding of this as they are a busy shop with a lot of work brought in to do. Once job was started and Throughout the process there was excellent communication from them as to their progress. Very professional, friendly staff. They even reattached rear view mirror at no charge, transmission shifts and runs great at this time, price for work done was competitive to alternative shops, seems like they do quality work, I am very pleased and would return for more work done

They wont do unnecessary work like some other shops:Was originally quoted for a high amount to fix idler pulley and the tensioner pulley noise. They could have replaced both and I would have never known the difference. However, once they had the replaced the idler, the noise was gone. I ended up paying less than a quarter of the original invoice! Thank you for your honesty!

I have a 1983 Mustang that I’m rebuilding.Already replaced the engine with a HP engine from BluePrint motors.Decided to replace the transmission with a high $ transmission from Lentech.since it was highly technical I searched the internet for someone that knew what they were doing.Found C&R and drove 80+ miles to talk to them about it.After about 15 minutes I realized I found the right place to do this.I couldn’t have been happier with the workmanship, and the attitude of all of the employees.This was earlier this year.About a week, a half ago I noticed oil on the garage floor. The rear seal was leaking on the engine. I called C&R and they got it in the next week. They worked with the engine manufacturer and got it repaired with no cost to me.I just wanna say that Randy, Kelly, and the whole staff are a group of great people.Don’t ever hesitate to take your vehicle to them.I will drive the 80+ miles from my hometown to have someone work on my car that knows what they are doing.Thank you Randy, Kelly, and the rest of the employees at your shop.

Very pleasant staff seemed honest and I was pleasantly surprised with my bill they had my vehical from about 10 am to 2pm for my transmission diagnostic and fluids and under 20 also checked my vehical over and let me know my rear bearings are getting bad which I was totally unaware of will defiantly be using them again

C & R mechanics do great work! Theyre always very very friendly and work with you to get the best deals. My insurance company was very rude to the guys at C & R, but throughout it all, they (the guys at C & R) were SO NICE to me- they were kind, reassuring, and understanding.Ive gone to them for small repairs and several large repairs. I had to get new tires and they actually helped me find the highest quality tires for the lowest price. I would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone!

It took them 3 weeks 1 day to fix the transmission on my husband’s truck. ZERO communication from them to us during this entire time. We would call them to get the status. The first THREE days they told us they had no idea what the problem was as the truck seemed to drive/run just fine. Gave it another day called, they stated then they had pulled the transmission and sent it to a transmission shop (I thought THIS was a Transmission Shop I mean their name IS C&R Automotive & Transmission?) After several days no phone call from them, we again called back to see what was going on? At that time we were told the transmission was back in the truck at their shop but the truck was still not ready to go. After this we called just about every other day, each time we were told my boss will be calling you back about this OR someone will call you back with an update NO ONE ever called us back! The ONLY time they called us was when it was time to pick it up and pay the 3,000 plus bill. We dropped the truck off around 9 a.m. on 8.27.19 it was not ready to pick up until 3 p.m. on 9.18.19. Would NOT recommend this shop to anyone for anything, to top it all off two days AFTER picking up the truck the Boss Owner Randy text us asking how things were with the truck, we replayed with some concerns and oh guess what NO TEXT back again not surprised. TERRIBLE SHOP

Really liked dealing with the people working here. I needed a ride home when I would take my car in, and it was never a problem. I needed work done quick, and they fit me into their schedule to accommodate me. Good prices too.

I have had the pleasure of C & R servicing my 2004 Ford Escape for several years.....as it has a lot of miles it has had to have several parts replaced that wore out. Always friendly and get it done quickly. Reasonable prices. I consider them the best and recommend them to all I see.

I have used C & R automotive for many years at his different locations. I have several cars of all models and years. Randy, Kelly and their crew have been very professional in repairing my cars. I’ve had a new transmission, fuel pumps, water pumps, brake problems and all have been resolved. The prices are reasonable for the quality of work a bargain.

Previously-at its older location-I always had great experience here. The mechanics/manger were very fair and honest. So when I moved back, I continued business with them. This now included their popular $20 oil change. But I had noticed that the mechanics had seemed more disorganized and disgruntled with one another.Regardless, I ordered tires but this kept getting pushed back and the only way I knew about it was by calling them. There were certain causes of this delay that were out of their control. But since I live 40 minutes away, and the tires STILL hadnt arrived after I called again AND a bay wouldnt be opened, I told them No, thank you. After complaining it wasnt their fault, they hung up on me.I will never be doing business with them again. This includes going back to doing my own oil changes.

Awesome work and great service. I needed my brakes fixed quickly and they were very receptive and helpful. I didnt have an appointment and even though they were very busy, my car was done in just a couple of hours. Highly recommended!

With the cost of living high as it is, its nice to have the expertise of these guys to get to the bottom of things at a most reasonable cost. Ive been taking my trucks and cars to them for a few years and consistently had excellent service. Theyre the mechanics least likely to upsell or overcharge you for repairs in town. The coowners and managers are friendly and honest, which are traits that Ive always appreciated about them.

Not very good at letting a person know if its going to take longer to get a vehicle fixed. A person shouldnt have to call them at 430 on a Friday only to betold they wont have the vehicle done till Monday.
