I have been a reliable and returning customer for about 15 years but today I am cutting ties. After replacing my cats on my truck they refused to give my stock ones bac. first there was a core I said ok I’ll pay it then they said there’s not a core but a waiting period so I said ok I’ll wait then they just came out and said I can’t have mine back after paying almost 900$ to get 2 aftermarket cats put on. It saddens me that I was treated this way after such a long relationship with this shop.

We have brought multiple vehicles here and they have always been HONEST and don’t overcharge you. Two thing last that are hard to find in mechanics in Knoxville. I will always check here first to see if my repairs are something they can do. I recommend this place to everyone.

First of all.. kark Kare got my car on the rack! Its lower... they obliged. Price was fair. I got what I asked for.. a new resonator. Sounds great! Has found pavement a few times already... wish I would have taken their recommendations and spent a little more to make a custom section... Ill be back!Fyi: Theyre busy on the weekends!!

They were able to install an exhaust system we tried to do ourselves. I called them up, they said they could do it, and didnt have much of a wait at that time. They got it installed for me for a reasonable price and a lot faster than I could have done.

I dont give 5 stars lightly. I needed a hole new system and the exaust is one thing not impossable to do it your self but i know when to invest money and let the pros have it . i was just driveing down the road and stummbled into this shop . owner was not trying any high pressure sales tatics and even though he was under a car working he stopped what he was doing and took alook at my truck gave me a great price half what i thought it was going to cost . as far as i can tell he has a awsome welder they know what there doing . the negitive experinces iv read in these comments cant be the people i delt with .matter fact i dont think they would come to a point of dropping the f bombs and other things im reading . i guess anybody could have a bad day but i really think either there was a differnt person there that day or somebody just wants to hurt there reputation thats just me i wasnt there. But i felt like i needed to put that out there.

They were supposed to change out my catalytic convertor. A year later the dealership tells me its clogged and that a hole was drilled in the pipe between the CC and the engine. I call the owner and he says he cant honor the warranty unless I tell him the date that I had the work done. Says his system is paper only. Thats not my problem. Look through your paperwork until you find it. Better yet, get a computer and use it. Over $600 DOWN THE DRAIN. Ill never go outside of the dealership again...a waste of money. Now I have to spend another $950 to get the dealership to do it.

I went in with a couple non-related issues. They were smart and we had a discussion. He listened to my items and he went to work. Then I got the quote I needed and he also answered my question about my shock issue. After the test drive and more discussion, he referred me to a competitor. I was amazed. Smarts, thats what I call it. If you cant do it, then dont. So I am using them for the quote I got. Not bad and my feeling is if there is an issue with workmanship, they will handle it properly.

By far the best exhaust shop, great guys. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. All my cars and trucks have been here never an issue. I highly recommend this place!

Having a mysterious and intermittent driveability problem with my 02 WRX. A mechanic friend suggested I may have a catalytic converter that is beginning to clog. He suggested I visit Kar Kare Muffler in Ftn City. These guys checked the flow of my cats (two of them) and told me they were just fine. They spent 20 minutes with it on one of their racks on a busy Saturday and told me I didnt need what I thought I might need. Could they have easily sold me something I didnt need? Absolutely! And the best thing is they charged me nothing. Free. Zero. Thats impressive.

I took my car into Kar Kare Muffler to see if they could figure out what was wrong with my exhaust and the issue was fixed in under 2 hours. I was impressed with not only their quick turn around time but also their customer service. They were very professional and polite when I dropped off and picked up my vehicle and quickly called us to not only let us know the issue but describe it to us in enough detail that we knew they were being very honest about the repair. My biggest pet peeve is when shops call you and say the issue is ____ and its going to be $$$$$ so I really appreciated them taking a moment to explain the issue to me before telling me cost. Id recommend anyone take their car here to have Ryan and Greg help you out!

Was referred here from multiple sources, now I know why. Went in because I thought my muffler was bad (car had gotten much louder, coming from rear of car). Told the man working the desk at the time my suspicions.They had my car on the lift and let me know it was just a section of exhaust pipe that had rusted, the muffler was fine and they could simply replace that section of exhaust. Was much less expensive than replacing the muffler. I certainly appreciate the honesty and the quick service. Car sounds much better!

They cut wires off o2 sensors of my fiancés car. Said it wasn’t them Sam the so called manger was a complete liar bc we have proof that the wires was not cut before they worked on the car. I will never take anything to that shop again. The car had to be towed to another shop and be fixed. This is not the last time Sam has heard from us or the news.

My tire had a blow out right in front of their shop. And even though they dont do tires, they were so kind and helped me get on my spare. If you are looking for some really kind and helpful people to help you with shocks, breaks, or mufflers go to them!

