I am thrilled to have found an auto repair shop that I can count on to not only be knowledgable, but trust-worthy. I bought a car and within days had a brake warning light on. Deakins was recommended to me so I made an appointment. Im so glad I did. It was frustrating to have an issue with a new car, but Deakins made it a great experience.Everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful, but Andy gets a special shout out because his diligence saved me literally $1,000+. He went above and beyond to see if there was any way to avoid the $1,000+ route, and there was! I am grateful that he took the initiative to keep looking, when he could have just charged me $1,000+ and called it a day. I value that kind of honesty and customer service, and wont be taking my cars anywhere else.

Took my car there while back. They charged me $299. For battery. They said it was fixed. Took home same day. Tried starting it nothing. Finally took alternator off today. Got tested it was bad . That last time going back to them . If I could give them no star. Kia rio

This review is long overdue but better late than never - MUST READ!!!My wife and I were on a road trip from Minnesota back to Tennessee when our trucks wheel bearings had exploded and left us stranded in The middle of Indiana. Deakins was the only place we could find that was nearby so we went in. The owner had originally told us the do not work on many diesel trucks but after telling them the severity of our situation, they pulled the truck in and got to work all while putting everything else on hold.Long story short, the axle needed to be completely replaced and we were looking at a repair that was going to take several weeks to get done after repairs, shipping parts, hard to find parts ext. All while my wife was pregnant with twins and we had our 2 dogs with us along with a Harley Davidson stuck on the back of the truck. They let our dogs stay in them office with them all day, they bought us lunch, one of their friends gave them $200 towards our shop bill, then to top it off the owners let us use their personal vehicle to go to the airport to get a rental car while they watched our dogs.....When we went back to get the truck some time later, everything was in better shape then how i had left it and my axle is still working great to this day. We would do anything for this family and this company if they needed us, no questions asked! My wife cried on the way home because of the hospitality these folks showed our family and I wish there were more people like them in this world to share the love that they do.Love, The Ammermans

Can’t say enough good things about this place. They’re an honest family business that have always served me with kindness and honesty. They don’t try to swindle you like some of the large chains do sometimes. They tell you what they would recommend, but at the end of the day they respect you decision on what you want done. If there’s multiple rings wrong with your car they tell you, and if you only want one of those things done they’ll do just that. While they are usually busy most of the time, I absolutely love this place and the people who work there. Highly highly recommend.

Good luck. I told them i had a full warranty and they said. I need to basically deal with the warranty people. Took it Goodyear truck was fixed the next day. Just be careful with these guys.

Ive had several repairs done at Deakins North on my Kia Sedona. Always polite and courteous. They do great work and dont try to up sell me on repairs I didnt ask for. They can be a bit busy, but I think that speaks highly for how many people trust them with automotive repairs.

My daughter recommend I take my SUV, to have my breaks done here. They were able to get me in the same day and break job was excellent and also got an oil change. Very pleased with the service performed on my vehicle and the shop folks are very professional and friendly. They are family owned business and will be part of our family for repairs, we need on our vehicles. Its a good feeling knowing our daughters can go there and be treated with respect . Had my car there today. Wasnt going to be able to make it home to Michigan without it getting fixed. It was just a simple wiring problem luckily. They had it done promptly and at a fair price. Im home now and didnt have the problem again.

My car broke down while traveling to Bloomington and I didnt know any of the services in the area. I picked Deakins due to the good reviews and was not disappointed. They were friendly and helpful and worked with me to get my car to their location and into be checked and repaired. It ended up being something minor and their bill was almost half of the towing charge. They are honest and fair and if they were local to me I would use them as my regular mechanic service.

They gave AMAZING service! My Ford Escapes Defroster and Winshield Washer were both not working. I was terrified that the repairs would take several days and be very costly. To my surprise they were able to get the parts I needed and have it all done the same day! And the price was fair! They just got a regular customer!

