As soon as they’ve got your money you’re dead to them. Can’t ever get through on the phone. Our sofa is ready for delivery, we just need to pay our balance. However, we can’t ever get through on the phone so can’t do that. Madness. The way this company is run feels like they’ll be the next big company going bust.
Visited here twice during Thursday 14th October with my mother, whom wanted to buy a sofa bed. We dealt with Suzette Williams on both occasions and also spoke with her on the phone. She was very helpful, knowledgeable, professional and friendly. She explained additional charges and delivery times to our satisfaction. Fantastic customer service from Tammy and John today. I have shopped in furniture village for years and the service received from other stores has not been a patch on their care, attention and professionalism. They stayed late to let me finish my shop, allowed me to feed the baby and they kept my son entertained while I considered all the options. No pressure to buy just genuine lovely people. Will only shop in the lakeside branch in future.

I visited this store last Saturday to look at dinning furniture. I was helped by a lovely lady called Louise. She could not have been nicer or more helpful. No pushy sales patter, just helped answer any questions I had. I would definitely go back to this store (even though its not my closest) and would highly recommend to anyone.
Many thanks must go to Suzette Williams for all her help when I recently purchased a sofa and a snuggler. I had to adjust the order on checking dimensions when I got home, but she patiently altered my order to suit with a very quiet, pleasant manner. I can now look forward to the pieces being delivered.
Ordered a sofa in April. Supposed to be here end of July. Waited for contact. Heard nothing. Tried ringing the store for a week. No answer. Had an email today saying it’s coming in October. No apology no nothing. So over 2 months late. Disgusting service
Ordered a suite just over a week ago. Told delivery approximately 16 weeks, when I mentioned Christmas I was told yes it would be there. Now I am told to book a delivery for March next year. Not happy leaving my £4000 in their bank account, would much rather it was in mine till March. I know now that the salesperson was definitely lying to me about the delivery date just to get a sale. Fuming!!
Awful. Poor Customer Service and I still have not received my order.I placed an order for over £4,000 in store over 3months ago and was promised that they could guarantee delivery within 1 month as they had the furniture in stock. (The sales rep even showed me on his screen that they had reserved my furniture in their warehouse.)1 month goes by and no sign of my order. I then called up and they mentioned they had lost my order in their systems. Its now been 3months + with no furniture or even an update as to where it is.Customer service is awful, I cant get through to anyone and when I go back into store they are refusing to give me a discount. I havent even received an apology.Would not recommend to anyone. Any help on what to do next would be appreciated.
Ordered a Central Park table which took over 4 months to arrive. The base of the table was badly damaged and we were told to contact furniture village. Numerous phones calls and 4 emails and I still had no response. Went to the shop in lakeside and was told to complain online. Explained that I have many times to no avail. 7 weeks later I’m having to go to the shop again and I know I’ll be fobbed off. I paid over £1200 for my Central Park and feel well cheated. I’m not giving in.

Needed a refund on some accessories that didnt arrive (and wouldnt have fitted anyway) - contacted the store by phone and email, got nowhere. Went in a couple of times and couldnt get any progress either.Finally today, 3 months on, went back in again and encountered a lovely, helpful, engaged, intelligent member of staff who sorted out the refund in about 2 minutes flat. Still no wiser about why it was so difficult for anyone else to process, but there it is. Thankyou Carol!

Ordered my New bed and sofa for my First home back in May and after getting lied too and false delivery dates i am told i will get a call today ....... hahahaha of course i didnt!! These people dont even pick up the phone let alone actually ring someone !! Terrible service!! Whats the point on having a phone number?!?! why am i the one chasing everything ?!?! Utter Useless!
I ordered sofa in March, delivered in June but was to big, asked for upholstery but was told only one in Scotland, waited and waited until l decided to cancel order since June l have called, sent emails for my refund of £300 deposit money paid still no answer, l am so disappointed in this service and l hope someone will get back to me and give me my refund

Placed my order 12th of April got told 9 to 11 weeks for delivery, I had my own furniture taken away on the 11th week and am now continuing to sit on a garden chair! spoken to my sales lady last night Suzette Sheppard from lakeside she has now said I could be looking at 26th of August but couldnt assure me! Awful service received by Tammy and another staff member in Lakeside on Saturday. Walked in to buy my Sofa where i was greeted by miserable sale staff. Waited at the table to process my order and heard Tammy winging its her home time and then didnt take my order. Okay get that, but she didnt even bother to call me on sunday as promised. Never mind I called and placed my order with a happy staff member.