I was wary of this place because of the multiple negative reviews - but my mechanic in North Knox recommended them. As did a friend. Two people I know and trust outweighed the negative reviews so in I went.The wait was quite long (like >90 min) and I was about to leave and expressed my frustration but the man at the counter explained (when I complained I could have tackled a zillion errands in the wait time and just come back at 4) that its 1st come 1st served. He said he was sorry for the wait but they dont take appointments. I said I was just cranky and would leave the car to get fixed and go get a frozen yogurt across the street.They took the van right back and had her finished (muffler job) in

They installed long tube headers and magnaflow exhaust on my titan. Communication was excellent and service was done right in a timely manner.The other kar kare i checked with first was trying to charge double.I will continue to use this location for any exhaust or suspension needs.These guts was so nice and up front about everything no hidden charges or trying to upsale me.Best experience i have ever had with a muffler shop

I brought in my 94 s10 blazer to have an exhaust flange gasket and muffler/tailpipe replaced. Very reasonably priced and 100% satisfied with the work. My car sounds much better than the way it was before. Everyone ghere was hard at work today; I felt it necessary to drop a tip for their team to enjoy lunch :)

I had an excellent experience here getting a new exhaust put on my 69 Charger. They were very knowledgeable and definitely welded in a an old school way. I felt that their work was solid.Theyre an auto shop, so you wont always necessarily be greeted immediately depending on how busy they are. Ive seen the manager hopping in and helping the guys out while overseeing their work.

After I took my vehicle in for brake pads they said that the bill would be $800 dollars and after waiting 2 hours I let them do the work. I had to return less than a week later because the brakes were grinding and after waiting another 2 hours I was told they fixed it and they had to adjust something but the car was fine. This week I found a part missing and returned and asked them to put the part back on and was told that they could replace it but I would be charged and there was a long wait. I told the man that they were the only ones that have worked on the vehicle and the part was either not installed properly and fell off or they had to have it. He informed me that they dont leave parts off and he was sure I was mistaken although he wasnt the person who worked on the car and didnt take the time to even ask the mechanic about it. I bought my car from the dealership and there is not any doubt whatsoever that they simply didnt put the part back on, its not a big deal and not expensive but the experience has shown me their true colors. They seem nice and all but every time I have been there the wait is ridiculous and I always end up having to spend hundreds more dollars than expected because there is always something else wrong with my car. The friendliness disappears when you have to return to have them fix their mistakes, oh I forgot, they dont make mistakes...smh

I just had a wonderful experience here. I had a rattling noise in my exhaust. They were able to quickly determine that it was just the cap on the tail pipe. It took them 5 minutes to spot weld it to stop the noise. They wouldnt let me pay them for fixing it. I kept offering to pay them and they wouldnt let me. They told me to come back and see them whenever I had any exhaust or brake work that needed to be done. You dont find nice people like this much anymore. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Just had some minor exhaust work done here, which turned out great! I want to take this opportunity to tell how well i noticed the owner took care of an elderly couple that was there before me. The couple was having an issue with their car, but they had no idea what it was. The way they were taking care of was nice to see! They had no mechanical issues and were told what was wrong, free of charge. This is something you never see anymore in todays world! They could have been easily taken advatage of, like other shops would have done. Nothing but respect for kar kares honesty and customer service! Highly recommend!

That broke my husbands dip stick didnt call to inform us. We only found out cause we got there to pick up before they were finished. They even told him it would be fine to drive it with the dip stick laying in the bottom of the oil pan. Then when we said that we werent leaving without it being fixed he simply came back and said well I got it out and then told us it was already broken (which it was not). When we finally got home an hour and a half after we were supposed to have been able.to pick up his car. We looked under the hood to see the damage to the dip stick and they had left 2 out of 4 sensors laying on the header we just had them put on and they were nearly melted. I will not ever be going back to them and I urge you not to go there either. They will break you stuff and try to hide it or blame you for it. They dont know what They are doing. Not worth it at all.

This was the 4th shop I had taken my car to, to resolve an issue with a loud sound coming from the rear driver side wheel. They were able to pinpoint the problem for me - the brakes were scorched and needed to be replaced. Their prices are very reasonable.

After 3 mufflers, and finding out that what the guy said he was putting on my truck was flowmasters. Come to find out they were junk copies. Really cheap made to, very thin walled so they dont last long. If you like spending money on junk . Then this is the place to go.

Meh. Price was sky high for the job. Welds were ugly af, but maybe they were training the guy. Overall I was not super satisfied. Hopefully itll hold up. I wouldnt take another car there, and wouldnt recommend going there.

There was four people ahead of me and they had my car being worked on in an hour and a half, once they had begun working on my car it only took, less than 45 minutes!! Great customer service, friendly and affordable prices, love my exhaust!!

A poor experience doesnt do it justice. Both the owner and the young mechanic have serious anger issues. I had a flat tire fixed that went flat again the next day(and they used my tire plug kit in the car without asking- I was planning on returning that but couldnt once he ripped it open without asking me). I asked for discount or partial refund and they denied. Once I asked why, the son got extremely aggressive, cursing at me and eventually punched the door of my car(mind you as I was driving away). There were a lot of people there to witness this. There are several other community car shops that deserve your money a whole lot more. I hope Kar Kare can see reviews like this constructive and learn how to treat people with respect.
