It was my friends birthday and I asked him where he would like to go to celebrate, he chose the Velvet Grill & Creamery because he wanted to get the pork chop dinner plate. I wound up getting the broasted chicken dinner with mashed potatoes an a salad for my sides.Two out of the four pieces of broasted chicken were pretty good (leg and breast) but the other two I didn’t really care for as they were a little rubbery (wing and thigh). If I came back I would probably try something else. My other friend got the meatloaf but mentioned he felt like it was all meat and was missing something to the flavor. The birthday boy enjoyed his pork chops. For dessert we each got ice cream, I got birthday cake and it was very rich & thick with flavor. My friend got the port (wine) ice cream but because the alcohol in it, it was a little watery though he still enjoyed it.

The food was really good follow their patties they gave you double meat and cheese theres no crab sandwich wasnt that great but I havent had that crab sandwich in a while so. Their ice creams and their milkshakes are very good and theres different varieties of milkshakes you can have one regular you can have one thick you can have one creamy so you get a plethora of options Surprise range is pretty okay I only spend 50 because I have too many items but two plates youll be spend like 20 or $30 depending on what you buy but they do give you a lot The service was okay I think everybody was having like a off day today that was on a Sunday but for what its worth it was fun. My first reaction is going to the place before I pass this up that shop up so many times because I thought it was a funeral parlor not an ice cream grill creamery so my bad but its a nice relaxing place

Currently short-staffed, like every other restaurant, but the loyal wait staff they do have are great! Good, simple food - great burgers and sandwiches, as well as other entrees. And dont forget the great ice cream and shakes.

It was my first time eating here today, I ordered a bacon burger with fries and It was cold when I received it, i didnt want to be that person that sends a perfectly good plate back but I wanted hot delicious food. The waitress was super nice and informed me that some of the cooks were in training she also took my burger off my bill. Thank you cooks for the melting bacon cheeseburger the second time around. Ill be back to try your ice cream 🍨

Absolutely fantastic !! We decided to stop here spontaneously at the height of lunch hour, so we had to wait about ten minutes for a table, but believe me when I say it was absolutely worth it.The Sirloin dip sandwich was absolutely delicious, their strawberry lemonade is so wonderful (and pretty!) I couldnt stop drinking it, and their brown and gold sundae had more hot fudge and caramel sauce poured all over and around it than I have ever seen before! And I mean that in the best way!Definitely coming back here again and again as long as Im in the area!

The Velvet Grill is very family friendly and has that home cooked feel. We ordered their chili dog, add bacon, bacon Cheeseburger and fish tacos. The fish tacos werent the best weve ever had, but overall the food was delicious. Burger was good quality, good seasoning. You gotta try one of their handmade shakes. Super thick, and very flavorful.

Ate here for the first time with my bosses today. Food and service was amazing! Wish I could remember our server/waitress name because she was really great too! Great selection of food. Some things little bit pricey but overall reasonable. Definitely will come back and I do recommend!

Great food at great prices. The servers are always excellent, and the food is always on point. Definitely a go to place if you are passing through Modesto.

This place was remodeled a while back so it looks nice inside. The sirloin steak salad is good if your trying to eat healthy. The hungry hobo breakfast plate is one of my favorites, along with the banana & pecan pancakes. The burgers are good too. Their staff is nice and attentive.

We brought my friend here for breakfast because we were at a business nearby. Love the home cooked taste of the food, however the Velvet Creamery on Dale Road serves larger portions for the same price. (I like to bring home a doggy bag) and I prefer Dale Roads atmosphere. They do have friendly, attentive staff. Website says masks required, however majority of people were mask less. Maybe should remove that from site description.I will return for their unusual flavor offerings of ice cream, however I will stick with Dale Ave for meals.

Manager was very rude to my elderly friend who just wanted to get some lunch. All based on the opinion of one waitress about her from some past event and no proof of what was being said about her. There was a lot of people in the building and my friend was embarrassed since she was told she could not eat there and had to leave. I know my friend is a little eccentric and perticilar but this was very disappointing! You guys should be more tolerant of people who are different.

The servers are amazing. The food is amazing. The whole experience is amazing. Fallon is our favorite server there. She is on top of everything. All the servers are phenomenal.

Service was quick and friendly. Got onion rings, a baja burger with fries and a rootbeer. All were fantastic but the burger started to fall apart a bit about halfway. Was still absolutely delicious and worth the cost.

