About a year and half ago I had another company do my floors.. It looked like Ray Charles put the stain down and they ran the roller so fast bubbles formed in the lacquer..;I would never use them again.. And I will name then Conti.........This time I chose 1 Wood Floors.. I couldnt be more happier that I choose them, Ed was able to schedule the job before I moved into my house and Chris did an excellent job of refinishing the floors, they were very professional, and the floors are absolutely beautiful.You cant go wrong choosing 1 Wood Floors..The best in my opinion in the area.....

From the showroom to the actual flooring job, the folks at 1 Wood Floors have been great to work with. Ed, the owner, came to the house to get the measurements, give recommendations on types of wood. Megan at the storefront was also great in answering all my questions in person as well as email. Roslyn kept in contact with me from scheduling the wood delivery, when the movers and plumber would come by to take care of what needed to be done prior to the actual flooring job. Aaron was awesome. He ended up having to do a ton of prep work to the floor including having replace part of the plywood subfloor, leveling and replacing half the screws in the floor to take care of all the creaks and squeaks. The job ended up taking longer than initially planned but that was not the fault of 1 Wood Floors. But everything was taken care of from the trim, the wood installing, demoing the carpet, prepping as well as having all my furniture moved to the garage and plumber to disconnect the needed fixtures. I could not be happier with the end result. I highly recommend these folks for your hardwood installing needs.

This is a long overdue review for 1 Wood Floors. We moved into a condo last Fall and were on a very thin line to get some remodeling done. They put engineered flooring in a large family room, a kitchen/dining area, and a hallway, plus the new vinyl tile in a bathroom and laundry room, plus carpeting throughout the three bedrooms and a stairway. It was all done on time, installed very well by friendly very competent installers. There have been no issues to correct over 10 months. We were extremely satisfied with all aspects of our dealings with Ed and especially the scheduling help by Megan.

They did an excellent job refinishing our floors and rebuilding our stairs. They were very knowledgeable and recommended a variety of solutions. The system that they used to control the dust while refinishing worked extremely well. The outcome was outstanding.

We had a great experience with our flooring install. Our installer Aaron was very professional, he set the standard by which everyone will be judged against. He cleaned up everyday and the way he put the extra effort in to level and prep our floor (the right way) made us very glad that we got our flooring here. They make the floors themselves and the product speaks for itself. We looked around at many places and couldnt find anything comparable to their product

We just had our floors done by 1 Wood Flooring and they did an amazing job! Ed provided the estimate and we worked on the details pluses and minuses for the work to be done since we changed our minds a bit). The floors were carpeted, the crew came in and removed the carpet, sanded, and eliminated floor squeaks. Jamie who worked on our floors was great to work with and did fantastic work on our wood floors. The entire crew (Jamie, Terry, and Nick) were kind, courteous, patient and very professional. Patient mostly because we had a lot of questions during the project. The guys minimized the dust as best as they could and took their time to make our floor absolutely beautiful. Megan from the office did a great job of follow-up. We were very happy with the entire process, but especially the professionalism of Jamie and his team!

We just had our floors redone with 1 Wood Flooring and they did an amazing job! Our floors were in terrible shape and Ed came in and did an estimate and explained the process to us and detailed what he was going to do. We really appreciated the honesty and the attention to detail. Chris who worked on our floors was great to work with and did fantastic work. Everyone we worked with on this project were kind, courteous, professional, and patient. We changed our minds a lot and they gave us the time we needed to get exactly what we wanted. Megan was amazing as well, fantastic customer service and all around pleasant person to interact with. I researched a lot of flooring people before finding 1 Wood and while they may not be the cheapest option, they really are the best.

We had 3 bedrooms, a hallway and family room re-carpeted. We also had our wood floor re-sanded, stained and treated. Both were fantastic. Very impressed with the workmanship. Also the owner Ed followed up and made sure that everything was to our liking. They were very courteous, and trustworthy with our home. Very Pleased.

We had our floors completed back in January 2020 (back when life was good before COVID). This was a last minute disaster due to our fridge leaking and ruining our hardwood floors right before Christmas, also months before our wedding. You could only imagine the stress we were under—Ed (the owner) and his team made the ENTIRE process seamless and easy. The entire process went well, thanks to coordination by Rosalyn, who is the glue who holds it all together. Having 1 Wood Floors do all the scheduling (movers, plumbers, install) is worth alot. We are very happy with our new Quick Step laminate floors. The owner, Ed, came out to measure our rooms and addressed all our concerns; especially the need for a smooth transition from the flooring to adjacent tiled areas. The materials were delivered in a short time frame, and the installation by Scot and Chris went smoothly. All work for 2 bedrooms was completed in one day. I had been shopping around for a wood company for two years. I had at least 4 people out here for measurements and advice. When Ed walked in the door, he knew exactly what kind of floor I had and what the problem was. Unlike the others, he told me I could have them refinished at a much cheaper cost then replacement. I did not want to deal with the soft wood I had previously. Ed was easy to deal with. I finally found a floor I really liked and Ed ordered it for me. It was installed by Aaron. Being a natural hickory with many board colors, it really was a difficult installation. Aaron was diligent in making sure the boards were alternated and placed, so there was a balance between the boards. He went above and beyond...even repaired a door for me that was rubbing. This company is top rate..Ed quoted me a price and there was no additional charges. If you are looking for an excellent, professional job at a reasonable cost, I recommend 1Wood floors without hesitation!

