Best service! Honest and reliable. We service all of our cars here and know the job will always be done well!
I got my window fixed here yesterday. Very professional. I haven’t had this pleasant an experience with a mechanic ever. Communication is top notch. To say I’m impressed and pleased would be an understatement.
Perfect service and amazing communication. They’re honest, pay attention to detail and very professional. I highly suggest!
Best place to get your car service. They are very professional.
I had this leak in my transmission and happened to come across this shop and didn’t know what to expect and amazing, they made me feel assured and at ease; right at home.
Always thorough service and good work.
Excellent! Ricardo and all of his staff has always been straight forward and honest! Very helpful and genuine with his work. Always makes you feel like you’re getting the best work done for the best price.
I went in for an oil change. I was very nervous because of the covid-19 virus, but the staff did everything they could to make sure I was safe and socially distant. the service was prompt and very affordable. I would definitely recomend them to all I know.
Great and quick service! Knowledgeable and friendly staff. They use an online/app, easy to use system to send you quotes, pictures of what is damaged/needs repair, which happens to have been created by owner. One of the best auto shop experiences to date.
Horrible! These are hard covid times, Im a nurse at Hackensack Meridian. I have very long drives from linden to North Bergen. I noticed my car kept reving high while driving and not accelerating like the transmission was slipping on Sunday on July 26 2020. Monday morning July 27th I drop by and explain this to Ricardo. I explained this and was worried that it might be my transmission, or that it might be something more simple such as bad throttle body. Im no mechanic so I would not know. He stated most likely that it was not my transmission and that the next available appointment would be on Thursday July 29 2020, and that it should be ok to drive my car until then. However I still did not feel safe to drive because of high reving and car not accelerating. So I have to call out of work since My commute is about 30 mile driving to hackensack meridian palisades ER. Noted that my job is needed at this time of covid. Of course my director of nursing is not happy, but I have no choice. Thursday comes, I drop it off first thing 8am. Hand off my keys to Ricardo and stated I hope its only throttle body related, but Im no mechanic. I wish he would have asked me in case he did not remember our conversation on Monday. So the whole day passes No-one has called me the entire day, so I call approx. 5pm and ask how the car is doing. Ricardo stated everything seems fine and just about ready. I get an email about 15 minuets latter from there mobile app stating iddle revs at normal speed and recommendation to have my front brakes changed since they are worn out. It also stated that my radio interfered with something to which I have no idea. I thought this was all unusual because my idle was completely fine the whole time. So I walk in approx 6pm and they brought up idle, I then stated that it was my transmission or whatever reason my car was revving is why I brought it in. They drove it around for 11 miles checking who knows what the whole time. There is absolutely NO WAY you can miss that my car feels as if its slipping and not accelerating at times. Ricardo then raised his voice at me and stated I never told him this issue. Stating they could not drive it any further because my car was low on gas. At any point in time they have not even tried to call me and ask what was the issue in case there was a miscommunication. Its like they had no idea what they were looking for. And went off whatever statement Ricardo assumed was the need to repair iddleing issue, in which the idle was always running perfect. They then give me back my car, I noticed it was slipping even worse now and had to take it to another mechanic immediately in the next morning since it was late already and they closed up shop when I left. Ricardo then states I stole my own car. We both filed police reports exact time. New mechanic I dropped it off to states that it may defiantly be the transmission solenoid after driving my Hummer H3 by GM with me and stated that Ricardo might have damaged it further driving it around. Mechanic states he could not miss this issue. Yes you have to give it a bit of gas, but it is very very noticeable. In the end horrible communication and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHINGG WITH MY VEHICLE BUT DRIVE IT AROUND. I would not recommend or point anyone with a vehicle in this direction. Get off your mobile app and actually communicate with your customer. Instead threatens me with theft of my car. Im sure any moment Ricardo is going to reply to this review and say I lied, and stole my car. Because this is what they are about.
I went to Joman Auto Service to check out a car that the owner Ricardo had for sale. He was very friendly, and I was impressed with his honesty and how well maintained the car was, which is a great indicator for his professional standards. Ricardo was extremely patient and professional, and I left a happy customer to say the least. If I lived closer to the area, this would be my go-to repair shop. After the sale, he was nice enough to answer some questions I had about maintaining the car as well. Highly recommended, trustworthy people and great service.
I came to the shop with no appt very last minute. They did a great job on my car. I got brakes and oil change for much less than the dealer and did not have to wait. They also let me know what to pay attention for upcoming service. I was on my way with NO OVERCHARGING! Ricardo and the crew are great! Fair and Honest shop!
Works with you and your best interests. Does not try and push you into doing work you dont need, but instead will help you get to the root problem. Very respectful, attentive, and quick service. Owning several dated vehicles, I have enjoyed the service Joman brings to the table time and time again.
