So far not a great experience. Reserved a unit today on their website which was a mistake. I should of drove down there and done it in person. Then I would of seen that the gate code and building code keypad both are offline so I cant access the unit that I just rented. At 2PM on a Thursday there was no one in the office and a sign on the door said they werent returning until 9:30 tomorrow, so I called the Public Storage number. They told me a tech would be out there later today to fix the keypad. I went back there at 8:45 tonight (15 minutes before closing) and the gate code still doesnt work. The keypad is still offline. I wish I would of known this before I rented a unit because I would of rented somewhere else where I could actually access the unit that I rented. I should of known the price was too good to be true. The whole point of renting a storage unit was to move out of my house this weekend. Who knows when the keypad will get fixed. Pretty lame if you ask me. Hopefully I can call Public Storage tomorrow and see if theres a way to get out of the contract and go elsewhere. I would recommend going to this location first before you sign up to rent.

If I could leave no stars, I would. Renters beware: when you reserve a unit, they are supposed to be kind and courteous so they can reel you in to rent a unit for your things, but when it comes to filing a report or moving out its like no one works there. Scheduled a move out date and received a confirmation email but no one was there to assist. Call customer service and they couldnt get a hold of the district manager.Thats just the least of my problems. I rented a CLIMATE CONTROLLED UNIT and my things were SOAKED. When I tried to file a report, I was transferred from one person to the next until someone told me I was supposed to contact the insurance company and they had nothing to do with that process. The district manager then called me to assist but when I went to grab a few of my things, the DM was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND.The insurance company contacted me about the issue and asked me to ITEMIZE THE THINGS THAT WERE DAMAGED and to ESTIMATE A COST. Mind you these are sentimental value that I WILL NEVER get back. I told them the cost to reimburse me and they said the items listed and images didnt seem to be damaged nor cost that much. Shows how much PUBLIC STORAGE cares about your things.Never again.

Was stuck inside because gate was offline. Called customer service, on hold ten minutes, noone answered. You are forced to download their app to gain access because the code they give you doesnt work. You are forced to buy renters insurance whether u want it or not or you pay them $14 a month for it.

I needed a long term rental because my house of 47 years needed a COMPLETE renovation. I was offered a great move-in deal and monthly charge and pre-paid for a year. The manager quit but left a wonderful lady named Charlotte to deal with me. She was ALWAYS there for me to provide knowledge and offer solutions. She maintained the property to the best of her ability and will ensure the COVID-19 cleanings are up to company standards. Ive witnessed her picking up trash, cleaning the buildings, spraying and wiping the carts and elevator, and speaking to everyone present on each of my visits. Charlotte is a blessing to Public Storage!

The price is attractive, but as the saying goes, “you get what you pay for”. The initial service seems fine but mostly because the rate is far lower than the competitors. That’s only temporary. The price will start to increase periodically with no legitimate explanation. My reason for the one star review is because my enclosed trailer was stolen from the Ladson road site. The gate has been broken since November. That’s almost three full months of this property being open to all elements of the public. My trailer was stolen at 2:40am. The site has lots of cameras however about 13 days had elapsed before any notification. The company called anytime my trailer was gone for more than a few days but only to see if they could rent my spot to someone else. It seems odd that this time it was 13 days before they noticed it was gone. At the very least the gate should have been manually secured after hours or some sort of measures taken to secure their customers items. The gate is still not operable, so if you’re a future or current customer, I would look elsewhere.

UPDATE: I am updating my below review, the district manager got in touch with me and resolved some of my issues and hopefully going forward if I call with any issues or questions someone will return my calls. Thank you for addressing and correcting the problem...................... I rented a unit for a discounted price and after only 3 and a half months they raised the rent more than double! I called left a message for someone to call me and explain why my rent went up so much and have not gotten a call, I had no choice but to pay it because they will lock down your storage if you are late but its very unprofessional not to return a call and ridiculous to more than double the rent! I could understand a few bucks but a 53 dollar jump in rent during these times are inconsiderate! Guess I need to find a different storage facility!

I used Public Storage for several months and just removed my belongings yesterday. I only needed temporary storage while I was in the process of moving and the staff at this location are amazing! I was extremely impressed that I was contacted within 24hrs after booking my storage unit online. I dont remember exactly who I spoke with but they were able to answer all my questions. The location is in a great location to Charleston Southern University and by far cheaper than other facilities in and around the area. Tonya was very accommodating with our move in time and being available throughout the day seeing that we live 800+ miles away and were driving down to move stuff into storage. Upon arrival Tonya was extremely friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed and all our questions were answered!! I would highly recommend this facility!!!!

I recently needed some extra space and public storage made it fast and easy at a low rate. It only took a couple of minutes to reserve a unit online. When I got there late as usual the staff helped me patiently and quickly! Id recommend public storage!

Dawn was very thorough and helpful. She showed me the available space which was clean as expected it to be and then clearly explained the terms and requirements for leasing the space. I felt comfortable signing the companys agreements and leased the unit.

Steve is one of the coolest managers we have met. When ever we had an issue hes was right on it. He kept the place clean and friendly. Steve always goes above and beyond.

The gentleman (Steve?) who works there is excellent: efficient, concise, and professional. Excellent deal/monthly prices when I happen to get my storage unit. I gave this place four stars instead of 5 because while the property is pretty good and has a solid location, its a little tricky to get to. Also, I am skeptical with regard to how temperature controlled it truly is, and the area where my unit is seems a little grimy. But these are pretty minor things, some of which is to be expected, and other things are unavoidable. Overall, I definitely recommend this location.

This is by far the BEST storage area weve ever used. The process could not have been any easier and Steven was so helpful throughout the process. I actually called Marcia at the Summerville location who was also excellent. She referred me here because they had the vehicle storage I needed. The price is competitive and the staff are great.

Not only did we get the unit but we were able to get it at the price we saw and get a second unit free. Happy to store all my furniture and items here for while we wait on our house being built.She really went the extra mile to lock in our online rate which saved us a great deal of money.Edit:Do Not rent here. They will raise your price dramatically. Moved in 5/18. Paid 150, in 6 months it went up to 185. 1 year later its 233... They never run air in climate controlled units. I found the staff at Public Storage to be courteous and professional. I received a courtesy call to let me know what day my bill was due. The manager only called me because the day that I rented my storage locker I told her I had only planned on using it for three weeks. I was surprised she remembered the staff is caring an attentive. I would strongly recommend Public Storage in Ladson for any of your storage needs. Carla was extremely helpful.

Keri T was spot on in her review below. The people that work at this facility are wonderful and as accommodating as they can be considering. Their prices are less than most competitors, but you also get what you pay for. I have rented from this facility for 3 years now and the property has been going downhill in a major way. Main Gate is open 8 out of 10 times Im there. The climate controlled building is needing major cleaning and repairs. The sliding doors have been broken for over a year. The elevator has been down at least 5 times (most of which after I was recovering from surgery and couldnt walk stairs or carry anything over 5-10 pounds). Carts go missing often. I understand this is a storage facility but that doesnt mean it doesnt need to be cleaned, floors swept and mopped, pest control, etc. It is smelly too. I started out paying $85 a month and am now paying $135 for a 3rd floor 10x10 climate controlled unit. New storage facilities are in abundance in the tri-county area. They need to get with the program. I will be moving ASAP even if it means getting a smaller unit.

My Cataylic Converter was stolen off my car. They dont check your cars at all. Will never use them and they are not responsible for anything that happens.
