Really a neat ambience here......a little run down on the outside, but nice atmosphere. They serve dine-in in ceramic mugs. They dont offer pour-over or Aeropress like they used to. The drip Burundi coffee I had was good though along with the cappuccino my wife ordered
They have delicious and sweet espresso; I recommend the cafe latte.
Great coffee flavor. Good service a little too long for the food to come out but the breakfast burritos are delicious 😋
Atmosphere was appealing and appeared to be centered around a worldly bohemian vibe. Workers were friendly. The only reason I came though is because I received a gift card. I still have some money left on it and am looking to give it away if that tells you anything. The first time I used it I ordered a oolong tea and a small lavendar/lemon muffin. The tea tasted like water and the muffin was super tiny. Both were over priced. (I attached a pic of the tea)The second time I came in I ordered a iced mocha late and a breakfast burrito (eggs and pinto beans). I love coffee but it was way too bitter and only I finished half of it. The burrito had pre-made eggs in it. All they did was put it on a griddle to press and slightly warm it. No flavor and was watery inside. The salsa was supposed to be on the side and wasnt. Worker brought it after receiving food. Without the salsa there would have been no flavor. There was no extra menus so we had to stand at the counter to order and couldnt understand really anything on the menu. When I ordered the coffee I asked the worker what she would recommend and she really didnt have a suggestion but told us what she was drinking. We ordered what she was drinking. It sounded good but was not what was expected. I dont know if it was the food or coffee or the combination of both but I had to rush home afterwards because my tummy was upset. There was only forks so I was forced to pick up the burrito with my hands and made a huge mess because it was watery.I hate leaving bad reviews but wanted to let others know of my experience. I will not be back and honestly dont even feel like giving my gift card away because I dont want others to experience what I did.On side note I did think it was cool to have a flower shop next door. Like the small town vibe just wouldnt go to the coffee shop again.
The mint green tea was a refreshing beverage!
Good atmosphere. But should’ve ordered a coffee instead of a tea.
Cool coffee shop
To be honest, I was a bit worried what Id find inside when we pulled up to this place. Its very bland outside, with its gravel parking lot and beige paint... I almost missed its sign and its painted in yellow, nearly blending in with the wall behind. It made me wonder if we even had the right place. However, when we stepped inside, there was a beautiful old stairway leading you up to a bright, sunlit loft-styled area, filled with an eclectic array tables and chairs and nicely, yet minimally, decorated. The coffee was wonderful and rich. Perfect for a cold day. I didnt try any of the food, but what I saw served, looked fresh and very appealing! There was an open deck for warm weather gatherings and it appeared that Decade didnt just sell coffees and teas, but adult beverages as well. Might be a nice neighborhood place to visit in the evening.
Too hipster for wall outlets?Definitely would recommend but make sure you take all your devices charged up.I would have left five stars because the service, coffee, and environment is pretty dank. The only problem was I couldnt find a single plugin.
One of the best spots in Ltown! Great, sharp staff. Amazing drink and food selection. Never fails to surprise me with something amazing I’ve never tried.
One of my favorite cafes in town. Lots of great espresso based drinks and good food. Only two complaints is that the food is a little bit expensive for how much you actually get, and the fact that there are virtually no outlets for charging laptops. Make sure you have a full battery if you’re coming here to work!
Decade has such great drinks, atmosphere, and the bartenders/baristas are even better! Great place to meet friends, take a date, or just generally engage. One of our favorite Lawrence stops!
I love the atmosphere here. Its very simple and clean. They make their own cashew milk, and the lattes are delicious. Very mellow vibe. Perfect to hang out here.
Just a lovely little coffee shop right next to a lovely little plant place. Just enjoyable and wholesome. Perfect
So the parking lot is the entrance to a printing press facility with big trucks in and out. The building and surroundings look like a dump. The building looks like its about to fall down. And the outside area is surrounded by well trash and a half demoed building in the back. The prices suggest something more than it could ever be. Not worth the time.
Super amazing g+t! also love the inclusive bathroom. very welcoming and clean atmosphere were coming back tomorrow!
A quiet coffee shop without too much background music where it is easy to do work, or meet with a friend. They have nice pastries. It can be a hard to find a place, but worth the visit.
Nice comfy place to have coffee or tea, great atmosphere. The coffee cake here is great.
I love this place. Decade is my favorite coffee shop in Lawrence. I have lived in the area for three years and I have always enjoyed coming here to study or hang out with friends. The owner and the baristas are very friendly and knowledgeable. The food, drinks, and ambience can’t be beat!!
This place is a gem of Lawrence. In every detail of my experience, I see the commitment to thoughtfulness and quality. I recently went to a beautiful event hosted there. It was not only the wonderful music, artwork and atmosphere, but it was genuine feeling of the community gathering there that really moved me. Thank you for providing a place to be in Lawrence that is stimulating and real.