It has been one month since our beautiful new floors were installed. It was a great pleasure to work with 1 Wood Floors from meeting Jeremy in the showroom to Scott, Chris and Chris with the installation. With about 1000 sq. ft. of new floors, I thought our project was big but 1 Wood Floors was ready for it. The customer service was unmatched - I was always kept up to date on the progress and when the flooring estimate ran a bit short, 1 Wood Floors expedited the shipping of the needed materials and stood by their original cost estimate. We shopped around for price and service and could not find any competitors that could beat 1 Wood Floors.

We needed to have two rooms sanded and stained as well as a hallway and stairs that had been finished incorrectly. I had over 4 quotes and 1 Wood Floors was by far the highest. I had 550 square feet of wood floors removed and replaced. It took 1woodfloors only 2 days to complete the job. Their customer service is very, very good. They have checked back with me numerous times to make sure that I am satisfied. The installers showed up on time and cleaned up after the job was completed.You could not ask for any better installer than Kevin. He is a flooring master. He worried about my furniture as much as I did. Kevin also offered some great design ideas that we implemented during the installation. The installation crew members were all very hard working. Jeremy and Ed from the showroom were very helpful in selecting the perfect floors for my house. Wow, just a wonderful experience all around. Ed, the owner, came to my house the last day to look at the job and see if I had any problems or concerns . He is definitely into customer service and cares about his customers.

We are new owners of a 1973 home & wanted to update with wood flooring in our living room & hallway, add luxury vinyl tile in our hallway bathroom & have new trim work added throughout those areas. There was a specific concern at end of our hallway where there was at least a 1.5inch drop and we needed it leveled. (There had been an addition added several years ago-now structurally sound.) We needed to make sure who we hired could take care of this. I had met with 5 different flooring companies & had 4 actually come out to see project. From moment I met Ed at 1WoodFloors, I could hear his experience included not only sales, but he was interested in what type of wood would be most appropriate for my project. He listened to my concerns, which included not only the leveling issue, but the moisture content in our home. He wasn’t interested in selling a product that would not be suited for our needs. He wanted us to have a floor that would last for years to come. He came out to assess the scope of our issues and could tell this would be a challenge but do-able. Ed was/is an installer himself which I believe makes him the best at inspecting a project and giving his recommendation. It was not about a quick sale. It was about a quality product done correctly. After meeting and speaking with 5 others, my husband and I were confident that Ed and his team were best suited for our project. We were looking for a company to sand and refinish our hardwood floors in 720 sq feet of our home. We did our homework and had 5 estimates before we hired 1 wood floors. The estimates varied by $2000.00 and 1 wood floors was not the cheapest but the salesmanship and the promise to do a quality job to our satisfaction sold us on 1 wood floors. The owner Ed is great to work with and will stand behind his work. Jeremy the office manager also goes out of his way to please the customer. The end result is beautiful and the attention to detail was great. We will continue to work with 1 wood floors if we have any future hardwood flooring needs.

Ed is an all star. Ed came out and took on a job another expert was unwilling to complete properly due to the difficulty level. He knows the industry standards and the proper way to do things. Brian and Aaron did awesome on the install side on a difficult job and I could not be happier. This was 500 sqft of glue down engineered floor on concrete including some leveling of the slab. When no one would take it on, Ed came out and made it happen. I work in the construction industry for a living and Ed exceeded all my expectations for quality, time, and customer service .

This is my 2nd time hiring 1 Wood Floors for a flooring project. They did an excellent job at my previous house. Now, at my new house, they totally transformed the space. Prior to the install, my floors were slightly slanted in some areas, so the leveling Aaron performed really made the difference. Aaron installed the flooring, molding, trim, etc. with incredible precision. He even corrected some problems with my doors when he re-hung them. Im very happy. Job well done!

My project involved a tricky removal of old wood floors and then installation of new floor over concrete. Ed and his team were perfect; excellent product knowledge to help me select new floor (which can be overwhelming to evaluate all issues) without pressure sales, crew was neat, courteous, and timely while working along side other contractors which can be difficult. Very helpful in evaluating overall costs, not just price per sf which is misleading. Excellent follow up even over 1 year later when I had a dishwasher removal issue (not even related to the floor)! Highly recommend, my floor is awesome!

