I know this is weird to say but I almost wish I had a transmission issue so I could use their service hah.I am vulnerable to being overcharged due to my lack of car repair knowledge, so finding a trustworthy place is paramount. I spoke to Jim who demonstrated exceptional professionalism and told me I brought my car in time before I did any serious damage to the transmission, and although the required repair is not a service they offer at the shop, he did refer me to a place that could.Thank you to everyone at The Transmission Shop! :)

Car was dropped off on Sunday. Two days to get the parts as stated. It could of been done on Wednesday as promised. Car was not ready till Friday night and could not pick it up till Saturday because I dont work your schedule. I dropped it another star because Mike thinks 5 days to swap out a torque converter is acceptable and arguing with a customer that just said his team knows their stuff.

Very pleased with this shop. I brought in my old Nissan... Unfortunately the transmission is shot, but there was no charge and Jim was super helpful with all of the questions I had. I wish they did more than transmission repair/replacement because I would love to use them for all of my car maintenance needs!! This place did me right. My GMC Yukon blew a transmission and I knew it would be an expensive repair. I was quoted over $4000 to have a used transmission installed by Christian Brothers Automotive in Frisco, TX. I started calling around other shops and quickly realized that many of the shops in the Frisco area were overpriced. Seems the rich people in my neighborhood have no problem overpaying for auto repairs, so shops can demand high prices. I decided to look outside my area, and Im glad I did. I spoke with Jim at The Transmission Shop (Lewisville) and quickly got educated. Rather than install a used transmission, they offered to rebuild mine, for literally HALF the price! It cost me a little over $2000 instead of the $4000 that I was quoted elsewhere. Plus, The Transmission Shop specializes in transmission repair, so I felt better having them do this highly specialized repair. Now, it did take them over a week to complete the job, so I had to be patient. That was the tough part, being without my truck. However, the cost savings was well worth it. The work was performed in a professional manner, they treated me right and now my truck is back on the road running smoother than ever. The lesson learned here is, ALWAYS call around and check the prices!!! Dont get ripped off. A little legwork can save you a lot of money. Depending where you live, you can be overpaying for auto repairs. The Transmission Shop is an honest shop. They have earned my endorsement and I can wholeheartedly recommend them.

My 6 year old Tahoe transmission was slipping. I needed a reliable company that wouldnt rake me over the coals like Chevy would. Decided to take it to Jim at Transmission Shop. Dropped it off on the weekend, they are closed, and they took a look at it first thing Monday. Jim was very knowledgeable and right on time. Quoted me what it would cost to rebuild the transmission. Gave me an estimate on when the job would be completed and sure enough right on time on that date. I will say he was very professional and the job seems to good. Car is running great again. I cant say if the price was cheaper that most, but I can say I would rather pay for quality vs. cheap and risk breaking down in the future.

Would highly recommend! I needed a standard transmission fluid service, after pricing multiple dealers and other local shops, Jim was very friendly and educated me on what they do in comparison to a standard dealer/shop and to help get me the longest life of my transmission. They were very reasonably priced in my opinion, will go back for future service needs no question.

Advised me in advance that if I have warranty on the car that they would need to reach out to the warranty company to process the claim and that it would be a couple of days for the authorization. About as poor as quality and value get. I had my truck in because it was dropping out of overdrive into neutral on acceleration. Jim took it in and called me the next day to say it was just worn out and needed a rebuild. As the truck had 200K miles on it I agreed and he did the work. In the process Jim called to say the truck needed a rear main seal in the engine. Mind you there had never been a noticeable leak but while the transmission is out is the time to do this work so I authorized the additional cost. I got it back after a week to find that the original problem had not been solved. I called Jim and he said bring it back. I took it back and left it an additional 5 days while they diagnosed and replaced the valve body. I am not sure what I paid $2500 for a Rebuild for if they reinstalled the old valve body as that is one of the highest failure parts of these transmissions. I got it back again and now it shifts WAY too hard and there is a BAD oil leak between the Engine and Transmission as well as a clicking noise on deceleration. I am out $2500 my truck is worse than it was when I took it in the first time and I am afraid to return it for additional warranty work as I dont want to know what else they can mess up. Not to mention that they left my wiring disconnected when they returned it the first time. I will take it to my regular mechanic who I should have let install a rebuilt transmission in the first place. I lost two weeks use of my vehicle and $2500 only to have worse problems than when I took it in. I would ask for a refund but I am not sure I can stand to talk to this guy again. So here I sit, Three days later, after repeated promises that the owner will address my problem directly, with no actual contact from the owner. There has been no actual attempt to resolve the issue. This is terrible.

