They always have the organic produce section well stocked, and are open early and late so you can always get what you need. I bought a juicer because their organic apples are always on point! The deli staff are also great, they will fry up special items for you if you request (like Samosas). I just dont like going all the way in the back corner for milk, thats all. Maybe theyll put a small cooler up front for us cow-milk hungry lazy ppl. ;)

Even though the layout of the store is quite a bit different than other Safeway stores Im used to, finding my way around was still really easy. Which made my shopping experience much more enjoyable. I definitely dont like spending more time in the store than I have to. The employees were very friendly as well. Other than the fact that I was overcharged (for some reason I paid full price for a clearly marked sale item) I would have to say it has been the best Safeway store Ive had the pleasure of giving my money to.

Friendly, professional service. They work hard to keep stocked even during CV-19. Willingly help when asked. Always say hello and ask if u need help. They have a mask mandate in place.

Delicious, hot, crispy fried chicken & strips at the deli here are banging good! We look forward to buying some almost every day for lunch here. So good with their little cup of ranch! Safeway is the saving grace comparatively to Walmart here on Kodiak. Much like how the French were a foe to Great Britain (before Napoleon messed up) Safeway puts up a fight of savings and club cards against the expensive menagerie that Walmart has. While strictly groceries are sold here, youll probably get your best shopping here for your everyday food-based needs.Also, why is the rice forbidden?

Visited Safeway store kodiak Alaska, located at 2685 Mill Bay Rd, for a convenient and friendly grocery experience!From bakery and deli, to fresh produce and helpful pharmacy staff, i got covered! bakery features customizable cakes, cupcakes and more while the deli offers a variety of party trays, made to order.At the butcher-block i found an assortment of meat and seafood, even offering sushi in selected locations, while the produce department is full of fresh fruits and veggies galore!

5 dollar Friday is basically the only day you should shop, prices of everything are insanely high, basically, average of 2 dollars a pound, 50 pds of food, 100 bucks, crazy

You have no choice basically in Kodiak. This is a well stocked supermarket. Yet, dont look for a bargain. Everything is at least 3 dollars more than most lower 48. A very efficient and friendly crew.

Nice clean grocery store. Has what you need. Not the largest selection but great for Kodiak. If your moving here expect prices to be about 20-30% higher than the mainland. For Kodiak the prices are good.

Great place to shop for food like related items, and a very big selection of fresh veggies and fruits. But other sections such as clothes, office gear, and electronics are lacking.

Want to say thank you to your Florist in Kodiak (Teresa Manat) for doing an awesome job on the flower I ordered through internet . She’s an exceptional florist she make sure that the recipient will be happy to receive the flower she arranged. My mother was very happy on Mothers Day . I had my brother pick it up cause I live in San Diego California

Helpful quick staff. Sometimes whole shelves are empty but thats to be expected with only one big grocery on the island.

I have been at this store many times in the last four years. The service, facilities, and staff are Outstanding. The building also houses a Starbucks, and a US Post Office.

Best (only) full service grocery store in town. Expensive produce, but we live on an island in Alaska so.... Theres a small collection of vegan and vegetarian food options. Starbucks has a location inside, and there is a deli with hot food and sandwiches, a pharmacy, a bank, and florist. There is also a liquor store and a post office under the same roof.

Nice store, friendly staff. Veggies and fruit are fresh. Only not great thing is often when i go in for a sale item its not on the shelf and is already sold out the next dayafter the beginning of a sale, so not enough stock available per the expected need for a sale. Plus they havent had eggnog half gallons for the past month during thanksgiving and Christmas coming. Other then those things decent selection and nice promotions.

Clean and friendly. Most days well stocked. Not thru any fault of their own, were on an island in Alaska and freight comes twice weekly. Every encounter with staff and departments is friendly and professional.Safeway also supplies bush orders and has 2 lanes dedicated to larger multi cart orders (usually a fishing vessel or bush order). Inside is a Starbucks, a China express and deli, Bakery and an Alaska USA Federal credit Union. Theres dining court to enjoy your snacks or a quick bite. Conveniently located on site is a full service liquor store.

Safeway of Kodiak is truly appreciate for the great products, good savings (just 4U app), and most importantly wonderful employees! The store is clean and generally well stocked (island life).

Pretty much the only game in town. They recently remodeled and have a bulk section, which is nice. The produce employees are always really helpful if you ask for new/better produce!

I come to Kodiak every year for the Crab Festival. My business Is called Alaskan Soda Jerk. We get a lot of things from this store for the event. I am always blown away with how friendly and helpful the staff is. It is such a pleasure to do business with this Safeway. I look forward to seeing the crew again this year!!

Main grocery store! Deli, produce, milk. SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF! Bakery. It is ok because it has recently been reorganised! It is SUPER awesome for all the person to person interaction as well as the employees willingness to help. Great friendly service!

The only major grocery store on the island, but the selection and choices are pretty good. A lot of fresh produce and the hot food bar is pretty affordable.

I bought chicken from the Kodiak safeway. The meat was spoiling and made me very sick! I I was vomitingsoon after thenn had diarrhea for hours the next morning. The store should have a better quality control policy..

Too spencive

The store is usually clean but extremly overpriced, but its the only grocery store on the island unless youre coast guard. It does have a very good selection but the corned beef is TERRIBLE. Avoid that stuff. The staff are indifferent at best, but not rude. It is what it is, because where else are you going to go?

I grew up in the Kodiak islands and rely on Safeway for my Lodge, never once have I had a reason to complain in over 30 years.They keep things very well stocked in the grocery department and the order desk is always a pleasure to deal with.The liquor store does an amazing job of keeping the shelves full and are always happy to talk too and will special order anything they can for you.Doing what they say and service with a smile is hard to find in Kodiak but Safeway is always a pleaser to do business with.Keep up the great work and thanks for keeping Kodiak running smooth!!