Completely ripped off, paid almost $500 and didnt fix the problem and arguably made it worse by touching it in the first place. My vehicle broke down and would not charge the battery, had triple A bring it to them. Alternator had been replaced less than a year ago and they told me it was the alternator and wiring that had gone bad along with an idler pulley that was seized, I was skeptical about the alternator but had no choice as I was in another state. Got the vehicle back with a check engine light on, attempted to drive it back after asking if there were any other issues that needed to be handled before driving it to wv and other than it needing axles and struts ( which I declined because I planned on fixing them once the car was back home and I could work on it myself ), to which I was told no everything else was fine. Car drove a little more than 100miles and the car broke down the same exact way as before I had brought it to them. After looking over the car, the idler pulley had never been replaced and the belt had been thrown and after looking at it clearly looked old with cracked ribs and the outer section frayed, what was more upsetting was that the idler pulley was hand tight along with my engine cover and alternator bolts themselves. I called them to explain what happened and spoke with a woman named Jessica who told me they would not cover any of it and immediately got salty about me saying they had not corrected the issue and my car broke down the exact same way as it had when I brought it to them in the first place, she said there was no way that any of that had happened because she knew the mechanic ( basically calling me a liar/idiot which is a real classy touch from someone with no customer service skills what so ever who immediately began to deny every thing I was saying ) and he couldnt possibly have done that, talked over me the entire time and flat out told me that i had denied all the things they told me needed to be replaced which were the axles and struts ( didnt even provide any mechanics notes or anything to even back up what she was saying ) that have zero to do with a battery charging issue. the only other thing they had told me other than the alternator being bad and a wiring issue was that the idler pulley had burnt up which I told them I wanted it replaced to which it was not and had clearly been touched because I was able to take it off with my fingers alone. I was told that I was making that up because she personally didnt tell me that and it wasnt on the bill which was true, there was no explanation of anything on the bill, its was a receipt for the alternator and labor and no evidence that any inspection was done to it what so ever. Ive been a mechanic all my life, Ive worked in a handful of dealerships and independent shops as a mechanic and there is one thing you always provide your customers with and that is the notes of what was touched/worked on in their vehicle and a list of recommendations that you found for either elapsed maintenance items or things that need to be serviced immediately or in the near future. When a shop doesnt provide these things to its usually for a handful of reasons. One, they forgot to do it; two, they are poorly managed and operated and have no interest in providing customers with important information about their vehicles and maximizing their own potential earnings as a repair shop or three, they choose not to provide record of their work so that when there is a customer complaint or issue with the work provided that it is harder to dispute when they dont complete a repair properly or are negligent in their repairs at which makes it easier to prove that they are not liable for a botched job ( which typically means that its frequent that this occurs ). After my experiance with them Im all but certain I know why they do not provide these notes and just do yourself a favor and if your car is broken down, flintstone yourself down the street elsewhere because youll pay twice to get your car fixed by them.*thatll happen when you calla customer a liar

Called Deakens this morning about just having a part pointed out on my 2015 Sonata that I was having trouble finding. The one answering the phone was great to deal with....... but when she handed the phone over to her daughter I felt a little judged... She informed me i would be charge a diagnostic fee of $45 for the first hour and if it took more than two hours I would be charged $90.... I was fine with the charge just to get a little help. I was called back very shortly after because the mechanic was wondering what I needed done. When I told him he told me to come on up and he would show me... apon leaving I was again rudely approached by the daughter saying she was going to charge me $90 for the service basically because he had better things to do with his day than help me locate a part... So jest of the story is Should of been charged $45 but was Charged $90 because “ I was wasting his time”. Oh and the mechanic great to work with too.

AMAZING customer service and not to mention my car is running perfectly now . Took my 97 chevy k1500 in to get a quote to have the head gaskets replaced and tranmission flushed due to over heating in was told that the truck is old and i went in willing to pay up to 2200 dollars to have my truck in good shape again and was told by the mechanic that the owner will not let them fix or repair something of that age but yet they have a 95 Pontiac sun fire sitting in the lot to be fixed around a 94 -95 dodge half ton truck on the lift with the front end tore about but yet they dont want my business with cash in hand to make my truck good again without over heating I will never go back to them for anything got talked to like I was a piece of trash laying on the floor by the man sitting at the counter so I guess if you have anything newer than a 2000 model you should be ok to get any kinda of work done so good luck

Fixed my truck and did it right. Service was great and the handling was professional. It beats the big chain shops (walmart, big o, goodyear) by a long shot, which is why I prefer local.

All I can say is wow. I am so happy with my visit here that I HAD to write this review. I had MAJOR problems with my older SUV, and my goal was tho get it road worthy and safe to drive without breaking the bank. Took my car in for an estimate, and a couple of days later got a call from Andy. He gave me a detailed estimate that was VERY reasonable, so I gave the ok to proceed. He got into the job and found additional issue(s) that needed resolved. He called me and explained, and I again gave the ok. In short... ignition and front end problems made the car a real rattletrap.After a few days I got the call that the car was finished. The thing is running LIKE NEW! I NEVER thought it would run and drive so well again. A real tip of the hat to DEAKINS. They are obviously pros from top to bottom. They kept me in the loop all the way, did TOP NOTCH work at a fair price, and warranted the job for 2 years to boot. I will NEVER have to search for my auto service again! Kudos to Andy and the crew at DEAKINS!