A real welcome from the team at Thurrock on Saturday at 1000 especially during these really strange times we are in with Covid!The team were checking temperatures on arrival and we sanitised our hands. All staff were wearing visors. We had an appointment with Jake who was incredibly helpful. He allowed us to browse the store freely and there was no pressure from him at all. He answered all our questions without fuss and even went and compared different sizes to match our existing one. Absolutely brilliant!We bought from Furniture Village before and this is why we are back again. Ordered a beautiful sofa from here in early October ready for Christmas, the ordering went really smoothly, paid my money, and happily waited for it to arrive.Then the trouble begins....The sofa arrived after 10 weeks with the wrong backing to what I’d ordered, so I went in to store saw the manager who contacted the company who made it to order the correct backs, waited another 8 weeks for them to just send empty covers 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ so in disbelief I went back to the store yet again to explain, the manager got on to the company again to order the inserts. Which I finally arrived a couple of days ago. So near on 4 months waiting time for my sofa to be complete which should have been 8-10 weeks!!The whole thing was enough to drive you mad & especially after having our room decorated.I’m giving them 5 star rating is because of a lady called Michelle flint who I believe works in the office rather than the shop floor.This lady has constantly kept in contact with me, letting me know updates, checking in with me to see if things had arrived & I can honestly say hand on heart if it wasn’t for her I think I would have took the sofa back and dumped it in their store.Each member of staff I have dealt with have been good and it wasn’t their faults in anyway for all the mistakes.I just found that Michelle went above and beyond to help, She is a credit to their store and is unbelievably helpful & does exactly what she says she is going to do with regards to chasing the company up and keeping me up to speed with everything. Thanks to Michelle my sofa is now complete.

My husband & I went to Lakeside with the intention of visiting all the furniture stores that sell beds as we wanted to purchase a new one. .Our first stop was Furniture Village. It was a pleasant surprise to be greeted by a lovely sales representative wearing a face shield and who politely explained that we would need to have our temperature taken before entering the store - also we were asked to sanitise our hands. This immediately made us feel safe and welcome. We were asked what we were interested in looking at & directed to the area that the beds were on display.The store is so clean and well presented and we were able to browse without being pounced on by the sales team the moment we started looking.When we were ready to find out some more information we spoke to Jason. He knew his products and was able to offer us some good advice.We found Jason to be honest and really helpful.We were given time to ourselves to discuss and we both agreed that wed found what we were looking for and had no need to look elsewhere. We decided to go ahead and make our purchase.Jason alerted us to the current offer of a £50 discount for every £500 spent. This gave us a huge discount and enabled us to purchase pillows & an extended warranty, all within our budget.Jason provided us with refreshments whilst he went through all the paperwork in detail with us.My husband has never been so happy going shopping, just 1 shop, a discount & all done within 90 minutes! We even got a voucher to use on our next visit.
We cant recommend Furniture Village Thurrock highly enough !!...After having bought our previous sofa from here 10 years ago and it is still in such great condition, just bored now with the colour, we wanted to buy excellent quality again....We were looked after by Martin who had such fantastic product knowledge and gave us great guidance and advice every step of the way without any pushy sales talk or tactics...he was an absolute pleasure to deal with and done us a great deal. 5 stars from us all the way ...Excellent service...Excellent furniture...Excellent experience!!

Worst ever customer experience from this store. I ordered my furniture from the Thurrock store and I would say I will never, ever step foot in that store or advise anyone to do so. Extremely poor customer service. poor communication, and extreme delay in getting my furniture delivered. I ordered my furniture in October and after my furniture being damaged by furniture village delivery men and a promise to swiftly repair this and deliver, I am still waiting for my furniture to be delivered. I expect customer service assistants to be polite, apologies for the delay and try to remedy the situation, rather, they are very rude on the phone and have tired to justified the delay. Worst experience ever!!

Initially we were disappointed when enquiring about purchasing a dining room table we wanted whilst in the store. There was a discounted price board for the table we liked and when we enquired about buying said table, we were advised that the special price that was advertised had expired 2 weeks prior to our visit and they were no longer offering the price as advertised and the new price was over £300 more than we anticipated.However, upon looking online whilst in the shop, I found the special price still stood on their website.After speaking to the manager in the shop about this, we were advised we could in fact have the dining room table for the price that was online and which also advertised on their board in store. We purchased the table and left the store happy.

We have just ordered a gorgeous marble table from furniture village. Customer service was brilliant, we wanted the table round and our sales representative called the supplier and asked if they would make it for us and they said yes! Looking forward to seeing it in 12 weeks time. Big thank you to the team. We went to Thurrock Furniture Village as it was the only store to have the sofa we wanted. Jason, the manager, came to our help, explaining all the relevant details of the leather and sofa we chose. Supplied with cups of tea I found it a very pleasant experience and left having ordered the sofas we wanted after a very stress free visit.
Came into look at dining tables and was helped by the sales manager Jason. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Helped us get the best deal possible and even managed to get an earlier delivery. We will be coming back again.

We were delighted with what we bought and this is in part due to the wide range of products and the standard of customer service received.

