What an amazing experience. Gary Atkinson is great to deal with. He was very understanding and made great suggestions when I tried to go off the reservation with my wish list. He was able to guide me to a proper decision and made great suggestions. There were a couple things that I threw at him that he did not know but asked others in the office and then said he would find out a definite answer and call me back. I cant wait to find out new forever home as we go into this next chapter of our lives with Gary working with us. Thank you Oakwood home for having a great product and amazing staff that truly care about the person coming in the door instead of seeing them as a commission or a dollar sign. Oakwood Homes Is a nice mobile home seller. They have very pretty homes and nice staff.

I don’t really know where to begin. I wouldn’t even give them one star. The home we purchased from Oakwood has been the biggest and costliest mistakes of my entire life. Two years later, we are still having problems. We should’ve backed out before closing due to the terrible communication and misrepresentation by the salesperson we dealt with. She made numerous mistakes along the way. Plus, it took several months before we could even move in due to issue after issue. Unfortunately, I didn’t listen to my gut and am paying the price. I’m miserable in this house, but the land it is on is a piece of Heaven, so I can’t sell. We have sent several lists and numerous photos of things that they said they would fix. Two years later there are still many things left undone. We have had several visits from Oakwood’s various repairmen and contractors. Sometimes they fix one or two things. Sometimes they fix nothing because they don’t have the right materials or tools. Our stainless farmhouse sink was installed improperly and leaks around the sides terribly. They’ve been out twice to replace the counters around it... every time there is a problem. Most recently, the hole for the sink wasn’t cut correctly, so still we wait and pray the countertop doesn’t fall in from moisture. We’ve had to repaint because the walls are uneven and apparently painted with chalk water. There are so many gaps that I’m not sure the “energy efficiency” rating even applies. We can feel air coming in at the base of the walls. Nails that were left loose on the subfloor have come up through the vinyl flooring, the crown molding and baseboards look horrible- uneven, sharp corners, mismatched ends...the list goes on. Our massive, stainless, Frigidaire Gallery side by side hasn’t been right since we bought the house. Oakwood didn’t order the right cabinets for the trim, the fridge feet weren’t put on correctly, the drawers continue to slide open on their own, and the latest... we are having to call a repairman from Frigidaire out to replace the seal and take a look at the set up because we believe it’s causing the temperature to rise. The fridge looks awful because they can’t seem to get the trim to fit and still have the cabinets above it open. The cabinets are the absolute worst I’ve ever seen, even in older mobile homes. I’ve cut myself on the unevenly matched edges, they’re crooked, and I suspect the wrong color was ordered. I ordered gray but everyone agrees they are brown. I’ve cried many tears over this mistake. Even their corporate office won’t return my calls. I am about to have a private inspector come look at how the home was installed and compare it to the claims made by the company to make sure it was done correctly. I caution you not to make the same mistake I did. Even with the housing market the way it is and lumber prices through the roof...rent, wait, live in a camper before you buy from Oakwood.

They did I good job in the beginning before we close.. but the people they use to deliver and setup terrible after year still having problems because of corners they cut setting up home.

