They got on my truck and got it done on schedule, even though they had some scheduling issues with the vehicle before me. Very friendly and kept me abreast of everything going on throughout the process. I would recommend this shop to anyone.

Installed a new transmission for us and several moths later we developed a leak at a connection to the radiator. No questions asked he automatically said he would warranty the repair even though I wasnt expecting anything for free. Good honest shop and it goes to show why they are still in business so many years later.

Awesome spot. You might miss it if youre not looking for it. I went there when my dashboard light turned on. They checked it out and the owner, Hal, was straight up with me and told me exactly what I needed. I knew it wouldnt be cheap but for the work I was getting done, the price sounded reasonable.My car was ready on time and on budget! When I went to pick it up Hal was there ready to get me back on the road. Its good to feel like I have a friend when my cars in trouble. Hopefully, I dont have to come back any time soon.

Great service!! I heard from a lot of ppl that this was the place to get my transmission built. Ronny is a great guy, I brought my truck in thinking my transmission was the issue and he quickly discovered that the motor was the real problem. Thank you for not letting me wasted a bunch of money trying to fix a perfectly good transmission. I’ll be bringing my work truck in for sure.

Ron and the guys are wonderful. I live out of town but run a business in the area. Was on my way out of town (driving) and a loud clunk occurred and my Dodge Challenger started to have this high pitched whining noise.The noise sounded underneath and maybe back and I was sure it was transmission, drive train, or God forbid, the rear end. My friends locally have always spoken highly of Transmissions By Hal, so I limped on in there.Ron was there and stopped what he was doing and said, lets take it for a drive. We did, he heard the noise immediately. We looked at each other and he just smiled and said, lets get it up on the racks and look underneath. Im thinking, ouch, this is gonna cost me.We get back, put my Challenger up on a rack. He and Rick get in there and start tinkering and poking around. I hear someone saying yep, thats it, you were right. Ron comes out and says to me its your lucky day. You had a hanger let loose on your exhaust system and part of it is rubbing against the drive shaft. Easy fix. Then he looks at me with this twinkle in his eye and asks me who referred me, I told him, he laughed and said $25 bucks and tell so and so we said thanks for the referral.If he had said $100, I know shop rate aint cheap. So appreciative of those guys. Im sending everyone I know to Transmissions By Hal

You northern Californians are lucky to have Transmissions By Hal here. Im vacationing on at one of the RV parks on the Delta and the transmission my dually that I pull my 5th wheel with started making some awful noises...not what you want to hear when you are on a cross country trip.One of the locals told me about Transmissions By Hal, so I gave them a call. One of their technicians, Rick, said bring in my truck and they would figure out the problem. Well, Im not a car guy, but there was issue with my linkage and I was leaking fluid badly. Duh, me, didnt even notice the fluid spot under the vehicle.The owner, Ron, got the parts needed the next day and had my truck out the door 2 days after I brought it in.Hey you Stocktonians and Lodians, Transmissions By Hal should be your choice for all your transmissions service.

Horrible experience! They said they would call me the next day after I dropped my car off, they never did I had to call them 2 days later and finally checked it .They had my car for 5 days and did nothing but check the codes on it and then said they can’t do anything to it because there is too much codes. When my car only has 2 codes I could’ve gone to autozone for them to read my codes! Don’t go there waste of time!
