DANGER!!!! PLEASE READ!!!!!AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST, THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!The worst experience ever from an auto shop. After 10 days in shop I was told I could pick up my vehicle, at closing time. Was made to pay for repairs in the amount of $3100.64 before I could get my key. No test drive. They told me my vehicle had more issues only after they said they fixed the issue I brought it to them for. I had to have transmission rebuilt. They Claim after rebuilding my transmission that it was then that was the first time they actually turned my vehicle on. When I tried to start, after paying them, nothing happened. They were ready with a technician with a jump starter, they knew the battery was dead and said nothing to me. Battery was not dead when vehicle was delivered to them for transmission repair. After jump started I heard the most awful sound ever heard from an engine. I have no idea what the sound is and they could not tell me. My vehicle never made this sound before. When questioned about the sound as they were locking their doors, they told me they do not know and they do not work on this type of engine! As I am standing in front of their front door, in shock, wondering what I just paid $3100 for, they proceeded to get in their vehicles and drive away, leaving me there. With no other choice I attempted to drive home. I made it 2 miles down the road and the engine overheated and shut down. Smoke is coming from radiator and engine area. There is a puddle beneath my vehicle. Enough to travel down the road and make another puddle. In rush hour traffic I had to call a tow truck at another cost of $90. Called the shop the next day and spoke with the same person I had been speaking with through the entire experience. That is when he told me the vehicle had never been turned on before transmission repair And claimed that after making the repair is when it overheated and the noise began. They said again they do not work on this type of engine. CALLED COOPERATE FROM NUMBER ON MY RECEIPT FOR BREAKDOWN AFTER SERVICE, went to a voicemail to which a message was left to call me back without explaining the issue. Received a call back, and explained situation to the representative who said she would contact the shop and would call me back. That was two weeks ago and have not heard anything back. Have sent emails through cooperate website with no return. These people have stolen my money and ruined my vehicle. My vehicle is sitting in the same place in front of my house as it was the day tow truck dropped it off. I am unable to drive it as the engine will shut down by itself before I can pull out. I had a perfectly running engine before letting AAMCO touch my vehicle. VERY VERY POOR EXPERIENCE ALL AROUND. Have absolutely no idea what they did to my vehicle but they are wanting to deny any liability. Have not been able to work as I work out of my vehicle. The name of the individual I dealt with at the local shop is LOU. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!

My 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 had to have the whole rear end done over. Lou worked with me to find a fully rebuilt rear end and when it was delivered, the technician Ernie said, it wasnt the right one. Lou kept his poise and put it back on the truck, had the replacement there in 2 days and I was out the door. The truck runs great again and Im very grateful for both Lou and Ernie for doing such a great job for me. Thanks guys!!

Did work on my vechile..... brought it in and asked for a tune up but they called saying my emissions evac was the problem and they ended up fixing that....Told me didnt need the tune up...did work and I was satisfied

Do not be deterred if they cant communicate their intentions are well. Lee (the owner) is a great man and will work with you. He certainly went above expectation to create comfort for life as my vehicle was repaired.

AAMCO was absolutely phenomenal. Lou took good care of me and the staff was great. My car runs so much better than before and they told me in great detail what needed to be done, what should be done soon and what could wait. I know nothing about cars and I really know they were trying to help me out. The price was great. I will be going there for all my car needs

I took my 2003 F150 truck into AAMCO to inspect and fix my leaking transmission fluid. They determined the leak was in the transmission cooling line system and replaced the entire unit with a new assembly. During the replacement, they discovered another leak and am still awaiting for the part to come in to fix the leak. They have been very cordial and professional during this process and appreciate their trying to find a part to fix the leak for my old truck.

Took my civic in to get a noise fixed. Told me it was gonna be $685 to fix the noise. Paid. As soon as I drove off the lot after the repair the noise happened again. I took my car back 4 times and nothing changed. I gave up bringing my car back cause last time I went I was told that no one could work on my car cause apparently some of the employees were sick. I got a second opinion from OK Tires stating that the noise is most likely coming from the new engine mounts I had installed with AMMCO prior to this repair im complaining about. Its just so strange that even if you go to a verified location in America and pay honest, good money to fix a problem with your car, out of good faith, the shop can just take your money and not fix your car.