2008 Ford F150 had a check engine light and on regular driving mode it would not go into 4th. Manually turned O/D off and the truck would drive perfectly.Took the issue to a dealership and they estimated $4,000.Worked with Jim at the Transmission Shop and was quoted $2.500. Truck was towed from the dealership to the shop free of charge.5 days to complete, on the drive home after 10-15 minutes of driving TRANS FAULT error appeared. Truck was returned and the transmission was taken apart. Jim honestly said that the transmission would have to be rebuilt again.5 days to complete and the truck is shifting as smooth as butter.Very responsive to texts and phone calls and was honest with everything going on. Highly recommend to anyone that needs to rebuild their transmission.

Jim knew the answer to every question I had regarding 4-wheel drive systems and helped me to find the solution I needed to modify my 4WD Expedition. He told me the things I could (and couldnt do) and how they would affect the transmission and transfer case. A super nice guy who is knowledgable and helpful. I was referred to the Transmission shop from Brakes Plus. I called Jim after hours last Saturday and he even answered the phone. He was very Knowledgeable and professional about the diagnosis. Highly recommend. I took my car in to check my transmission as I first took it to the dealer and they said I needed a new transmission to the cost of 5300.00 and I needed both front hub assembly to the tune of 530.00 each. They charged me 49.95 to tell me this. The transmission shop looked at it for free and told me i did not need a new transmission it was my front hub assembly which I did not mention to them. They were honest and did a good job and it was less than 1000.00. I recommend them . Thank you the transmission shop for getting me back on the road safely ! I will definitely go back if I have any other issues!

Automatic transmission went out on my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Transmission was rebuilt within three days and works great and shifts smoothly through the gears. Very pleased with service and a repeat customer. 1986 300ZX needed a new clutch and The Transmission Shop did the work and never a moments trouble since. Highly recommend.

I found the Transmission Shop on Google reviews. They had spectacular reviews so I decided to bring in my classic Ford truck. The truck’s transmission had just started slipping badly. I received a call back from them about a hour after dropping it off with good news. A transmission tube had become loose and it was low on fluid. They tightened the tube and replaced the missing fluid and it solved it. These guys are honest and know their stuff. I highly recommend the Transmission Shop.

So far, so great! Top notch customer service, and a transmission I feel confident will last, at least another 200k miles. Its still within first day of use, but Im left feeling confident that any issues, though unlikely, would be handled in timely manner. Jim helped me with his geniune respect and care for me as a new customer. It was hard to decide on where to go until I was fortunate enough to call him for the professional courtesy, and mechanics on site.

I dropped my truck off cause it wouldn’t move . The guys took my truck in diagnosed the issue and unfortunately i needed a new transmission. I was happy with the price and off they went . Got my transmission in and there were other issues . Something was wrong with my wiring to the trans . Thinking this was going to cost me a lot more i was ready for the bad news . To my surprise they said “ we do everything we can to stick to what was quoted to you “. The manager spent another 6 hrs chasing down the issue and finally it was fixed . Great price and expertise on auto transmission fluid and filter replacement!

I’ve used this shop three times now and am very pleased with the service and work. The first time I needed both rear wheel hubs done and the work was done great and at a good price! The second time was just a few bolts and seals that needed replacing that were leaking fluid and again it was very reasonable pricing. The most recent time was a long list of transmission problems and they were very open and honest about everything and advised that with the type of car I had and the problems that they found they wouldn’t recommend fixing it and it was probably time for a new car. I trust this place very much and will always take my vehicles here!

This is a great shop to work with. Jim made the experience worth while. First off, he answered my online request for information on his day off via e-mail. That really helped me because I knew I was in a Jam. The first place I took my car to wanted too much for the repair. I ended up saving a little less than $7000. I knew the first place was overcharging and I knew I could get a better deal on parts and labor through the Transmission shop.Second, a little after I took my car in, there was a leak in the transmission. I took it back and they fixed it for free thinking they had made an error during the first repair. Its so nice to know a shop is out there saving me money and standing behind their work. Ill take all my cars there for transmission needs. (Hopefully Ill never have to.)