Great mechanics. They pay attention to detail. Very accessible via phone, text and email. They will always call you before completing any job and always email the invoices prior to completion of services.
They say finding a good mechanic is like finding a good orthopedic surgeon. If so, you have just found the Dr. James Andrews of mechanics. Ricardo is arguably the most renowned mechanic in his profession for oil changes, brake pads, and tune ups. He has also been credited with performing some of the earliest computer assisted diagnostics. Some of the most common procedures performed by Ricardo are engine swaps and transition rebuilds, and generally he is considered a top specialist in repairing damaged air conditioning. I been going to Ricardo for years, and he defines excellence. Going above and beyond is a daily routine. As previous comments would suggest, this man will go as far as to give you the shirt off his back. Take your car there, you will not be disappointed, I personally guarantee it.
Its hard to know where to begin this review. I was an extremely picky, semi-frazzled used car buyer from out-of-state and had little time to have the vehicle inspected and make the purchase. After a quick Google search, I came across Joman Auto Service. At the time, they had sixteen 5-star reviews. I thought surely there was some sort of mistake. Im happy to say, I was wrong. From the start Ricardo was honest, professional, friendly, and patient. Given my short clock and long travel distance, I hit him with every question I could think of (via phone and email), and Ricardo answered each one as if it were my first -- patiently, honestly, and accurately. Not only did Joman Auto perform an amazingly detailed vehicle inspection at an unbelievably acceptable rate, but they did so in a timely manner.Once, the inspection was completed and Id made the decision to purchase the vehicle (and my plane ticket), Ricardo went the extra mile by consulting on tires for the vehicle. He let me know that I could probably make it back home on the existing ones, but new ones would be safer. He recommended I try to get the dealer to cover it. The dealership refused based on the fact that Id already talked them down on price. At this point, Ricardo provided me with several other options, including advising me on unaffiliated businesses that could do the work if I preferred. His honesty and the fact that he didnt try to up-sell me actually sold me and I had him handle the tire swap. He even opened the shop extremely early on his day off in order to get me in before I hit the road.I am now home happily driving my new used car. I didnt tell Ricardo, but I had my personal mechanic (who just happens to be one of my best friends from childhood) inspect the vehicle. Not only did he say that Joman caught everything he would have, but he mentioned that Jomans standards were a bit higher than his own. That made me feel even better about the purchase.I guess what Im trying to say is if youre anywhere within driving (or towing) distance of these guys, make them your first stop. It wouldnt be a stretch to say my experience with Joman Auto Service is making me reconsider my definition of driving distance. Seriously, these guys are great!
Theyre the BEST!!! Been a customer for over 10 years.. Honest, reliable and always do a GREAT job...
Joman has been servicing all my vehicles during the last few years. His service and knowledge inthe field has always made me feel at ease whenever I leave any of my vehicles in his shop. Always a pleasant, honest experience. Highly recommended.
Ricardo and his employees at Joman take car of your car like it’s a precious antique or perhaps the Mona Lisa! That is only half of the service at Joman’s, Ricardo treats the customers like the most important person on Earth, or a lifelong friend, I know because that’s how he cares for my vehicle and me.
Helpful and friendly staff. Expert knowledge and honest work. I always take my cars here. They go out of their way to accommodate you. Given me rides to the train station so I can drop off my car and go to work.
Joman Auto Service is the most honest place I know to bring my cars for Service and Repairs. I recommend them to all my family and friends. Nothing but Professional service, and pricing is more than reasonable!! Thanks for your years of Service and see you at the next tune up or oil change!!
I found Joman online searching for a local expert programing GM modules. Found an old advertisement they still have online for $65 module reprograming. I read the mostly great reviews online and decided to give them a try. Stopped in the shop and explained that I had an onstar VCIM from a newer vehicle installed and working but needing a firmware update to correct a factory software glitch with the bluetooth connection as per a GM TSB. They told me to make an appointment and they would see what they could do. Showed up about two weeks later and they promptly pulled it in and started working on it. The owner told me his password was too old so GM locked him out of the TDS system and needed to wait for it to be reset. He also had a Dr appointment to get to and told me I could come back in a few hours. I returned for my new appointment and after a few minutes was told it was impossible to do what needed to be done. The bill was double what was advertised and the vehicle retuned without fixing a thing. I questioned the owner on the price and he justified it by stating how much he paid for the equipment he used. I feel that if they were an ethical shop when they couldn’t fix the problem they should have charged $40 for the TDS subscription and sent me on my way. At they very least even if they weren’t able to fix it I’d be able to say they were honest. As it turns I found someone who put a little time into finding a solution. After a few minutes of research he printed the readily available GM bulletin on how to program a 2007 VCIM. It reads that it can’t be programed with the “expensive” equipment Joman used and tried to justify the bill. $50 and 20” later problem is completely fixed, firmware is updated and vin number reprogramed. Guess it wasn’t impossible. If by some chance they decide to do the right thing and send a refund I’ll add it to my review.