They ripped out my old carpet, laid new wood floors, installed new floor moulding, removed all the furniture and replaced it in two bedrooms, cleaned up and took all the debris away in 6.5 hours. They did a great job with our basement stairs. You cant tell the stairs were just finished; they match the rest of the house (and the existing hardwood) perfectly! Project didnt take very long and workers showed up on time and when they said they would. Definitely would use them again if we have another flooring project.

Ed and the team did a fantastic job replacing our entire first floor hardwoods after water damage. Water damage isnt fun, but Ed helped find our perfect hardwood floor to replace the builder grade that came with the house. We couldnt be happier with it and it looks amazing! We are very particular when contracting jobs at our home and have high expectations. We were pleased with the process and results. We are now planning another project with them to install our basement flooring in South Lyon.

We replaced carpeting and a deteriorating laminate floor on most of the main floor of our ranch house, including the kitchen, with prefinished hardwood -- approximately 700 square feet. We were extremely pleased with the job. After a visit to the showroom the owner came to our house and did a very thorough review and prepared an estimate. To the extent we needed to make some choices he provided helpful advice. Candidly, this estimate was more than another one we obtained but we were impressed with the thoroughness of this companys approach. Our decision to go with the higher bid was rewarded. The work was promptly completed with minimal disruption and the attention to detail, for example, the moldings, transitions to carpeted areas and a custom floor register, was excellent. The installers were friendly, skilled and cleaned up when they were done. We highly recommend this firm.

1 Wood Floors recently tore up my old kitchen tiled floor to refinish the hardwood underneath. We didnt know what wed find when we removed the laminant flooring, but the wood under it was still good! They did an excellent job and were professional, clean and timely. I found the price to be fair too and my floors look fantastic.

We needed to have our entryway and kitchen floors redone prior to listing the house for sale. I stopped in the showroom and was greeted by Jeremy, explained my needs and Jeremy made an after hours trip to the house to see the project. The house was just completely repainted and carpeted so I had concerns of the sanding dust. When Matt and the crew came to do the work they taped and sealed off the entire area including the kitchen cabinets. Ed, Gordon, and Scott did amazing work for us. We had a huge job, including tearing out 1000+sqft of tile and 1 concrete subfloor and installing new hardwood. Ed is friendly and knowledgable and gave us confidence that they could handle the job. Scott and his crew were great to work with, took good care of our house, and did an amazing job.A couple days after they were done, Ed and Scott came in for a final walk through and inspection. We were perfectly happy with the floor, but Ed took the time to walk around and inspected almost every board individually, pointing out tiny cosmetic imperfections to be fixed and picking tiny bits of leftover glue off the floor. This is stuff we never would have noticed. These guys are perfectionists and really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the work. Im always skeptical of businesses with all 5 star reviews, but these guys really deserve it. Highly recommended.

Last week I had 1 Wood Floors lay pre finished Hickory Hardwood in a dinning room and living room. This company has great customer service which seems to be a lost art these days. From the first I walked into the show room I was treated respectfully, and professionally. Email messages answered promptly.Prior to this visit I had an independent installer come out to give me an idea on cost for putting in hardwood. He was rude, unhelpful and never did give me an even ball park quote as he was too busy telling me all my samples were Junk. Needless to say that was the last I saw of him! totally different experience with 1 Wood Floors. They had great suggestions, worked within my price range and did a wonderful job. They stayed til 8 PM to get the job done all in one day. They really work as a team. Even the owner came over to check out a problem with my subflooring which was not securely fastened to the joist. They fixed it without charging me extra for unforeseen issues. You dont see that happen too often. The finished product looks fabulous and I would highly recommend this company. Yes you may find someone cheaper but you will have headaches from jobs taking longer than expected, extra expenses that get added on, dont clean up after they are done, blare loud music without your consideration. Ive seen it all. Non of this with 1 Wood Floors. Their work ethic and customer service is unbeatable.I would not hesitate at all to use them again.

We 1woodfloor do are two bedrooms with bamboo flooring they both came out beautiful and the work man was so friendly and the price was on beatable we are going to do are livingroom in the spring of 2018 and there is no one else we are going to go with except 1woodflooring can not wait to see my livingroom look as beautiful as my bedrooms do.

Had 525 sq ft. of flooring installed in my home. It came out beautiful and was done in less then 8 hours. Had 4 people in my house and they came to work. Very clean and polite, Had several unprofessional and uneducated people (craigslist ads) come and and quote the same price and more then i paid Ed. Ed is very knowledgeable and dont mind sharing what he knows to get the some done right. No surprise prices or add ons. Great prices and great work.