I want to report a grievious misrepresentation by a sales person, which has me out of $1000.00 and a home. I recently worked with Gary Atkinson at Oakwood Homes on Hwy 378 in Lexington, SC. I was shown a model of the Rocketeer model 4608 on Saturday, Nov. 14. I was concerned that the home could not be delivered until April, so I did not commit to anything. Gary emailed me about two days later and said they were building a new model of that home that could be delivered on February 19 of 2021 and I wouldnt have to wait until April, but I would have to hurry and put a $1000.00 hold on it, to keep anyone else from buying it. I returned that Saturday, Nov. 21 to show the house to my son. I talked to Gary extensively and agreed to mail the check to him. It was sent via my online banking account and is was scheduled to be delivered on or before Nov. 30. I checked my account daily as it was processing then actually debited FROM my account. It should arrive at Oakwood on Monday 30th. I called Gary again during the week to check on the check and change the bathroom. He said NOTHING about a change in delivery, KNOWING the $1000 was to get a February delivery. I completed my loan application and called this morning, Saturday, November 28th, and told Gary I was might come in to bring the loan application so he could proceed. I did. I drove 45 miles (each way 90) to take the application to him, he had JUST talked to me less than two hours prior and said NOTHING about a change in delivery. He had not called or emailed me about a change in delivery. I had told him from the beginning timing was important, as it will involve a move for my son and storage, hence the $1000 HOLD. When I arrived at Oakwood, less than 2 hours after talking to Gary, he told me that allocations had been changed and he couldnt deliver until April. I dont know WHEN he planned to tell me this, as he had been told several times the HOLD check was in the mail. The WHOLE REASON for the $1000 was to get a MUCH NEEDED February delivery. He KNEW HE TOLD ME to send him $1000 to HOLD the Feb. house. He knew he emailed me and used that as a lure to keep me on the hook, as I would not have purchased if Id known I had to wait until April. He knew FEBRUARY would entice me. I was obviously upset. My money has been debited from my account, and I cannot stop payment on the check since it has been processed and is pending delivery on Monday. I tried. Gary was RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL, and seemed to care less. He said he could have my money refunded in 10-15 days. So, I am out $1000.00, not a little chump change. He was flippant when he said it was corporate and he couldnt do anything. He should have informed me IMMEDIATELY when he found out about the schedule change, as he knew I didnt want an April delivery, and he KNEW I was sending a thousand dollars to HOLD the Feb. delivery home. He could have told me when he talked to me on the phone two hours before I wasted a 45 mile drive two ways (90 miles) to turn in the loan application. Now I have to wait 10- 15 days after Monday to get my money (which I need) back, and Ill have to find housing elsewhere, as an April delivery will not work logistically for me. My son cannot live with his things in the woods until April. I am FURIOUS at the way I was treated, and my son was furious at the way Gary talked to me, his mother. Luckily, he didnt let Gary know how mad he was. Gary lost three sales for Oakwood today: mine, my friend who steered me there, and another couple who was looking. I let them know he told me $1000 would HOLD the home for February, then let me know after numerous phone calls and three visits, that he couldnt deliver after all. I dont know WHEN he would have decided to tell me about the change in delivery. I want my $1000 back IMMEDIATELY, not in 10-15 days. I dont care whos policies are what. I am thinking of suing for false solicitation of HOLD funds and misrepresentation and false promises. Stay away!

Very nice selection of manufactured homes and ideas for one. Nice, professional staff to show you the models on hand, specifically showing you exactly what youre seeking. 😗. Clean lot and facilities inside and outside of the units and their office facility. Definitely worth a look and inquiry.

I am now a first time homeowner because of Sonya Dana...if you are in the market please go see her she is awesome and will definitely whatever she can to help you out....i literally was on her phone with something different everyday and she never once got frustrated

If I could give no stars I would. These people are sleepy people that see lazy and do nothing to help anyone. And do everything illegally without titles they should be out of business I dont see how no one has sued them yet their time will come and they will see how much they truly affect others life in a negative impact

Oakwood is so crooked. It took me 5 months before I move in my house after my closing and before I moved I had a house payment due and oakwood said it wasnt anything they could do about it, so I move in my house last month and its alot of things in the house that need to be improve and the manager wrote everything down and no one has came to do anything and its been a month. I wish I never would have dealt with them cause its so embarrassing that some family and friends look at my house and said this is ridiculous and I wouldnt recommend anyone to go there

I only gave one star because you have to inorder to make a post.The service was horrible once the closing was done. I had a salesman all but call me stupid. Our house still is not right. Cabinets are crooked. They had to come out and reset the house because they didnt level it correctly. They had to repair not once but several times the drywall. The marriage wall joining looks like it was done by amateurs. Finally after being in the house for a few months no one has called to see how we are and if everything was fixed like it was supposed to be.
