Well stocked, clean. Although maybe more cashiers during busier times would be better.

One of the biggest grocery stores in town. I like it over other payless stores because of the variety and quality.

Horrible service at the deli. First you dont let us buy the choices the of fried chicken we want. You force a pre-selected choice whether thats what the customer wants or not. Then you put the fried chicken in the cheapest containers possible where the food just drop through the bottom, lands on the ground and is wasted. Could you possibly give WORSE service???

I want to give Debbie a shout out for her great customer service. On 3/18 I went to buy Nabisco cookies for the kids. The sale was to buy four to pay .99 ea. Its a great deal had I grabbed four. Instead I grabbed a Kroger bag, and that voided the special price. The next day I went in and Deb was on duty. I told her my story and the first thing she said was, Let me see what will be the easiest way to do this. She figured it out. She gave me the discount and the difference. I see her all the time, but on this day I got to meet her and shes a neat person as well as awesome at her job. I hope shes recognized for her great customer service!

The doughnuts are creamy and the produce section is like hevan descended down to earth and gave us a kiss on the cheek

None of the employees know where to find the groceries Im looking for, and they would even point me to the wrong items.

I ordered a full size veteran theme cake for a party today. When I called to ordered I was super excited for this lady, she seemed to happy and excited. So I was thrilled and happy to see the cake. Day of me getting the cake I walk up to the bakery and the vibe was negative. 2 people were cussing n slamming stuff not sure why. I eventually found someone else n got the cake. The cake was not that good. Sloppy writing, border icing was sloppy and you can tell they didnt take much time to really get into it. I was very disappointed. Honestly will not buy a cake there ever again.

I swear theres something going on in the Corporation not the local store [ why I can find better food quality in high income areas] this isnt even expired clearly rotten all over idk if the big place wont budget upgrades or pushed lower end down hill and i have found many items rotten before the expired date for real slow down check your stuff

I am very disappointed in the service at this store today! My wife was just in the lunch meat section and asked a lady if you guys carried an item that would be in that area. The employee responded with I dont have any idea and you need to go over there and see. I still remember a time when customer service required any employee on the premises to be of assistance to their customers. And if the employee doesnt know the answer they assist the customer by finding a fellow employee that does. But I guess this is how you guys treat your customers. My wife felt like the employee was rude and didnt care to be helpful at all! My wife is a great person and should never have to feel this way after asking for assistance from your employees! Again I am extremely disappointed in your stores customer service. Have a great day.

Im new here in lafayette,and I must say there workers are rude they come out with carts and dont stop and right out in front of you,the produce section seem dirty the counter arent wipe off when empty and a lot of empty counters,the meat is small the littlest steaks I have ever seen and no t-bone,and the lady at stuff check out stands over u and u feel like you are being watched

You know. I really need to start driving the extra few miles to west lafayette...I get some groceries for me ex and my place because he cant shop because they are being tested for covid.The cashier tells me I cant buy us both tp on the same transaction, ok no problem ill buy his on another, he cant leave, he has my son whos been tested for covid. She walks away and walks back as im paying for the 2nd pack of tp and tells me I cant buy it at all. Then goes to remove the paper towels Ive already purchased from my cart after I drop the tp on the ground to leave.I am throughly unimpressed by the lack of compassion shown by the staff at this location! I am stressed enough that my special needs child is being tested for covid and they treat me like that for trying to do something to help my ex while he is quarantined. This isnt the first problem Ive had at this location but it will be the last

It almosts seems like these managers dont care about their employees.. one person was diagnosed with the covid and everyone that was exposed end up having to work. or they loose their job. cant have mental issues because they cant hire the people needed to do the job. not only that the store manager seems to be a homophobic bigot. this store is going down and soon will shut down. hopefully.

Good quality. Good prices. Even tho it was peak time and somewhat crowded I was able to get done with my shopping and out in a few minutes. I use the self check out lane and the employee who assisted me was very kind and helpful.I am pleased with this store all around.