They are very honest and understanding. You can put repairs on a no interest card. It honestly has a family feel.

I was exasperated when the dealership where I take my vehicle to be serviced stated it needed a new transmission. The quote they gave me was outrageous, especially when I was told they do not install rebuilt transmission but new ones. Even though my car was barely drivable I managed to drive it home. When I googled auto shops that specifically deal with such repairs I immediately called AAMCO. When I called AAMCO in Lighthouse Point I was greeted by an amiable gentleman named Lou who happened to be the manager, and put my fears at ease. He gave me a quote based on what I had been told, but he assured me he would get a computer diagnostic once the car was brought in. I called a tow truck and it was delivered to his shop. He stated hell call me once he found out what was wrong. During the few days my vehicle was at AAMCO, Lou would call me to keep me posted on the specifics and progress of the repairs. Hes very attentive, knowledgeable, and very conscientious. He even put in a new dipstick at no charge that the dealerships months earlier somehow forgot to put in when I took it for an oil change. My car now runs smooth and drives as new. I highly recommend AAMCO of Lighthouse Point for their efficient work and prompt response.

Outside of the fact that I made an 8 AM appointment and did not get in until 8:45 I have no complaints. Very nice people. Quality work.

Owner was awesome to deal with! I was experiencing transmission issues with my 2018 suburban (no longer under factory warranty but under aftermarket warranty) all the Chevy dealers in my area were extremely backed up due to covid and loads of trucks with transmission issues. So I decided to have it diagnosed with aamco. I was treated greatly and definitely felt like my business was much appreciated. The owner let me know that my transmission had internal damages and definitely spoke with wisdom and knowledge since I have some knowledge myself about transmission internals I could tell this guy was spot on. He was happy to deal with my warranty company and had even pushed to get me a brand new GM certified transmission with a warranty. The warranty company only wanted to replace components at first but he worked his magic and used his expertise to get me a new one. I was updated daily and the whole process was taken care of in a timely fashion. Thanks to all the guys at aamco light house point my family and I are back on the road safely and confidently. You guys are the best!!!

This review is way over due.... I recently bought my used car a month ago and had issue after issues with it since the purchase. I was my surprise that my transmission was maybe in trouble so I searched and found Ammco. I talked to Lou and he told me to bring my car in and they will surely take a look at it and find the problem. Lou me and my girlfriend appreciate you so much!!! Not only were we in the process of moving when this happened funds were pretty tight but Lou made sure that no matter what we were going to find a way get my car back and fixed for a reasonable price. Thank you Lou and Ammco for not only meeting our deadline but working with us during these hard times!!!

We brought to these shop a durango 2011 to fix transmission issues, after a dignosis we decided to fix with them after agreeing over the phone, I asked them also to check a oil leak between the transmission and the engine and the person in charge told me it was rear main seal and that was part of the job, i was surprised and happy up to these point.In aproximately 2 days we paid and took the car home, apparently the car was fine.Around 2000 miles after the transmission was fixed a major oil leak, worse than before was happening. We took back to shop and they said it was transmission oil leaking on the radiator up front, we though no problem lets fox it, the bill was around 1000 dolars.We paid and took the car and finally the car is fine, but happiness did not last long. The problem was not fixed at all.We took the car to a trusted mechanic and he told the problem was the rear main seal, once again we brought the car to these shop and the mechanic lied to us saying that was problem with the oil pan gaskets and had nothing to do with the transmission and their work. I asked why the last time they said it was the radiator and the mechanic rudely told me that was the office problem, not his.We went to office and the person in charge, lee, treated us in a rudely manner giving us the excuse the problem was with the car beacause of the mileage. I told him that if we fixed the problem and continued, we would take to the next level, all he did was take the mileage and close the door, we felt discriminated since we are not americans and he was giving us lame excuses not to repair the car.We took the car to our trusted mechanic and he told us it have a leak on the oil pan gaskets but the major leak was on the rear main seal. We decided to fix first the whole gasket on the oil pan and the oil leaked continued between the transmission and the engine, not a surprise for us.We had to change rear main seal and checked parts and it was astonishing that they not included the rear main seal, that they told me it was included, which i asked 3 mechanics and thats is a must do when doing a transmission job.In conclusion we paid around 1000 dolars to our trusted mechanic fix their lousy job and now the car is fine.If you read the negative comments, they always going to have some excuse.They were with us extremely unprofessional, we felt discriminated the way they threated us, we felt since we not americans and maybe they could do whatever they wanted beacause of that reason.Take youre car to other shops and if you do fix tour car with them, check everything 10 times since you can not trust them!The only reason i gave 1 star is because i could not give 0 stars.The pictures attached is the rear main seal which was not replaced in 5000 dollars transmission job!