Called the shop had my truck towed and transmission replaced. Also had engine problems and that was taken care of quickly. The price was great and they kept me up to date. The customer service is great. I took it to the one in Lewisville and the manager Jim is the best guy to deal with . He is on top of his game. JIM was extremely helpful and informative when he worked on my 2015 Civic (CVT Transmission). He and his supplier were able to find me a low mileage transmission after mine went kaput on me unexpectedly. I took my car to Honda and they wanted an arm and a leg with a crummy warranty. Jim had my car towed to him at no cost to me, performed a diagnostic to confirm what was wrong and let me know transmission was totally shot. He found me a replacement with low mileage, and then found me another EVEN LOWER mileage replacement while offering a warranty that was 3x what Honda offered. He gave me an estimated time frame on repair, and severely undercut his estimated time and I had my vehicle back within a day and a half of him receiving it!! This was such a huge relief to me. Jim is knowledgeable and knows what hes doing and I didnt even for one moment have a feeling that I was being ripped off or lied to. Jim and his crew did an excellent job rebuilding the transmission in my pickup. The trans had gone out 8 months ago and it was parked on the street in front of my house. Tags were out and the police wanted it moved within 48 hours and I happened to be out of state when they came knocking.I called Jim and he had it towed and rebuilt by the time I got back. Rarely does a repair shop tell you honestly what you’re facing up front and provide free diagnostics in the process. Jim did that and more with sincerity, honesty, forthrightness and great customer service. Jim gave us the worst case scenario with an estimate for repairs including different options of resolution. Diagnosis indicates a faulty sensor and not a $4000 transmission. Thanks Jim. I won’t hesitate to return for any service we may require in the future.

I sent a truck to Doug at The transmission shop in Lewisville. I was told by a general repair shop that I needed a new transmission or have it rebuild. The truck would not shift I was expecting a costly rebuild. After sending it to Doug he quickly diagnosed the problem. It was a simple electrical fix that cost next to nothing. Its hard trying to find an honest shop especially when its transmission because you just have to take their word for it. Doug could have easily taken advantage of me and sold me a transmission job and I would have never known the difference. Thanks for being honest. I went to Bob to have my transmission rebuilt and even tho my car gave them a lot of trouble, I had to bring it back seven times before they fixed it. Bob was wonderful. He worked with our budget and just has the Best Customer service I’ve seen anywhere. I highly recommended these guys.

I can’t rave enough about this place. Bob encouraged us to come in for a second opinion after we had a bad experience at a dealership. These guys pinpointed a check engine light code that other shops couldn’t (or refused to) do. Other shops quoted us more than double to repair something that wasn’t even the problem to begin with. Bob fully explained our issue and fixed it at a fair price without cutting corners. I even understand a little about transmissions now. Color me impressed! I didnt have the best luck with this place. I have an old school chevelle and had them rebuild the trans. It worked fine before I took it in, it just leaked. About $1200 later my trans works fine but leaks more than ever. I get it is old and will leak, just dont really care for the work I had performed.

Great transmission shop! Good communication and very honest. I had an aftermarket clutch put in my Ram 3500. They did a great job and worked with me on the aftermarket parts. I also took an expedition that I thought had a shudder but it turned out to be something else. They did not charge me for the time they spent diagnosing it.

Came in on a mechanics advice to have them replace my main seal. They took it in and looked at it, then told me it was my pan and not the main seal. Didnt charge me for the examination! Very honest company!

Great Experience. Brought in an old Bronco II and as happens with older cars, they ran into a couple snags with a clutch and clutch cylinder replacement. Jim kept me up-to-date on the progress and they knocked it out quickly.

I have a somewhat rare 97 Jag, on which a lot of places dont work. The Transmission Shop was able to quickly and accurately diagnose my issues and provided a quote prior to starting any work, sending pics of the broken part. They fixed it promptly and at the quoted price even though it took a little more work than estimated. Are very honest, friendly and upfront about what needs to be done and why. Highly recommended.

Ive brought my car here a couple times. The first time for a fluid change and then the second time for a noise that it was making. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Our daughter had transmission problems with her car . Called us and we found them online . Called and talked to them . Seemed like real nice knowledgeable people . Talked to Jim at the front desk at the Lewisville shop . He sent a wrecker for her car and had it fixed in two days with a used transmission with a year warranty. For a fraction of the price of the dealership . (Honda) . I didn’t mention we live about 50 miles from Lewisville we didn’t really want to drive down there to mess with all of this and didn’t have to it was all done over the phone . I hope we don’t have to but any more transmission trouble I will definitely use them again .

I cannot recommend The Transmission Shop enough! I needed a complete rebuild on my Chevy Suburban. I can rebuild the motor in my sleep but knew absolutely nothing about transmissions. I did my research. Talked to a few different shops. Before pulling the trigger I decided to call just one more. I called on a Saturday. I thought something was wrong with Google because all the shops I saw on Google showed that they were closed. I figured Id try anyway. Turns out most of the shops are closed on Saturday. I called The Transmission Shop even though it too showed closed and I actually got an answer. It was Mike, the owner. Very nice and knowledgeable guy. Took the time on a day off to answer the phone and answer my questions. Very impressive! He was able to beat every quote I received (by far!) as well as actually replacing ALL of the parts necessary to rebuild the transmission. The one thing I did learn was that most of the quotes I had received from other shops, after more research, were not replacing all the parts necessary and were going to charge more if those parts needed replacing. The transmission shop included everything necessary. I was also told by most of the shops I spoke with that they offered a one year warranty. Three years with The Transmission Shop. Again very impressive! They had my truck for 3 days and it was back with me. Very quick turnaround! I had called two or three times over the three days to check on progress and had a couple of more questions. Always got an answer and they took the time to explain everything. The truck is running and shifting perfectly. Again, I cannot recommend The Transmission Shop enough. These guys are the real deal! They have a customer for life! Thanks guys!