Breakfast was bomb. Especially the fresh chicken and waffles! Better than Roscoes.

Visited Velvet Grill & Creamery on a Sunday afternoon & even though there was some people waiting outside to be seated when I got there, the waitresses were able to seat us all quickly inside. The wait was only about 20 minutes. The waitresses are so very friendly & the food was great! You can definitely tell when a person enjoys the job that they do. Thank you for being open during a time like this, it’s so nice to come & have a meal with your family here. God bless the owner & all the employees at this business. Best service and food! Mozzarella Bars are my favorite along with the croissant turkey bacon sandwich with added avocado and the Avocado Bacon cheese burger so yummy! Breakfast on point!

This will be a Order to go food review. At 107 degrees outside today I wasnt cooking tonight, so I stopped at the Velvet Grill and Creamery and ordered a light meal. Todays order was the BLT or commonly known as Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato and I switched from Fries to a salad with Thousand Island dressing on the side. First off, the BLT was delicious, this was on their baked wheat bread bun, the juiciness of flavors of the Bacon merging with the Tomato was just party and the salad was just right. To end the meal was their fresh brewed Ice Tea. This hit the spot. As usual the service was fast and courteous even for take out. Stop on by, their food is great, and if your a Military Veteran they give a discount with ID. Enjoy.

My wife and I eat here once a month. Their chicken fried steak 🥩 is soo delicious!! Hailey provides really good service. She has waited on us in the past as well as today and always makes our dining experiences enjoyable.

I have a different kind of diet.And they were very accommodating.

Their Chickem and waffles are tasty. Alot of ther food that was fried tasted burned like their cheese sticks.

Average soup and sandwiches. Service was good, didnt try desert. Just a basic place to eat a light lunch or dinner. We do like there breakfast far better than lunches. There icecream is what they are known for, but I have never tried it.

I really like their fried chicken usually go every owhen my wife gets from Dubil its been like 3 time allready when we are sitting down about 8:15pm when more customers come in trying to eat and one of the waitress tells the no more close customers said your sign says 9:00 pm she answers back the cooks had very tough dsy! This yshoul stop its not right for her to do that she doesnt want to work get rid of her I dont know her she is a good waitress until 8:15 pm her Friday night

This place is truly wonderful! The best food I have had in a long time but lets now talk about the amazing homemade ice cream! OMG is the best! And just when you think it cant get any better it does with their service it like stepping back in time in the best way! 😊 Love this place! Our waitress was amazing, never let our drinks get lower then a quarter. Food was amazing, hot and good size portions. The ice cream is absolutely to die for, you can taste the homemade creaminess so delicious, and they have some unique flavors ! I await my next trip!

Had a Shrimp salad had four 🍤 and mostly big chunks of red and green bell peppers and I am allergic to onions and I asked for no onions and of course it was made wrong. They took it back to remake it meanwhile the bread the gave me got cold and my friends meal already was served. Took forever for the remake. Hardly any mixed greens mostly bell peppers. Very disappointed especially for price. My friend was done eating by time my salad came. So I just had it boxed up to take it home. What a waste of an outing.

I wish I had taken a picture of my eggs benedict! It was that delicious looking that I dove right in and it was worth it. The wait staff is pleasant and accommodating. Service was fast and efficient. Coffee refills right when needed and the waitress made a point of setting a little reminder for herself for our to go order. That was nice, my friend and I could continue our conversation and dining and the waitress would put in the order at the right time. That was much appreciated to know that the little things like that were paid attention to an taken care of. Great restaurant and business.

This has been my go to place, my Modesto comfort food. I always get a malt first and take most of my meal home! The malts are to die for; the old fashioned serving where you get your glass and also the frosty metal cup with the other half. The food is ok, normal diner food. The service has been good every visit.

This was our first time here. At first our younger kids were disappointed that we werent going to Dennys. But by the end of the night, they said they liked it better than Dennys! Quick, friendly service. I wish the waitress had a name tag on and I would mention her by name. She was helpful and prompt. My teenage son mentioned how good the food was. We all enjoyed our selections. My wife had the pork chops and they were tender and flavorful. I got the avocado bacon burger. It was thick, juicy, and flavorful. Im a sauce kind of guy, so I wish there was a little more sauce on it. My son got the Belgian waffle and especially loved the strawberries. My two little ones got waffles and completely devoured them. The ice cream was rich and creamy. We will definitely be back.
