Been wrenching for 15 years of my life I have all the proper shop aid tools, shop tools and scan tools. Cant figure out a car Ive been working on so I take it to them ask them to see if they can figure it out. I made sure I asked them to do a proper diagnostics. All they did was pretty much guess without even testing the Suspected item. They ended up wasting my time and money. I could have did that for free myself. I did lean a valuable lesson out of this. If I cant figure it out a dealership will be no better equipped than myself to figure it out. Doubt Ill ever trust the opinion of a dealership ever again. Thanks for nothing guys

The only trouble that we had was that we were quoted so many different lengths of times that it was going to take to do the job. We ended up with two cars down in la Crosse because we are quoted one time 45 minutes another time an hour and a half to 2 hours after leaving the car we were told between an hour and an hour and a half. They called us with the car done after 55 minutes. With that short of time we would have stayed with one car having to come down to La cross.

An amazing experience! I was just setting out on a cross-country drive when my check engine light popped up, along with some unsettling noises, while on the highway. I drove straight to Dahl. Within 10 minutes a mechanic was looking at my car at the Express Service. Seth in the service department made sure I was well taken care of. Within 30 minutes I knew the status of my car, I was assured the car was safe to continue driving, and even given information about the potential cause of the problem to investigate further when I reach my destination. A fantastic experience with truly outstanding customer service and honesty. I highly recommend for all your Subaru needs!

Was lied to and gaslit repeatedly. Will not be returning to this dealership/service center as they have proven themselves untrustworthy.Update: its been three weeks since Dahl worked on my car and the battery died. Went to replace it and the terminals are covered in corrosion, which is something I paid Dahl to take care of and they didnt, leaving me stranded with a dead battery. I also highly doubt that they even checked the battery when they serviced my vehicle, even though the performance was marked good on the vehicle report card. I stand by what I wrote earlier and Im glad to see other people are coming out with the truth about this company. Seems Im not the only one whos had these kinds of issues.What other services have I paid them for that they didnt do? Guess I just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best...

Moving this review to the proper place, as it was listed for the Hydai building.Found a great buy in 2018, but, good Lord, it took THREE AND A HALF HOURS. What did we do in this time? Everything is done the old way - faxes, hard copies, etc. AND constantly having extras/ accessories shoved in our faces. (Even when sales turns you over to finance). I think my wife and I said no 10 times for each additional feature offered; our budget was our budget and dont think they quite understood that. The oldest sales trick in the book.Moreover, we found that the timing belt was installed incorrectly and almost bricked our engine. Because we didnt trust Dahl to do the right thing, we preferred to take care of it ourselves rather than go back to this absolute trap of a dealer.Could not have had a worse customer experience.

DO NOT take your car here. I have had 2 Subarus worked on here (a dealer) and have had serous issues with multiple services on both cars (i.e. shotty work, redos needed, etc.). They offer sleazy rip-off service behind the veil of a dealer. I am considering calling DATCP. I had them do the 100k overhaul on a subaru (including timing belt) and was charged handsomely for it. 30K later the timing belt broke and totaled my engine. The mechanic I took it to at that time said that the timing belt was the original and had never been replaced. Also, I had new tires put on my car just before a scheduled service. At that time, they told me that my brand new tires were worn and needed replacing, oh and it just so happened that they were having a tire sale. what a coincidence! I had my front brakes and rotors replaced on my new-used Subaru for a cool $600 only to find them making noise 20K later. I took the car into a different Subaru dealer (since i am never going back to Dahl and hope no one else does either) and was informed that the brakes had been installed incorrectly and were all effed up... Sadly, this place is taking advantage of folks living in a rural area with limited other options for car dealers. How do you sleep at night Dahl? Oh yeah, on a pile of poor peoples hard-earned money.

I’ve dealt with a lot of dealers and salespeople as the de facto negotiator for friends and family.Dahl Subaru was very easy to work with. I asked them to match a price at 8AM and had purchased the car the next day at 530PM.Sales and finance office did not apply pressure and the deal was quick and honest. Service department seemed very competent as I pulled up to get air in one of the tires.

In the last 5 years I have purchased 3 brand new Subarus (one for myself and two for my children) at Dahl. I recently had issues with my car and due to high mileage I decided to not repair and just buy new again. I arranged with my salesperson (who was great) to have Dahl buy back my car so I could take a month or so to research the new Ascent, or maybe try a Mazda, as well as align my financial options. I arrived at my scheduled time to return my loaner, pick up my check and clean out my car. My salesperson was off that day and told me to ask for the Sales Manager Tony, which I did. Tony promptly told me they would NOT be buying back the car. I explained that his salesperson already made the deal and he said the salesperson was not able to authorize that. He then smugly replied... if he personally wants to buy your car, then he can, but Dahl wont be doing this deal. I asked him how a customer should know if a deal is a deal with Dahl and that I had the texts to show there was no doubt. He just shrugged. Eventually after reminding him of my purchases, my intent to buy my 4th brand new car in 5 years and getting pretty loud in the lobby, he relented and kept their word. Sadly, I felt like he thought I was someone with an old, high mileage Subaru, not worth his time. After the condescending attitude and the feeling I have of not trusting their word on a deal, I will not go back to Dahl again.Update: Ryan reached out. We had a great discussion regarding the issue. The extra effort was appreciated.