You get the professional Personal Touch I wouldnt go anywhere else
Its hard to find honest, reliable, friendly and knowledgeable mechanics today. Ive been bringing my vehicles to Joman for years just for those reasons! Ricardo has always gone out of his way to provide excellent customer service and keeps his staff well equipped with the best tools and training. Julio is one of the hardest working and experienced mechanics in the business. Its always been apparent that the bottom line doesnt come before retaining customer satisfaction at Joman, which is extremely difficult to find in this day and age. Ive seen Ricardo go above and beyond many times, from lending a customer his own vehicle if their car was going to be in the shop longer than expected, to picking someone up on the highway because their car broke down. I would and DO highly recommend Joman Auto Service for all your automotive needs!
Joman is one of the best diagnostic mechanics in the area with a great crew and professional shop manager. There arent many hard working and honest mechanics out there these days, but Joman finds the problem and quickly resolves the issues without hanging you out to dry.I can honestly say, I am not the best car owner as I regularly forget or surpass the recommended oil changes as well as other necessary maintenance, but I would have no one else work on my car. The care and attention they provide are unparralleled.
Very professional great prices highly recommend.
Good guy. upfront and picked me up when my vehicle was ready.
I am what you would describe as clueless when it comes to cars and what makes them work or what could possibly be wrong with it. I literally will walk in and play out what the car is doing, sound effects included, and 9 times out of 10 they already know what the issue is. If they dont know exactly what it is from my description, I receive an answer in very little time. They can usually fix the car on the spot or within a day or so. I keep my car up to date with oil changes, maintenance, so for the most part I havent had to experience any major engine issues, although they would be the only place I would trust. I am a bargain hunter, within reason, and this shop has very afforable prices. IN SHORT: FRIENDLY, RELIABLE SERVICE AT AN AFFORDABLE RATE!
I believed that I had some serious damage to my car in till I took it in for service at Auto Joman Service at 1420 East Elizabeth Avenue, Linden, N.J. 07036 which I highly recommend. Ricardo Da Cruz was amazing, I was under the aspersion that I needed a cylinder head replacement job done because my Buick Rainier was misfiring, Ricardo found the real problem and also save me a great deal of money. They are great! Keep up the great work Joman!
Honest guys straight to the point they also have a app that keeps you updated about the status of your vehicle.
We came all the way from Minnesota because we were on a road trip to see the east coast and unluckily, our car broke down while in Manhattan and it turned out that our battery and alternator was horrible! We couldnt even turn the car on while in Manhattan! And then eventually a very nice officer was able to help us get a new battery for our car and the car worked but it was obvious that it could break down any moment so we quickly tried to get back to our hotel which was in Linden and when looking up auto services we ran across this one and it had very high reviews saying that they were trustworthy so we went to them and got a new alternator! The price was reasonable and the man that helped us, Ricardo, was very nice and patient with us. He seemed know his stuff. They were even nice enough to give us a ride to and from our hotel because it took them about 4-5 hours to replace it, so they dropped us off and then picked us up when the car was ready. We were able to go to D.C and now were on our way back to Minnesota and the car is going without a problem! Definitely a trustworthy place and the service is great!
I cant say enough praise about Richardo and Joman Auto. I was shopping for a vehicle and found one in NJ. I am from ND. I hired Joman Auto to go through the vehicle to see if it was worth buying. They were so incredibly thorough! They tested EVERYTHING! I got a report about the engine, brakes, etc, things you would expect them to check, but they also checked out the stereo, speakers, all lights, all switches, tested all electrical such as windows, seats, how sound the running boards were and pretty much everything you could think of. Not only were they more thorough than I could possibly have imagined, but they were so kind, trustworthy and professional. Richardo even went above and beyond to send me some links to check out other vehicles I may be interested in. And their prices are very reasonable. My only regret is that they are not located in ND because these are the kind of people I love doing business with! AAAAAAAAA+++++++++
I was referred to Ricardo, of Joman Auto Service, at a BMW car show after complaining to some fellow enthusiasts about my A/C problems. I had brought my e30 M3 to two other shops (one that specialized in older bmws) and they were not able to locate the leak in my system. It took a few days but Ricardo identified the leak, gave me various options for replacement parts (oem and aftermarket), worked with me on the labor hours, and fixed the system. Happy to say that the A/C is now blowing cold 6 weeks later. Ricardo was extremely professional, and kept me in the loop every step of the way. Highly recommended!!