Quaint coffee shop in East Lawrence. Always tasty items with a lovely atmosphere. 👍🏾👍🏾
Very unique historic style. Good for coffee, tea, cold drinks. Good for individual laptop, book time, 2 or 3 person conversation. Covered small deck for comfortable outdoor personal or couple friends chat time.
Some of the best cocktails in Lawrence. The food is also some of the best and most creative in Lawrence, especially considering the limited kitchen.
Great place, very rustic! Coffee is good, but not extraordinary. Great place to camp out and do homework for the morning! Its not busy at all for the first couple hours in the morning, very peaceful place! Music is a bit too loud though.
Got the latte and had dark chocolate added to it. It was outstanding. Exceptional customer service.
Very cool place. Wonderful apple cider drink. Excellent customer service.
Super cool place. Great employees and everything was so quiet and peaceful. Also loved the outside area at night! Beautiful.
The coffee and tea was absolutely fantastic. Great environment, very clean and interesting, and very quiet. A good place to calm down and study, and very kind servers.
Great coffee and sandwiches. locally sourced stoneware. the space is vibrant, the porch is an under-appreciated gem--shady, cozy. nothing not to love here. they really care about your experience.
Great coffee, tea, food, and staff. Boasts a warm, pleasant atmosphere that is extremely inviting. You can just hang out and work on your laptop without interruption. A true gem of the Lawrence community.
Very kind, polite and knowledgeable staff. Coffee made various ways (pour over, espresso, cold press etc). Great environment to have a quick meeting, do some homework, or just relax.
Great alternative to busier venues. Cool neighborhood. One complaint however, they were out of egg sandwich and only there are only two breakfasts entrees. Hopefully that was a one-off.
Great, chill vibe. Creative, small, quiet atmosphere. A bit pricey
Great deserts, loved the Gin and Tonic. The atmosphere was intimate, and relaxing yet flexible. Beautiful space. A wonderful hidden neighborhood gem, definitely our new drinks and desert spot!
Always love love love coming here, I come at least once a week to get work done since Im so productive here. Large tables perfect for workspace, and smaller tables are great for chatting with friends. Outside deck is lovely, especially at night! If you are able to, come to Decade past 8pm -- its a different experience than during the daytime. Coffee is top notch. ALL the baristas are lovely people. Cant recommend a better place!
Magnificently chill atmosphere, incredibly friendly and accommodating staff, and quality coffee. Found my place!
Had a delicious sticky rice bowl, fun gingerbread with candied ginger on top, and decaf thats actually good! Love the coffee aroma you get as soon as you enter.
I never write reviews, but I just experienced the absolute best service in a coffee shop that I probably ever have. My sister and I were looking for a place to set up camp to study for a few hours, so we found this place and decided to give it a try. Our barista was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, very helpful in giving us hints and suggestions about what to get, very patient as we continued to look over the menu and ask questions, and quick/efficient at preparing the drinks. The atmosphere was also very pleasant, and I was a big fan of the outdoor seating option, even though we ended up sitting inside. This coffee shop is nicely located, off the beaten path but not too far from the main stretch. Youll probably have to find street parking, though, potentially right next to a stone wall across the street. The large lot next to the building is reserved for another company. Oh well. Overall, excellent experience!
I was looking for somewhere I could get good drinks and desserts while hanging out with friends in a quiet enough atmosphere to talk and play cards. I really didnt think it existed in Lawrence until I found Decade. Fantastic mixed drinks, delicious dessert, and a great atmosphere for low-key hanging with friends.
Very cool place. Good coffee, good food.
Great outdoor area to sit with your dog and sip a latte. Perfect coffee shop for studying. Friendly staff.
Love the atmosphere and staff. Always helpful and great to talk to. A must for my wife and I when we visit Lawrence. The coffee is pretty damn amazing too!
Excellent coffee. The best part of this place is that it opens at 6:30. Its hard to find great coffee anywhere else this early.
My favorite coffee shop in Lawrence. It is more like a hub for meeting people, working, hanging out than just a coffee shop. Though I also go there sometimes to sit alone, drink chai and work. They also make the best mimosa in town and have delicious food ( more vegan options please!!)
I think the coffee is above average. I just think Decade is over priced. I had a large cup of regular drip coffee and asked for a breve (steamed half-and-half) and it was $4. There are places just as good in Lawrence that a two shot Latte is only $4.
The food was tasty & reasonably priced. The service was friendly. I loved all the wood & interesting design elements. The coffee was good - I usually take cream & sugar but was able to drink it black here. Apparently the menu changes often but they usually have a gluten-free rice bowl. This was my first visit but Ill be back! The music was relaxing & the customers were quiet. I couldve apent a good portion of the day here if I had the time.
Great place to sit and work, or just grab and go. Friendly faces and cool interior design
Fun little bistro off the beat and path. Did not have any food, but fun drink products whether youre looking for a synthesizing stimulant or a relaxing mixed drink to satisfy the palate.
