Ordered item online but when completed the process got message saying shopping error and logged out for security reasons. Less than minute later got Email saying My card was charged but no email from Vance with order number or conformation for order. Logged back into vance and no order anywhere but they sure charged my card. Phone number given with error message was to Lebanon store and associate found order and told me information for the order but I had to call online department to see what happened. Next day after 1 hour trying to call after they open finally someone answered instead of machine saying goodbye. They said they couldnt find order but did find charge on my card. Only answer given was up to ten business days to refund card but they sure charged my card for NO order. Company policy.

Traded in a firearm and we had a few issues with the price on the new pistol I was buying bc the sale ended. They honored the sale price that already ended and Randy was the absolute best. He was very informative and made sure I was happy with the purchase. This place and especially Randy are top notch 👏Wont go anywhere else.

Oct 27 2021 I placed on online order. When I completed order I got an error message and was logged out for security reasons and recieved no order number or conformation code but received the email saying my credit card was charged. Logged back into Vance but the was no order in my account. I called the store and was told by an associate he found the order in system and I needed to call the online department the next day. Next day I called online department and spoke to associate and was first told there was no order and she would have to check with accounting to see if I was charged. She called back and said they found the charge on my card but still couldnt find an order so they would refund my card account in 10 business days but with their company policy 10 business days are actually about 18 days. Checked my card this morning (Oct 29) and charge is on card and not pending which means I am paying interest for nothing. No other way to purchase item was given. Called the store back and different associate looked up and found my order in system and that I would need to call online department, geez. Called online back and was given rude run around and she cant find order, doesnt care Im being charged interest for nothing, tech might look into what went wrong. Associates in stores I had spoken to all said there were problems with placing orders online and with there phones. The replies from someone on negative comments go unanswered and are just company attempt to look like they have customer service. From now on I will take advice from vance online department and take my business elsewhere.

So I was at the Lebanon store to buy some 20ga. shot shells for squirrel hunting. Found some and when I went to check out the lady cashier asked me if it was my first time buying ammo from there. Then she wanted a phone number and my name and a driver’s license. When I asked what for she was very rude with a. bad attitude said I will just put in your first name. Really. I am almost 60 years old and quite obviously old enough. That place really left a bad taste in my mouth.

A great big THANK YOU to Josh in the Archery department. He assisted my 10 year old son with setting up his new bow for the Urbancrest Archery club. He was nice, funny, and you could tell he genuinely cared about making sure my sons bow was set properly. The experience was so great, that my husband decided to buy a bow for himself, and Josh set that one up as well. We visited multiple areas of the store when we were there, and everyone was really nice. We will be visiting Vance Outdoors again for sure!

The customer service here was absolutely amazing! I recently built an AR 15 and went to Vance for a few last minute accessories and toys to add to my rifle. When I explained what I was up to, the gentleman behind the gun counter knew exactly what to do. He grabbed a basket and we ended up going through the aisles and gathering the things I needed/wanted. I have never had customer service like this and I wish more stores cared this much about their customers and had the amount of knowledge that the man who helped me did. I learned quite a lot from him! Thank you and I will definitely be back when I need more items!

Dealt with Jason purchasing my first bolt action and scope. He spent a great deal of time and effort into helping. Very knowledgeable and genuine in making sure i was getting exactly what i wanted. Out of all the places Ive bought firearms this is by far the best experience Ive had. Highly recommend. Will be returning for purchases from here on.

I purchased my first firearm today from Randy. Explained everything in detail. I told him why I was buying it (protecting my home, Son and I). He was amazing and told me my firearm was great for a novice, but would advise me to graduate to a shotgun when I got comfortable with my current firearm. He said for the reason I was buying it, the racking sound would make intruders back out of my window. He let me hold a shotgun and taught me how to rack it. I loved it. Amazing and informative. Great guy, cant wait to come back!

The archery team at vance outdoors went above and beyond to help me get set up for deer season between setting up my new bow for me and setting up my wife’s bow and getting her the correct arrows much appreciated

I went to look at the gun counter and was thrilled with the selection. Also the staff is very helpful and glad to just talk about the ins and outs of different guns. Overall I had a really enjoyable experience.