David and his team were extremely helpful in taking time to explain all the entire process of what needed to happen to repair my transmission. He was able to share some of the pitfalls that customers experience as they shop around from years in the industry. We found The Transmission Shop to be extraordinarily helpful, professional, and very fair in price. We were very comfortable with entrusting them with our vehicle and appreciated the warranty they stand by.

We picked the Transmission Shop for our Jeep SRT8 after a lot of research. I was really skeptical at first based on the general reputation of some shops. The reviews here speak for themselves.After speaking with Jim several times, I was satisfied that he knew his stuff and we pulled the trigger. We went over some options as far as upgrades and strengthening, and decided on a plan. They only had it a few days and then it was ready.After some break-in, we are extremely happy with the transmission/converter, Jim, and his shop. I highly recommend them to anyone local that wants things fixed properly the first time. And, if you still have doubts, call and talk to Jim.

I want to leave my honest opinion. The transmission shop stole so much money from me it is insane, they rebuilt my transmission for 6,000 dollars, when rebuilds online, or slightly used ones online cost around 1000, 2000 and maybe maximum of around 2,500. I remember the owner reaching out to me and saying he had issues with this shop, he fired all the staffing and promised to fix their mistake. But I still got ripped out of nearly 4000$ I would recommend highly you think twice about coming here.

They did an excellent job fixing my wifes car. No hassles and very knowledgeable. Fast work and friendly staff I will continue my business with then if I ever have problems again.

These guys honor their work and will do everything they can to fix your transmission. I had a real problematic transmission and they went above and beyond to get it fixed.

Outstanding service on my daughters Mercedes. I basically knew what the issue was, they confirmed it. Service was fast and done right the first time. Did not try to up sell me any services I did not need like other shops have tried to. Rare to find an honest shop you can trust anymore but I trust the Lewisville Transmission Shop.

Had problems with a previous transmission shop so I brought it in to bob at the lewisville location and he take care of me. Personally Im scared of transmission shops because I feel like if a shop sneezes on my transmission Ill be in the whole 400 dollars but bob was very helpful and calming assuring me everything will get done. He kept his word and 3 business days later my truck is running like a dream! definitely recommend anyone who is wondering what shop to go to; go here!

I went to the transmission shop because I was told by a previous transmission repair shop that my 4x4 transfer case could not be repaired. David and his team of technicians came through and fixed my truck! I am very happy with the outstanding customer service and professionalism at the transmission shop in Lewisville, TX! I would recommend this shop to anyone now. I cant wait to take my other truck to this shop because they did such an excellent job on my 4x4. Good work guys!

I had the opportunity of dealing with David when I took my car to The Transmission Shop, and it was during those days that we experienced the ice. I had to wait a little longer for my car to be completed, but I was informed of everything that was going on and I patiently waited and in return, I received great service and compensation for the wait. Thats A BLESSING...I would refer anyone to them.

Great shop. I called them up to have warranty work done from a performance shop in Houston that had my truck in 3 times in the last year and couldnt get it fix. brought it to The Transmission shop and they fixed it right the first time and walked me through all that they did to ensure I would be happy with the work done.

VERY BAD COVER UP!!!! YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO GIVE THE CUSTOMER A QUOTE FOR PARTS AND REPAIRS BEFORE YOU DO ANY WORK TO THEIR VEHICLE!!!!! I wrote a review about being charged for a repair that I didnt authorize and the owner made a poor attempt to justify his actions. First of all before I brought my vehicle to The Transmission Shop I was able to go to youtube and diagnose the problem myself. The shift cable came of at the gas station. I fixed it and drove the vehicle home. When I pulled into my driveway which is on an incline the cable slipped off again but because the car was on an incline so I could no longer reach the cable to reconnect it. So I called a tow truck to have it towed to the nearest shop.So yes my vehicle wasnt moving when I brought it in but I could have easily gone under the truck and reconnected the cable since I was no longer on an incline.So please dont make attempts to save face, just apologize and keep it moving Mike!!!Have a Wonderful Day!!!!!1