I called to make an appointment to get new brakes and new rotors. Lou was so nice and Customer Service oriented. He gave me a price and got me in just as he said. I paid exactly what was quoted on the phone. Then, he even did a diagnostic check for me because I was driving to Tampa with my vehicle so he made sure I had no problems along my trip, that was very nice of him to do. Lacy, the Administrator in the office was very nice too. Overall, it was a great experience.

First off, I just want to say Lou and Lee are very professional and are the best mechanics that I ever dealt with in my entire lifetime. My husband usually goes to them for all his service needs for his business truck and would come home bragging about how theyve helped him save money. My little brother came into town from Orlando to get his AC in his car fixed and didnt have to pay a thing right away. Recently, the engine in my Hyundai Sonata locked and wouldnt crank up. I took my vehicle to Lou and Lee and they both helped me with my car situation.The moral of the story is Lou and Lee are really for the people! They genuinely help you out and keep it REAL! I recommend this location to everyone! They are quick to work with you then to rip you off like most mechanic shops. If you or anyone you know are having issues with your/their vehicle, go to this location! You will not regret your decision to do so. The outcome will be EXCELLENT and afterwards, youll feel as if Lou and Lee are like family.

My daughters car broke down on Monday morning. We initially had it towed to a Toyota dealership not knowing what was wrong with it. After they looked at it, they quoted us $6,800 to replace the transfer case and drive shaft. I was in shock considering the vehicle only had 75k miles on it and thought Toyotas would last a lot longer before having any major issues. We decided to call another place to get a 2nd opinion and called AAMCO...he assured me he could repair it for less, which he did by about $2k... ended up not needing a new drive shaft! Highly recommend stopping here first before taking it to a dealership, who only knows how to replace stuff not repair it!

I spoke to the owner Lee and it turns out we both had a lot in common we spent time in the Marines, I took my car in and he gave me excellent work quality care at a great price I was truly satisfied.

I would not recommend this location or business online it says free ac check and they actually charge 150 just to check it waste of a drive 150 dollars is to much just to check AC and the man was so concerned on who checked my AC before he did but i just got this car 2 months ago so why would that even matter i recommend pep boys or a local mechanic. This location even charge 70 for a oil change dont waste your time.. I am a female maybe he thought he can get over on me