I wanted to buy a Winchester Wildcat for cheap target practice and plinking. I asked the salesman to see the gun and he gave it to me and while I was discussing it with my friend he said it was a piece of junk and not worth buying and tried to get me to purchase a Ruger 10/22. This embarassed me in front of my friend.I researched the Wildcat and the Ruger and understand both guns well. Either the salesman is full of it or Vances is selling junk, not sure which is correct, but they lost out on a sale and I will not be back. Dont need to spend my money at a place that is going to insult me and what I want to purchase from them.Update: Went down the road to Rural King and they had the gun for less and didnt criticize the firearm I wanted to purchase so I purchased it from them. Also had similar quality ammunition for less so I picked some up.

Bought a Taurus GX4 from them today. Very smooth transaction. They have the biggest gun and ammo selection of any store in the area that Im aware of. There ammo cost are high but I was explained it was due to keeping it in supply. Even if they prices go up and down elsewhere, Vances stays the same, thats why they always have ammo for just about any gun on hand. I highly recommend checking them out. Hidden gem to any gun owner!!

Called to check availability on a product and the voice recording told me to use the website. I find the product on the website that says in stock. When I arrive at the store they say it says in stock because they still have a display which they wouldn’t sell.

Owen and Derick were a huge help in purchasing my first bow. Tons of knowledge, really took a great deal of time to get me set up. I will definitely be back because of their customer service!

I will never shop here again do to the fact that they price gouge people on ammo. I was at Rural King the day before and purchased two 50 round boxes of 9mm ammo for 33 dollars. Vances wants 49.99 for just one 50 round box of the exact ammo. Lets do the math and equals Rural King appreciates their customers.

Great place, very friendly employees. This was my first trip to this Vance Outdoors store, but Ive been to Columbus location before. This place blows the others out of the water. Great selection of pretty much everything you want. Clothing, fishing, guns, and ammo. Definitely would recommend them to friends.

I was in and out quickly. Employees were friendly and helpful. Ammunitions is expensive but its expensive everywhere.

Cool place but look elsewhere for firearms. Its basically like going to the BMV. take a number and wait. Lots of other local shops around that dont do that.....

The have odd hours, because they can. Most of the employees were friendly enough but the firearms purchasing system is a joke. I had to fill out computerized paperwork FOUR TIMES due to various issues, and none of them were my fault it took over 2 hours and my firearm was paid for, and I was simply picking it up. I will never go back here. They dont open til noon and there were 40 grown men standing in line. People were runnin around like kids, to be first in line at the gun counter. Crazy !

Looks like they got a lot of stuff, but the gun counter was so busy, decided to try again another day. Staff upon entey was courteous though. Just a hopping place.

Vance outdoors is a great spot with incredible people! The customer service I received from Owen, Hunter, and Josh back in the archery department was top notch! Very satisfied customer, I highly recommend paying these fellas a visit for your archery and fishing needs!

The three employees gathered together to monitor the people waiting for the firearms counter were rude, condescending, and over zealous. Zero points for customer service with these three. I complained on Vances website. A manager contacted me within 1 hour to correct the situation. I was impressed enough to go back and do business at this location. Give them a chance. If you have a problem let management know (Ask for Melissa or John). Hopefully customer service will improve at this store. The management has the right attitude I hope they are successful in getting the employees properly trained.

Not a bad place. I am annoyed i drove 45 minutes from Northern Kentucky for a specific gun safe the website said was in stock. When I get there it wasn’t in stock. The rep even said it hasn’t been for some time. I had to settle for something else.Also if you’re going to buy a gun be prepared to wait. Easily a 30-45 minute line just to get to the gun counter.

I bought a 38 Special revolver, just what I was looking for. I was helped by Dan and he was great. I would give it 5 stars but the ammo was $40 for 20 rounds. I know ammo prices are up but thats ridiculous.

Went there to buy a shotgun. Grabbed a number waited... kept staring at the men behind counter... anyone going to sell me this gun, man said he would help.me next then proceeded to help sombody else ... last time I go there.

Purchasing a firearm is a painfully long process here. I understand being thorough but the amount of steps is crazy and took over an hour and a half.

Ive been here 4 times, 3 out of the 4 times Ive been here, Ive had an issue. All I can say is double check the cashiers and check your boxes. Ive had multiple issues with not receiving everything thats supposed to be in the package as well as being overcharged for random stuff. Theyre also not the nicest. I just called yesterday about my most recent issues and the lady, laughing me off on the phone, said they will call you sometime today, maybe tomorrow... Just depends how busy they are, but sometime.. . Then, no phone call.

