When you walk over to The Donut Shop you’ll smell the distinct and enticing aroma of frying oil long before you see the unbelievably charming store front. While admiring the shop we were invited inside by the incredibly friendly staff and were immediately greeted by the smell of yeast and frosting. All of their donuts are gorgeous to look at, and their non-uniform sizes and shapes assure you that each one has been crafted by hand. My girlfriend and I tried their maple and salted caramel glazed yeast donuts as well as the Fruity Pebbles cake donut. Both varieties are spectacular! There’s an unbelievable sweetness and depth of flavor to each one without being cloying or one note. Each flavor of glaze as well as each variety of donut (yeast and cake) had there own distinct flavor that went so far beyond the standard of donuts so many of us must be used to. It had been so long since I had had a donut from somewhere other than a mass produced chain donut shop that I had forgotten how good they could be when mad properly by someone who cares about their product. If you’re live in Knoxville or are visiting and like sweets for breakfast you owe it to yourself to indulge in this amazing new gem that has just been added to our city. I’m definitely looking forward to my next visit.

The staff were extremely friendly each time. The first time we must have went right after a rush because they were out of a lot of donuts, which I usually take as a good sign. Went again and they were stocked up. They have the best blueberry cake donuts I have ever had, and some really good maple long-johns. Overall, great donut selection and great donut quality. Best place in Knox to get donuts!

These are good donuts but heavily iced which is fine if you like lots of icing. I feel they are extremely expensive $15 for 5 donuts and 1 fritter. They do offer day old dozen box for $5 (you dont get to pick what you get).

My daughter and I have a weekly daddy/daughter date for donuts. Weve tried every shop in the area. As the donut connoisseurs we are, we keep our rotation to a select few. We will be adding The Donut Shop to the rotation. Honestly, one of the top donuts in Knoxville.

Mondays are cake donut days! I had the mocha latte cake donut and it was absolutely delicious! Very espresso-y! Will be going again soon!

I went two days in a row. The first day the boy at the counter was not very accommodating, they were out of almost all their product and out of coffee. I paid the same price for 8 donuts as a dozen, which I had originally wanted, and overall the experience was poor and the donuts did not make up for the lack of customer service and were overpriced for what I got. I even had to ask him to put it in a smaller box when he was giving me 3 donuts in a dozen box and the other 5 in a smaller one. Today the woman at the front was so pleasant kind, apologetic for anything they were out of, and just made the whole experience better. I will go back again and if that woman is there I will update my review to 5 stars, because she was delightful and the donuts somehow even tasted better ;)

This is one of my new favorite spots! The shop is an adorable quaint spot and they have quite a selection. I need to eat gluten free and I was impressed with their gluten sensitive options as well as the precautions that they take. The donuts are wonderful! I cannot wait to go back!

I suspect The Donut Shop will be here to stay in Knoxville. From it’s adorably modern charm to its friendly staff, this is definitely a new gem in our city. The donuts were easily the best donuts I have ever had. The dough was warm, fresh out of the oven, and was rich with flavor. The icing was thick with a complimentary taste that didn’t over power the dough itself. My favorite donut flavor was the fruity pebbles-topped donut - highly recommend. For those who have allergies, they do have gluten-free donuts available, too!

These donuts are the bomb. Excellent flavor and not super sweet. Myself and my partner live in the neighborhood and decided to try them out. Thank goodness we did. Man they are awesome. The folks who were there working were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Absolutely excellent service and donuts. We will be back.

Been here twice already and I cant get enough. Super delicious, unique, homemade donuts to die for. Every donut is great! My favorite so far has been a peach cobbler fritter and the salted caramel, and my husband loves the Oreo donut. Ive never liked most donuts but this place changed the game!

Great location, incredibly helpful and kind employees, and amazing donuts!I have celiacs, and although they do bake “regular” donuts, they take all the necessary precautions to prepare their gluten free donuts. I was hella pleased when I called to ask what gf flavors they had and the employee named off 6 or 7 different flavors! If you struggle like I do, you know that it’s rare to find a place with one gf option, so I was already stoked upon entering. Now, do not take this lightly when I say this next piece.... these gluten free donuts are F^%*ING PHENOMENAL! I was seriously questioning if they were actually gluten free.....I did not have any negative symptoms afterwords! This place is fab y’all. Go here. Just do it.My boyfriend had the regular ones, and he is just as pleased as I am. They have a really great variety of unique flavors. They were more expensive than what he would typically pay for his non gf donuts, (18 for a dozen, with $1 extra per gf donut) however, i am not even mad about it because everything is just hella worth it.Man what a great way to start a Saturday! Clean, trendy, delicious! We tried the lemon traditional and cinnamon powdered sugar donuts. They were soft and tasty! Love the style of this quaint place. Great spot to meet a friend. Parking was easy on the side street next to the shop. Friendly and welcoming staff! They sell Mahalo coffee. We did not grab any today but have had Mahalo coffee before. It goes perfect with a donut. Will definitely be going back!

My husband and I are avid doughnut shop go-ers! Our favorite hobby is trying new shops every Sunday. This adventure has taken us to Nashville, Cookeville, Chattanooga, just to name a few. This shop completely took us by surprise! It was like finding a diamond in the rough. The yeast donuts are amazing, and maybe the best we have had in this area. The salted caramel, maple bacon, and strawberry were easy favorites! They are dense (like a doughnut should be) yet light and full of layers. We will definitely be stopping in again soon! Also, the staff was excellent and even spoke highly of other shops in town. They made a fan of us today!

We really wanted to like this new donut shop. Donuts are average (3 star). Due to location, atmosphere, loyalty points and staff, overall rating is 4 stars. I dont mind spending 2 bucks a donut, but for me I dont feel I got my monies worth, these were small, and embellishments were odd on a few. Like the red velvet. That could be much more epic if you skip the crumbles of the cake and add a nice layer of cream cheese icing and red strawberry flavor drisel. The brownie donuts too. Dont be shy with that! Throw some nutella and and dark chocolate shavings on it and lastly.. Sprinkled donuts need sprinkles. Not just some a smattering But it really needs to be loaded.

The reason why Im giving this place such a low score is because their products contain Soybean. For those that dont know Soybean is ranked 4th on the Big-8 Allergy List has been rising up the charts because more and more people are becoming allergic to Soybean. I would advise anyone with a gluten or nut allergy to call the place and have them verify whether or not they use them in their products.

10/10 MUST TRY!! I ordered two dozen doughnuts for my daughters 4th birthday party and they did not disappoint. Everyone loved the mix of fall flavors and the colorful decorations on the birthday cake doughnuts. When we picked them up the staff was exquisite with my daughter and wished her a happy birthday. I got myself a cup of coffee and they ladies up front fixed it up perfectly for me. The store, staff, and doughnuts are all amazing!!

I really liked the cereal doughnut which had vanilla icing and fruity pebbles on it as well as the simple yet sweet chocolate iced doughnut. We will definitely be back!
