I have gone to Shannon for all of my tattoos and she is great. Very sanitary, professional, personable, and fair. I like that she is honest about tattoo placement/design. I have also gotten a piercing from her and again, she is great. Very clean and I would recommend her to anyone. Side note, she does amazing flowers and color tattoos.

I had my septum pierced here in June. The process was exciting, and the woman who pierced me made me feel very accepted and welcomed. The price was good. Will definitely come back to get my vertical labret piercing!

I’ve gotten 4 piercings here, the older lady messed up my smiley, gave me absolutely no cleaning tips and a little girl rung us up. I also got a small tattoo that is a very simple line pattern, one side is far thicker than the other. I would not recommend getting pierced or tattooed here.

I got my septum pierced and its my first piercing so I was pretty nervous but she made me feel comfortable and helped relax my nerves. It turned out beautifully, healed very nicely. I will definitely be back here for more piercings in the future.

I got my navel pierced by Heather and she was amazing! I came in as soon as they opened and it was super quick and easy. She gave good instruction on how to clean it and what to look for. I have had no swelling, redness or pain so far and it looks so cute!!

I first got my belly button pierced when I was 14 at Skin Deep Design. When I was 16 I began getting tattoos and skin deep is where I went to receive my first tattoo. I was so amazed and so pleased by the job that Shannon did that I have gotten seven tattoos from her since my first one. She is an amazing artist and has a very clean shop. I wish there was a no star option. I had to pay $60 for a cartilage piercing. Just for them to pierce my ear with the wrong jewelry. It was nose piercing jewelry. No backing. Constantly coming in and out of my new piercing making my ear so tender and almost infected. Now I M in an actual tattoo and piercing shop getting the botched job fixed. They messed up my piercings. I went to H&H and they said they will fix them for me once they heal shut and he did an amazing job piercing my daith! Highly recommend H&H and do not go to skin deep! They arent certified and the after care is home made. Not legit.

Went in for a daith piercing to see if it would help migraines. Walking out I knew it wasnt the correct placement but she seemed confident that it would help. After 5 months and no difference, I went to a different shop and got a REAL daith piercing and am already having less pain after 3 days.Only getting 2 stars because everyone there was so nice.Not to mention I spent $50 there for the wrong piercing and when I got the right one it was only $30. Would not recommend going here for any piercing, unless you dont care where they pierce you.

What seems to be a fairly normal tattoo parlor turned out to be this years biggest grinch, originally quoting me 50$ they ended up taking three hours to do a piece that should have been done in 45 minutes ( very basic 3X3 line drawing) and charged me 200$ . All so they could stuff their coffers this Christmas season. Well I hope it was worth it because i am never going to this parlor again and strongly recommend you look into them more before making your appointment. Ps. I watched the artist go as slow as possible and regularly stop and make small talk with the people around her.

I got a simple tattoo on my wrist. I asked for it to be 1x1 at most and its at least 2 in length. The lines were very uneven and it looked almost nothing like the picture I sent her. Shannon talked so much, but couldnt talk and work at the same time and took forever to do a simple tattoo. My friend and I were there for about two hours (we both got a tattoo) and it could have taken just an hour to do in my opinion. My friend and I got completely different tattoos but somehow both paid the same price, which was way too much for the small tattoos we got. Shannon spent a lot of time complaining about former employees and rehashing the past, that we didnt even ask her about. Definitely do not recommend getting a tattoo here.

I have to say I have had numerous pieces done by this shop over the years, and I have never had a complaint. They are very serious about tattooing, piercing, and art; and have a lot of talent and care for what they do. Everything I have brought them has been custom work, not just flash out of some book, and they have always been spot on.

If I could give this place NO stars I would. Shannon is very disrespectful and made me feel so unwelcome I decided against even getting the tattoo. It was a finger tattoo about 3 inches max, when we first discussed it she had told me it would be about 70-75$ MAX, then when I went in again to get it done, she made it 150$. It was absolutely riddiculous, I have seen some of the work shes done, and the patients told me she either went to slow or to fast and way to deep. DO NOT GO HERE. All of the other comments and rates are her PERAONAL friends! She didnt even say hi to me for goodness sake!

I did a bit of research before deciding to make the 6 hour drive from Portland to Lewiston with my minor child, and Skin Deep came out on top. Still, I was a little freaked out, not having any experience with tattoos, and relenting to allow my 16 year old daughter to have one when I know so little about the process?? That uneasiness did not last long. Shannon and her family put us at ease immediately with their friendly and caring demeanor, the shop was absolutely spotless, and filled with Shannons beautiful artwork. I swear she went through an entire box of gloves just during the preparation! During the process Shannons soothing voice and gentle manner helped my daughter remain calm and keep from flinching, and the end result was perfection - even better than the picture we came in with. Very grateful to all of them for the positively wonderful experience!

I went here to get my first tattoo of a nautical star on my hip. Shannon was very nice and was very helpful. The tattoo was a little expensive but for the service and cleanliness of the shop I did not mind and the tattoo came out perfectly. I am biding my time until I can come in again to either get a piercing or another tattoo. I would definitely tell people to look up Skin Deep Design on facebook and take a look at the photos. What you see is what you get. I highly recommend going to Shannon. However, when I first walked in it creeped me out because of the stainless steel almost punk look of the place but it is not as bad as I thought, I was mostly nervous about getting my tattoo. Nonetheless, she is clean and helps you to get the tattoo you want for a decent price.

The first time I went to Skin Deep it was to fix another shops screw up when I lived in the Lewiston area, that was 10 years ago. I have not let anyone else touch me since. I no longer live in the area but I am more than happy to drive 2 hours for all my tattoos. I am a Firefighter and most of my tats have a Firefighter theme. I have referred alot of my coworkers to her and they are now lifetime customers as well. I no longer come with a picture in mind, I gave her artistic freedom years ago. I tell her what I want and why it is so important in my life and she translates it into art. This year I came in for my yearly birthday tat. It was a large piece that runs from my ankle to my knee of St. Florian (The patron Saint of Firefighters). It took over 8 hours and Shannon stayed open 2 hours past business hours to complete the piece in one sitting. I consider Shannon a friend, along with her boyfriend Magnus, and her daughter Heather.Sincerely, Life Long Customer