Tanya at the gun counter was amazing, she was knowledgeable and nice. I definitely recommend asking for her. I will be going back soon.

An Ohio brand that had been in operation since 1978 and basically is a hunting and fishing paradise with a more niche flavor that concentrates on Ohios outdoor recreation activities. New and Enthusiasts will like this place as it will be more in tune to the mess of the locals and I fully support the mission to be a community provider.

Pretty cool place and a welcome addition to the area.That being said, the employees at the gun counter have a huge recurring problem with pointing guns (usually with their finger on the trigger for whatever reason) at anyone and everyone in the store. More than once I have been flagged by different employees and spoke up after they flagged my babys head with a handgun.Another less serious issue is the website is inaccurate with what is in stock. It can be frustrating to make the 30 minute drive for a product that either sold out days ago or was never even in stock recently at all.

Very rude experience. The guy just hung up on me. I was asking about bulk ammo sales and asked him if they limit purchase and said yes twice and hung up on me. He didnt even give me a chance to ask what the limit is. They must have it good there to be able to treat any customer that way.

If youre looking for an AR go elsewhere, looking online at their prices compared to another big local dealer they are $300-400 more on average, for the exact same models, definitely price gouging.

I know things are challenging. Their website said they had 300 Blackout. Drive all the way up there. No ammo. Employee says the website is 4-5 days behind what they have. Not a good business model to waste peoples time.

Vance seems to have a decent selection on certain firearms. They have had ammo in stock as well, that being said, the ammo is extremely high priced...so you have to be pretty desperate to pay what they are asking. Additionally, the firearms purchasing process is extremely annoying and time consuming. Save your time and go 22Three or Point Blank.

Was there this past Saturday was very busy one of the First places I visited that had friendly cashiers an employee’s very well organized an great selection of ammo have been buying a lotta ammo online but since I found this place will be back was impressed of the customer service which is hard to find these days.

Terrible customer service! Waited in line to get in for over an hour to look at firearms. Father in law and I both had guns picked out but absolutely slow customer service. Lost over $1500 in sales because they work so slow. One sales person was to busy talking about chicken wings to focus on selling guns.

The amount of time it take to purchase a firearm is insane here. These people need more training and this company needs to streamline the process. I am law enforcement and have a CCW and still was here three hours to purchase a Leo Glock that was preordered and paid for.. They have lost my business.

Poor customer service. Vance will not sell you ammunition unless you give them your name and phone number so they can Register you in their system. Very creepy-I did not and will not purchase ammo from Vance.

More than an hour left till close, and they cut off taking a number to look at firearms. Yeah you may save $10 getting a gun here, but your time is worth more than a wasted trip.

After discussing the situation over the phone, I felt better about the previous visit and was treated to the excellent customer service I am used to when dealing with Vance. Though the firearm I was interested in purchasing is no longer in stock, I will consider Vance Outdoor in the future for my firearm needs.Edit 10/8/20: I emailed my contact info as requested. Still no response. My 1 star review stands.I typically go to the Columbus location. Never had an issue. I was super excited to learn thay a store closer to me had open. However, it was not a good experience. The door greeter failed to explain the number process for purchasing a firearm. After standing in line, four of us realized we needed number tickets. So we head back up to the front. The greeter explained they are not doing tickets any more. So I asked if we just go back to line and wait. He said yep. So myself and three other customers do. Then after another 20min of waiting I ask an employee how they are handling customers without number tickets. Well apparently the reason they stopped hang ng out numbers was because they reached the max capacity of clients purchasing guns before closing. Mind you it was 2hrs and 30min before store closing. I get these are stressful times. However, you have had six months of a brave new covid-19 world to get you act together. All the greeter needed to explain was that they are not handing out number tickets as the firearms sales are done for the day. So looks like Ill be making all of my firearms and outdoor needs elsewhere.

(THEY GIVE YOU A NUMBER TO WAIT IN LINE LIKE THE BMV) i called wed 11-18-20 they had 3 gc3 guns in stock i said ill be by this weekend then and will call ahead of time. Called Sat, 11-20-20 they had 1 in stock and it was display only, i said ok ill call again in about hour before i drive there, call again a smart elec lady answers says they are busy and will call me back i said i need to know if they have 1 in stock or not. She laughs says well call you back i hung up, i go in and have to take a number, the number rule was not mentioned over the phone at all. Terrible customer service experience and waste of my drive, ammo was overpriced also at 30 dollars box for 50 rds regular brass 9mm.