Bought a car here last year and the engine burnt out less then a month later. They did me a favor and traded it out for a new used car. Lied to me about an issue I noticed on the test drive, now a year later I find out theres a recall on the transmission. Nissan would have fixed it for free when I bought it but the dealership was too lazy to do it I guess.Now I have to pay 3,000 to fix something they could have done for free but lied about.Do not buy a car from here. You will absolutely regret it.

Dahl Subaru employees are always on point with customer service. Complimentary snacks and drinks, playroom for the kids while you wait even a play area for your pet. If thats not enough, they also have a complimentary shuttle service to drop you off and pick you if you wish. Dahl Subaru definitely goes the extra mile for its customers.

Jeff, Tony, Ashley and Nate were all fantastic! I came in looking for a great car on a low budget and they didnt disappoint. I got just about everything I was looking for while staying within my budget. No one tried try to push anything extra and they all made sure to answer every question, silly or not. Being located almost two hours away I wasnt able to make it back until right before closing and they never once groaned about having to stay late to make sure all the paperwork was taken care of and was I comfortable in my new car. I would say it was definitely worth the tip to get my 2018 Sonata and I will definitely keep them in mind the next time I look to upgrade!

I took my 14 Forester XT in for a diagnosis of the rear coil spring as directed by Subaru of North America, as the coil spring had snapped while driving on the highway. From the moment I called in, Jake was reassuring and extremely professional. Subaru of N.A. was only going to cover one of the rear coil springs, but Jake and Dahl went above that and replaced both at no cost to me. They provided me a loaner and even overnighted the parts so I would have my own vehicle back in time to travel for the holidays. I’m extremely impressed with the customer service I received and would highly recommend anyone considering a new Subaru to check them out.

I bought a new 2019 Ascent from Dahl in May 2019 and have been extremely happy with the vehicle and the dealership sales and service ever since. This is my first Subaru but will not be my last if the quality and performance of both the vehicle and the dealership continue as they have so far.The many safety and driver assist systems in the Ascent take some time to understand but have already saved me from a few dings. It pulls (and stops) my no-brakes, 18 ft boat & trailer effortlessly. Plenty of power.As a retired engineer and former non-automotive business owner myself, and reading some of the other, more negative reviews here, it must be tough to be in the car business these days!Excellent vehicle and excellent (but probably not perfect) dealership.

Everyone is very nice but setting appointment a challenge. Miss talking to real people. At least do online chat because 50 character text is insufficient. Could not find car problem but expect it to crop back up. Bummer because I already missed whole day of work for this problem that didnt show up on diagnostics. Great lobby with coffee. Again, nice staff, no complaint there. Automation phone and text is what drops this two stars for me.

When I took my car in for a recall. They gave my car back and forgot to put the hoseclamp on the bottom radiator hose and the hose fell off and let all the radiator fluid drain. Luckily I only went to the gas station and back. My car would be done for if I was on the highway. And they would have said it wasnt there fault. And id be out of a car. Be careful getting your car fixed here.

I worked with Kyle to purchase my 2016 certified Subaru Crosstrek. Kyle was quick to return my calls and gave me all the details I needed to make the 3+ hour drive to purchase the vehicle. Kyle explained additional sales options available, but did not pressure me. He was respectful of my time and budget. Within 1-1.5 hours I took the car for a test drive and completed the purchase. When making a car purchase in the future I would make the effort to work with Dahl and Kyle again. Very happy with the customer service, selection of vehicles and with my new (used) Crosstrek.

My experience with them has been frustrating. Its large dollar amounts everytime I visit with them. They dont seem willing to work with you on price or anything. With just 130K miles on my 2011 Subaru, they recommended that I get multiple maintenance items done (timing belt, transmission fluid replacement, etc.) at nearly $3K. Two months later the head gasket blew. They were happy to do a head gasket replacement and then have the engine tested and either instal a rebuilt engine or take the chances and just do the head gasket. Anyway, I had the engine work done elsewhere because they charge so flippin much. More recently the car was in for the endless replacement of low beam headlight (recall/warranty work). Andy they want $400 becuase something is broken in there. They dont budge, its professional, but everythings is going to be charged, theres doesnt seem to be any room for leeway in price.

Lied to by sales about towing capacity of Subaru Outback. I asked directly about towing capacity and was told 2500 lbs. After buying the Outback I was towing a boat approximately 2200 lbs and was not able to stop as boat and trailer pushed the Outback downhill several feet. I read the Owners Manual and read that the Outback towing capacity was 1000 lbs for a trailer without breaks. I returned the Outback and was lied to a second time by the sales manager as to my refund amount. I will never buy from this dealer again. Beware of Outback towing capacity as listed as 2500 lbs is misleading. The towing capacity is only 1000 for a trailer without breaks.