Love their store brand items! Especially their diet soda! Good variety and great flavors. Gas rewards is an awesome positive too. Store is clean, well organized and staff is super friendly. They have a self check out too which I love going to when I have a bunch of quarters and Im going to pick up a few items.

Well, I would typically give my store a 5 star rating, however Ive noticed a few things that I believe need addressed in reference to COVID-19 as far as some of the precautions being taken (or not being taken rather). While I think its great that the social distancing is posted for reminding, that carts are being sanitized & wiped down & employees are wearing masks, I have found a few things that have been overlooked... The pharmacy (where most sick persons pick up scripts) ask you to sign the slips for check out, however they give you a pen to sign with that I have No Clue how many hundreds of people before me have touched, I rarely see the screens at the self checkout being cleaned, which are touchscreen as well as pin pads, be it customer service, the checkout lines or the pharmacy being cleaned either! I dont see hand sanitizer being offered in substitute of this either. So, I think that someone should reevaluate the precautions that are & ARE NOT being taken at this store. Sorry Payless, but I think you can do better!

Best grocery in Lafayette. I left a 25.00 Birthday cake on bottom of cart while loading three years ago. Went back immediately . Was gone of course. Took receipt into Mgr.I was escourted back to Cakes and allowed to get another same price cake.To replace lost cake. I was So appreciative.They go above and beyondTo keep their Loyal Customers.

Went yesterday to get essentials and was very disappointed again. No stock like it has been for 3 weeks. But the most disappointment was a lack of safety for customer. There was no disinfectant for carts, no social distance from the staff, no mask for protection being worn by staff. When I made a comment at checkout to staff member about my disappointments of following mandated protocols, the security guard (a police officer) took offence of my overheard conversation. He started ranting about all safety was not needed. With his past of 3 tours in Afghanistan, and a 97% recovery rate he was smarter than others. Very defensive, a big disgrace to the uniform. Payless needs to step it up! Been shopping at payless for 50 years but no more.

Always busy on a Sunday. Clean store. I needed help in the bakery and she was happy to help me. I was in the self check out and it kept doing stuff to call the person over to the point it got funny,but all was well. Go there occasionally as its not close to my house.

As always good. But you should have the cashier clean the belts off more. I didnt want to set my produce down on eat appeared to be meat blood. I got some on my hand so wipes at the checkouts would be so great.

They have very nice vegetable, deli and bakery departments, seafood and meat counters and the floral department also has a nice selection. There is a good selection in all of the other areas as well. I shop here often and with their Payless card you can save a little money too on select items. The Pharmacy is also very good although the wait time is sometimes a little long.

Payless is neat, clean and organized. They have a helpful and friendly staff. They carry a variety of quality products

I always try to use u-scan it hit or miss on it going smoothly. This is the only place I buy my meat. Usually have what I need. Clean store for the most part. Deli guy very nice. Deli food looked fresh. People in pharmacy are very rude so I avoid using it.

Pleasant and pleasant checkers, and baggers. Some of the foods placed to high to reach for people with disabled problems. I need to use a cane to help get products off of the shelves. Might also get more electric carts there is a need for extras at times. Some people have a hard time standing waiting for a cart to be made available.

My husband & myself visit this store daily. I love the variety and prices, but I think its sad when you go to a store and always have to use self check out, especially when your purchasing a weeks worth of groceries. I feel I must do self check out to avoid the attitudes of some of the cashiers.Even after multiple complaints in person to various managers these certain cashiers leave me feeling frustrated once they have checked me out, the attitudes range from their friendliness to their body language. I work in CS myself so I know what we should expect from CSR AT EVEN THE MINIMAL.Other than this issue, I cant complain.

I dont shop here too often. Its just too expensive. It can be good if your shopping for specific things that are discounted, but whenever I have done all my grocery shopping for the week here instead of WalMart I spend more money on less stuff.They do have more variety in grocery products though which can be nice if youre looking for more choices.