Came in yesterday in need of a new sofa, Martin Bailey introduced himself and allowed us to browse and look around until we saw the one we liked. He listened and understood our concerns and needs then advised on the best options for us. We did indeed buy the sofa we liked in store and now waiting for delivery. We visited the store to purchase a new sofa, it was made a very pleasant experience by sales consultant, Tammy Lee.... what an asset to your team! Coffee and cookies were supplied while we completed our sale. During these strange times of COVID-19 we felt very safe and assured that all the correct measures were in place. Well we have to give Jason Sutton a massive high five....this transcends into 5 star service. Having decided on a particular...beautiful wardrobe Jason was able to customise the spec of this furniture to our needs. He was on a mission as the clock was ticking as we had another appointment. He was cool calm and paperwork was done. Complimentary coffee was consumed. One very happy customer left the building. A tie rack was omitted from the order...unless anyone else can think of an alternative use for this!......wardrobe mission take 2. We got home and found out the measurements we had were wrong...panick set in. No need to worry as we went back to the store...Jason was cool and very professional. The order was redone...more great coffee and a delicious cookie later...new order signed. Will definitely recommend Jason to anyone who wants honest genuine and professional service. Thank you.
On both ours visits to consider purchase of a Durests sofa, both salesmen were very helpful ( Martin and Sunil ), showing the construction, material options, calling Duresta to ask specific bespoke questions and generally allowing us space and time to think, but being nearby to help when we wanted them.
Great service, was not pressured into anything, all staff were friendly, originally spoken to Martin, he was very helpful.Following day I came back and bought the Midi sofa set from Jason, they held the sofa for me as verbally promised.The FV Thrurrock branch has a great team with excellent management, they made so easy to spend money, keep up the good work!

Customer service poor- unable to speak to a representative after numerous calls and voicemail is full. Take weeks if not months to resolve any issues. Very disappointing customer care post sale.I still have an issue (my second) that I am trying to resolve with this company after purchasing a dining table from them.
Great Staff and was very helpful at the store but delivery disappointing as no one called us as promised with a delivery date and the item was left with a neighbour with no information posted through our door stating this.So the after service needs to be improved
We visited Sunday 12th July, we didnt know what we wanted but found the perfect compliment to our new extension and kitchen, we were given such good service by Martin Bailey and the duty manager that day that we went home to measure up and sleep on it, we made the trip back even though we have a FV close to us, we went in looking for Martin and luckily (as we hadnt booked) Martin was in even though he was supposed to be off, he spent his own time to giving us the same great service and ordered the furniture we had chosen. I have shopped with FV in the past and their same professional personal service will ensure I will always shop with them in the future. Dont really go furniture shopping much nor do I leave reviews much either. However my wife and I were over in lakeside last week and decided to just have a pop into your store.We was greeted warmly by a young lady sitting at a desk obviously working away on her computer. There were several members of staff already talking to customers throughout the store, so we just wandered around (not looking for anything specifically). We then got approached by a young gentleman whom was quite short but with a massive personality!! He was great, Jason was his name. A cheeky chappy but had us both laughing. We got chatting about a table and chairs set, he certainly knew his info. Long story short he made our experience of going furniture shopping/browsing exceptional. We ended up buying a table along with 6 chairs which will be delivered just in time for christmas.A fantastic visit all in all. Would highly recommend to anyone.
ORDER NO 15919P577Bought a GPlan Electric Recliner chair for my elderly father who has been recovering from Cancer and Three strokes. The chair was purchased as a mobility aid.To date we have NOT received his VAT refund even after numerous calls before the COVID lockdown. It is virtually impossible to get through to the store we purchased from as no one ever picks up and going through on the main number is always half hour to 40 min wait!The chair was bought in December 2019 and arrived mid February, within weeks the foot recliner did not push back into place, after calling Furniture village a repair team called and appointment was given for weeks later?! We were told that due to COVID nothing could be done to fast track the repair time.Subsequently after the first repair the same issue happened again and the entire seat area kept rolling/Dipping into the right side of the chair rendering the chair unusable.My father has not been able to use this chair properly especially at a time when this would have helped him be more independent after his strokes in getting up and out of his chair and using the functions to aid him.The repair team had stated the chair had been poorly made and these issues shouldn’t have been occurring and that a replacement or repair looking at the whole frame of chair should be looked at. A report had been sent to furniture village but to date we have heard NOTHING?! This is extremely frustrating.So disappointed with Furniture village and their handling of this.Will not buy from here again, We purposely bought a G Plan as it was a reputable British furniture maker but it now seems is being sold with poor workmanship and no proper aftercare by Furniture Village when faults arise.Still awaiting response for VAT and Replacement Chair which I don’t believe will be anytime soon as COVID is now the new excuse for the constant delays.My father has not benefited from purchasing this chair but instead left us with more stress!
The sales guy, Martin Bailey was brilliant. Very polite, professional and a great help with choosing the sofa. On this basis, I would definitely recommend furniture village.
We had the best service we have received in a long time anywhere! Ali at West Thurrock was amazing. He spent plenty of time with us, discussing options, ideas and assistance. We came away having ordered a new bedstead, new mattress and a dining set! He is a brilliant salesman. The paperwork was very clear and Ali went through it very carefully with us. So far not good. My order could not have been more specific. Then on the delivery day it is completely wrong. I have been in person to the store to confirm exactly what I was ordering and at this time I am not confident I am ever going to get the right order. I have also not been contacted since and await confirmation that anything is happening. I am disappointed having expected better service on past performance.