From the first conversation that I had with Art he made me feel like I had dailed the right phone number when I was calling around to get my Transmission fixed. As we all know its very expensive to fix a transmission and stressful when trying to figure out the right decision to make in what to do. Im happy I decided to call back for a second time after a two week thought process which in this time I came in contact with Lee the owner who treated me from the first conversation like I was family instead of a business deal. I am very pleased with the service I have received at this Aamco. Lou and the team did everything they could to make sure I would leave there with a working car. He kept me updated the whole time my car was in their hands. I felt like I was leaving my car with a family member to fix, I completely trusted them. Also I would love to thank Lacy for giving me a ride home the day I dropped my car off to the shop. And one last thing, I just wanted to apologize to Mario (I believe that’s his name) for the pepper spray incident. I left my pepper spray on my car keys and he accidentally sprayed himself in the face😂. All together it was a great experience and I’m so happy to have my car again. Great Experience!!! The sales people and managers where very helpful and understanding of my situation. They explained to me what was happening and what it would take to fix it. The mechanic had my vehicle repaired a lot faster than I expected and after two thousand miles driven my vehicle drives better than new. AAMCO Transmission is an awesome company to get your car repaired . Ive been a customer for quite sometime now . The reason why I do business with AAMCO, is due to my previous Employer I worked as a customer service rep for an Auto Warranty Company . If our customer was having problem with there Transmission, I would send them there . Also, most people are unaware AAMCO, just doesnt repair Transmissions but anything you can think of TOTAL CAR CARE . They also, give you a 25 point inspection of your vehicle . So, if something is about to go wrong they inform you of the findings . Recently, I took my vehicle for another Facility to get a Serving done because I didnt have time to take it too AAMCO. I was told I needed a repair that would have cost me over $600.00 . I was like something doesnt sound right . So, weeks later I took my vehicle for this location by appointment . I called Lou, and explained my concerns . He said, well Ms. Maxwell I would be happy to have my technicians to look it over for you . I said, if that was a problem you would have informed me? He said, Most definitely bring it in but also, if you had that issue you wouldnt be able to drive . So, after a recheck the previous company lied to me . So, honesty is the best policy, thats another reason why I love AAMCO Transmission in lighthouse point. Thanks to Lou, and his great staff they will always keep me as a HAPPY Customer!

I bought my car at Drive Time a year and a half ago. I have had minimal problems but when there is one, its major. Well my car stopped going into reverse and i called the warranty company that i have who directed me to AAMCO. I dropped the car off and spoke with Lou the next day. He was awesome!!! He told me he would be right on it and have it diagnosed and contact my warranty company which he did right away. The warranty company gave Lou a hard time but her was persistent. Once they finally gave him the approval, my car was fixed within 2 days. The car is back on the road and driving better than before.Thank you Lou and Lee!!! Having a Limousin service I have dealt with many car repair establishments. I found the Lighthouse Point AAMCO because I had a problem with another AAMCO service establishment that wouldnt honor their work. LHP AAMCO unselfishly took care of the problem without a any additional charges. It was very refreshing to see such a professional caring attitude. I am glad that I found a place that I can really depend on for knowledgeable, friendly service.

New to the area and with a poor experience with the local dealer, we brought our Subaru Outback in for assessment by the professionals here at AAMCO, Lighthouse Point. Although we ended up being directed back to the dealer based on availability of parts, potential warranty, etc. Lou and Lee gave us the most straight forward assessment we could ask for....no baloney, just honest input and problem description by the team that you would want to have your car work on by.....no charge...Thanks Guys! I travel 45 minutes just to come to this location, the reason is because of the friendly service and work they do in caring for my car. On Tuesday 11/24 around 7:30 pm I called AAMCO and spoke with Lou (amazing person!) and I explained him the situation because my BMW X5 started giving me issues when shifting gears. They gave me the run around and my car has extended warranty! guess what? AAMCO called my warranty company and it has been approved!!!!!!!!! Have a dear friend that is disabled on oxygen 24/7 but still has freedom to drive herself which is awesome. Her Transmission went out on her 2006 Ford. Facing way more than she could afford one of her other friends setup a Gofundme page. She has some awesome friends and we raised a good portion of what was estimated but still shy many hundreds of $. When presented with the challenge Lou stepped up and lowered the price to make it work. Not only are they excellent in repairs but have huge compassion! And she got their awesome 3 yr 36K warranty! STAY AWAY! Brought my 2005 BMW 645 on 1/26 because the transmission was not shifting correctly the engine was running smooth no problems. Received a call on Monday that the car might have a fuel pump issue which would be $125 to diagnose i allowed the inspection and received a call that there was no fuel issue but the car was misfiring (was not misfiring when i brought it in) they wanted to replace spark plugs and coils for $1500 (These components have nothing to do with the transmission shifting) They insisted this was the problem and not the transmission (Even though i received transmission malfunction code multiple times) I refused the repair knowing this was not the problem. I come to pick up the car and the car was misfiring (Car was not misfiring when i left it) I drove the car in limp mode to a shop i use for engine work HDWERKS he took off the engine cover and found a vacuum line intentionally unplugged to make it misfire plugged it back in and car was running just as i left it. Not only did I waste $125 for nothing but also had to undo what AAMCO did. This shop is crooked and would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