Heres my major complaint, the lines for guns are bad. I know its like. Thats everywhere, but its kinda a cluster muck there. And some of the sales staff arent the most knowledgeable when it comes to firearms.

Most of the staff was very rude and unhelpful now there is 2 employees that are very helpful and knowledgeable if I could remember their names i would give them a good report but just about ever other employe is just a waste of space. I have been there a dozen times mainly because I actually like what they have but there has been issues every time I go. from not having the correct prices on their ammo, gear, and they have changed the price of the firearm i have bought and had to wait through the hour line again for them to correct the price to take it back up to the cashier. I have addressed the issues of the pricing with one of the managers and came back 2 weeks later only to see the issue is still there. But this takes the cake.They sold me a 22 mag handgun that was the display case model that wouldnt fire when I tried to shoot the firearm, then on the phone they were all about making it right which is awesome. I go in the following day and well they were as helpful as an ice pick lobotomy. They employe that was to help me tried as little as possible to actually help me figure out a solution. The issue with said firearm is its a striker fired gun that has been dry fired alot as evidence on the strickers are broken where the meet up with edge of the chamber if loaded it wouldnt hit do to the casing being there and the employe was like well its your fault i have had the gun for almost exactly 48 hours before finding the issue then they bounced to its a manufacturing issue witch it isnt its because it has been missed use in the store making it a store issue. After a while of them blaming me who just bought it. They said well we can send it off to the manufacturer which is fine but they refused to put down in the report it was A display case model which is not correctly filling out a report. And well wasnt happy when they said I would have to pay out of my own pocket for the gun to be shipped so 50 dollars for the gun to be shipped both ways. For the miss use of the fire arm and breaking of the firearm happened in the store before I purchased it they should pick up that 50 dollar tab.

The archery dept is on point great work on my kids bow.

Went there yesterday on day 3 of being open. Everyone in town was there. Long lines as to be expected but they had plenty of help. Took a long time but could not have gone any faster. Limits on ammo that is in high demand but at least they had some. Friendly staff. Numbers given at door for help at gun counter. HUGE selection of guns and ammo.

I’m active duty military and they wouldn’t sell me a handgun even though I provided the required documentation. Gave me grief about my out of state drivers license. I would not recommend to any military person.

Taking advantage of your customers during this time on ammo prices. You have lost me as a customer. There ammo is double other stores.

I love vances for years!!!!my go to store since I can remember and jonathon Dias as long as your home of record is Ohio and says in your docs your good because I ordered stuff online when I was stationed in Germany then pcsed to fort eustis va but was in ohio for about 3 weeks and my home of record was ohio so after a little confusion a person there at Hebron knew their stuff and I was good to go.so good luck brother and watch your six.i swear by Vanceoutdoors.

They never have enough staffing. Went on multiple occasions and the wait to look at guns was up to 2 hours. Knowing it was going to be busy why not have enough staff to handle it. I left each time and purchased from Olde English.

Website says in stock and you pick a number stand in line and fill out all this info only to find out the gun hasnt been in stock for over a month.

Called and asked if they had a firearm, drove an hour to purchase it - it wasnt there. Also, there were way too many people trying to buy firearms at one time.

Hit or miss I guess they always miss huh... Vance has such potential but fail in most ways recently. I have placed items on layaway and showing up to pick up with them being sold. Several other things including long wait times for the phone and being told inventory was there and it not being there.

Absolutely recommend at least stopping and checking this place out !! Some of the floor employees however think its acceptable to leave a child unattended for fear of being 6 feet from someone else.

Brenda and Ray did a great job being the only 2 cashiers on a really busy day ( cause the others called off work ). Fire those call offers and promote Brenda and Ray!

They had alot of inventory when others havent but their prices were double if not triple other stores.

My wife and I shopped at 3 of the 4 stores in the last two weeks and you couldnt ask for better customer service with all the employees we interacted with!!

Due to medical conditions with note from my dr they kicked me out of the store after showing proof for not wearing a face mask will never give my money to them again