I currently own a 1999 Infiniti G20, with 220k+ miles on it. Every time it makes a funny noise or has a leak or needs any maintenance, Joman is my go-to shop. I daily drive my car and it runs just as smooth as the day I bought it. They pride themselves in good honest work, And I trust them wilh my car as well as my mothers CRV and fathers Civic. I often recommend my friends and coworkers to them solely on the fact that they are so honest and upfront with their quotes. Heres a perfect example, BMW told my girlfriend she needed new rear brakes on her 3.28xi. So I told her, on her way home stop at Joman and let them look, mainly because I was skeptical that the rear pads needed changing and BMW had quoted her 635 dollars for the work. So she stopped at Joman after work and Ricardo, the owner, threw it on the lift, popped the wheels off and inspected the brakes. Just as I suspected, the brakes were fine and had plenty of life left. In my book, honesty like that is hard to come by. I highly recommend this shop to anyone, Ive been going there for several year and will continue to do so. A+ work.
Great service, reasonable prices, stands behind their work, professional, honest and trustworthy for over 30 years
This review is 5 months overdue. I wrote a review but it disappeared. Maybe it will show up later. Its worth writing again. Anyway we were on our way back to VA from Long Island. Our van broke down due to a car that ran over something that hit our undercarriage on the bridge. Whatever it was caused the car not to accelerate properly. We are from NY and now how some shops will overcharge when they see out of state plates. We Googled for a shop and picked this one because we noticed a lot of out of towners went there and had a good experience. We drove for about 10 mins. Thankfully they looked at the car right away and found the problem. They said they dont know how we made it even off the bridge w/that piece broken. We were even more thankful that they were able to locate a place that had the piece. A couple of hours later we were back on the road. What we were charged was very reasonable. JOMAN AUTO SERVICE CARES ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMER. Thank you again for getting our family back home safe sound.
Honest, knowledgeable mechanics in a clean well organized shop.
Find a good mechanic is not easy, finding an honest one is even harder. Ricardo and his crew have been doing work on my cars for many years and its always been a great experience. He tells me exactly what needs to be done and when it will be done, the way it should be. I have had some really bad experiences with these popular places like jiffylufe, where they charged me for synthetic and I see them putting regular oil in my car, lesson learned, go to JOMANThank you for your great serviceHighly recommended.
Tire prices not as low as advertise
Consumer beaware this shop will definitely shake your faith in the auto repair shop business. I do not advise anyone to go to this shop. F- is the grade I give them. This shop is clueless on repairing Mercedes Benz. I repeat clueless on repairing Mercedes Benz. My Mercedes E500 broke down in July28 2015. So I decided to google search auto repair shops, and I came across Joman Auto Servive and read some of their reviews. So I try the shop, boy Im regretting that move 110%. Trying to save a few dollars. It was not woth it at all. So July 31 2015 I have the car towed to the shop. Ricardo calls me and tells me I found the problem (fuel pump). Ok I have the car fixed. I pick the car up and Ricardo recommends I get a tune up next. So I figured he got the car running ok try him again. Now its August 7 2015 Im trying home after picking up the car and then check engine light comes on and the car is just riding very sluggish. So I call Ricardo and tell him of the problem, and he saids bring the car back Monday August 10 2015. I dropped the car off Monday August 10 2015 and waited two days to call Ricardo to find out what was going on with the car. And he tells me that hes still trying to find the problem. Now its Monday August 17 2015 and I Speak to Ricardo and he says hes been taking parts out replacing them with new parts, but he doesnt have a definite solution to fix the car. But hes like $900 into parts on the car. So im like what are you talking about. So Ricardo tells me he uses a service that he pays to help him when he cant figure out the solution. And that they recommened that he take parts out and replace them with new parts. I told Ricardo that hes a part changer and not a trouble shooting mechanic. He did not know how to trouble shoot my Mercedes E500. But he was soo greedy for the money that Ricardo said I had to pay for his time that he put into the car. But remember Ricardo still could not find the problem with my car. So I told him to put my parts back in the car. Guess what when I picked up the car. It run worst than before the car even broke down. DO NOT GO TO THAT SHOP FOR WORK. I WILL TELL ANY AND EVERYONE THAT I KNOW NOT TO GO THERE.
Very honest people working there nd do there job right
Great service and the owner is awesome
Ricardo was able to solve 2 issues I was having with my 2011 Honda Civic. He always kept me updated and showed evidence of the damages before going along with any repairs.
Im just sad Joman isnt in my backyard! I tried to do an online deal from out of state with a NJ auto seller that was FULL OF FECES! I wouldnt have known had these guys not done some really good work. They sent me pics, called me, had a web portal to review the service. Seriously, I wish these guys were local to me.
Fast reliable service
Tow truck drag my car out the driveway and caused minor damage....when i try talking to the owner he got very defensive....
Great customer service, fast, and reliable.
A bunch of con artists.
