I worked here when the ownership changed. The new owner doesn’t care about his employees and can’t pay anyone enough to care about their job, so naturally things have gone down hill. He had a good staff and wasted the chance to maintain the Oades reputation. They still have a great selection, but can’t seem to keep the store stocked & customer service has suffered.

Oades oades oades... used to be the best, not just in the Lansing area but going out a good 50 miles. Hell they ordered me a couple Sam Adams Utopia beers in past years. Weve had many great years. Lately its not the same.Good selection, no longer great. High prices, no longer a little high. And the last couple times Ive been its not the same feeling. I used to be able to go to the counter and say what I wanted and it was grabbed for me... now Ive got to lead the clerk around, no more hey if you like that double wood maybe try this...

I forget my mask from time to time while working. I bounce around different vehicles when working etc (I work automotive). I visit this location often (Old Oades). Had a staff member here throw a huge fit about me asking for a mask and begin to tell me how I shouldnt have forgot a mask and its been over a year with the mask thing. Let me mention to you they offer them for free for this reason exactly and likely the staff member didnt buy them. Guess Ill walk the extra 10ft and goto admiral instead from now on.

They refuse to take bake bottles they sell and return deposit money in violation of Michigan law.

I am a firm believer on supporting local businesses...specially right now during the pandemic..... but Oades big ten party store customer service has gone down since the new owners took over...sad to say but time to look for a new liquor store that wants my cash...

This review is for the OKEMOS LOCATION. Stopped in and asked for some specialty bourbons. He said the staff gets first pick and that its a perk of the job so youre probably not going to find any. He also added we dont like to see just anyone get them. I asked if I could reserve a bottle since others stores I have shopped at will do so. He said maybe if you were best friends with someone who works here but I dont know you so..... sorry. Horrible customer service and store policies. I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

The best store Ive been to here. Huge selections of beer, cider, and liquor. Many options to build your own 6 pack. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Love the music they have playing. Will return.

So helpful. Staff makes you feel welcome, even if you are just there for a soda because the admiral nextdoor has a tiny selection. Insane variety too!!! They have whatever you need from tons of different kinds of ginger beer to alcohol

These guys have a great beer selection. Great liquor selection. They priced their items fair. And theyre fun to work with.

This place is the best. Trying to buy Goslings Red Seal Rum to make Dark & Stormys and they actually stock it! Only one store in all of Metro Detroit has it and its in Dearborn. Thank you Oades!