This store is not enforcing its own mask policy. So if you have health concerns avoid this store at all cost.

They have a good assortment of items, priced moderately, in a decent location. Usually has a few items you dont see everywhere else. Can have some pretty sweet deals....

They can lower their price a lot. We would love to see the be a department store and grocery and sell everything. Every real fruit. Every real vegetable. Everything line of clothing. Everything.

Good price and good selection, but the new antitheft carts suck. About half the time the wheel locks up after I pay and someone has to come check my receipt. I understand the concept and if they worked it would be great, but as they are, its just a hassle.

Well, there is construction going on the other side of the street; making it a one-way. Other than that, Hometown Hospitality has not changed. I like the layout of their store. If all their stores kinda matched, it would be nice though...

I normally shop at Payless by the mall. I was pleasantly surprised by the smiling, helpful associates. They asked me if I needed help and seemed to be having fun at work but still paying attention to the customer. My cashier Tony was very friendly and Kaylynn was too.

Always a good experience with variety of groceries but you need a little more help. Had to sack own groceries and no shopping carts available.

Ok, they always have great sales. The store is always clean with a good smell throughout. They keep the selves stocked, so you dont have to get a raincheck, and the cashiers are always friendly and helpful.

My preferred Pay Less! There are two in town that are closer to where I live, but it is worth it to drive to the Greenbush location. Wider aisles, clean, better set up, super friendly staff, and politer clientele.

Good sales every week and there quality of meats is real good not to mention the gas station right out side I can take care of two things with one stop..Here lately been finding that a lot of produce thats spoiled hope you guys get this figured out soon or Ill be shopping else where.

Its has a great selection of organic products, but not many organic brands to choose from. There are a lot of flies in the onion/potato area, so I suggest you go elsewhere for those items.

I just uesed their new handheld scanners to buy groceries. Easier than going through self check or waiting in line. The system is new so be patient, after you get set up (if you dont have a Payless card, or need to update info.) its a breeze

This store has friendly staff. I like that it has wide aisles, and that the store is clean. Love to find the clearance mark downs on a daily basis..

I want to say thank you to the angels at the grocery store. While grocery shopping my sugar started dropping and I had no signs.except for I was really thirsty. So as we got ready to check out I collapsed all i could get out was my sugar dropped. Two of the managers Chad and Deena saw me collapse and heard me say sugar and they came to my side just as i went to the floor. they gave me a candy bar and donuts and orange juice. and stayed with me till my sugar went back up. There truly are still people in this world that care.

This is generally a good store. There are lots of good deals, especially through their digital coupons on the app/website! We use the ClickList service for our weekly shopping and have been very satisfied! On the occasions that I havent used the ClickList service, my one complaint is that the staff are generally a bit rude/unclean (e.g., smoking right outside the entrance while still in their uniforms). Otherwise, this is a great store with great deals!

Never enough checkouts open. More self serve than regular checkouts. Last 4 times i went there had to go out into parking lot to get my own cart to shop, none in the store.

Has a wide variety of fresh, frozen, canned & boxed goods. Handicapped carts, and help is available. If it were not for this since it is so large, handicapped would find it difficult to shop.

Was a very well laid out and open feeling floor plan. Had a very customer friendly staff as well

When you first approach the building you will encounter your first obstacle, weaving through the carts in the parking lot. Then your next trial is getting passed the online order pickers. The pickers take up the whole isle and most of them wear headphones so they cant even hear you when you say, excuse me. Then you have the cashiers that just doing your food down to the baggers. Lastly, dont even go into the restrooms, hold it...

I think since they are the only grocery store left in town their quality and quantity have gone down. I use thier refillable water bottles. Got up the next morning to fix coffee and it looked like I had filled the bottle from the Wabash. No refund without a receipt. May have been my last time to Payless.