Friendly staff, friendly space, good drinks
Lovely atmosphere. Taste treats. Delicious coffee! Cozy.
Nice friendly environment, my favorite item on the menu has to be the cold brew tonic on a hot summer day, would put decade on my top 3 coffee shops in town.
I visited for the first time last Friday. My house coffee was bitter, so bitter that I couldnt drink it. I ordered a specialty coffee to take its place, but was still charged for the bitter coffee too. Then, when I received my breakfast order of tomatoes and eggs, I asked for salt and pepper, and was informed by the barrista/waiter that she couldnt find the pepper mill, so, no, she did not have pepper. I think Decade needs to up its game. Find your salt and pepper, and throw out bitter coffee or at least dont charge your customers for it!
Nice hipsterish coffee shop. Great coffee in cups from a local potter, and very pleasant staff and customers. My only knock against them is the total lack of power outlets. If you dont need to charge anything, this place is hard to beat.
Cute coffee shop in Lawrence with great drinks.
By the menu and layout of the plane it seems theyre trying just a little too hard to be hipster. However what I found was knowledge and friendly baristas, superior coffee, good service, clean dining area, and a comfortable atmosphere.Didnt get to try any treats yet!
Great coffee shop. Hold my business coffees there. Prices are moderate and seem comparable with other coffee shops.
Be the King for a day! What a gem! Atmosphere, people, food and coffee. Ask how you can be the king and win a macaroon. Best spot ever!!
This place is my favorite coffee shop. I visit as much as possible when I am back home in Kansas. You cant go wrong when choosing a coffee drink or something tasty to eat.
Great cup of coffee. I had a pour over which tasted fantastic. The environment is great as well.
Everything here is delicious, the staff are so friendly and kind. I enjoy this place tremendously for meeting with friends or colleagues and the occasional work or study session.
3.5Clean, fresh, cute interior, but uncomfortable seating. Barista very friendly and approachable. Super hipstery menu and atmosphere, some item names made it feel like they were trying to be complicated on purpose. Location is industrial and an ultimate hipster hideaway. I wont knock them on the drink I ordered, it was my own fault for not knowing exactly what I was getting. I got Potent Green ($5), a matcha and sencha drink that ended up tasting like spinach water. Nice presentation of the drink, however. I would come again to try their food and another drink, but I dont think I will make it a staple part of my routine.
This is my favorite coffee shop in town. Very nice decor and earthy. The coffee never disappoints. The food is good too.
Such great coffee. Great baked goods. Great service and cozy environment.
Cool place. Good food. Good atmosphere. Good coffee.
Big fan. One of our favorite places in town to chill, eat well prepared food, and have a very tasty brew (coffee and or beer). And the portion size is fine as long as you are not interested in a buffet belly full.
Nice hidden gem, friendly staff.
Very friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks.
Really nice atmosphere, the simplistic decor is lovely, and theyve got a wide variety of drinks on the menu for a reasonable price. They also have a little patio you can relax at in the back.
Wonderful, Authentic, genuine atmosphere..
Cool, random, peaceful, out-of-the-way coffee shop. Great ambience and friendly, helpful staff. Great coffee and tea, by the way.
First visit. Friendly staff, cool atmosphere, delicous coffee. Ill definatly be back.
This was my first visit to Decade, but I will definitely be going back. I was there mid morning and had an Aeropress coffee (Big City) and a pistachio apricot tart. Both were fabulous! The coffee came in a locally crafted stoneware cup.
Great atmosphere yummy food and coffee
This coffee shop is excellent. They have great food, great drinks, and the atmosphere is perfect.
Hyggely score 5/5 😊 also delicious tea
Great coffee, delicious food, nice quiet tables. I love this place.
Decade has welcoming staff, a warm atmosphere where you can do anything from reading to socializing and reliably good coffee.LOVE the outdoor seating!
Pros: amazing coffee, great staff, and good atmosphere, if you catch it just right.Cons: its kinda out of the way and it can be insanely busy. That comes with the territory of being a well-kept secret. Conclusion: 11/10 consistently my top pick
Love the ambiance here. Friendly, passionate staff that make really great coffee and food
Great drinks, great atmosphere and great staff
One of the best coffee shops in town and great cocktails!
Excellent cappuccino. Tasty sweet potato bread. No WiFi or places to plug in. Friendly service.
Try Decade chai with Spinach & Egg Sandwich. Delicious breakfast to start your day!
A very wonderful comfortable rustic place to relax with a terrific espresso. Can’t give a 5 simply because I haven’t tried a lot of things on the menu.
Great coffee. Friendly staff. Relaxing atmosphere. Best Chai in town.
This is the best place in Lawrence. Best shows, best food, best tea, etc!
Fairly good coffee (could be better) and a nice location (a lot of nice woodwork). The food offerings are great as well.
Fun place, nice water, Im sure something is good. However, avoid chai. It was the worst chai my gf and I ever had.
Great coffee, and a great place to learn about it