Best repair experience ever, and Ive had some great ones.Certainly paying for a new transmission is painful, but I had almost 400,000 miles on my Toyota Sienna, so it was not a big surprise. However, the unbelievable kindness, courtesy, professionalism, and just plain friendliness of the whole staff just blew me away. I read their reviews before going in, and I was skeptical. I was also 1200 miles from home and desperate. Many businesses would have exploited my situation. Thank God I chose their shop.Lee Konsker, Josh, Charlie, and Carmen didnt promise miracles, but rather a fair and honest evaluation of my vehicles needs. They answered all my questions and showed me the worn parts. I felt incredible relief knowing my van was in their care. I actually enjoyed my vacation because I knew our ride home would be smooth.One of the mechanics, Benjamin, climbed a ladder to get some forgotten items out of my van up on the lift. Outstanding! And rare.Ive put 14,000 miles on in the 7 weeks since the repair, and they have been absolutely boring, predictable, smooth, and reliable, the exact reasons I love Toyota.The price charged was very reasonable, about half what a dealership would charge, and I trust this AAMCO infinitely more. Their reputation rides on every repair they make, so they actually do the best possible every time.

Look I’ll be short and sweet. This shop cares about its customers returning and they were reasonably priced. They fixed my car’s problem even when it was hard to diagnose. I will be back.

I recently came to this Aamco location as I had past experiences with mechanics in Miami trying to rip me off and the rave reviews made me want to try it. First of all, I have a mini cooper and I know how difficult it is to work on this vehicle. Before arranging to bring it in, I called and spoke to Lee. He is a very nice guy and straight to the point, my only regret of our exchange was how clear I thought i had been in explaining what I was encountering with the car, but I digress. Let me begin with saying after I spoke to him he said I could get it towed to his facility to have free diagnosis. I agreed, tow company may not be affiliated and they were great. After 2 days with my car, I called. First bad sign. Second, he tells me its a $950 diagnosis fee because it was a transmission problem. Shocker. Long story short, when you get a call and the person is telling you its a mini cooper please tell them that right off the bat. He then proceeded to tell me best case scenario $1600. Worst case $6500. And in order to know $950. Sorry but no one will take a chance like that. You own a franchise who are experts with transmission, these things need to be on the table first so you dont disappoint a potential customer right off the bat. Towing company made $140 and I got nothing.

Im reading the reviews of this place, I cant believe they have the face to in order to find the problem charge you almost $ 1000 dollars. I am thankful for the review brenda wrote, and the others. If you do not possess neither the tools or the expertise to find out whats wrong with a car, just say it! dont just charge people a G just for find out the problem. A good professional does not need that. If you think find it out a given problem would be too expensive, warn the customer before hand, or recommend another solution. You most of car mechanic people, are pushing everybody around just because there is not a quality control system with a real consequence for your bad work. Keep at it, let;s see how you gonna put food in your plates when either cars are extremely cheap, or such system is enforced by law.

We had our sons transmission rebuilt here shortly before he left for college out of state. At the end of his warranty, his transmission started slipping and he took it in to a location in another state. His transmission was going to need another rebuild. We couldnt be more pleased with the customer service we received from Lou and his team the first time his transmission was rebuilt in addition to the way AAMCO handled repairing the issues at the end of the warranty. I knew I was having some serious car trouble. My family is up north. I looked online and found Aamco in Lighthouse Point. I called ad Lou answered the phone. After talking for a few minutes I knew I had made the right call. I bought my car in and was greeted by Lee, the owner and Josh his son. They gave me a ride home and within 2 hours called me with an estimate of what repairs were needed. I got my car back and it was running GREAT!!! Thank you Lee, Josh and Lou, you guys are great and really care about your customers.