The Subaru is a wonderful car but...my experience is the same as Patrick M. Unnecessary service recommendations. Last time there, was recommended to change front and rear differential gear oil. The service representative said it couldn’t be inspected, as recommended by Subaru. The total for that day’s “maintenance” was going to amount to $450.00. When asked about this, manager said it’s “Dahl’s service recommendation.” Interesting to discover that Dahl service recommendations are made ahead of Subaru’s mileage recommendations. Realized this is true for oil changes as well. Check Subaru’s manual for scheduled maintenance!

Terrible service this time. The place has changed in a year.Took 3.5 hours for an oil change, coolant flush and tire rotation. Also asked them to re-attach a plastic shield under the front end.Halfway through I got a call from service saying there were a number of service recommendation and did i want to procceed. The first three would have cost about $500. The recommended service sheet i was given when leaving had $1300 of recommended service. Glad I didnt say go ahead.The last half hour in the waiting room I noticed the service folks kept coming out to different patrons saying they needed this or that service and did they want to get it done now? Cheapest was 35 bucks for the cabin air filter. Most items were over 100 dollars.When we finally got the car back they hadnt re-attached the sheild. They told my wife that the tech had seen it was out of place but didnt know if he should snap it in place.It is very disappointing given how good their service had been in the past.You have my number you can call me if you want more information.3 weeks no call. This is disappointing considering how good Dahl service used to be. Didnt you used to practice servant leadership?

Trying to buy a vehicle twice from Dahl Subaru.Both times Toyota of Lacrosse beat them by $2,500. I bought a Subaru Outback from Toyota because they beat him by $2,500 on a nice used Subaru with 13000 miles. At my first appointment for oil change at Subaru in La Crosse Wisconsin. Now theres two big spots of oil in my garage ruining the floor, leaking all over. So far I am disappointed with their service. I will be taking my vehicle in tomorrow to have them look at the leak that they caused during the oil change.

DO NOT TRUST THEM. I bought a certified pre-owned 2014 Subaru forester with a full warranty including the add on warranties through Dahl which covered my tires. The very first oil change I went in for at the dealership, they notified me that my tires were wearing very unevenly, and I needed them realigned along with new tires due to the misalignment. I was also informed that my battery voltage was low and would need to be replaced. Not only was I informed that my warranties would not cover this, but they then proceeded to try to sell me on buying a new set of tires and new battery from them which would then be covered. This was four months after I purchased my vehicle. I feel completely ripped off and it makes me doubt the rest of their apparently bogus 152-point inspection. They knew it was my first vehicle purchase and therefore took advantage of me at every point they could. Never again, will I ever spend another dime there.

The sales prevention tactics at Dahl Subaru are exceptional!!I entered the dealership with my partner, mother-in-law and father-in-law to look at a WRX for my father-in-law. We were greeted promptly and asked to wait to speak to someone in sales. It took 5-10 minutes to have someone come to speak to us. Mind you, there was 1 other customer there on the sales floor on a Saturday afternoon.When we were greeted, the guy clearly didn’t know much about the WRX and we later found out worked for Mazda next door. On a Saturday afternoon, that again shocked me.We asked to drive the WRX and were told that the dealer had to go with and one of the 4 of us would have to stay behind. As a person who buys cars frequently and handles car buying for many friends and family members, I found this to be incredibly rude. We agreed for one person to stay behind and went on our drive.At this point, we were told that we could only go on a short test drive, about a mile and a half long, and didn’t get the car out of 4th gear. My father in law was NOT impressed at the idea of trying to buy a car, yet not being able to take it on a freeway or being able to get out of 4th gear.While on the drive, we asked questions about the car, but since the dealer was from Mazda, he didn’t know the answers and I had to look them up on my phone.When we got back to the dealership, I proceeded to answer questions for my father in law that the dealer didn’t know. The dealer seemed relieved that I knew something since he didn’t.We asked to go in and see pricing for 2 different cars they had on the lot. While we were working through this, my partner, who was furious went to talk to the manager about the experience. The manager proceeded to say, we have to make sure that our cars aren’t beat on so we limit the drives. My partner proceeded to explain that the fact that his father was in looking at a car was a very big deal. The manager looked at my father in law and said, oh, he was driving it? He acted as if since my father in law was older than him, he would drive the car any different than my partner or myself. He said, well he can take a longer drive if he wants, but we just can’t have the car being redlined. I found this incredibly rude. It wasn’t like we were some punk kids off the street trying to go for a joy ride. We are 30, 39, and 55+.Based on this experience, we will not be bringing our business to ANY Dahl dealership. We will go to the Twin Cities to buy a car, just as we did with my mother in laws recent purchase of a 2018 Subaru Forester. Our experience was night and day different.