I would give this place (0 stars) If there was an option. Lee the rep. and/or owner of this location flat out lied, completely misled, ripped me off and started work on my vehicle (WITHOUT MY PERMISSION). I wouldnt recommend this place even if this was the last place on Earth.Heres the full story - I needed my transmission fixed, They wanted $695 to fully inspect and diagnose the vehicles transmissions issue which was the only fee I had agreed to pay for only because I needed to know how severe the issue truly was. Lee then gave me a price of $2700 to fix it which I told him it was way too much so he lowered it to $2550. I told him that I needed to qualify for one of their financing programs 1st before having the car fixed as I couldnt afford $2550 out of pocket. I was not approved for their primary program however, they had a 2nd option available so I was (considering) trying to qualify for it. I never attempted to qualify for their 2nd program at all. I never gave him my personal Information to qualify for the 2nd program and never told him to get my car fixed. I still had the option to just pay the $695 and take my vehicle back as it was. Then, he sends me a text message from his phone stating that my vehicle was ready. (Keep in mind, that I also never signed any documents/paperwork giving him consent to start or complete this job at all at any given time). I then proceeded to call his shop only to find out that he had fully fixed my vehicle. I told him to get my vehicle to its original state as it was and that Id pay for the diagnostic done and I would have gone on my way. He refused to abide by my request and told me that I told him to fix the vehicle which is simply a lie. I told him that if he didnt give me my vehicle back in its original state that Id be forced to take legal action against him and his shop. He went ahead and quickly put a (LIEN on my vehicle) so that Im obligated to pay. Well, it will be my pleasure exposing this liar to the public. These are his unethical tactics. This is how Lee conducts business, by lying, deceiving and by taking advantage of peoples misfortunes and issues. The entire reason Im posting this, is so others wont commit the mistake of dealing with Lee from AAMCO ever again although I know the odds of it happening slim however, if I could help just 1 person, Ive done my part.Word to the wise: Take your business to an honest human being. This shop LIGHTHOUSE POINT LOCATION is HIGHLY unethical. 0 stars. I took my 2014 in for engine replacement after overheating on 95 almost in accident & cost over $4000. Plus a rental car & I missed work for 2 days. 3 mths later on 95 car overheated AGAIN!!! Took it back & they replaced water pump reason why it overheated which shouldve been fixed in the 1st place with new engine!!!!!! When I finally got car back, Anti lock brake system didnt work, Steering wheel traction off, some electrical problems & makes whistling noise when starting car. NONE OF THIS BEFORE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED. I returned it & the mechanics kept the car for another WEEK RESULTING IN ALMOST LOSING MY JOB!!! They said they could not figure out why electrical system made doors lock & unlock randomly or why power steering went off randomly as well as the Anti Lock brake system & traction not working or what the whistling noise is???? YET THEY CHARGED US OVER $300 BUT NONE OF THESE THINGS ARE FIXED STILL! Very unethical & poor business!!!!! I dont recommend this shop & even though engine repair is under warranty I WILL NEVER RETURN!!!!!!! They took COMPLETE advantage of a family who recently moved to Florida & just trying to get on their feet & get stabilized after losing their home in a fire up north. Karma will repay you for this.

Friendly and helpful fixed the problem

I have been taking my 2000 Jeep Wrangler to this AAMCO for more than 5 years; I have always been pleased with the level of service and quality of work. This was exemplified recently when we had a persistent transmission fluid leak; PROBLEMS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN at times, specially with a 13 year old/110k miles vehicle. The management and mechanics team followed a plan of action to correct the problem; at times, it did not worked as planned; however, they called and follow-up with me, offered alternatives and were flexible with their time to accommodate MY schedule and at NO extra charge. The leaky transmission fluid problem was resolved! They took ownership of the problem. This is a trustworthy business. I highly recommend it.
